Absolutely stunning food, some of the best we have had. Drinks are very strong so you definitely get your moneys worth!

Had a friend visiting the area who couldn't wait to go to the beach so, after a stroll along the promenade we called into The Fig. They confirmed we could take our little dog in (to the rooftop area). The sun was shining and it was teatime so it was the perfect setting & view. Ordering was easy via the QR code on the table. Seats were comfy and not to crammed in. The food was amazing when it came out. Good portion size a fantastic flavours. I would have also sampled the cocktails...but I was driving! Next time I'll take the hubby and he can drive lol. Service was excellent too. Very friendly staff.

Greek lasagne, monty burger, piggy back jack burger, halloumi were all delicious 😋 we'll enjoyed every last morsel. Would definitely recommend 👌🏾

Came upon this restaurant while on holiday and had lovely lunch there. I had chicken gyros and partner had classic beefburger. Both came with fries and were very tasty, staff very friendly and helpful and they also have a rooftop dining area. Would highly recommend. Good value for money.

Absolutely top drawer establishment. Rooftop bar for perfect scenery main restaurant downstairs was very luxurious. Food was amazing and can't fault the service. All staff were friendly and approachable and very happy to help

Very impressed with The Fig, first time visiting while on holiday in the area and was so happy we discovered this place. Lovely decor, very clean and friendly staff. The food although at first glance seems to be a little pricey it is definitely worth it. The portions were huge. The pizza and loaded fries were banging. The mixed Gyros was delicious, fresh and again the portion was huge. I would not hesitate to revisit or recommend this establishment. If the weather was nicer we would have sat on the rooftop terrace which looks lovely. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We called in without a reservation on a Saturday evening and the managed to find us a table for three. The waitresses were welcoming and helpful. The food was delivered quickly and the portions were very good. My partner is coeliac so we asked if they had a gluten free menu. We were told everything on the menu nearly could be made gluten free. All round a fantastic dinning experience.

Went here with a large group, they were accommodating to all dietary restrictions we had (vegan, vegetarian, dairy free, gluten free), and a great location at Gorleston on the sea. Will be back when we take another trip here!

Stumbled upon this restaurant today, family of 4, with a child with a nut allergy. They couldn’t have been more accommodating, we were offered inside seating or the roof terrace. The terrace had amazing views, excellent service and brilliant food. The chicken gyro was a massive portion with authentic tasting Greek food, I had “the chick” burger again a plentiful portion size. There was also a rooftop bar, We will definitely return, it is a gem on the seafront 🇬🇷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Shannon and Lia were fantastic on the rooftop, Shannon made me a really good Amaretto sour and Lia was super attentive and friendly! Great chemistry and teamwork from them both!

Just been for a evening meal. Had heard really good things about the food so was hopeful for a good night. First impressions weren't great when we turned up and as a couple and we're seated in a corner behind a large table and couldn't get in without having to ask the staff to move the table even then it was extremely tight. The main meal was ok the burgers were lovely however sadly the desert seemed severely undercooked, it said it was a brownie but was basically a brownie batter just sloppy. Really disappointing and I absolutely hate complaining and if I felt I had the opportunity I would have spoke to the staff but it was so busy we asked for the bill and no one came back so we ended up grabbing anyone to pay the bill and left.

Always an excellent experience at The Fig! Food is fantastic, service is brilliant, friendly and fast - food is so prompt at arriving at your table. Can never fault this place!

