The fig tree in Islington

Dropped here for lunch, sandwich and drink for £9 or £11 for alcoholic drink. Staff great, great selection of wine by the glass, good beer selection and urged to try a new one. Food very good as was atmosphere.Toilets clean . Would come back if I was in the area.

Nice enough pub, but I didn't realise Roy Hodgson was wearing a long wig & working there these days, and had got incredibly miserable since he left Crystal Palace.

Great pub in an old police station. Nice outside are which I imagine gets very busy come the summer time. Popped in for a couple of drinks and was greeted by friendly staff. Stayed longer than intended due to the service of the staff

The lady who served us, I think her name is Pat, was really amazing. The food was great, quite warm environment and nice music.

Wow wow..... the food menu is certainly one to go back for. The fact that the menu is literally 1 A4 page means that everything is freshly cooked. We had Nduja Burger, The Unruly Burger and 28 Day Aged Flat Iron Steak.......amazing. Hopefully the new management will put The Fig Tree back on the map so to say. We'll done *****

The pub is very spacious and very clean. Well maintained. Food was looking so tasty and was very good. Good selection of beer and staff was so friendly. Recommend

My mum is in a wheelchair and this pub is so easy to get around. The staff are amazing, helpful and polite. The service is friendly and quick. My mum loves it and that is the highest compliment !

Came here for my work Xmas meal and it was not good. At all. I shall summarise as follows: Ordering - There were around 15 of us. We ordered in advance but had to go up and tell them what we had ordered one at a time, so what was the point in ordering in advance I wonder? This was very time consuming. Staff - the staff, while competent, looked so so so miserable, like this was the last place on earth they wanted to be. This did not go unnoticed by all of my colleagues. In fact I think we spent most of the night talking about how miserable and fed up the staff looked. Service - while delivering drinks at the bar was relatively quick - the food took ages to come out and everyone got served at different times. They were bringing out just one meal at a time. Some of us had finished by the time others got their food. Food was cold. I would have sent back if I was not in such a large group and I actually believed it would be sorted in a timely manner. Several colleagues also commented on their food being cold. Overall, a thoroughly disappointing experience. Needless to say, we will not be returning next year.

Fantastic atmosphere and customer service, bar staff and management are second to none…especially the guvnor Bliss! Really recommend a visit!

We’ll have used this pub for years not good service at the bar by Micheal plus you have to go outside for a smoke after 12.30 which is not good

I came off underground & didnt fancy cooking so thought Id try the fish & chips on the menu accompanied by a pint & were very pleased with price & quality of food. Only one person serving & she was very polite & friendly. I think more staff would of been better as the bar got fairly swamped around 18:00. My experience was good & recommend a visit in future 😁

Tried to book a table online for 10 people on a Sunday for a birthday lunch but had no response. Called in, in person & a booking was made. When we came in for booking no table was reserved for us & there was 1 person serving behind the bar with about 5 people waiting to be served. On listening to other people trying to order it appeared there was a lack of choice available. We ended up walking out with nothing alternative booked, luckily we were able to find availability in the Three Tunns. My dad who is disabled was meant to be with us but was unwell, so didn’t make it. If he was with us would have been very difficult to move him from one pub to another. Have been here before & have had no issues but my sister had a disappointing visit a couple of weeks ago. I don’t know if there’s been a change of management or staff but we won’t be visiting again for the foreseeable

This has been our regular for many years. Unfortunately within the last month things seem to have changed maybe after the new management /or several new staff members presence!!! They were not very hospitable and served like that they rather be somewhere else!! Unfortunately The perfect host lady Pat with her one liners and fabulous banter was not there 😞

Went for the first time on a Saturday and I really loved the vibe. Student discount on all alc, great foot variety and nice music. Def visiting more ofen from now on.

We visited today as our usual pub next door was fully booked. We had the chicken tray and the chef made it so perfect it was absolutely outstanding.. See you next week.

Pub opened again 28th September. Visited with work colleagues, staff friendly explained covid procedures on entering and adhered to at all times. Food good definitely worth a visit.

