I felt like a king in this hotel! What a beautiful hotel. This is how I imagine a classy little house in the UK. A small room but very clean and cosy. The food was delicious and it offered me the best breakfast selection ever when travelling in the UK.

A great little hotel right by the sea. It's only a few meters walk to the beach and the center of Tenby can be reached in a few minutes. The sea view room was small but well equipped. Breakfast and dinner were very good, the service in the restaurant was outstanding. I can only recommend the hotel.

Brilliantly located just above the stunning South Beach, it is lovely to see this hotel refurbished and looking smart. It’s a nice hotel, very traditional seaside hotel. Understated, simple and serviceable. There are no fashionable flourishes to this place but it delivers on all the important things - friendly, clean, smart in a traditional way

Just had to write this review... I bought a voucher for my parents to have afternoon tea, whilst on holiday, as a father days gift... They've just been today and they said that it was amazing the best afternoon tea they've ever had and that everything was perfect... They sent me photos and I have to say it does look amazing and for the cost, I am very impressed... Thank you Giltar Hotel, as my parents had a lovely afternoon and this will get me some brownie points 😂 But seriously we'll done, as my parents do have high standards, so you've done well.

Lovely room but dinner was so disappointing. We complained about the food but nothing was done. We told reception next morning as they asked how stay was. Told us nothing they could do & we should have told restaurant last night. Explained that I did but they did nothing. We paid £18 for an awful lamb dinner!!!

My father booked this place for an overnight stay in which we stayed on the 11/02/23. I must say this was my first stay in this hotel with my father the receptionist who tended to us when arrived was very helpful despite arriving at an earlier time to check in she was still able, but very happy to hand us our room keys. We were put in room number 803 I must say it was the best room in the building all very luxurious inside with a beautiful view from the window of the beach and the beds was very comfortable. Out of all the accommodations I've stayed in Tenby this hotel has got to be the best one we've ever stayed in not to disappoint I'll certainly be returning here again.

I thought the restaurant was okay, and was looking forward to afternoon tea — which was one of the reasons why I chose to stay in the hotel. When I called down for reservations, I was told that there was a 24 hour cutoff. I said it was still 21 hours away, and asked if I could squeeze in. I received a sharp “no” in response. I was disappointed, and spoke to somebody later who said they got in and they were the only ones there. I mentioned the incident in my hotel review, and when loading my car the next day, the manager said he wanted to speak to me. It quickly became apparent that he wanted to argue. I mentioned the afternoon tea in the restaurant and he got very irate. He told me that Americans are rude. I told him my mother was born just up the road (Brecon), that I was born in Essex, and my dad was born in London. He replied that he hoped that his family hadn’t had to live anywhere near my family in England. I told him that I wasn’t going to quibble, and resumed loading the car. He then turned to my wife and began making disparaging remarks about me to my wife. I finally asked him to stop, and my poor wife was trying to get away from him. He brought somebody with him, presumably as backup. He insulted me, my family, and my wife — and Americans. I’ve travelled all over the world for decades. I’ve never met anybody so rude. I read another review where he called somebody “stupid.” Needless to say, it spoiled our whole trip. That was probably his intent.

So so disappointed in our stay We were greeted in a very dismissive way when asking about check in and where to park We paid £154 for a room with sea view - the room was very small and so hot - nice decor though We decided to eat in the restaurant- the food was shocking - it was expensive ( which you don’t mind paying if you have a nice meal ) I mentioned it on departure and I had a “ well it’s usually very good and we get a lot of compliments “ response Will not be staying again so disappointed as it was such a special occasion for us for many reasons

Ive been searching for a Sunday Roast with the taste and wow factor for ages and finally found one at the Giltar. Honestly the nicest roast Ive had for years. Everything was perfectly cooked, fresh and home-made. Generous portions and good quality produce with plenty of veg and not just a few carrots and broccoli either!! It came complete with roasted and new Pembrokeshire Potatoes, home made stuffing and gravy, cauli cheese and roasted and fresh veg. Absolutely delicious and made by a Chef who clearly cares about what they put on the table. Fantastic dessert too of a Cappuchino Roulade and cream. If I lived locally I would be there every week. Top Notch!

We pre-booked at this hotel restaurant due to the hotel we were staying at not currently having one. I think this restaurant is probably one of the more high end ones available along this part of Tenby. The decor was classic and fresh. The Staff were uniformed and smartly presented. Tables were nicely spaced to take account of the covid restrictions in place. We ate in a smaller room which command a lovely sea view. We were welcomed and served throughout our meal by Lewis. He was polite and attentive, he knew the menu well and was an excellent ambassador for the hotel - thank you. The menu had several mains to choose from, including seafood. We personally skipped starters, instead opting for a main and a desert with drinks. We all had a classic dinner (chicken supreme and pork lion) these were well presented, a good size portion as well as being cooked and seasoned beautifully. We all really enjoyed our meals. Deserts were also very tasty, I recommend the cappuccino roulade! The meals here are a little more expensive than some of the options in town, but I personally think it was good value for the service and quality we received. I would suggest this as a good choice for a special celebration meal.

Went there today for my first ever afternoon tea. When my friend and I sat down, we were greeted by 2000s UK pop music, some true bangers. We danced our way through tea...however, it didn’t really fit the atmosphere for afternoon tea. We were not given different options or told what was included, especially when a member of the party has dietary restrictions. The deserts looked as if they were purchased from Sainsbury’s down the road. I would recommend spending a little more for a true afternoon tea.

The room was spotless and the view on to the beach was fantastic. We had a few issues, the t.v didn't work due to the bad weather and a light bulb was broken in the room, also at breakfast the plates arrived being very hot and my partner hurt her hand on it.
