Chose this spot for a midweek birthday meal and thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks. The tapas was delicious. When I booked online I mentioned that it was my wife's birthday and they brought out a wee dessert treat with a candle. Great friendly service.

If you are looking for a Birthday Party venue, look no further! Our friends and family were treated to one of the best nights out ever. The food was simply fantastic and as we had booked the whole restaurant the venue was bespoke to our event. It wasn't just the food, which was to 'die for' the service was really, really excellent so full marks to the owner, Kelly, for the training she obviously gave to her staff. Nothing was a problem. Relaxed atmosphere even although the Selkie was full and busy. As you can tell I can't praise the Ferry Selkie more highly and I would recommend a visit anytime. Thanks again Kelly.

This was our anniversary meal .our problem was not the food which was great it was the menu. We didn't really understand what we were ordering even after an explanation by the waitress which was a bit disconcerting. Assuming that customers have eaten tapas style before is an important oversight by the proprietors. Whilst we are not young we are not at the president biden stage yet and a simple written explanation at the start of the menu would have saved us both feeling foolish. The service was friendly and good as was the food however there was no actual dessert/ coffees menu as such to tempt us although we were asked if there was anything else. I hope this is taken as constructive criticism and not an actual complaint.

Struggling to find football free dining! Lucky we managed to get a table at short notice. We cannot eat huge meals anymore so tapas suits us. We ordered three tapas dishes, prawns piri piri were excellent and the potatoes, not Patatas bravas, were different and tasty. Baked Camembert to die for had to get more of the delicious bread to finish it. Not the usual tapas dishes all are delicious with a twist although the usual suspects are there, try something different you will not be disappointed. Wine list good too, you will get something to your liking. Service as you expect from the Selkie was perfect, helpful and attentive. Only complaint was tipping on bill, I decide on how much to tip, being presented with a card machine showing different tipping rates was irritating, service is excellent from well trained staff there is no need list tips on machine. I left tip in cash although the staff do get the tips put on the bill. We avoid nearby restaurants who have this practice too

First time visit the Ferry Selkie having been to the one in Dundee a few times before. Food was lovely and service was good. The mezze and platter was delicious. The only downside was the amount of time allocated to tables. We were informed the table would be required back after an hour and a half. My preference at tapas restaurants is to be able to order bits and pieces as you go but we had to leave before we could order more. We ended up going somewhere else for more food.

Just visited the Culbokie Inn and I'm absolutely thrilled to share my experience! The star of the show was undoubtedly their Wagyu bacon cheeseburger - it was simply brilliant. The quality of the ingredients shone through, with the rich, flavorful Wagyu beef perfectly complemented by crispy bacon and melted cheese. The service was fantastic, with a special shout-out to Amy, our waitress, who did a sterling job. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor really enhanced our dining experience. The staff's welcoming attitude made us feel right at home from the moment we stepped in. The menu offers a great selection, catering to various tastes and dietary requirements. While we focused on the burgers this time, I noticed they also serve excellent steaks, fish, and chicken dishes, all cooked to perfection according to other diners. The atmosphere in the inn is cozy and inviting, perfect for a relaxing meal. It's clear why both locals and tourists alike flock to this gem on the NC500 route Overall, the Culbokie Inn is a must-visit destination for anyone in the area. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for a meal - you won't be disappointed! I can't wait to return and try more items from their menu.

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

The staff was helpful and very friendly. Even though we slept above the pub and there was a party we managed to sleep there. The room was spacious and clean, classic furnishings, quite comfortable mattress. The bathroom ok. Private parking.

This was a lovely experience, the food was not ' swimming in grease' as i saw from another review, but it was great to see that the more recent reviews have been validated. We went here for my birthday at the end of october and honestly everything was really lovely . the service was great they were so friendly from the getgo, the charcuterie board we had for starter was very filling and diverse just wish they would have told us what the cheeses were ( i think the brie was from tain though it was familair) but thats a minor niggle that we had no info. the main courses were fab the skin on chips were AMAZING , and its a dog friendly place which we loved , we dont have dogs but we did get to pet some which made our day !
