Came to the Fat Crab for a family meal after we decided to try something new. We really enjoyed everything about this restaurant! We also received superb service from one staff member in particular who I believe was named “Zack” . He was extremely attentive, kind and accommodative to us during our time spent and gave us excellent recommendations on what to try as we’ve never had sea food boil before alongside always making sure everything was up to standard for us. Overall an excellent place and great customer service. Would highly recommend!!

Ordered Seabass, sweet potato and prawns My girl ordered crab, potato and prawns Calamari and fries on the side Came to £92 (inc drinks) All the stuff came on the bone (there was no option to have the kitchen remove it) The sea bass was nice enough but it was 90% bone sweet potato was nice but the prawns were unsettling because you have to rip their heads off which is slightly unappealing The calimari tasted like rubber and my girl was put off by the fact her crab was basically staring back at her. Chips were decent though. Apart from that it wasn't worth the money, staff seemed bored and unfriendly

Whilst I was walking I was welcomed in and seated quickly, then got given menus and had great recommendations from our waiter Zack, he was very helpful and kind. The place was very nice and the food was amazing!!

Overall I wouldn’t recommend. The service was poor apart from one man, who was affective but everyone else looked moody and were very slow. I asked for claws for the crab for our table to have (6 of us) and she said let me see if I can find some.. and then gave us 1 pair so we all had to share it which made it annoying. The garlic butter sauce was just mainly pure butter and no other flavour. The whole shebang was nice at first but too salty after a while and I usually like my salt. It’s a shame you can’t have everything in one bag like a regular seafood boil, if you want multiple items they advise ordering multiple bags as the bags are small and may burst. Price is very good but I would rather spend more for better flavour and service.

It was our first visit at fat crab, and the experience was a memorable. We were given fantastic service by Sara and zach. Very professionally they went through the menu with us, as we had never been here before. We shall definitely b returning with friends and family. I had a terrible experience at Fat Crab and would strongly advise against dining or ordering from this place. I placed a takeaway order for two lobster meals, and from start to finish, the service was awful. 1. Wrong Order: They completely messed up my order, including the wrong type of chips. 2. Excessive Wait Time: I was told the order would be ready in 20 minutes, but when I arrived, they said they had run out of lemons and made us wait an additional 30 minutes with no proper communication. 3. Lack of Accountability: When I raised concerns, instead of apologising or trying to fix the issue, they simply said, “We were busy, and this is what we can do.” This showed a complete lack of care for customers. 4. Poor Customer Service: When I called back, I was told there was no manager available, and the staff member, Riddhima, was extremely rude and unapologetic. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, and I would never return or recommend this place to anyone. If you value your time, money, and a decent customer service experience, avoid Fat Crab at all costs.

Food is nice and staff are polite. The place is a reasonable size and gets quite busy, although i haven't been rushed out. A good mix of people. There is parking in the evening and good transport links, with a bus stop nearby and Rayners lane station a few minutes walk. I ordered prawns, with sweet potato and corn and I was full. That came to around £25 which is reasonable, but the previous bill was a lot more, so it can vary depending on what you choose. I have only tried the full shabang sauce but would like to try something else next time. I plan to return.

Been three times and really love the food but the service is often so painful. It is very slow, with staff taking ages to come over an attend to tables so they can take orders, giving you the bill and bringing out the food. We've had instances where they'd bring out our chips but then don't bring our main food for another 10-20 minutes, chips go cold and lets down the experience. It can be very annoying as the whole point is dipping the chips in the sauce and enjoying it all together. It leaves a lot to be desired and lets down the restaurant. The food and the music/playlist is A1 though. If they can sort out their service it would be such a better overall experience.

Shocking experience at a restaurant I've been coming to for years and booked well in advance. Entered at 930pm for 4 pax (when table was booked). Ordered beers (only had corona) despite bira moretti and Heineken on the menu. Food - a variety of seafood including snow crab (£100+). We were invisible to the manager despite asking the waiter (2 days in to job) to check with him if we had ordered too much or enough. Food came - was great. Then reminded by the waiter at 1010pm, kitchen closes at 1030pm. We asked for a few mins and gave the order for more at around 1020pm. Waiter stumbled back to our table 5mins later saying kitchen is closed.. I asked why as its before 1030pm. He said they're not cooking anymore. I checked with the manager (front of house) who advised it's 'them' not us, as if to say the kitchen was outsourced. This was a Christmas meal which was booked well in advance and we were left dissatisfied, hungry and bemused at the entire experience. Bill came - we were apparently given discount but was still over £300 for 4 of us. Fat Crab - you do great food, but I urge you to review your customer service and be transparent with times. Unfortunately i won't be returning anytime soon!

