The Filling Station in East Lothian

Excellent service. Ordered 2 chicken mystique baguettes with salad and they were ready for me to pick up. Delicious. We order this every time we meet for coffee.

It’s called the Filling Station for a reason. My coronation chicken wrap was huge an filled me up for the day. Really tasty. Friendly service. I’ll be back soon.

Would highly recommend this little place for takeaway morning teas, lunches or snacks. Had the most enormous, and delicious, cheese scone and coffee for morning tea on our way up to Aberdeen.

Obviously due to covid you hours may vary but may I suggest updating your hours as it saves a wasted journey on a monday

We have dropped in for a few sandwiches and baked-potatoes before and they have always been very good.However this time, we pre-ordered a take-away afternoon tea for two and it was delicious!You get a great selection of items for your money, all lovely packaged up to take away. There are rolls, pies, sausage rolls, sausages, scones, cakes...it goes on. So much food and so tasty.Would highly recommend ordering one for a weekend treat.

Everytime Ive been there I had had service with a smile and a chat with the ladies that work there. Good choices and prices fair. When visiting Lnidd I often stop on the way to or from the station.

I had a puncture during a cycle ride, and while waiting to be rescued, I went into the Filling Station. The staff were really friendly and let me sit in the shop (it was cold outside!) while I waited. That made my day so much better than it could have been. The staff were lovely, helpful and friendly........And the bonus was the best cheese scones ever!

Had a filled roll - very fresh and full - no wonder there is queues outside! Plenty of choices too -

Our kids love stopping at the Filling Station to pick up a filled baguette on the way for a beach walk or picnic. The fillings are fantastic and the filled baguettes are HUGE. Certainly large enough to share one between two for smaller appetites - but a great filler for teenagers. The only downside is the use of plastic packaging. I can see the logic but hate the waste

Not only do they do every type os filled baguettes and rolls on the planet, they will make you up any salad you want, great staff, great wee find.

Perfect for that little breakfast fill up if you’ve had an early start . Ordered roll over the phone BBE ( bacon,black pudding and egg) with Sirancha sauce . Arrived 10 minutes later ready and waiting £3.20 VFM . Great little sandwich shop . A must to visit . Or so must recommend there Chicken chilli pies Superb .

Occasionally stop on way to golf. Decent coffee and bacon roll though nothing particularly special. Friendly service.

Very fresh food, clearly on display and lots of variety! If you want a baguette this is your place should you be travelling to the east coast

Just popped in to grab something for my lunch, and boy, was it worth it! I got a baguette, with chicken mayonnaise and bacon, and it was absolutely amazing. Baguette was soft, yet slightly crispy, but not crumbly, a more than generous portion of chicken mayo, and freshly grilled bacon. Got a wee Empire biscuit to top me off! A bit more than I'd usually pay for my lunch (trucker), but well worth it, and look forward to going in the next time I'm out that way.

Wonderful hot and cold filled rolls and scones are to die for service is top marks friendly polite and Well managed. Clean and tidy shop and food area

Visit this Sandwich shop now and again when passing. The breakfast rolls and delicatessen rolls are out of the world. Not cheap but that’s what you for. Certainly recommend. Tell your friends.

Can't fault the fiilling station. Food is of good quality, service is excellent and great value for your money. There is an extensive menu to chose from.

Please train your staff. Unbelievably inefficient and slow. Also save the cleaning until after closing. Shame as the food is good. Why it shuts so early in the day when the coast is still busy is very strange

Soy un habitual en esta tienda cuando visite la zona, tuve que pedir una carne baguette como habían acabaron de jamón. Sin embargo, me sirvieron primero y nos dijeron que esperar para baguettes, ya que estaban cocinando y otros dos clientes entraban y ordenados el mismo sandwich de ternera y prácticamente no había carne a la izquierda. Los dos clientes sirvieron antes de mí cuando me dijeron que esperar y me dieron la mayoría de la carne, y me quede con dos rodajas de 3 libras. 80 bocadillo! La chica adolescente que me atendió ni siquiera preguntar si quería mantequilla en mi baguette o cualquier otros ingredientes. Mi baguette estaba pasada y sin sabor, realmente decepcionado con la visita, ya que normalmente es genial.

