Had heard gd reviews since change of management but still exceeded expectation. Friendly staff and owner, very accommodating for large group tonight with diff needs...and arrival timings. Food was excellent! Can tell its cooked fresh and homemade. On top of this the cost was incredible value for what we got. Every one of us was happy. Thank you again all at The Falkners Arms

I had a great time at the quiz last night. We had drinks and ordered the sweet chilli chicken burger, The cheese quater pounder and the hunters chicken. The food was fantastic and was all cooked fresh and hot. I would recommend having a meal here. The quiz was good fun and had a great atmosphere :)

Wow! I had the pleasure of enjoying the first roast dinner today of the season. Opted for roast beef which came with a selection of freshly cooked veg, stuffing, pigs in blanket and a homemade yorkshire pudding along with perfectly cooked, crispy roast potatoes and lots of gravy! I can’t recommend this enough. It won hands down on the local roasts on offer. Well done to the chefs!!!!! See you next Sunday!!!!

The staff were initially attentive bringing the children a jug of squash which was lovely. We were given menus but weren't informed it was bar service, we realised after a while. The food was good, came quickly and was good pub fare. All was well until my 1 year old daughter needed to be changed. I couldn't find a changing area in the gents toilet. I found a baby change sign at the other side of the venue with the disabled toilets. I tried to enter but it was locked. Assuming it was in use, and with a fussy toddler, I found a quiet corner of the pub and changed my daughter on her changing mat on the floor. As I was wrapping up, a staff member came over to point out the changing facilities. When I pointed out it was locked they said they 'kept it locked for hygiene reasons'. I acknowledged them, apologised and finished changing my daughter. We were just leaving when the proprietor felt the need to come and again point out the changing facilities and tell me off for using a corner of the pub. Please allow parents access to the changing facilities or at minimum put up a sign on the door to say the keys are kept behind the bar.

The pub changed hands around 2 years ago and has gone from strength to strength ever since. Food is excellent with a good selection of beers. Regular events and live entertainment in the evenings. Located next to a popular children's play park with a bridge allowing direct access. Ideal for a cheeky summer pint! Great chippy and Chinese and Tesco next door. What more can you ask for.

14 (8 kids) of us came in today for lunch to take advantage of the half term kids meals - 2 courses and squash for £5. The kids were aged between 9-12 years old so we weren’t sure if the meals would be a good size for them - but they were such good portions and the puddings were lovely. Good service, friendly staff and lovely afternoon. Would recommend.

Ok, so when 2 adults and a child of 4 dine and the children's menu includes a desert, it is not really acceptable for the child to have to wait 30 mins + for a chocolate browny, ice cream and marshmallows - a desert that could be thrown together by anybody. When we asked for the desert, having waited 20 minutes, on the first occasion, we were told ok. 10 minutes later, when we advised that we were going to have to go soon, it was apparently on its way and a further 5 minutes later, we were told that they were busy preparing food - to which I replied that leaving a child of 4 waiting that amount of time was not acceptable and we were thus going to have to leave minus the desert..... The desert then arrived. The food was pretty good, but not sure if we will return as the last time we went here, and having walked from our caravan, the kitchen was closed as there was no chef.

A cracking little pub this. We moved to the area last year and have frequented this place a number of times since including popping in for a few daytime drinks, a couple of times on a Saturday night to watch some live bands and most recent a few weeks ago we took my 4 yr old and had lunch outside on the benches whilst he went too and from the play park! Ideal. The first band we saw back in Jan were called Continuum who were great, drew a busy crowd with lots of dancing. We’ve also seen Daft! Who were also quite good. I understand they’ve recently started doing food again which we tried a few weeks back on a Saturday lunchtime. We shared a pizza which was nice, although maybe a build your own option from available ingredients/toppings would be a nice addition. Also had chilli & chips which was tasty 😋.

Spent a lovely afternoon at the Falkners. There was a large group of us with kids and dogs and they were so accommodating. The staff were friendly, welcoming and just lovely! We all had food and it was absolutely delicious! Amazing value for money as the portion sizes were big. My son has several allergies so it can be daunting eating at new places but their allergen info was spot on. Everyone in our party had a great time and we’ve booked back to go again. Highly recommend!!

After our review 2 years ago we revisited the Falkners arms in fleet, and I'm sorry to say that we were disappointed. The menu had diminished tremendously, which only left a minimal choice. We didn't even see the pub favourite fish and chips. Obviously during the covid restriction they had lost there chef, because when my burger arrived the bacon was burnt and the cheese slice hadn't melted enough, and it was only lukewarm. The chilli was served with no sour creme, and again it wasn't hot. So all in all we were not impressed.

We had yet another fantastic meal at The Chequers at Eversley. Becky our waitress was very attentive too & interacted with us. I was a chef myself in the late 1980's then front of house & progressed to Managment too. Just one comment The salt & pepper 's were either empty or pepper in the salts! We swapped on other tables & the others were all the same!!!!!!

I’ve been coming to Tylney since 2010 for special occasions such as birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries etc. sadly it’s gradually gone down hill and this will possibly be my last visit. I dined at the oak room this week and when the menu was put in front of me i had no idea what to order. The menu was outdated, stuffy and very overpriced. Long gone are the days where you sat in the library, had your amuse-bouch and marvelled at what to order. Your order was taken prior to your arrival at the oak room and your wine was waiting at your table for your arrival. I ended up ordering by eliminating either incredibly boring options like soup and ludicrously expensive ones like £47 Dover sole. I had the whipped goats cheese starter and the pork main. The food tasted nice but it really was nothing special. The menu was just lacking in creativity and provenance. Back in the day you’d walk in the oak room and there was live piano, candles on the table and the silver cloche covered your food and was beautifully removed when the dish was in front of you. All these details made the extra cost worth it. When you pair it all back sadly it’s just not worth it anymore. I know places like Tylney are incredibly expensive to run so some adjustments have to be made but these are the things that made it special and kept us coming back over the years. Places like The Pig have left Tylney behind. Perhaps it’s time to rethink the French menu for something with provenance, after all Hampshire is a rich county. Back in the heyday of Tylney Hall 20-30 years ago, I appreciate that English food and wine wasn’t as well known or at the level it is at today but it would perhaps be more imaginative, creative and attract more guests if the menu was adapted to be the ‘best of British’ - including all of the wonderful food that Hampshire and neighbouring counties can offer (including the wine!). Back in the 1990s this sort of traditional French menu felt exciting but by today’s culinary standards it is bland and mediocre. On this visit we also found out that the old snooker table is gone. It broke and it was taken away, never fixed. This is incredibly sad as it was a family tradition to have a game of snooker after dinner in a room which was full of history.