Harrow branch is small, people are in and out collecting take-away , draft from the door and people constantly walking by you while eating. Didn’t bother me too much, but would have been better if it wasn’t the case. Food is sensational, had prawns, snow crab, crawfish, mussels, corn and potatoes. Cajun sauce is stunning!!

It was really a true pleasure to taste the real seafood with local curries. Staff was particularly nice and took good care of us! A big thank you to this awesome people who made us feel like home Ashanka,Upeksha and Chamida !

Fat Crab brought me out of my review hiatus. I can’t recommend this enough. Meals were well seasoned, potatoes were crispy on the outside and yummy to the last bite. Decently sized portions. I was so full, I could barely breathe. Service was great. I recommend the jumbo scallops starter, was an absolute delight. Prepare for messy eats, it’s totally worth it.

Loved it! Delicious sauces to go with the snow crab (sweet meat) and the prawns. The Cajun fries are tasty and the calamari was perfect! Lots of flavour and spice! Looking forward to my next visit to try more! You can bring your own drinks, you just need to pay corkage.

Me and my friend came here for dinner and not even 20 minutes later after eating the prawns she was feeling severely unless and had severe food poisoning from it and was written off for the whole weekend. And the fact you guys haven’t even gotten back to her to address this issue and to come up with a solution is shocking. Avoid this place and their prawns unless you want food poisoning and no response!!

Me and my friend went here for dinner on the 4th October and my friend ordered the prawns. Not even 20 minutes later and she was feeling VERY unwell. She took half of the food home that she ordered as she wasn’t able to eat it due to feeling ill. As we were driving home I had to pull over twice for her to throw up, and was also was completely written off for the whole weekend and was throwing up the following days. Not only that, she has reached out to you guys and you said you would get back to her, and you haven’t. Very very disappointed. Please avoid.

I had a lovely time there yesterday. Ordered the snow crab and added prawns, corn and potatoes with cajun sauce and a side of garlic butter dip. The crab was so yummy and was the star of the show obviously but the rest was delicious too. The only thing I was surprised about was the potatoes. They looked like baking potatoes thus were a bit fluffy, crumbly. I would normally have it with baby potatoes. But no problem. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend!

We enjoyed a delightful seafood feast, indulging in lobsters, snow crab, prawns, and mussels—all of excellent quality. The Cajun sauce was absolutely divine, and I highly recommend it! Our server, Anda, provided exceptional service, carefully guiding us through the menu and making sure our little one was well looked after. It was a fantastic experience, and we’d certainly visit again!

Went to Fat Crab Harrow after several years, with covid lockdown intervening. They're now in new larger premises, two doors down, but the food is still excellent and staff are helpful and attentive. They give you a bib and wipes and napkins, but no cutlery and the food is served in large plastic bags. Delicious and great fun!

This is an amazing place for any seafood lover. Not flashy, so hoody, jeans and trainers. But good value for money. Prawns, Snow Lobster and Mussels are our go to. Highly recommend for a non fussy good value meal.

Parking can be a bit tricky, as there isn’t a dedicated spot, so you’ll likely need to park along a nearby road. Once inside, though, you're in for a treat! The food is fantastic, especially if you're a fan of crab—we tried a variety of crab dishes, and each one was packed with flavour. Be prepared to get your hands messy, but it's absolutely worth it for that fresh, delicious crab meat! With limited seating, I’d recommend calling ahead to make a reservation. Overall, a great experience, and we’d definitely go back!