Visited for lunch with my wife. The food is excellent only supassed by the tremendous service received by the lovely Pat who told us she had been here for 20 years. I would highly recommend. We felt like we were home from home.

Ordered a few fish bites to nibble on as we were a bit peckish. When they arrived they were cold to tepid in the middle and wet so were undercooked. My mom asked for a refund as we didn't have much time and the barman (Patrick) rolled his eyes at her and huffed as if it is was our fault and we were being a nuisance. Not risking food poisoning just because he cant be bothered. Perhaps he should consider something different to a role that involves customer service and food safety.

Visited twice since opening ...First occasion got left to walk out after taking a seat and choosing what we wanted to eat, went to the bar and a guy said did you want to order and said yes please, he then replied there is around an hour wait, looking around the bar there was 3 other people in there so I said why is that he said there's no chef in today so the mangers in there, still couldn't get my head round why an hour when it was empty, hence the 4 of us went elsewhere. 2nd visit: Yesterday Partners food came out but not mine, his food was cold and asked of he had forgotten the other order to his reply was there was other orders in front but the order was on 1 bill! ...his attitude was horrendous, very rude and has no customer service skills, suggest if you don't want the job leave as there's plenty of people out there that will take it! Real shame after spending all that money...."Staff issues need addressing "!

Worst Sunday roast ever! The food took a long time to arrive and when it did, it was only warm. The meat and Yorkshire pudding were hard and they didn’t even have horseradish sauce.

This pub has a nice atmosphere, the food is probably best I have tasted in a pub, nice wine, reasonable prices and the Pat very friendly and accommodating. we will definitely be back for lunch when we are next in uxbridge.

Fig Tree looks fresh after refubrishment. This pub really needed it and they nailed it. They started doing live music and dj nights, the athmosphere is great! I will be coming back.

Won't be coming anymore, did a refurb decided to stop doing their most popular premium beers stella and San Miguel's now have to buy perroni and estrella at £5 a pint no season ticket greene king disgraceful!

Glad to be back after the completion of the nice refurbishment. We are the first customers today Thursday October 31, at 17:00. More varieties of drinks. New laminated floor ( oak effect ). Staff are good. The usual good service.

Kicked out during our annual family visit because my older brother had a cold! He was accused of taking drugs! Absolutely disgusted! No search, no reason and standing at the urinals, but the detectives were on it!

Me and a colleague come here twice a week for lunch. It's one of the better pubs in terms of food and certainly offers value for money when compared to nearby places. A lot more food for cheaper.

First time in Uxbridge and we decided to pop in due to the beautiful garden outside. Once inside we were greeted by a friendly lady behind the bar, very knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble at all considering she was managing the bar, bringing out food and arranging tables predominately by herself. Our food was ok typical pub food what you would expect. Will pop in again when in the area.

Went to the Fig tree with a friend for lunch. She took our order and said she would bring coffee over, 10 min later I reminded her I was still waiting. Our food arrived after around 40 min (salt beef toastie and seasonal fries). Only it was some off open sandwich, I explained there was a mistake with my order, the same miserable woman just slammed the fries (not seasoned) on the table then said she would take it back to the chef to redo, so instead of my meal arriving on one plate I ate the fried followed by my toastie 15 min later, I thought the least they could do for their mistake was give me fresh fries. While we were waiting someone who looked like a chef came out the kitchen in filly dirty uniform which he covered with a jumper, so lord only knows what the state the kitchen was in.

I've attempted to use this place twice in the past 6 months and both times have walked out. The first time was in January, when we had booked a table of 10 for a colleague's leaving do. When we arrived, the unsmiling, unhelpful woman behind the bar told us she had no knowledge of the booking. The bar was full, so they couldn't accommodate us. All forgiveable if delivered with a sincere apology, but it was delivered with a sneer and a shrug. Yesterday, I went again for another work do. The same woman had the same unpleasant, curt, off-hand attitude when I went up to order a round of cocktails. We left and went elsewhere. I simply refuse to put my money in the till of a bar that makes no attempt to make its customers feel welcome and valued.