Missed our train into the city so killed a little time and visited here. And omg the best baguette ive had in my life. It was mystic chicken or something. But tasted so good can you up sticks and relicate to kings lynn norfolk.

When heading for a coast drive,we always head for a filling station treat..it has every combination that you could think of and never disappointed.Due to location great to grab this treat and head to eat at longniddry bents.Would reccomend the tuna crunch or simple but delicious chicken and sweetcorn baguette..yummy

The only problem with this cafe is that it is so good you sometimes have to wait for a seat! But always worth the wait

Filling station it does exactly what it says on the sign! Fresh fillings lodes to choose from, the choices have you wondering for a while!! Beats bagette express any day of the week.. cheese burger bagette with fried onions,or fresh blt! Give it a try :)

what a place - happy friendly chatty staff who serve you with a smile and know exactly what all the ingredients are and fill your rolls to bursting point!!! Stop here as a treat on our holidays and the place is always busy but the service is quick.

I've been going to the Filing Station for a number of years but thought eventually I'd leave a wee review for the establishment on Trip Advisor. The ladies who serve are always helpful and chatty and they do a great job, the baguettes are always packed fulsome of great food and salad. The food is always fresh and tasty and from a personal perspective the arrival of the Filing Station in Longniddry several years ago filled a void and I would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone. You won't get baguettes or food like this anywhere else local, well apart from perhaps the other Filing Station in Prestonpans.Keep up the good work ladies and thank you from the Chilli Prawn Baguette man ;)

Literally the tastiest coronation chicken I've ever had. Generous portions - family happy and stuffed! Lovely people too.

Great little find, lovely ladies who serve you with a smile, nothing too much bother, you can make your own baguette or salad up, great if you have allergies. Would definitely recommend. Shame it is not open on a Sunday

its always a wee treat to have a takeaway snack from The Filling Station. The food is of high quality, the portions are generous & is excellent value for money.

Thank you to the lovely ladies who saved the day! After the Marathon we foolishly drove from the station with our boot open. We realised about it after driving for 5mins or so. A handbag had fallen out and the Filling Station staff saved the day by taking it in and keeping it safe. Thank you so much, will be sure to visit in the future!

Tasty tasty food! Baguettes are lovely, paninis are delicious! The staff really need to lighten up though, every time I go, they never smile, never engage in any chat, they are all like robots! I understand it's a busy shop but a smile and a hello goes a long way!

I used to love coming to this place for lunch, but on my last 3 visits the staff are very rude. On one instance the shop only had a couple of customers inside when I came in and plenty of staff. They all seemed to ignore me even when new customers came in they got served before. Eventually when one member of staff asked if I was being served and I replied no, all the others started talking about me. I could clearly hear them. This is a place I will not be returning to, especially when the one in Prestonpans is far more welcoming and friendly.

First of all I just want to say I absolutely love this place but I've literally just been and for some reason was given 3 quarters of a baguette. I was starving as well so I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed... For the most part this place is great but today I was quite upset! Keep the usually great work up though!

My golfing buddies and i never miss going in for a lovely choice of homebaking on our way to play golf down the coast.. Any one of the delicious scones is my favourite coupled with a good selection of hot drinks. The staff are all very chatty and you get the feeling that this is a well run local family business. Well worth a visit.

We were a group of 8, which the restaurant found very difficult to accommodate comfortably (most of the seating is in booth style). The service was very friendly.However the drinks were very slow to arrive. We had 1 child with us and her meal came about 10 mins after everyone elses - it had obviously been forgotten and then microwaved to reheat it. Some of the requests were forgotten (eg bacon on the mac and cheese) and some of the food wasn't very hot when it arrived.However it was all tasty and good value.