Visited yesterday. Never again. Used to be a regular at the Harrow establishment before they “upgraded”. Im still a regular, i just visit other locations. Firstly they upgraded the shop but downgraded with service. I was shocked to say the least. They don’t acknowledge you, I had to continually wave them down to get noticed also had to repeated,ask and remind them of things to bring. I’ll try to explain my frustration briefly. They took forever to take our order. Once our order came (king crab) we had no cutlery (scissors, poker) asked for it, they said they don’t have any. I notice on all the other tables they do. I also notice none of them have ordered a king crab. A king crab is damn near impossible to eat without the necessary equipment (I STRUGGLED). I let it go although I was really annoyed that they hadn’t mentioned this before we placed our order. I would have gotten my regular snow crab as that’s easier to manage without utensils. As I started eating I noticed this VERY potent fishy smell and taste.. and as a foodie I know fish is only supposed to taste and smell like fish before it’s cooked. This was clear to me that the crab was not cleaned well. I understand it can happen but I didn’t want to waste soo much money on food I’m not enjoying. It was sickening! I was trying to wave the workers down again and whilst not being noticed I went up to the desk where one of the workers was hiding under the counter. I kindly explained about the crab having a strong fishy Oder and taste when one of the ladies. (Very sweet black woman, lovely girl) agreed and said that she’s had this experience herself. The other lady asked what I wanted to do. I asked if we could change it for something else. She said ok I asked for the snow crab instead. She said sure, went back to my seat. She later came back to me and said she’s not able to change it and that I have to pay for the original order expect she could take off the sides from the tab. This made no sense to me because I wasn’t going to be full off just the sides as it wasn’t a lot. I needed a main and I didn’t want to have to pay for 2 mains especially with the king crab already being super pricey. I was trying to come to a middle ground that made sense so I ordered another side and a starter that wasn’t going to be put on the tab along with the sides. Once that arrives it wasn’t what we expected and wasn’t how I’ve usually received it but I kept silent because I started to feel like I was being one of “those” customers. A few seconds later she comes back to me and tells me we have to pay for our original meal order and that they won’t include the side and the starter I just received. I felt as if I’ve been cheated because she told me she’d take off the sides of the original order along with not paying for the new side and starter. At this point I was very frustrated because I knew I wasn’t going to eat what had just arrived on the table anyway. I’ve never had such a horrible experience in any restaurant I’ve ever gone too let alone any of the fat crab establishments and I kid you not I’ve probably been to the fat crab about 40x. It was extremely embarrassing to have to stick up for myself in a way that seemed argumentative as we kept going back and forth. Before paying I wanted to speak to the manager because it was clear the girls were getting instructions from him but he was no where to be found. The whole thing was extremely unprofessional and I felt very uncomfortable. I almost felt forced to eat the king crab as there wasn’t much of an alternative as they had nothing else they could accommodate me with without charging me and I swear on everything once I left that shop after walking for just 10 seconds ! I vomited. I actually vomited. And no I’m not pregnant or have anything medically wrong for me. It was honestly just disgusting, humiliating and just an overall crappy experience. It’s a shame, the Harrow branch is closest to me and used to be amazing with only the availability as their downfall but now they’ve absolutely ruined it, especially after this experience.

The Fat Crab in Harrow I struggled to make a reservation as no one ever picked up the phone or returned my call after leaving a voicemail. I was then able to make my reservation online which was not straight forward but got the confirmation several days before the booking. Ten min before our booking the restaurant called me to say that I hadn’t paid ‘a significant’ deposit therefore my booking was cancelled. They stated I was sent an email, which I never received. I also advised that at the time of booking there was no mention of a deposit needed but was happy to pay. I was advised they are setting up a new booking system and still working out the kinks. Whilst I fully appreciated this I offered for our party to be sat at a smaller table (as we were only a party of three) or come slightly later which was met with a no sorry we cannot accommodate you. The evening was a special celebration for my friends birthday and business launch. I have been to the restaurant previously without a reservation and the food is great which is why I raved about this place to everyone I know. We were all very excited for the evening until this happened. The people I spoke to were incredibly dismissive of the fact that this ruined a special evening with no notice at all and kept repeating that other people paid ‘substantial or significant’ deposits therefore our table was given to them. This was incredibly distasteful in my opinion considering they had just finished saying their system is faulty. This showed that they were only interested in the money and not at all about customer satisfaction or reputation. Whilst I appreciate this is a business, I also would wish to remind them that you need happy customers to sustain your business. I have shared my experience of the Fat Crab in Harrow with my friends and family and no one will return or visit the restaurant.

Tasteless food! We went for the crab with the tentacles with the garlic butter sauce and mild flavour as we wanted to taste the seafood better..well.. unfortunately we couldn't! The service is very good and the staff was very friendly and nice. Go to Sardinia if you want to taste amazing seafood!

Crabs didn't have much meat in it

I’ve been there a couple times. Hasib and Ahmed are lovely people, their customer service skills are amazing and make you feel welcome. Both gentleman have looked after us on multiple occasions! Makes the experience at fat crab (besides the delicious food) even better!

Absolutely loved this place. The snow crab was spectacular. I definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be going again. The only gripe I have is that they only do whole lobsters and not the lobster tails.

booked a table for 6, when we arrived they said there was no booking for us, and the table was already booked months ago by another group?! They could’ve even accommodate to us despite there being other empty tables and chairs (they could’ve put two empty tables together)! disappointing Go to the angry crab shack instead, it is walk in service but their food is lovely, seasoned and good portions unlike this place 😃

The taste was great, and I was setting expectations too high in Harrow for having such seafood. The scallops tasted like frozen; signature crab 🦀 is excellent.

