Visited Saturday afternoon with family. Food was ace and the cocktails were even better. Lovely chilled and comfortable surroundings. Will definitely be back soon

Visited for the first time today for Sunday lunch. It was beautiful home cooked food. All very fresh and piping hot. Good atmosphere, friendly staff,. Will definitely return. It's so nice to eat at a independent pub that does great food at a very reasonable price.

Not been in the pub for a few weeks due to holidays etc but went in last night and it’s like walking into a different place! An unbelievable transformation - fresh, vibrant and a great buzz! Food was superb on as normal (mixed grill / steak & Guiness pie). Hats off to the team …. It just gets better and better 👏🏻

Lovely friendly pub with fantastic food and lovely staff

Friday 25th Oct 7pm visit. Food was good and good portions. The atmosphere is lacking as it is a bit like a canteen. Plastic tablecloths and very cheap napkins. Way too bright and soleless. The food was served quickly and was very hot and fresh but as to the service in general, it was poor, even though they didn't appear to be that busy. We had to request a second drink and was never offered a desert menu. They were preparing for the next day around us and we offered to move as we felt a little in the way being the only occupied table but was told not to worry. We had problems with the wine also as they didn't seem to know what they were serving and it wasn't too pleasant. It's a shame as I would like to see them succeed. They are a 5 minute walk for me and my husband and could be well supported but they need to up their game.

Really happy to see the pub had new owners so went to support them. I really want them to suceed. However, there are some issues. I am only writng this review in the hope it will help the owners. Firstly, the positive, the real ale is good, the service is good and they are trying hard by putting on live entertainment. Well done. Now the not so positive. The crispy pork bites were not crispy, even though I asked upon ordering and was assured they 'should' be, and it was way too salty, and i like salt!! The restaurant looks like a canteen. Way too bright, I dont understand why they dont dim the lights, or remove some bulbs if thats not possible. The furniture and table cloths are also reminiscent of a canteen and the less said about the napkins the better. These things are easy to put right and I hope that they can be as I would really like them to succeed

The best pub lunch! Had the Tandoori chicken wrap and pork belly bites, both absolutely to die for! So well priced, lovely staff and beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

Just been up for Sunday lunch,best dinner we have had,beautifully cooked and presented,the beef melted in your mouth....puddings and drink are perfect highly reccomend lovely staff

Came across this lovely pub by accident... Popped in to get a drink in the day and walked into one of their 'cookouts' with the BBQ going and music playing... It was great! Food smelled delicious but we didn't eat as we had to get to an appointment... Would loved to have stayed though. Staff and regulars were really friendly.

Spent a nice afternoon at an open day there with lots of different food stalls and a live band on early evening

went yesterday for my boyfriend and we had lovely dinner I had curry of the day and he had fish and chips both were very tasty would recommend. service was pretty quick and staff is friendly.

I haven’t been here for two years - but now it’s under new management a friend and I thought we’d check out the Sunday lunch. Food was delicious, very well priced and the staff were all lovely and attentive. I’ll definitely be returning, 100% recommend. Thank you.

Just back from a wedding do and I must say the food you put out was lovely and I'm a fussy eater I savoured every bit it was that good I forgot to take pictures but my belly loved it well done I understand it was your first time and my wife and I are thinking of coming for a main meal one day 👍👍👍👍👍

Good value pubwith good ale new management not quite up to the previous owners. Today's visit was much improved the food and service were excellent

Well what an amazing meal and service. We had 4 carveries ,the service was really quick,food was very nice and came out piping hot.I will defiantly be back next Sunday.

Great food and lovely atmosphere. Staff are very efficient, friendly and professional. Only reason I haven’t given it a 5 star review is the loo’s are a bit dated . Locks don’t all work and there was a shortage of loo roll. Not a big deal but resolve that and the place is pretty much bang on!

We came a few weeks ago and everything was perfect service and food 10/10 so I wanted to come again tonight for my 21st and the staff were amazing thankyou to the 2 girls and the boy who ran back and forth with food and sauces for us it was lovely couldn’t fault anything such a lovely team you are aswell thankyou so much.

The pub had recently changed hands, the food was tasty and hot. The pub is in a lovely spot on the canal with out door seating. Well worth a visit

We had heard that this restaurant was worth a visit and they were right, although the parking is a bit tight this lovely understated little gem did not disappoint, the welcome was warm and the staff were so friendly, we were a party of 4 with 2 going for the Fish and Chips and 2 for the Lasagne, the fish, which was middle cod loin was white firm and delicious and the batter light and crispy, the lasagne was full of flavour and bubbling with a generous cheese topping, this was served with garlic ciabatta bread and salad, the prices are very reasonable and we looking forward to seeing you all again. Well done...

