The Factory House in City of London, Westminster

Very, average food and service even though the place was 1/4 full. They forgot our olives, the gin cocktail was awful. No one came to ask if we wanted a coffee etc. The pie had a thin shop bought crust, the filling was 5 piece of meat and 3 pieces of mushroom in a watery gravy. The broccoli with blue cheese sauce had some slimy texture on it we assumed as cheese. The honey carrots were limp. Big portions does not translate to quality.

I'm currently sitting in the restaurant and I am pinching myself if this is real. I had to ask the waiter over after being seated and waiting ten mins. She was very rude in taking my order. Food was cook below par. No one throughout my meal has asked me if everything's okay, do you want another drink etc. I feel better served in Nando's (by a long shot).

A very friendly welcome, despite the restaurant being full, a girl who was at the bar, I seem to remember her name was Altea, gave us a table near the bar and served us some wonderful coffees. Despite the stress we had waiting for clients to hold a meeting, this girl made us smile. The food was delicious and the staff was the best. I recommend it, especially for business.

Loved the Sirloin Steak with a side of horseradish, and a couple of pints made the visit outstanding. Nice and lively crowd. Highly recommend on a stop at Leadenhall Market.

Absolutely marvellous breakfast in a hidden restaurant in Leadenhall market. Beautifully cooked Full English, friendly staff, a wonderful experience.

Steak was good, but rare not medium as requested. But the service, the service was awful. Grumpy waiter. Empty glasses. Won't be coming back as there are plenty of other restaurants in this area that might actually be pleased to see customers.

I met a colleague here for lunch, it’s at the back of Leadenhall market so easy to find. Due to its location it’s busy with city office types during the week. The room is downstairs and I quite liked it. The staff were friendly, not overly hectic but also not overly if your face - I liked them. The food was fresh, well prepared and had some flavor - I liked it. I had the Fresh poached salmon and crisp prosciutto salad - it was nice. The whole experience was nice. It was as memorable as a nice glass of wine.

I regularly have breakfast in the Factory House, due to both its descent cuisine and the convenient location. Lovely place with great atmosphere although it's one floor below ground. Original decoration, giving an industrial version of a classic English pub. The service can be improved. Food is good and breakfast options are quite a few. Not the place to have a good espresso though.

Of course I looked at the TA reviews before booking. I saw a few one and two stars but took a chance. I’m pleased I did. My pork belly was generously sized and delicious. My wife was just as pleased with her chicken harissa. The service was attentive and smooth, the welcome friendly. We asked for a table where we could hear ourselves talking (as we’re a little hard of hearing) we were given a booth. Brilliant! Based on our experience we’d not hesitate to return if we revisit that part of town again.

As a French tourist, I was disappointed not to be able to choose the cooking of the steak in my burger, it had to be well cooked. The burger was dry, not that big, the fries frozen and not accompanied by salad, at almost £20 a burger this is disappointing. No sauce was offered by the restaurant. Do not forget the 12.5% ​​of services charged extra for the service (indicated in small letters at the bottom of the card) The restaurant is nice and clean but that's it, no point in going there.

Long service, 12% tip added to the bill without being warned, we asked to replace the mashed potatoes of the dish with fries, the service told us "ok" but did not warn us that there would be a supplement of €5 for frozen McDonald’s fries. The meat is fatty. Very disappointed with this restaurant.

The food is not bad but the service is quite slow. Also the phone signal is non existent and the free WiFi is impossible to log in to - you need to create and account and password. It emails you a password but if you have no signal, you can’t read the email. Useless system.

We were visiting only the office clothes shop and the quality and service are an above expectations.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here recently. Steak was excellent, service very good nice atmosphere made even better by amazingly wonderful waitress Sarah.

Great place in the city friendly staff with great service

How difficult is it these days to stock gluten free bread? It's readily available in any supermarket and can be kept in the freezer until it's needed. I came here for breakfast and the options were incredibly limited (ended up with a plate of 2 poached eggs, two half tomatoes and a quarter of an avocado with some salt and pepper). Disappointing!