Seriously let down. Look, when we arrived the place was very busy so we fully expected to wait. We were sat in a very nice conservatory room which had plenty of room for all 6 of us. We ordered drinks and meals and to be fair it wasn't too long before they began to arrive. The food for four of us (2 adults,2 kids) arrived and it was generally quite good, but then the problems started. A full 30 minutes later all four of us had finished yet two adults were still waiting for the chicken kebabs. I myself am an executive chef and I have worked to a very high standard of cooking with Michelin star chefs Tom Shepherd, Glynn Purnell and Gary Rhodes. I did not expect Michelin Star food- but I do expect the head Chef to command the kitchen. And basic table checkbacks from the front of house team. And smiles. One of the primary things regarding service in my opinion is to NEVER send any food until everything else is ready- unless requested. And to fully communicate with your guests. To send 4 meals then not even communicate with the given table for 40 minutes is nothing short of pathetic. So after 30 minutes we asked the waitress where our food was- and she absolutely seemed to not care less. She actually made us feel that it was our fault with her attitude. Once again- I know the place was busy- but we were spending a lot of money so expected good service. Eventually a further 10 minutes later we were told that our kebab would be another 15 minutes as they had to change the meat. Then 10 minutes later we were finally bought out one kebab! When we asked where the other one was the waitress once again blankly queried what we were talking about??? In the meantime another girl came to us and asked us if we now wanted to Cancel our '2 pork kebabs'? What an absolute time consuming mess- which if somebody had taken correct control would never of happened. We paid for our meals in the end- even though we didn't even get to eat together as a family and you gave my partner and her sister a mini bottle of prosecco to say sorry. Fortunately for you I had removed myself from the situation- as I intended to not pay a penny , but working in the industry I fully understand how things can go horribly wrong like they did. Please if anything work on this for the future. You never know who you are serving so please treat everybody with the same respect no matter how hard it gets.

Had a lovely meal sat on the roof of the Fig. Service upstairs is all done via a QR code on your table and the food was brought up quickly. Really happy with my meal and the price was very reasonable for the amount there was. I had the Pork Gyros as the kitchen advised there was a small wait on chicken dishes which was very good of them to inform us and it made me try a slightly different meal which I am pleased about as the pork was lovely. My son ate from the kids menu and as you can see in the picture there was a substantial amount, he loved it. My wife ate BBQ loaded fries and she very much enjoyed it. We will be back!

Food was OK but not as good as last visit. We got the hint they wanted us to leave when they started the hoover up ( about 9 30 ish).! Too many chips now for my liking. Wasn't a bad meal but not as good as I remembered

Our first time eating at this restaurant. My wife had chicken gyro and I had mixed Souvlaki. Food was excellent. Better back ground music could have been played.

Visited for a family get together and meal. I had the smoked salmon salad. Salmon was beautifully cooked and very tasty.

Food was really good, it came out quickly and was nice and hot and plenty of it. The drinks were quite slow we had a our food and was halfway though eating before we got our drinks.

What a little gem and a break from usual seaside fare. EXCEPTIONAL staff, quickly served, and beautiful generous plates of Greek food. Well worth a visit.

1st time ordering for home delivery and was not up to standard that is served in the restaurant. I ordered chicken gyro salad but instead of gyro meat was sent a cut up chicken breast. Very disappointed as normally really enjoy the food. Delivery took nearly 1 hour 30 minutes which again was disappointing as stated 25-30 minutes when ordering.

Ordered food for delivery at 7pm. Still hadn't arrived by 9pm. Went to the restaurant and they didn't apologise, just said that it went out for delivery "16 minutes ago". When I asked if they could contact the driver, they said "we are a bit busy". Phone line didn't work for the 2 hours. Appalling and just rude service. Wouldn't recommend

I was disappointed that I had booked a certain table in the conservatory part of the restaurant for my party of 7 a couple of weeks ago only to get there and find people sitting at the table I had booked and i didn't think the matter was delt with well at all which is such a shame as the food was good and staff were friendly.

We visited this place back in 2021 during our honeymoon and the food was fantastic. We were in the area recently with a 6 month old baby in tow and thought let's see if it's as good as it was back in 2021. Food was amazing! Portions are massive. It may appear abit pricey at first but the food is top notch quality. I don't mind paying money if the food is going to be great. I'm so glad this place is still in business and still keeping very high standards. When we are next in gorleston we will pop in again!