The Fig Tree went down hill for a while but it has come back up. Decent drinks, food and atmosphere and the staff put a lot of effort in. Recommended.....

Been going there for ages and never been disappointed, food is always good, atmosphere is nice and the place and staff really nice. If around the area have a try as it’s always been a good choice for me.

Visited this bar for a drink and lunch with my partner. He ordered toasted sandwich, I ordered a sandwich. 45 minutes later food came up toasted sandwich so hard could not even break it!! It looked like a shoe sole. Took it back, no apology and offered a packet of crisps? If you fancy food in uxbridge do not go anywhere near this place.

Me and my long term partner Rob (recently adopted a young Chinese snooker prodigy) had a delightful meal. Unfortunately they put a speaker between me & my beloved whilst we were sharing a bottle of anniversary Malbec.

Called in about 6 on a Saturday having been up town to see some Art. I’m no snob but this place didn’t smell great. Yawning bar staff, tables stickier than a toffee apple in high summer. Beer eggy and short, which was a blessing as it turned out. Food.....? I’d need a stent fitting first to feel able to order something. Nothing resembled the photos on the greasy table menus. First pub I’ve been to where I cleaned my shoes on the way out. Ye gods.

I went to The Fig Tree in Uxbridge today and ordered burger and chips; never again. Firstly burger was nothing like shown advertised on menu. Also chips pathetic amount and not warm. No gherkins, relish and onion rings...duh. And fried egg well undercooked - egg white like jelly. Lovely. Onion rings came 20 mins later 3 of them. Are you guys serious. I’ve been once before an no problem. This time a complete an utter disaster. I won’t bother coming again.

Not often one to complain. However, the bar staff were on the border of rigamortis. Our roast dinners took the longest time to be served. Had to ask for the table to be cleaned. Food was cold, (Not even warm). Tasteless, insipid and well over priced. Not worth a wet wank on a winters day. You would get better from a slop trough

I booked a table for 10 as a celebration of a new venture based on a taste session we had in The Mall before Christmas. A big mistake as the food served last night was usual pub grub no more. No sirloin steaks. Lasagna served cold. I could say more, but I’m thankful we were in high spirits (not alcohol) to not the dampen the night

First time in here. Quite Monday afternoon ( around 16:30 ) Being after the new year , run out of Hooch ( alcoholic lemonade ) so as a compromise we settled for Thatchers Haze ( cider ) , not to my taste. Staff are good.

Firstly you have to feel for the barmaid , 1 person on to serve all on a busy week. No wonder she was snappy and not friendly. Ordered food , approx 15 minute wait, average for a pub. Took 1 hour and 15 mins to serve up a sandwich that was dry , which I presume had been laying around in the heat. No butter on the sandwich, cheese minimum. You could not pick the sandwich up, as it just fell apart in your hand. Glasses, cutlery and the plates were not clean. Not a good experience and I would not return.

Friendly atmosphere in the pub, lots of tvs to watch the football, food was cheap and of good quality despite the chef having a 40 minute sleep in between our starter and main course majority of bar staff were helpful apart from the older lady who was very rude, when I went to the bar to order my dessert she replied “there’s always bloody 1” which was uncalled for I only ordered strawberry ice cream!

Haven't been gere for years and thought we would pop in for a quick drink. Waited ten minutes before being served, wasn't even acknowledged beforehand and the woman serving us (Landlady?) just kept chatting (and swearing) with a mate the whole time. Sat down at a sticky table that hadn't been cleaned. Drank our drinks then left. Won't be going back.

Some idiot has cut down the fig tree. It survived the drought and was covered in figs and now it's been butchered, WHY???? It looks DREADFUL. Who ever it was, you've ruined on of the few mature trees in the area.

