The setting is beautiful the staff were okay but the prices holy moly you need to mortgage your house to eat there My female companion had American pancakes and I had afull all day breakfast both with a smoothie I had mango delight she had strawberry That there was to a tune of £32.50. Just a note, we didn’t have our bill at this time As it was nice weather and that food clearly did not touch the sides we decided we were going to have hot chocolate and cake just to finish us off the chocolate wasn’t very nice and tepid and the cake was tiny This was to the tune of £16.50 So a total of £49.00 😂😂😂 I just really wasn’t worth it and the prices of the other food and drinks after the research is horrendous absolutely ridiculous. They cater for a particular clientele and in a little village where 55% are on a low income. I think this is ridiculous. I certainly will never touch that premises ever again.

The feed station was suggested as a stop gap on my way down to Cornwall to see family, I arranged to meet old friends as I passed through Somerset to kill two birds with one stone.. The place is really lovely, good all round menu and something for everyone. I had a Croque Madam which was delicious, my friends had sandwiches which also looked really good, we shared a piece of cake to finish..all really good. The atmosphere in the cafe was unusual, it felt a bit like angst in the air and this was confirmed when a lady came gushing out from the kitchen and proceeded to raise her voice to a lady stood behind a screen at the back of the cafe. This was loud enough to be heard from our table and left everyone turning around to see who was shouting, I imagine it was the manager after hearing her ‘remind’ everyone that she was the manager!!! All in all a lovely place, I think maybe some team building work may be good to make the experience better for diners. I also overheard two ladies talking about it outside as I made my way to my car..

Booked Afternoon Tea for my Mum and Mother in Law. Given a lovely warm welcome and shown to our table which was laid with China plates and cups. Food was incredible, sandwiches were freshly made, well filled and tasty. Nice touch with a couple of savouries including a lovely cheese muffin and a densely packed sausage roll. That in itself would give you the meat sweats!!! Now for the cakes. Best Victoria sandwich bites ever. Scones delicious too. Talking to the chap, everything made on site with exception of the bread which is bought from a local baker. Service is second to none. I had visited before but Mum and MIL hadn’t and were impressed with the surroundings, atmosphere, food and service. So much so that MIL is talking about having a party there for FIL birthday! Win win! Thank you to all for making the afternoon special. See you soon!

I'm a bit late reviewing, sorry! My friends and I came in for Christmas dinner one evening and to say it was an outstanding experience would be an understatement. The food was exceptional, particularly the trifle (OMG! I wish I'd had it first so I had enough room to finish it). Generous portion sizes and an attentive, friendly, personal waiting staff experience. Thanks so much. Can't wait for tapas night, which we have also booked on to. Gracias!

The Feed Station is absolutely one of my favourite local lunch spots. I've been going with friends for years. The food is amazing, and as a coeliac it's so refreshing to have a place that does great gluten free so nearby. The staff are always so friendly and helpful, and the whole atmosphere, down to the cosy interior design, is just lovely. Great place to go for good quality food at lunchtime, or just an afternoon coffee and a slice of delicious cake. This will always be my go-to place for lunch and a catch up with friends. Huge thanks again to the staff for creating such a cute environment!

This place in the past has been fanstic! I love the feel and decor and the staff have always polite, we have never had a poor meal, or afternoon Tea! until Saturday 10 of us for a friends birthday £22.50 per head which I pushed for and recommended. The food portions where very poor small and just was very underwhleming nothing like you have on your web site, just a example what on earth had happened to your home made sausage rolls, your quiche the finger sandwiches your cake the fresh fruit that we had on the cake stand last time, what was that Eaton mess ! yes it was. Two pots of Tea and one coffee and was not asked again for drinks. Your outside facilities are a whole new level of disgusting, something has gone very wrong and it is a shame very sad to say we will never return .

A massive shame that you’re so obviously trying to save money by cheapening your breakfast ingredients. Our experience yesterday was so different from previous visits. If you’re going to offer tasteless sausage and bacon, cheap bread and cold beans then for gods sake lower your prices. We were expecting your usual high standards and were very disappointed. Time to try elsewhere.

Came for breakfast this morning to celebrate a big birthday. Have been here many times before but so disappointed on this visit. The quality of the food was nowhere near what we have had before. Two of our party ordered the Full English which used to include two Sausages, black pudding, two tomatoes and proper bread amongst other things. Today it was one sausage, one thin white slice of toasted bread (definitely not the slow dough bread advertised more like Lidl’s Toastie). The bacon was very dry and overcooked. The beans were thin and cheap, staff not particularly friendly or chatty - a smile goes a long way. Really disappointed and hoping that this is a one off and they will go back to their normal standards soon

As a group of cyclists we have visited the feed station numerous times. Unfortunately today was not the best of experiences. On arrival we saw three tables occupied and then asked to wait so a check could be made to see if we could be accommodated. (During our visit no other large groups arrived) and then we were given a table almost reluctantly. Service was poor attitude of the male member of staff poor. To summarise we were not made to feel welcome. A shame as our past visits have been good. It may have been an off day but the “Feed Station’ is advertised as a cyclists cafe. - perhaps the USP should be changed on the FACEBOOK and the website. .