I went there for a beer. The beer was good, but the service was average. In addition, they added a 15% tip to my bill without asking. Inside, it's just an ordinary diner.

Great for breakfast with a wide selection of good quality options. Typically busy for breakfast with a good atmosphere. However the popularity can result in service timings being compromised.

Met a client here for a breakfast meeting and very pleased with the experience. The room was quiet enough that we didn’t have to raise our voices to have a conversation, yet enough ambient noise and music that we weren’t worried about being overheard. We ordered a couple of lattes and some breakfast. The drinks were hot and well made, and the food was very good. We had eggs bacon and some avocado toast. Eggs were prepared just as requested, bacon was well cooked and the avocado toast was delicious. Service was good, he was attentive enough to quickly approach when needed, but not interrupt the conversation. I would definitely use the location for future meetings as the atmosphere was very helpful in us having a conversation. Also, I will visit for non work related reasons as the food and service were very good. Definitely recommend this for friends, family, and colleagues.

Had a very enjoyable meal. Service was generally excellent and food was lovely. Only dropped a star in atmosphere as it was very loud in there.

I’m not based in the area but needed somewhere to meet a client for breakfast. This was a perfect choice. Lovely little booths, good service, delicious food. Would highly recommend.

Great service, great food , good location but found it difficult to find initially.

Went for lunch. Service was quick and friendly. Food was what let it down, the Caesar salad was pretty poor for the price (avocados were browned, dressing was more like mayo than Caesar dressing, chicken was overcooked) which was disappointing for something as simple as a salad to be so wrong. The service was really the only saving grace for this meal.

We visited the restaurant after being at the Tower of London. We had a lovely time. The food was very good en the staff was very kind. I had the Kentish bangers and mash. I loved it. The sausages we tender en perfectly grilled and the Madera gravy was finger licking good. My wife had the vegetable pie. And also this was delicious. For sure a place to go back to.

Staff could not find my booking which was embarrassing as i was taking clients out - managed to get a seat but had to find cloak room ourselves and hang over selves - toilet was flooded and service was slow and impersonal.

We made a reservation and were told upon arrival that they were closed for the day because there weren't enough guests. No mail, no call, nothing.

Take doma jite obed z gauce? Objednali jsme si steaky a cekali. Nikdo nas nepresadil, museli jsme se zeptat sami, zda si muzeme sednou k normalnimu stolu a najist se jako lide. Chteli jsme heslo na wifi, poprosili jsme kolem jdouciho barmana, ktery nejen behal po place v dzinach, ale take nam rekl, ze wifi neni zaheslovana, ze heslo nepotrebujeme a odesel. Po jidle jsme poprosili jineho cisnika v saku a ten nam ochotne heslo dal. Behem jidla za nami nikdo neprisel, aby se nas zeptal, zda je vse v poradku, zda neco nepotrebujeme. V cele restauraci byli lide v kosilich a kravatch. My meli na sobe jen zdiny a mikiny a zrejme proto se i k nam tak chovali. Na place behali 4 lide, kteri obsluhovali. Jeden v saku, jeden v dzinach, jeden v zastere a pani mela snad domaci obleceni. Nevim, co si o tom vsem myslet. Bud jsme byli nevhodni zakaznici nebo persinal neumi svou praci.

Went at 12 for quick/quiet lunch with a colleague. Was early in the sitting so not very busy. Service therefore was quick and efficient. Menu is standard fare and the food was good if not spectacular. There was music playing from speakers around the room, not too loud but had to ask my colleague to repeat what they said a couple of times as the acoustics weren't perfect. Not the place for an intimate conversation then. But perfectly fine for a quick and cheerful lunch

It’s a good breakfast spot in the city

Came here having looked at the menu and wanted to try the small plates tapas menu. We were sat down and given menus. When we ordered the surly waiter advised us that small plates were not available and were only possible after 3pm. If that’s the case a) tell us when we sit down or b) put that on the menu. I asked the guy where it said it was only available after 3 and he didn’t even bother to answer - just stood there. Very rude. I did speak to the manager who was much better and seemed to take us seriously so hopefully lessons were learned. I like this place so hopefully it will improve as the food is very good.

