This place is such a great find! From the street you have no idea what you are walking in too! It is a big place with lots of different spaces, including a really lovely outdoor area overlooking the river, which we enjoyed for a long time despite it being October! The staff were very friendly & welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. We ate dinner here & the menu was really varied. The gluten free options were great & clearly labelled, and as a coeliac it was very reassuring chatting to the staff about what was safe. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon/evening, we will definitely be back!

We visited last night and enjoyed the whole experience. The food ( sea bream & the chicken&chorizo tagliatelle) was superb. That followed the chickpea and tahini pate starter which we shared, the flavours were amazing and the cider chutney will be on our shopping list. We finished the meal with the blueberry frangipan with cream...wow! The evening was made all the better by the professionalism and personality of our waitress(unfortunately we didnt get her name) . We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends. Thank you to the team.

In the area on holiday, walking dog on beach and decided to eat before going back to bungalow. Quick search revealed the FERRY INN . Very polite staff who were more than happy to accommodate us as walk ins with a very damp dog . Well what can I say food was fantastic , seafood platter as a sharer and Welsh steak for me . Got to say the food was great but the peppercorn sauce was perfection itself . Great views as well.

There is nothing I can say to improve on our experience of dining at this excellent establishment! The location is stunning, right on the River Teifi. Out of season, it's possible to park in the road even if the tiny car park is full. The staff are friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food that we had was delicious - sea bass & sticky toffee pudding for my friend, rump Welsh Black steak & blueberry frangipane tart for me. The Malbec was served at the perfect temperature. I was treated by my friend, so I don't know the bill total, but she didn't faint! Whatever it cost, it was well worth every penny - thank you, chef!

Great food and excellent service. We were staying in a local B&B and listed in the recommendations list to eat out is The Ferry Inn. We checked out the menu and booked to eat @6.30pm. We managed to park in the restaurants car park and on entering, we were greeted with a warm welcome and introduced to our server for the evening, Georgia. Drinks were ordered and we were given plenty time to make our choices. Skipping starters after seeing the dessert menu, we plumped for a steak for my wife and the Seafood Tagliatelle for me. Both dishes cooked from fresh, it’s so obvious with the quality of the ingredients used. The Blueberry Frangipane to follow is a must. With great food you need great service to match and that we certainly had, Georgina was busy with a full room, but never flustered, always smiling, giving us time and space to enjoy our meal, never rushed. A lovely evening, Thankyou

Came for Sunday lunch. One pork roast, which I thought would come with pork slices but actually was two pork steaks, which where a little too dry but nicely seasoned. One beef roast which looked lovely. Again beef was slightly over done but again nicely seasoned, no proper roast potatoes more roasted new potatoes which where slightly hard. Veg was cooked beautifully and Yorkshire was lovely. Fish basket was a good portion size and very tasty, childrens portion of fish fingers and chips was a hearty portion and good value. Highly recommend the chocolate brownie and ice cream gor pudding. Staff are super friendly and polite. Has wonderful views.

Ate here this evening - never had a risotto made with long grain rice not arborio (risotto) rice before. Not sure how they got that so spectacularly wrong! Seafood in my partner's Seafood Tagliatelle was from the freezer, not fresh. We booked to eat because we'd heard the Manager describing it as a 'gastro pub' when we called in earlier in the week for a drink. It's absolutely not. Honeslty stopped here for a meal after a busy day out not really knowing what to expect as we don't know the area. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!! The food was exceptional, to be honest it's the best meal I've had in a long time and I feel like I've robbed them for what they charge. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection, there chef has the most essential skill in the industry to be able to cook with love! I had the seafood feast which was mouthwatering tasty and cooked to perfection. My partner had the scampi and absolutely loved it and couldn't believe the portion size. Our kids both had a kids burger and my god as my littlest one couldn't finish it all, I tried a bit and as far as burgers go it's the best thing I've ever tasted the only way you could get fresher is if you handled the cow your self! The waiting staff are a credit to the industry, not a single one of them looked out of place or like they didn't want to be there or were just there for a pay check. They were all smiles, pleasant and very erlcoming. There a credit to the business. The owner was welcoming and seemed like she genuinely cared about her guests, she was a lovely women and I wish and hope all the best for her in the future as I myself know how cut throat this industry can be! If we're ever in the area again we will defiently be returning, honestly can't recommend enough! Thank you all for an amazing experience

Looking at their menu, you can tell it's a more pricey restaurant. The wife and I only wanted fish and chips - but they don't do this. They do however do (unbattered) fish with about six other items, but while I'm sure many others would be willing to pay the price, we weren't. The staff there are very friendly and helpful, and suggested we had a kids meal, which was Cod Coujons with Chips and a choice of Salad, Beans, or Peas. This was a very big kids meal, was very reasonably priced - and delicious. I'm sure all the food is as nice. There's a lovely view of St Dogmaels, and the restaurant inside is lovely.

I very rarely write poor reviews but this needs to be said. We went for lunch today after a local friend recommended for us to visit. My husband ordered a burger and found a slug (alive) under the bread!!! We told the staff who told us it was potentially from the locally sourced salad!! I did mention that if that had been the case the salad clearly hadn’t been washed which was a huge concern considering I’d ordered the chicken salad & I’m pregnant!! Disappointed to say the least! The staff were very understanding and pleasant about the situation. As we did leave one of the female chefs had long ponytail hair I was surprised wasn’t in a hairnet for hygiene purposes! Such a shame because it’s in a lovely location!