After my last review, I have been back in recently and brought a colleague for coffee and Cake, which was really lovely. Great, friendly, quick service. Ana, you were aggrieved at my last review, which I am sorry for, but it doesn't make my feelings about the price of a bacon butty (even priced at £7.50) any different. The bap was not 'loaded' with filling. I would not have complained if it was. It was a white bap with two pieces of bacon in it. That's 2.50 for each of the main components. Anyway, my last experience was really lovely and the cake was delicious.

Cycled 30 miles on Sunday to The Feed Station, after hearing so much glowing feedback from my cycling friends. I made a booking by phone the day before (I tried email just before phoning, but the subsequent reply came back too late and we wouldn't have got in). The first thing was the quiet location in Merriott behind the church. Then I noticed the custom built bike racks to hang the road bikes by the front wheel. I also peeked into the kitchen where I saw a heap of oranges. The venue itself is an old stone, converted school. All the COVID safeguards were in place and we were shown to our table by a friendly member of staff. The breakfast menu was bought out to us and there was a huge choice from Full English to Eggs Royale. I went for Eggs Benedict, freshly squeezed orange juice and a cappuccino. The orange juice was fantastic, especially after the cold bike ride. It's rare to get freshly squeezed orange juice anywhere these days and it is of course, far superior to the nutritionally bereft concentrate that's usually on offer. At £2, I thought it was quite reasonable too. The eggs benedict came on 2 split slices of toasted ciabatta and was served with home made hollandaise with mustard seeds clearly visible and slices of country ham. It was excellent and I liked the green garnish on top too. The cappuccino was perfect, smooth, creamy and not overbearing, with a sprinkle of chocolate on top. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. I loved the decor, with beautiful 1980's road bikes hanging from the ceiling, posters and memorabilia everywhere. The loo was spotless too, with loo roll stored on the drops of a pair of handlebars fixed to the wall. I don't really need to write a review because everyone knows this place is excellent and I'm just jumping on the bandwagon. If I ran a cyclists' cafe, I would want it to be just like this. Very highly recommended.

Both lovely and good value for money, I should have known better than to order a coffee though (I am particularly fussy) - my espresso was bitter, tasted burnt- either from the bean itself or the grinder. It was still quite thin without the crema I hoped for. My husband’s flat white was also undrinkable, unfortunately.

This is my husband and I second visit. I have to say it’s wonderful fantastic food. Fantastic service. Fantastic atmosphere. They deserve the cycling cafe of the year award they have just won. I can’t rate the place high enough

We try to come here often as it’s a lovely place and we live locally. The breakfasts are very good. Love the venue, the food is always good and so are the cakes if you have room. They never disappoint.

Cold, windy autumn day; warm smiles of greeting; roaring log burner. San Miguel and fine, fresh food (home made mushroom soup and roasted vegetable quiche) in wonderfully comfortable surroundings. Excellent as ever.

Ive been a few times as i love the ambience and cakes are yummy. However all the cups are different sizes so sometimes you get a small cup of coffee and sometimes a larger cup but you still pay the same. My other gripe is that most of the cakes /snacks etc on the counter are left uncovered. This is not very hygenic and they should be covered.

This is a lovely cafe with a very relaxed atmosphere. We have been a few times. The cakes are delicious. We have also had some breakfast. I had a vegetarian breakfast which was tasty but was a little cold when served and on the expensive side. My children had waffles, they shared one portion between them and this was plenty and they loved them. I don't think we would come for the breakfast again because of the cost but we would come for cake.

What a great place, we’ve been staying in Merriott for the week and have been in for elevenses three times! The staff are fab, the outside tables are a bonus and the food is excellent too! We had a crowd of ten friendly cyclists for company on our first visit as it’s on a popular cycling route hence the theme of the place too. Lovely atmosphere, go give them a try

I was coming back from Beer and wanted to treat my girls to lunch at Pips Railway Carriage, didn’t know it was closed on Sunday. So we were advised to try The Feed Station. I just wanted to say that we loved it, the food was great, the building is really interesting the staff were welcoming and very friendly. I’m now planning on taking my husband there for a treat. Thank you

Visited twice in a week this week, enjoying everything including a full English breakfast, bacon roll, smoked salmon panini, flat mushroom and always our favourite, the shared charcuterie board. Everything superbly presented with a smile in lovely surroundings and high quality food. Superb.

I had heard great things about the feedstation and it didn’t disappoint! Three of us cycled down from Axbridge on a warm Saturday and enjoyed a superb lunch. I had the mashed Avocado with bacon on toast and it was delicious. There was excellent bike storage and the TDF was on the TV in the corner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole feel of the place was welcoming to cyclists but there were also a lot of non cyclists too enjoying the food. I have visited a large number of cafes across the UK but this one is one of the best- simply brilliant!

Located right on the cycling route 30, and with a chapeau to many things cycling (checkout the inner-tube lampshade amongst others), this cafe provided very friendly service and good coffee and a pot of tea that served three cups. The cakes looked great so will return for these!! And with bike locks, track pumps and spare gubbins all available, this was a great find