Friendly staff, big selection, good quality, fair prices. It is the ideal hunger stop take away. After this first visit, I will be back much more.

Worked in the area in 2009/10, and when I am in the area, I make sure I go to the filling station. Food is always great, never have I had a problem. The baguettes leave you feeling stuffed for hours!

Staying at Seton Sands Caravan park I looked to trip advisor to recommend a local eating place, the closest was this tiny take away sandwich shop.... and a well deserved recommendation. We went four days of our trip for our picnic supplies, the choice of sandwiches, fillings, cakes, scones etc were endless. If we lived closer we'd be here all the time and it will be a place to stop if we are in the area again.

Great baguettes, sandwiches, rolls, cakes and beveridges. The prices are very good and the fillings generous. Staff are friendly and very efficient. Great place to stop off on the way to the beach to pick up a quick fews things for a delicious picnic.

Take away food is excellent. Lots of choice. Quick service. Recently had a cream scone which was a bit dry, but that's first time that has happened.

I'm a regular customer/visitor to 'The Filing Station' and have never been disappointed with any of the food served. The staff are always friendly and the food fresh. The Chilli Prawn baguette is my particular favourite and the staff know this ;) The toffee lumpy bumpy is excellent, all hot food such as bacon/egg/haggis rolls etc are top class and if your in the area go here and you will be smiling from ear to ear that you have done so. Keep up the good work ladies and thank you for one of the best ideas to hit Longniddry.

If Carlsberg did baguettes......but they don't so the title of best baguette shop anywhere in the world goes to the Filling Station. Great choice of fillings, amazing cakes and scones, friendly staff. I'm already counting down the days until the Christmas baguettes go back on sale.

The takeaway chocolate or toffee lumpy bumpy pudding is to die for. Worth picking up if your passing.

A sub roll from here is a real experience. Freshly baked baguettes filled with delicious fillings and topped with every salad topping available. Delicious, only trouble is getting the gnashers around the roll :) coffee is also great, would eat here every day for lunch if lived closer. Try lumpy bumpy cake, especially chocolate variety. There is ALWAYS a queue despite lots of really brilliant staff, shows you how popular the place is. A quick trip down to Longniddry Bents is great place to enjoy your treats while looking out to the Forth.

Just had the most amazing carrot cake from the Filling Station. Fresh, moist and obviously home made. Brilliant!

Stopped of here a few times for lunch takeaway and it never fails to impress. The rolls and fillings are always nice and fresh and their selection of cakes, scones etc are a real treat. Staff are always pleasant and always smiling. They all work so hard and are packed at lunchtime which is always a good sign that the place is good. They also do the most delightful coffee and teas , during the summer months you can sit outside with your coffee and enjoy the sunshine. Always consistent and never disappoints.

I'm very fussy about my breakfast roll. I like REAL bread with a whiff of flour on the crust, I want crispy free range bacon that does not hang out but is evenly spread in the bun, and I need my egg to be fried in a way that the white is all hard but the yolk (that nice orange egg yolk that you know could only have come from free range chickens) is still runny in the middle. And this particular set up of a bacon and egg roll I can ALWAYS find in the Longniddry Filling Station. ...and this was only 1 type of breakfast roll, try the cheese scones or anything, really, you won't be disappointed.

Myself and colleagues use this shop on a regular basis. The selection of hot and cold products is excellent, all baked on the premsies and freshly prepared in front of you. The home made scones are just fab! Price wise very good with very good portions. A hard place to beat, hence there is almost always a queue.

best sandwich i have ever eaten, very clean, staff work very hard, only thing that puts me off is the parking(its right next to a round about and the train station ) so hard to get parked , and because of its popularity it always queued out the door! neverless i would still love a sandwich from there everyday!