On Friday 25th March 2022 I organised a reunion lunch for old friends from the Shipbroking days. Factory House was our first here and hopefully it will not be the last. Through the arrangements, the GM - Kasha was extremely helpful and efficient in response to my enquiries. This continued through to the day when I arrived to find everything in place, staff bright, cheery and welcoming. The food was very good indeed with service to match. I can heartily recommend this establishment for such events as a reunion, party or simply a lunchtime get-together. In these days of often indifference, it was an enjoyable relief to have found this establishment.

The attending lady was one of the most miserable people we met. Clearly rude and distaining of our custom. We debated leaving but we had time pressures so elected to stay and she is certainly the reason we won’t be returning - given our offices are a couple of minutes away and we have four floors of people, we’d have happily conveyed positive reviews had your colleague thought to break out a smile and general politeness and perhaps gotten future custom. Terrible

The menu was substantially reduced amd they didn't even have everything on that. Appreciate that Covid is to blame, but if they are open they should at least offer a reasonable menu.

the meal was excellent , the staff advised me what was ion the specials and event helped selected the wine choice , myself and my family totally enjoyed the experience. I have been here before with a event , and enjoyed that event i decided to return with my family , the manager recognised me , made me feel very welcome. along with the rest on his team , totally happy with the food and service cant wait to visit again

Made a booking through OpenTable which was confirmed, then showed up at The Factory House at the booking time and it was closed.

It was not a busy restaurant, though the service from the waiting staff was lacklustre to say the least. We were a party of 5 people so not a huge group, but had to pay £35 for service. The staff couldn’t even pour water in glasses. Very poor.

I was one of 30 people for lunch here as a group and I was disappointed that their promises were not fully delivered upon. My concerns were: 1. The steaks were only average and mine was rather tough; 2.they did not have enough staff; 3. the waitress was generally argumentative and unhelpful to diners who had not received their food; 4. they did not provide enough chips with the steaks.

Very limited menu with little originality. Food heavily marked up and does not represent value for money. Location means that they can rely on Lloyd's footfall and they are resting on their laurels. Hopefully this places updates their menu for the 21st century or closes. I mean only 1 option that isn't meat or fish...and it's a salad...the same salad that is in the starters. Great business model.

Always great to get a booth. Service is good and friendly. Drinks are good but I am always a little underwhelmed with the breakfasts - and what is worth no butter in a bacon sandwich unless specifically requested?!

Went there again for a lunch with my broking friend. The quality of food and service were better than the last time. Quite satisfied other the restaurant was a little bit noisy.

Nice place but can be very noisy at lunchtime. You can have a meal of just a coffee at the seats near to the bar counter. Overall good.

Generally good experience, although one of our clients had to send a steak back due to a strange odour/taste and wait for another to be cooked. Manager removed this item from the bill though.

We came to the Factory House last week on a corporate dinner, with an international flavour to our diner composition that evening. It was good to see a varied menu catering for different tastes. We had a really good time at the restaurant, the food was excellent and was really good value. Great range of dishes and all very well cooked. The interior of the restaurant is a great space and full marks for the attractive design and fittings of the main room. Staff wise - Very impressive. Special thanks to Ruben and Altea and also to the Italian waiter whose name I have forgotten. Grazie Mille. One tip - Should have a potato options that isn't chips on every menu, especially for the fish dishes. No point mis-matching a nice baked salmon with chips, new potatoes would be a much better fit. Wines were great and the Picpoul is great value. Thanks to all the staff

Good place for informal business meeting and good separation between tables

Monday lunch time for lunch for five people. Helpful waitress recommended a superb Portuguese red wine which was an ideal choice as we were all eating meat as our main course. Shall happily return.