Very disappointing…..We came from far with the recommendation. Website says restaurant is closed at 11pm. We went there at 9.40 and they said can’t give table because too late …and offer take away 😂. I have two restaurants. You have to say clearly in the website what time is your last order and what time until customers can sit in the table. No information. Just wasting our time . Never come again 😡

Great idea to serve a amazing seafood in a bag with bibs. It's good to throw in some of the sides. I recommend the potato and corn in your bag. The snow crab is plenty of food for one. Also kid friendly. Book in advance as it gets busy. Could be better with service

I had a bad experience today and this is my second time going. My first time was really good with customer service. But today was the worst experience I ever had. I was about walk out after I PAID! and the two girls who work there stopped me in front of public and asked me have I paid. Like I'm a theft. I wasn't embarrassed ?!?. because I know paid but the other staff confirmed to the two girls that I paid. I would recommend this place but now I won't.

I liked the stripped down unfussiness of this restaurant. No plates and no cutlery in here, just get dirty and eat with your fingers. The prawns I had were lovely, with just about the right amount of seasoning. However, it is not cheap to eat here. Please be prepared for the bill and the service charge they add on without warning you before you pay.

The staff here are angels even with the most difficult of customers. Thanks for being so patient with our guests. If you don’t like messy eating then this isn’t the place for you, but if you don’t mind a bit of oil on your hands then come and enjoy!

I come here every now and then when I fancy crab and prawns, it has not changed much over the years, a couple of new items on the menu, the food is good and cooked well so no complaints ! but I have noticed the price has gone up considerably! I would recommend Fat Crab but be prepared to pay!

We've been eager to try this seafood boil spot for quite some time, and I must say, it lived up to our expectations. It's easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. I'm already looking forward to going back, and my daughter and I can't stop raving about it. Seafood enthusiasts should definitely give it a try. The food was fresh, delightful, and the staff was incredibly friendly, especially our amazing waitress.

Easily the worst service and rudest staff you'll ever encounter. I didn't actually try the food because I left before getting my meal. I didn't feel welcome at all, it almost felt like I was going for a free meal and not a paid experience and that made me very uncomfortable. A tip for the management : service is equally as important as the quality of your food. It's either that staff are not qualified or they're just not happy working for you.

We arrived to the restaurant at 17:00 on a week day, there were three empty 4 seater tables and we were refused service because we have a baby(3 month old in a pram), they said they have one reservation but that would still leave empty tables. The excuse we were given is “safety” although the place is supposedly wheelchair accessible, and despite us agreeing to sit anywhere suitable they refused to seat us or offer alternatives. I have never been faced with such discrimination and lack of understanding, to think that we drove all the way from St. Albans for this. PS: if you have babies or use a wheelchair this is not the place for you, they will make sure to disrespect you and deny you service.

Fat crab is an excellent restaurant with great food. However, some of their take away clients have utterly appalling manners and disgusting behaviour. Leaving their bags littering the streets after eating their take away from the fat crab . It happens quite often and is a sad reflection of the lack of manners of some individuals.

Paid £34 for a lobster had me on the toilet all night

There are a variety of choices in crabs in addition to flavours. The quality and taste of the crab meat and prawn were sooo good and I loved the fried mussels. The price is very reasonable and I was very happy with the service.

Shrimp was really nice but mussels had sand and was gritty clearly wasn’t washed properly very off putting customer service was ok I can’t complain

Amazing staff, food was not as I expected. Something with sauce didn't sit right with me. Other then that all good.

I absolutely love this place. I called earlier in the day to book for four people but was told they were fully booked however, I got a call back later in the day informing me thay had a cancellation which was amazing the fact they noted I made the request earlier. From the moment we sat down to when we finished, it was fantastic. The head waiter explained which dishes are which and goes with which flavour, he even showed how best to eat the crab, as one of my guests was a newbie. Well worth the money and experience. The lobster was extremely tasty and meaty, and the crab was plentyful with the legs, body and claws. We definitely will be coming back A+++

First time trying the American seafood boil . We ordered a lobster and a brown crab, with fries and sweet potato fries as sides + two drinks , which summed up as £85 in total for two person . Never thought it can rival the steamed Chinese mitten crab we eat in Hong Kong but dare I say , the portion, freshness and the juiciness of the seafood are unparalleled (even with our critical and picky Cantonese taste buds). Server is patient and amazing in explaining how the mains are cooked. Got a tap for you to wash your hands after handling the seafood.

My favourite treat! Shabang sauce is unreal - and so is the snow crab! I visit frequently and it’s 100% worth the hour drive!! The staff are always lovely and have strong knowledge of their produce and even help you if you’re a newbie to cracking shells!!!