Came in on a Saturday Evening Toilets are upstairs would hate to climb them if had too many to drink. Dog friendly pub. Not many ciders, just magners. Staff seem a bit rushed of their feet. Its a bit pricey compared to other pubs. But has improved since new management came in. Just about got parked. But overall just about okay...

the bag of crisps was lovely! the face on the so called land lady not so much.beer tasted bad and when i politely asked to change she was extremely rude and this was reflected in the atmosphere of the whole place. skip it - i’ll get my crisps elsewhere!

Found staff not very plesent , we were told to move just as our hot drinks arived as we had sat in none dog area no notice to say no dogs no offer to move tray of hot drinks , not once were we asked if everything ok , did we need anything , food not up to much at all , not kid freindly , nit a good experance

Visited on a cold Friday night expecting it to be warm & cosy inside..I was wrong, it was cold & uncomfortable where we sat & hardly any other diners. I had to put my coat back in it was so cold. Food was ok but no where near the standard expected for the price charged. Its a shame as its a great location. Won't be returning anytime soon.

Absolute hidden gem. Best pub / restaurant for miles. Came here for a Sunday roast about 1.5 years ago and was pleasantly surprised by how lovely the food was considering the value. 3 courses for less than £17 and absolutely no complaints. Although we don’t visit as much as we would like, we haven’t been anywhere else for a roast dinner since. We’ve recommended to family and friends and have been a number of times with family when they have visited who all have the same opinion. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere

Fabulous place, cosy and romantic, right next to the canal, with rolling green pastures, watch the barges go by. Great ambiance, food is great and made with fresh produce. Traditional pub food with a twist. Would recommend you give it a try. Weekends are busy so book a table or go in the week.

Ideal for a drink but would not recommend lunch time meals you might be better off having a bag of crisps.

Very nice, sat on the deck by the canal. The pub is a little plain but the food was fantastic. Only complaint was the portions were small, but very flavoursome.

Beer was flat food was poor quality veg over cooked 1 slice of beef with Sunday dinner with large piece of fat attached over cooked veg thin strips lack of gravy not very impressed the potatoes where raw and not cooked .the food was.cold the table next to me complained and had a full.refund not good.fopd at all and flat beer terrible really would not recommend

We waited 2 hours for food, that was amazing, but our daughters that ordered before us were kept waiting for another hour. We had young children with us, and they'd gone past it.

we went to the fingerpost for sunday roast lunch but the beef wasnt cooked propley and the other stuff like veg and potatoes wasent cooked at all on the 9th of july 2023 me and my mum was disopointed we wont be going back there

People that work there horrible. Had to request for the manager. Food was disgusting and overall i would rate less than 1 star on total. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN! RUBBISH PLACE!

Food was excellent as I remember, but them made me walk 3 miles because of theirs fault without any compensation, that's why service on one,, I'd do 2 star after chat, but it is for next customers

Waited far too long to be served. Served people out of the queue first.

Only one person behind bar waited for two people to be served and then was bypassed by people that came in after me obviously knowing the staff, will not be back dreadful service.

Felt a little bit like I was not allowed to be there. The food was great and I loved the surroundings but vibes given from staff weren't all that friendly. I'd go back but maybe I'd ring ahead first and check whether the staff were smiling. All in all, 3 stars out of 5.

The Finger Post used to be a good local pub serving real ale and good food, and we would regularly visit the pub for a meal when in the area. Post COVID and visiting the area, we have twice pulled in to the pub. On the first occasion, February 2023, told the kitchen wasn't open, no staff, open tomorrow. Just a one off? No popped in today and told kitchen not open, open tomorrow. Don't waste your time with a weekday lunch visit. Turning away families is a loss of £25 - £30 a head. Shan't bother again.

Great friendly timely service. Super view. From inside because it was raining but there's a lovely canalside terrace. The homemade meat ravioli was very nice. Fish and chips, nachos and fries were good.

Greatest pub in Pelsall! Tasty food, quality pints on draught and a fab view of the Canal out back. Outdoor seating area and dogs welcome. Fantastic for sunny days with friends or a nice meal with the family

Welcoming enough ,the prices however are more fitting for City Centre venues as in too expensive for what it is.

Cold a bit smelly. £15 steak was a tiny meal and steak dry I won't be revisiting

Possibly the worst meal I've ever had. An absolute joke. The "croquettes" were just dollops of mashed potato with no breading, plopped on some yellow lettuce, and the pork belly was rubbery and undercooked. Avoid.

Went here for the first time for a Sunday dinner, my only criticism was that my Yorkshire pudding was a bit burnt.

This is a really nice place, right next to a canal which is great to walk the dog. I was struggling to find a pub locally that allowed dogs and came across this pub whilst driving around. The food is really good and great prices too! There's always a warm welcome for us, especially my dog Jagger. A proper pub
