Best pub meals we’ve had in a while! We went last night to celebrate my mums birthday. She had the steak, my husband had gammon and I had the most delicious prawn salad. Cath and Ava were absolutely lovely, nothing was too much, and they made my mums birthday treat a delight. Fabulous food, thank you so much

A warm welcome from new landlords Paul and Karen, lovely food and surroundings. We booked a table for a Friday evening meal, the food was delicious and the portions generous. We had creamy garlic mushrooms and pate to start, vegetable lasagne and chips and gammon and chips with all the trimmings. The pub is also dog friendly which is an added bonus.

A warm welcome greeted us on a blustery Sunday at the Farmers Arms. Never ever have we experienced someone say we do a 1,2 or 3 course lunch, but just to warn you our lunch is massive! Not only is it massive it’s the best lunch we’ve ever had. Homemade and so very tasty. We couldn’t fit anything else in. Not only that the lady behind the bar was so helpful when we needed to source some extra wood for our open fire, she gave us the name of their wood supplier. Overall, a lovely place, fabulous Sunday lunch and most importantly dog friendly.

We had a fantastic lunch at The Farmers Arms in Mathry with the whole family—kids, grandparents, and even the dog! This family-run pub made us feel instantly at home with its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food was superb; between us, we had the fish pie (the best we’ve ever had!), a chicken burger, curry, and beef burgers. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the value was excellent. The locals were lovely, and it was great to have a friendly chat with them. Being dog-friendly was a huge plus for us as well. This place is an absolute gem, tucked not far from St. David’s, and we can’t recommend it enough. Looking forward to our next visit!

My wife and I booked a evening meal and ordered our food. Our experience was spoilt by three men having a heated discussion at the bar using swear words . I thought the barman should have had a quiet word with them. Only after we had left did we realize that we had been overcharged for our meals. We had one gammon steak with extra pineapple slice, One sirloin steak, One fried Halloumi starter and two medium rose wine. We were only given a card machine receipt which was for £76.00 exact . We did not have a till receipt. From what we remembered of the prices we were overcharged by over £20.00. Needless to say we will not be returning.

The pub was warm and welcoming with a well stocked bar. I had three perfectly poured pints of Guinness, which I managed to split the Go on the first pint. The landlord took our orders and a young waiter laid the table with cutlery and condiments. The food arrived and looked very nice. I ordered the fish pie which was delicious. We were a party of 17 adults and 6 children booked in for a finger buffet in the back function room. No heating on until I asked and then only on for an hour before it went off again on a cold wintry December night. Owner told me on phone when booking that all food would be home made - not so - apart from sandwiches the rest was frozen bought in food. Had HE not actually said on booking that food would be home made I wouldnt have thought any more of it. The owner insisted that I collect cash from everybody for the food even though we could pay for the drinks at the bar by card. Told me I should have organized the payments before arriving!!! No mention of cash payment was made when booking. He was so arrogant. Will never set foot in this place again.

Stayed a few yards from this pub for a week and drank and / or ate there most days. This is a thoroughly welcoming, warm, local pub that attracts a good crowd of visitors and locals. There's a great selection of real ales and premium lagers and the food is excellent, homemade fayre. The staff are hard-working and friendly. If your idea of a good pub and pub food is a national chain it might not be to your liking - the food will be uncustomarily fresh and the beer pulled from well kept barrels! But if you appreciate good, homely food, a decent pint and traditional pub surroundings, well - you'll be laughing. Thanks for your hospitality.

Booked for a meal here after checking out reviews. On arrival could see that it was a very quiet evening, told to just sit anywhere. After looking at the menu chose to have the lasagne and 2 chicken curries. When the meals were brought to us the lasagne looked very nice, the curry , although looked nice, after a eating a little the chicken was very dry and the curry itself had very little flavour, needless to say they were both left. When our dishes were collected we were asked if all was OK, we did say that the chicken was very dry and this was obvious as hardly any had been eaten. We were offered a drink, I guess as a way of an apology, I would of thought and hopped to have had the meals removed from the bill, or the very least a reduction. We left, feeling very unsatisfied. Wouldn't visit again.

We walked in… an empty bar 5minutes before someone casually came from the kitchen to acknowledge us, then served by a nice enough lad behind the bar, however very very casual for a “Mother’s Day” service. Unfortunately did not look professional at all jeans, zip top hoody and a t-shirt…. We sat it was less than a minute before asking if we were ready to order, asked if they could gives us 2 more minutes, all seemed very rushed… Ordered our meal.. pate was lovely all though stingy portion and the salmon mousse was most definitely not mousse… but loads of it in comparison to the 2 thin sliced pieces of cold toasted bread… The salmon “mousse” was tasty… The Main… Beef dinner…. Looked good presented well.. beef was chewy - Yorkshire puddings homemade and tasty Mashed potato- warm tasted like smash not seasoned and barely enough for 2 carrots / swede again tasty Beans - still raw Sausage wrapped in bacon - COLD Cauli cheese different! Roasties were good and were the only thing piping hot…. Gravy had to ask for more as it was being rationed the tiniest of jugs although it being completely tasteless all in all just not great… Pudding is something I always have but unfortunately we were left so underwhelmed with the main we left hungry an went… Small things that make an experience for us lacked detail, Salt and peppers looked awful on tables just thr bought grinders from the wholesalers and put on tables….. corridor out to back dining area had signs an clutter in… Coloured fairy lights just made the beautiful traditional county pub look so tacky!!! It’s a Shame have spent many of years in this pub an has dramatically gone down….

Visited for Sunday lunch. Found on T.A. and after the reviews it did not disappoint. The team were welcoming, friendly, helpful and efficient. The Sunday lunch was one of the best we have had. Great selection of meats and the variety of veg as standard was impressive as well as yum. Fantastic. We plan to return this week to try their daily menu.

Came here last week during half term . The restaurant was near lydstep beach where we staying and thought we would book a meal here. The restaurant was only half full when we arrived at 7pm and we was met by a very pleasant young lady. Unfortunately from sitting down to being offered a drink this took 20. Minutes . The young lady did apologise saying it was only herself and a colleague serving on that particular evening.another 15 minutes later I had to stop the waitress to ask if we could order. The food took 45 minutes and it came lukewarm. To be honest the whole evening was awkward and poor . Real shame because if it was good it would be a goldmine.
