The Empire Fish And Chips in North East Lincolnshire

Not the chip shop I'd normally go to when visiting cleethorpes. But mine usually one was closed so came and well WOW genuinely best fish I've had in a long time and will now become my new go to when visiting. Highly recommend. Ps the curry sauce is definitely worth a try to 😂

Was there about an hour ago with my partner absolutely gorgeous would highly recommend. Service was excellent. Will be back again. Great job.

Being by the sea you would think the fish n chips would be good alas no, I don't know how these were cooked but they had grease spots on I think maybe microwaved first. Utterly disgusting hard and nasty fish was weird too I don't know why didn't have a fresh crispness like I'm used to. Waste of £10

Probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Dried up reheated chips. Dry fish in greasy batter. Even the seagulls left them.

Excellent haddock and chips. When I called the staff were welcoming. A smile goes a long way. I was served quickly with freshly cooked fish and chips. Happiness

Paul the owner is a very polite man. With a lot of knowledge of cleethorpes history. Started young working of 8 yrs old. He's a very welcoming character a pleasure to have met him in person. Myself and my father of 86 had the best fish chips pea's and the curry sauce was very tasty unlike Sheffield chippy's. Been today. Travelled from chesterfield on Father’s Day. My husband’s treat. Had fish chips curry sauce and a battered sausage. Absolutely delicious. Red hot. Fish was perfect and tasty. Chips delicious. Staff were friendly. Clean establishment a young man was cleaning down as I was waiting. Thank you - can’t wait to visit again.

Really nice chippy, extremely friendly staff who went out of his way to make it an enjoyable visit for myself, daughter and dog. Lovely hot chips, tables were clean. Ps vegan friendly, dog friendly too

On previous visits to cleethorpes we have had fish and chips from your shop Unfortunately today will be the last, The small haddock was all hard batter hardly any fish drenched in oil. Portion of chips have shrunk and the cup of tea was water with added milk hardly any taste of tea I know businesses are finding it hard and so are the customers they can’t afford to waste money

Went in around 7:30-45 on a Saturday evening, one man stood waiting for his order I think? Two ladies serving, an older one and younger one. They both looked at me - not with a smile may I add & carried on with what they were doing. There was an older man (I presume the owner) who said to the older lady “there’s a customer”. She still carried on point blank ignoring me! Stood there another few minutes then I just walked out. Terrible customer service - all it needed was for one of them to say to me “I’ll be with you in a minute” - just to acknowledge I was there! Never again will I go there, go to the one next door on the corner much better customer service!!!

Visited here on armed forces day because there was hardly a queue and they take card payments . Interesting that the others are cash only - wonder why?? Unfortunately when I saw the prices it appeared I’d be paying a premium but hey - better than queuing for ages. Had the mini fish and chips - £5.20 and the fish was not mini but minuscule . In fact it was a shame to take it from its mother. Think I’ll get some cash out next time and try one of the others - felt severely ripped off here and waited ages once i’d ordered - they have a system but not quite sure who dreamt it up - it doesn’t work .

had fish and chips here over the weekend .and WONT be back for more the chips were as dry as anything the fish was tasteless when went back in to shop to complane they wernt interested my advice is go to another chippy

It was a cold day and we were looking for a good meal to warm us up. This place proved ideal. It wasn't very busy and so our food was cooked to order. This ensured it was fresh and hot. Service is friendly. There are a few tables inside the ordering area, we managed to use one of these and had a good meal.