We had a wonderful view of the river from our table. The menu was not extensive. Five of us wanted the chicken and liver pate - sadly we were told that only three portions were available. Just as some of us had made a different choice we were told that, in fact, there were only two portions of the chicken and liver pate left. This seemed to cause a certain amount of hilarity among the people who were giving us the information. The next best choice was a chick pea pate. I have always understood that a pate is smooth but the chick peas came more or less whole. The appley chutney that came with it was very nice and there was a bit of salad. As I was coming to the end of my starter, eating the last bits of my salad I realised that there was a live worm on my plate! Luckily I am not of a particularly squeamish nature - however, that worm should not have been there. Some of my friends promptly left what they had of their starters as they has no wish to find another live creature. When our waiter arrived I pointed out that there was a live worm on my plate - there was an apology but no plate removal at that point. She did say that the salad had been washed 4 times, not washed enough in my opinion. When she came back to take my plate we asked if she had reported the worm and she said she had. I was also told that the salad was 'local' [so obviously the worm had not had too far to travel and was probably in good health - for a worm!] and it was 'organic'. I did not feel that any of these bits of information were pertinent. No-one from any sort of management came to see me to apologise. When the sweet menu arrived we were informed that, yet again, there were some sweets that were 'unavailable'. When the bill arrived my wormy starter was there in full priced glory. Only after some protest was the offending starter removed from the bill. My group was told that the young waiter had to make the decision on her own as there was no-one on duty from the management. The following day I wrote to the owners of the restaurant - names found on the internet. I explained what had happened, I gave my name, address and email and I have given the owners over a week to reply to my complaint but I have heard nothing. I am not impressed. This whole evening has left a very sad impression of The Ferry Inn. It is a place where I have eaten on a number of occasions but I will do so no longer. A shame as it is local to me [but I suspect the worm was more local]. The owners obviously are not too bothered by my letter - perhaps they feel I am making a lot of fuss about nothing. However, when I pay almost £8 for a starter to a meal I would like the chance to eat what I choose and not to have extra bits of protein wriggling about on my plate, despite how local and organic they may be.

The kids food was shocking, the chicken goujons were overcooked, the kids burger had a very weird texture. We had the seafood basket, when paying £23 a dish I expect better than oven chips. The nail in the coffin was when presented with the bill. Two adults meals and two children's meals three Pepsi's and two lagers came to £86 which I think is ridiculous. They charged £6.80 for a pint of Morreti which is extortionate will definitely not be going back

Took a chance on getting a meal on a Friday evening and arrived as the place began serving food. Few people there but.. It was early, all tables had reserved signs on them except a small few. We were placed on a table that had only a window to separate us from the estuary but have a stunning view of that scene. Food and drinks ordered to a pleasant staff member and drinks were very quickly brought by another lovely staff member. Food cooking have is enough time to have a closer look at the scene. Food then arrived, nicely presented and full of flavour and hot... Just as it should be. Felt indulgent today so took a dessert. Lovely food but over £70 for main course, dessert and a drink for two people was a bit steep in my view. Then came a challenge.. toilets! Toilets were clean and fresh but found down a few sets of steps and quite obscure.. Not easy or possible for some less mobile. Food choices were sufficient and there are choices for vegetarians. Parking in an old fishing village is not good.. There are the spaces in a private carpark for patrons otherwise you battle with local residents. A week worthwhile visit and one I am glad I made.

Had a very nice Sunday lunch here today with exceptional service from Ella! The belly pork was phenomenal, I would definitely recommend it. Brownie was one of the nicest ones I've had. The drinks were also lovely, and they met any requests we had which were never made out to be a fuss during what was quite a busy service - including having my chair swapped out as it was a bit uncomfortable for me. The only very small thing I would say was a negative was that there was lots of beetroot (which I hate) on the roast which was unusual and it went all over the food due to the nature of it, however now that know I know that, I will ask for it without next time! We will definitely be back and will be excited to try what they do on their Monday-Sat menu.

We fancied going out for dinner on the last night of our great stay in St Dogmaels. The Ferry Inn had been recommended to us. We rang to book at short notice late on a Saturday afternoon and got a lovely welcome, reassurance about gluten free, come right along. The place is lovely inside, with a light airy boat house vibe. Such friendly people serving, interesting menu that's great for GF, vegan but also some good meat and fish options. Our GF burger and ricotta and spinach pasta were excellent. Fruit cheesecake dessert was delicate and refreshing, but the surprise of the evening was the GF sticky toffee pudding - prior to being diagnosed as a coeliac it had been my partner's absolute favourite pud, so really pleasing to find a GF version for him here. Lovely experience, we were well looked after. We'll be back.

Had a lovely meal. Food was excellent quality and service was brilliant, I need to visit again in the daytime so I can enjoy the river views.

Lovely supper, friendly staff, great vibes inside - like the interior of an old ship! And very dog friendly.

Great place to eat. Nice tables overlooking the river. The service was excellent by friendly waitress (aka the lady owner’s daughter, hello 👋😄👌). The menu was great and the food well cooked and served. Very enjoyable meal at the ferry inn. I recommend 😁

We escaped a downpour here, we weren't planning on lunch, but ordered a sausage sandwich to share and it was great. The place was packed and very busy, but we'll run. The buildings are interesting, a maze of properties joined together, with the brewery downstairs. There's also a shop and coffee shop part of Harbwr. There are many places to eat and drink in Tenby and this one should not be missed

Traditional, characterful pub owned and run by a decent man. Good local customers and selection of drinks. No food but if you want a welcome where you dont have to feel like a holidaymaker, this place is for you.