Great pub very lively but 1 bouncer too big for his boots we go there occasionally but last night son went there on a separate table with his friends as he was going to the toilet he was coughing then the next minute the bouncer told him to leave with no reason , so rather than argue as there's point he asked can he use the toilet first then if there is a problem he'll leave, obviously the bouncer in his dumb brainless attitude just repeated on leave, so he went to get his stuff from the table and say to his group he leaving the bouncer kept pushing him to leave even though he was, I have heard this bouncer keeps doing this to people what is he after a back hander for someone to stay or is he trying to pick on someone to cause a fight, my son doesn't like confrontation and has never had issues here before and if I had know at the time of this I would have seen the manager myself, this pub doesn't need the old fashioned style neanderthal bouncers who if you're a good enough boss can see they are at some point looking for trouble

Been going to the Fig Tree for years, and every time I take friends as I know they will never be disappointed. The food has always been good and the atmosphere is nice with an outdoor seating area when the weather is good.

Had a meal here and although we had to wait a while to be served due to the amount of people it was well worth it. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere.

This place is so cool-looking on the outside with ivy growing, a porch, and outdoor tables. Stopped in for dinner and was craving a burger, so ordered the Dirty Dip and a mixed drink (not a beer drinker, but everyone else seemed to be enjoying it!). Pub is spacious with plenty of seating and tvs - ordered at the bar and it seemed like it was on the table in no time at all. Hadn’t realized the burger would be on toasted bread (vs. bun), but my disappointment disintegrated as soon as I bit into it! It was fantastic with bacon and cheese and a side pot of beef dripping gravy!! The fries were perfectly done and great for dipping. There was a small side coleslaw which was also great. Others enjoyed the chicken and mushroom pie, and the chicken platter with wings, nuggets and Louisiana chicken strips. Portion sizes were perfect. There are a few parking spots nearby for free on Sundays. Would definitely come again as there were so many tempting dishes on the menu.

Used to be a police station now a mediocre Greene King pub with bland GK beer. Food more or less the same as the pub nearby of the same pub chain. TV's for main sports events. Needs an overhaul and some drinkable real ale. Good pub to walk past and avoid. Outside area.

Came here while waiting on a taxi and had a quick drink. I was served really quickly and it was nice and warm in here. The smoking area looked busy too

Kitchen was closed for the day so can't comment on the food. Bar is definitely a local, and has a rather tired feel about it. Two real ales on hand-pull, although mine was rather cloudy, but just about acceptable. On the positive side, the bar staff were very friendly

Nada especial, pero la comida es buena. Zona exterior para beber que es comprensiblemente popular. Variedad de cerveza es Greene King uno de 3 en 90 metros. Buena selección de vinos. Un bar pub. Los otros dos bares en la calle windsor están mucho mejor. El personal era agradable y bueno para el deporte de televisión.

So we live locally and thought we would come in for a drink and a bite - 5pm.. "Is your kitchen open" a guy named Chris replies "I don't think so and I ain't bringing food out, that's long" My friend ordered a pitcher of Long Island Ice Tea, which then had sambuca in, I asked the landlady to change it and her reply was "I made it to spec" which I then replied "there's no sambuca in the spec" then huffed and made a new one, she was extremely rude to the customer next to me who only said "you can smell the sambuca" and to my SHOCK she replied "I don't need you to tell me what to do" If this is their customer - the hospitality industry is done for

Como siempre, donde es posible, probar un buen pub por la calidad de su pescado y patatas fritas y, bueno, este Error. El pub es bastante en el exterior, bueno, limpio acogedora decoración interior y el personal amable. El buen ambiente y familiar situado en un escondido lane cerca de las principales zonas de compras. Tiene acceso para sillas de ruedas y un pequeño jardín. Fuimos un sábado por el almuerzo, pero pronto la discreta música de fondo fue invadida por las televisiones de deportes en volumen en ruidoso, tanto ruido que lo tuvimos que trasladar a otra parte del edificio. Nuestros vasos no fueron perfectamente limpia, pero para mí, mientras que parecía muy bien presentado, el pescado y patatas fritas fue una decepción. Aceite se inundó a la cima de la pasta no es tan fresco como usted cortados. Patatas fritas que han venido de una pizzería local "fish and chips" y los guisantes blandos sabía a que vengan de puede (y puede haber hecho). No es una terriblemente mala experiencia pero no un lo recomendaría.