The calamari meal was not worth my time and revenue. I had a birthday celebration for one of my dear friends, for which we went on a holiday escape to the coast. This night as the big celebration, we were aiming for a pricey but still manageable place to celebrate. The fig restaurant was what we chose in the end. As a pescatarian, being near the coast is amazing. However, my happiness would have been overcasted by the fig. They only had one fish dish and two shellfish dishes. Evidently, the menu is online, but seeing it now, it has been updated since then. I fancied some calamari, already knowing that it might be a smaller portion, but seeing that it was £18.25 I thought it would be a bit bigger. As they served my calamari they first forgot the fries that came with it. I had to ask if it did come with chips (which it did), whereupon they took my plate back and added less than a handful of fries. Secondly, a depressing salad which they called their signature dressed salad (which if it is a greek salad, would not have lettuce in it). And finally, 8 tiny calamari pieces that were deep fried with sauce. The food was okay, but I am not content with the whole delivery and value. The starter calamari, which would be 4 pieces without the salad and fries, was half the price of the meal:£9.25. To get my craving of calamari I would have rather gotten the starter, and tasted some (tiny bit) of the ocean, and would have gotten a pizza, gyro, or anything else to fill me up. Now I have left with my stomach half full and an annoyance. I would have paid more for the pizza and a calamari starter, but it would have been more worth my money than the dish that was served to me. With a small cocktail costing £9 I came out to £27.50 which, again, would have been fine if I was satisfied, which I was NOT. cocktail 3/5 servers 4/5 food 2/5

First time and probably the last time I will eat there. My wife asked for calamari as her main meal. What they brought out was 4 over cooked pieces of calamari. My wife declined the food but the manager (complete fool btw) refused to take it back. Then my nephew nearly choked on a large piece of plastic packaging that was in his food. When the manager was summoned, his first words were 'Anymore water anyone?' You just have to be kidding!!!! The food was hardly 'Greek' either. French fries? Lettuce as a salad? A pile of overcooked meat?

They have nailed the interior, very thoughtfully done and such an improvement to the restaurants that have been there before and so nice to see it busy. But the service was slow and a bit dithery, ran by teenagers. The food was very average but not averagely priced.

Love the Fig. Amazing delicious food! Meat is always fresh, well seasoned, and a big portion. Gyro, Souvlaki, Calamari... it's like you're almost in Greece. Missing just the Paralia 😆

Service good, polite and friendly ,good atmosphere busy night .Sadly we were disappointed with the mixed Souvlaki .The main part of the dish is the chicken & Pork skewers or rather the lack of it .The meal consisted of 7 small pieces of cubed meat in total of which one was grisle and unedible .My wife had the same dish of which she was served a similar size portion of meat which is a real shame, The mountain of chips and salad cannot make up for it the lack of meat I cannot recommend the dish disappointed im afraid .

As a local who’s been coming here for several years, I must say my most recent visit on a bank holiday was highly disappointing. The ‘New’ Website Ordering: The new ordering system on the website is poorly designed. I ordered a chicken gyro and was presented with options to add or remove items. The first category, which isn’t very clear, is for removing items. This system gives you 3 points to distribute across the following options: • No Salad • No Sauce • No Chips Considering this is a point system, you can select “no salad” three times. This results in users assuming they are adding, not removing items. After all, how can you remove an item three times? The Food: The food has always been very flavorful, which is what you’d expect given the price. However, since my last visit, something has clearly changed. The portion sizes before 2024 were excellent. The food was somewhat expensive but you received a good amount. This has now changed drastically. I’d say the portion size has dropped by at least 60%, and at £16 for a chicken gyro, it’s unacceptable. Additionally, the food came out cold, which has never happened before. I’m a 23-year-old male who’s not far off being underweight according to the NHS, I walked out hungry after eating the whole meal. The chicken portion could fit within the palm of one hand! My order was incorrect (or correct, depending on how you interpret the website design), which was resolved. However, it was highly concerning as it was evident they scraped off the item I asked to be removed. Due to this, I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you have any major allergies. Final Thoughts: I will be returning as I’ve had some incredible experiences in the past. However, my next visit will determine whether I continue to come back regularly. I hope the manager acknowledges this review and looks into resolving these issues. The website should be a priority, as it’s a simple fix that needs to be implemented.

