Bar staff vaping at the bar accounts for low score really not appropriate. People sitting at the bar so it was difficult to get served in between them. Customers swearing a lot at the bar in conversation and unpleasant to listen too. Inside could do with a refurb. Friendly nice waiters and helpful kitchen staff. Ordered Sunday lunch it was a big portion and one of our party enjoyed it the other didn’t. Pleasant sit outside by canal.

Had a fish and chips, my wife had scampi and chips. We asked about whether the fish Batter had milk in as my wife is lactose intolerant, they weren't sure, so my wife had the scampi and chips and hopefully they would be okay. It wasn't, it's had a really bad effect on her lactose intolerance! We think you need to start providing an allergy sheet to safeguard yourselves

Really good place for drinks and great food. Gio Italian food is amazing and the atmosphere is great even for parents with young kids. Highly recommended, also next to the canal so you can go for a nice walk.

Food was the best pizza I've ever eaten its was amazing the crust was prefect ,the toppings was lovely , words can't explain how nice it was. Been a chef for 30 years jesue christ is was superb

Great pub, well ran and beautiful setting for the summer.

Did not eat as went for the singer. Staff served us quickly and effectively prices very good and beer was good. Locals very friendly. Very nice night all in all we shall be back

Recently reopened under new management. Just started to do food on Sunday. Food was excellent and no frozen quick food. Vegetarian and a fish option on the mains.

Went to have Sunday dinner really nice food , reasonable portions and good prices for drinks loved it , chicken cooked so good 😊

We went for Sunday lunch which was fine. It's a shame the pub is in need of some TLC as there are some really interesting features inside. The canalside location was nice with plenty of seating.

When we went to the are the woman was having a go at and swearing at two men who wanted a refund. The chef was very rude with little to no hospitality. More cussing than cooking. Vented to us about people not taking orders. Shouts out meals, not ticket numbers. Many Holes in polystyrene, asked for double vodka .Really crispy outside of patty , almost burnt. Chips nice and crispy Pizza taster microwaved up and quite cold with an odd after taste. Very crumbly hotdog bread like fine sand grains. Worker drinking a Budweiser. Chef with no hair net on. Mistook an order and left someone without food. Closed to due too many orders, 52 minutes before end of service. Took someone’s order while they closed it from the side door. Every order took forever. Even a small tray of chips.

Place gets better great staff new chef and really good menu I personally had the cottage pie special very nice and big portions the weather was great so sat outside where the owners have now built a bar and burger bar outside kids had ice cream I highly recommend the place the new owners have really put alot of effort into this place highly recommend it and also take your dog

I booked The Boathouse for my boyfriends birthday and it was such a great night. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the food was beautiful and everyone that came really enjoyed the night. Also the DJ played so many classics throughout the night. I will definitely be booking again for functions

Another one of my locals....only tend to visit in the summer on a nice day and sit outside by the canal...beers good here to.

Absolutely amazing place, clean and has an amazing atmosphere and the staff are really kind and very friendly and always make me feel welcome. The bingo and quiz nights are amazing and I also enjoy the karaoke nights on a Friday or the entertainment on Saturday 🙂 The food is also really nice and the outdoor area is wonderful as well 😀

Good beer selection would be perfect on a hot summers day sat by the canal also show all the football for you sports heads.

Haven't been in for years but it now looks a bit rough round the edges. Won't bother again.

Wanted to say thank you to Sue and the team at the Boathouse. We held my brother's wake there after the funeral ay Streetly Crem. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed the afternoon. The room was plenty big enough for the 60+ people who came back and the outside space was great to expand into. Highly reccomended.

Live band and solo act were brilliant!! But ... didn't feel comfortable there and had to leave as soon as band finished

Just a quick, after-work visit on a sunny Friday afternoon; this place was perfect for it. Spacious beer garden right by the canal, decent selection of beers, and bbq-style food counter outside. Liked it: will go again.

What a fantastic family friendly pub the atmosphere always amazing and you will always be welcomed by the lovely the staff food is fabulous and a great addition of adding the outside bar and kitchen you will not be disappointed the new owners have done a great job to turn it into a great place to visit theres always great entertainment for you all the enjoy of all ages

Great pub where people and dogs are welcome alike. I've been past many times but this was my first visit, the staff were very friendly and helpful, even offering and fetching water for the dogs with no hinting or mentioning. The pints were first class and perfect on the day again. I'd 100% visit again and recommend it to others to try

place nearly empty: fairly unfriendly clientele hovering at bar. canal full of green algae (not the owner's fault, per se, although it could do with a clean-up). some menu items not available. bartender wanted us to come inside, although there appeared to be "functioning" tables outside.. (early summer at time of visit)... we were served food in good time and a friendly bar lady served us fast when we arrived...plenty of seating inside with big tables. unfortunately, food portions on small side and battered cod was (almost) incinerated. didn't appear to be any real ales available. Can only award 1 star: I do not wish to debate seating arrangements on a quiet night out with friends.

Very friendly pub with nice staff. Has a decent selection of soft and alcoholic drinks. I haven't tried their gin or rum but they have a few different flavours available. Good cobs. I intend to get a Sunday roast here soon. The pub and toilets are nice and clean.

Worse food I have ever had. My steak dinner was the worse cut of steak. Full of grisle and fat. Not cooked how I asked instead was cremated.. Better steak at weatherspoons for half the price. Won't be eating there again.

Never been before, great pub,canal side setting with lovely relaxing atmosphere. Nice large beer garden,the pub is dog friendly inside and out. The meals looked lovely and cobs and platters on offer. We will definitely be back with Mr Grif to sample the food have a relaxing drink.👍🍺🐶💯

Staff are the nicest people around, friendly, chatty and great service. They do everything and accommodate to everyone. There isn't a better pub around then here... It's got it all. Great selection of drinks. Atmosphere is what you want and the staff are great. 5 Stars all round. Bonus it's placed on the canal nothing better than a cheeky pint on a hot summers day by the canal. 👌🏼😍

Great place to have a drink and eat lovely staff great friendly atmosphere great selection of drinks especially gins well worth a visit also since the covid19 pandemic i only feel safe here, they are the nicest pub with the the best staff and as I am a vulnerable person with medical issues they make sure that its a safe environment for everyone i have never heard them shout at customers or anything like that its not that type of place the staff are friendly and caring and are trying to do the best they can in bad situation with covid 19. So thank you to you all at the boathouse

We visit here regularly and always get a warm welcome, helpful and friendly.

Absolutely abhorrent customer service and severe lack of human decency. Arrived as a small group, a few with masks and 2 without including myself (exemption due to severe asthma). Within 30 seconds of entering the building 3 members of staff (2 behind the bar and one in front of us) aggressively yelled at our group demanding we wear masks. Attempts were made to try and explain my condition and exemption however I was confronted by the man from behind the bar who continued to ignore me. It wasn't long before all three staff members shouted us out of the building, clearly to the alarm of the surrounding customers. I would never consider returning to this place again and highly advise anyone considering making the trip to look elsewhere. There are an abundance of nice restaurants/pubs/bars in the area who are extremely welcoming and despite having strict Covid-19 rules they were able to calmly explain the situation to us and even went above and beyond to help us access the beer garden without needing to enter the building and providing masks for those who needed them.

We all had a good time but mist the food no fault of the staff it was our fault a few problems i am looking forward to a meal there it is a lovely place

It's OK the garden, the indoors not my cup of tea, but the canal view makes me want to visit again.