My wife and I have been here twice now and we enjoyed our food and time there both times. The staff are wonderful 🙂

I recently went to The Factory House by Davy's to enjoy a dinner for my partners birthday. Its a little hidden gem in the city but its so close to Swingers Golf & many other bars so you can enjoy a good night out in the area. When we arrived we got seated right away & had a lovely female waitress come to us right away to get our drinks orders, she knew the menu really well & recommended many things to try. We both ordered the sirloin steak with one portion of chips & onion rings to share. This came out beautiful cooked. The meat was perfect & both of our steaks were cooked how we wanted them. The chips & onions rings were some of the best I've had in a restaurant. The cocktails were really lovely as well I would happily go back again

Service was exceptional. It was relatively quiet but the service was not oppressive and was good to see. It’s a favourite place to meet and eat and the decor could do with some attention as it’s starting to look s little tired.

I was having a planning meeting on a private project with a friend and we decided to give the Factory House a try. Nice friendly service albeit a couple of times we had to give them a nudge on drink orders. We started with some drinks and ordered up some hefty steaks. They were cooked perfectly to order and good quality. The sides (chips, vegetables and sauces) were all tasty. The restaurant had a good buzz and the layout and the decor made for a comfortable, relaxed and sociable setting. Price wise, top end for the food in my opinion, but for sure you've got to recognise you're bang in the middle of the City next to Leadenhall Market. I'd go back and give it another go.

More vegetarian options would be good. Only 1 on the menu at the moment which isn’t ideal as a choice.

A really excellent welcome and a lovely well-cooked meal with a great wine list. Knowledgeable staff on hand to advise with a wine choice. An easy going atmosphere away from the bustle of City pub life and a perfect way to have a serious but informal meeting.

A late lunch at the Factory house was such a disappointment, the place has a buzz about it with friendly staff and the starters were tasty, we ordered lobster Thermidor and a pate.

We came here for a work Christmas dinner and found the place to be pleasant in all regards.

If you’re looking for a venue in London to hold a corporate event then this is the place for you. Nothing is too much for the team. The venue itself has lots of space, the food is lovely and the service is fantastic. I had been let down by a few suppliers in the past and the venue have always stepped in to help, even where it wasn’t their job to. I always feel reassured running events here because I know I am in safe hands. A special thanks to Hannah and Enrico for all your help.

Went for breakfast. Good location and the tables provide a good deal of privacy which is not always the case. Service was efficient and the staff were helpful. The food was good. Would recommend it.

Turned up for our breakfast booking at 830am. Seated promptly enough but having waited 15 mins for someone to take our order (including gesticulating politely at passing waiters) we gave up and left. On our way out we explained to one of the waitresses why we were leaving. She didn’t seem too bothered. Think they were understaffed but still this is a very poor show. I’ve been there before without issue and have other breakfast meetings booked there but will probably have to move those elsewhere after this awful experience.

The table we were sat at was dirty as was the cutlery and cups that we were given The service was slow and pretty unfriendly The food was not memorable When there is so much competition nearby, I see little reason to return

Esto es en realidad un Davy's disfrazado y con un menú un poco más amplio. Davy's es una gran cadena de bares de vinos y no estoy seguro de que esta desviación de una fórmula exitosa sea un buen movimiento. Comió una hamburguesa, pidiéndole que fuera lo más raro posible (reconociendo que hay regulaciones sobre cómo deben cocinarse). Lo que llegó fue un plato lleno de adiciones complementarias para enmascarar la hamburguesa por completo: la hamburguesa en sí era densa, recocida y no particularmente apetecible. ¿Podría / debería haber sido mucho mejor? ¿Qué tan difícil es hacer una buena hamburguesa? A fin de cuentas, está bien, pero no se apresuraría a volver.

Once I had found The Factory House the whole experience from the service to the food was very good and now I know where it is I will be back!

Visited today and have to say the sirloin steak was absolutely dreadful. Quite possibly one of the toughest pieces of meat I’ve ever had the misfortune to be served in the square mile.