Sent a pink burger out instead of sweet potato fries over 30 mins late never again

Came on recommendation without booking on a late Friday afternoon. Sun was out so sat on the upstairs terrace with a nice view. Portion sizes were a good size and tasty. Prices were as we expected all in all a nice experience, however… it was QR code ordering and this wasn’t that straight forward with a default to a 10% service charge and ordering of an extra glass of wine. I’m not sure if the QR ordering was throughout the restaurant or just on the terrace. The 10% default charge was a tad annoying as we ordered and did that side of it. However the food was good so if I could give 4.5 stars I would

First time ordering and the food was lovely. The food was hot and full of flavour. Only thing I would say is the salad wasn't nice as it was in with the hot food.

Got to be one of the worst bits of food that has ever entered my mouth wheather spoons is better please believe that when I said I wasn't happy with the food they replied well its cooked fine as we do it in the microwave and the prices are crazy if your thinking of going here don't they cant cook take ages then they charge you through the nose for it

We stopped here for dinner. My wife had there hot pizza which she said was very fiery with lots of chilli. I had there kebab platter for one which was served with warm pitta and fries and was very tasty. We had cocktails as well and these were mixed to perfection.

We had a wonderful 4 hours at the fig, the sharing platter was amazing! The staff were polite and patient with our late guest, the cocktails while waiting were second to non, according to one of my guests " the best she ever had" the food was amazing, but the stuff made us feel so content and welcome, while we waited for our late arrival, we also had a one year old, whom they made feel just as welcome, we even had a complimentary cocktail! Amazing staff, manager, chef, atmosphere! Thank you ! 10 out of 10

Lovely restaurant on the beach front. The decor is tastefully done, the atmosphere is pleasant. A great menu including several vegetarian options. Kids menu is good - pizza and chips portion size is ideal and the kids enjoyed it. Recommend the loaded fries to share. Pizza lovers should try one from the menu. Cocktails lovers should do the same :) Staff were very friendly and hosted a good experience all in.

very nicely laid out restaurant with excellent service the lady with long brown hair didnt a wonderful job, didnt get a chance to catch her name but she was very attentive. Burger was absolutely devine!

The best food for miles. Had the calamari and my wife had the greek lasagne. Both were amazing. Kids choices are great too. The red wine was particularly good and after googling the bottle of red we had, it was really good wine. Never had greek food before but we 100% will after visit The Fig. The baklava with cream was a revelation! Staff were lovely and let us take a look up on the roof terrace which looks fantastic, but sadly we visited on a wet and windy day in march, so it wasn't open. But the view was amazing.

Found thanks to Google, but WHAT A FIND ! Walked in without a reservation and as it was quiet we were accommodated immediately.Lovely girl showed us to a quiet area for our privacy. We knew what we wanted to eat as we love Greek food - chicken Gyros every time ! Waiter took the order and returned in ten minutes with the food and My ! What food ! Every mouthful was delicious!! Cannot give these enough stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Service was great. Quick and polite, which was nice, but possibly too quick....read on. The place is clean with a friendly atmosphere. Food was only an OK from us though. This style of food should be awash with good quality fresh salad and vegetables (instead of lots of chips), but there was just a little bit of chopped salad. The meat didn't seem particularly good quality and was somewhat dry, slightly fatty and not as tasty as I expected it to be. The flat breads were a bit tasteless with a slight old sock smell. There's a new place in Lowestoft old high street that knocks the socks off this place in comparison, for similar prices. Maybe an old codgers personal choice but my IPA beer was served iced cold like lager which wasn't enjoyable for me (just room temperature please). To me, it looks like the kitchen is too small for the restaurant and probably they prep too much in advance reducing the freshness and taste but decreasing wait times? More fresh salad and veg is needed to put some colour (and taste) on the plate. Not many had a sweet but the vegan in the party ordered Gateau and ice-cream as the menu said vegan option available. What they didn't say was they would charge an extra £1 for the vegan ice-cream!!! This sort of thing means the vegan won't return and therefore as a group neither will we. Generally it's OK here, you probably won't hate it but you probably won't love it either. They all work hard and are nice people. I wanted to love it but was left slightly disappointed by my visit. Shame.
