Ordered tonight mixed meat and chips tiny bit of meat order all wrong try ring them they hang up never again

On a Sunday teatime, ordered 2 large and 2 small Haddock and chips, got them back to our holiday home, 10 mins away, they were inedible, I would say they had been cooked and kept warm for over 2 hours, straight in the bin, I would have taken them back, but it was chucking it down with rain, worst chippy for miles,

As i entered carlos's fine establishment i was greeted by what i can only describe as a chant you would hear in the pontoon on a saturday afternoon. My concern was raised as i overheard the manager singing "we piss on your fish" and first i thought the fish was smoked but after a taste test it seems carlos needs to increase his water intale during his shift. Dehydration is no joke especially in a hot and busy kitchen environment. Secondly my fears were confirmed when he took off his knock off Birkenstocks and dipped his toes in the baked beans, at this point i opted for the mushy peas and it turns out they taste like ciggies. Carlos's saving grace is he prides himself on service with a smile. Its a shame he doesn't brush his teeth but we can look past that. Overall 7/10.

I'd used this place once before and found the pizza quite good - seemed to be made fresh and all okay. However, I went back this evening for a pie and chips and was accused of having previously abused the owner and called him a "Pakki" (I have never used this term in my life). And as he is clearly of Greek/Turkish origin why would I ? I am in no way prejudiced so his loud and anti-english comments were completely ridiculous. His main concern seemed to be that my mobility scooter may have been blocking access . I would strongly suggest that you avoid this establishment. It is in no way indicative of the normal Cleethorpes folks attitude to cultural diversity

Just had fish and chips hard fish and chips worse fish can t eat the fish cause. It’s that hard. Everything is very bad. Do not order from this shop. 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

The wait time and delivery wasn't too bad to be fair but after that it went down hill. Food was warm not hot. I had Mixed kebab wrap and it was mediocre, BBQ sauce was runny and didn't taste of much rather than thick and tasty. My daughter had chicken poppers and chips, chicken poppers were ok but the chips looked and tasted as though they had been left out for a while and warmed up again. Safe to say it is not the takeaway it once was, which is a shame. Unfortunately I doubt we will use this takeaway again

I only enquired about the curry options and the foreign guy said he was closing 🤷‍♂️

If I could leave 0* I would Food was completely inedible and tasted awful Burger came with no salad /sauce in the most stale and dry bun, chips dry and hard. Donner meat was mushy with a strange tast,chicken Donner was in parts mushy,others rock hard Banoffee pie was near enough fully frozen,some parts were mushy and had a chemical odor/taste Strawberry cheesecake was completely.frozen solid and inedible Garlic sauce has definitely been watered down was like pure water and tasteless All in all the food was diabolical and has made me violently sick The quality of meat used was clearly very cheap While it was quick delivery,that doesn't make up for the disgusting food we were sent and wasted money.on to feel ill AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Just had my delivery and this has got to be the worst takeaway we have ever had. We are on holiday so decided to order on our last night. The whole lot went in the bin and have now had to go get some food from elsewhere to feed the family. This food was not fit to feed pigs

Absolutely horrible the fish was no fish only battery and fish was so small wen it should have been a large chips ok gravy ok delivery 👌 but I was disappointed and shocked by the quality of the fish disgusting..I worked on the pontoon ex filleted for years .

Oh my god… worst food ever.. stay well clear.. if I had a dog I wouldn’t even give it to that for a treat.. rang the take away and they said they never had a complaint in 10!years.. maybe people don’t have taste buds round here… dont be Fooled with the flyer at your caravan

For being in Grimsby with fish galore, the fish cake was very disappointing. The chips were not too good either, however I have had a kebab wrap from here and that was nice.

Nice chips, fish cake and curry sauce but sausage low quality ( no taste), fish over cooked with chewy batter. Friendly delivery service. Wasn't this bad last time, won't be in any rush to come back.

Ordered 7 kids meals, arrived late and the portion size was made for a 2 year old toddler what a joke for almost £4 few chips tiny bit of kebab and a small 25p bottle of pop

Ordered 3 cheesy chip wraps normally regulars for ordering them but this time they was so over crispy and couldn’t even bite the chips as they was just so soaked in oil we contacted Foodhub who then spoke to the guy and he denied us a refund or to send out fresh wraps and said he told us to contact him directly which we did and he was so argumentative wouldn’t let us talk and hung up so was ringing back to talk again and he says he would ring the police this is no customer service and looking at the other reviews he talks to everyone in this way. Food was also half hour late as was told 45 mins we have pictures of the wraps that would break your teeth if you was to eat it way over fried which he said was perfect and it’s a waste of money here and rude service

Absolute disgraceful display of character and business. Ordered food for the family as a treat, waited over an hour and used the last my credit getting in touch with the takeaway to no avail, after no response I contacted foodhub for an estimated time of delivery, which got sorted pretty fast, he said it wouldn't be much longer leaving and I was moderately happy, but a couple of seconds later we received a phone call from the owner, screaming and bawling like an infantile child, He put an extra 15 minutes on the order expecting us not to realise, called my partner every name under the sun and hung up. His ACTUAL phone staff called me back and asked if I still wanted the order, which I told them "No" The Phone staff then gave it a bit of attitude while hanging up on me. I and my partner have both worked in several fast food establishments and smaller scale takeaways and understand that this can be stressful, but this was not they way to go, I will never be ordering from here again and will be spreading the word to say many people as possible.

Ordered a delivery I was told it would be 40 minutes rang after an hour to be told it wouldn't be long & that they'd been busy in the shop with customers. I wouldn't of minded but it was £20 order, definatly won't be ordering from there again 😡

The food was terrible, the chips hard and greasy sausage dry and hard to swallow and the chickens dry and full of grease, nasty after tast and when I rang to complain I got called a lier

I ordered fish & chips on Just Eat and asked for a delivery in an hour's time. Over half an hour after the food was due the app notification was updated to say it had been delivered. When I rang the Mariners to say the order hadn't appeared the bloke on the phone just kept shouting about it not being ready and I was calling too soon, that my order wasn't due yet. After I hung up the app notification changed to 'delivery on the way'. If it ever turns up I'll let you know if it was edible ....

First time order. Waited 1 hour 20 mins for delivery to be paid by cash. Got a text saying no pay. In other words they couldn't find the address or didn't bother obliging the order. Congratulations mariners. We will not be ordering again.

I can not belive what has just been delivered it was diqusting the driver was rude insulted me and the food smelled rotten like literally rotten meat thee last time I order from here I eat takeout everyday another one I won’t go near now waste of money

Spent £34 here and regret it. Not usually the one to leave negative reviews but here I go. The man serving us was so rude, and had no manners or patience whatsoever. If we asked him questions about the food on the menu he just got frustrated and answered us back like we were dumb! The medium chicken shish on naan for the price was terrible. I ordered a kids meal and didn't even get the drink with it!!!! Realised when I got home. Will never be visiting again.

Greasy sausage poor quality low budget chips rude staff. And trying to charge 60p for tomato sauce unbelievable.

My partner and I have just ordered from the mariners in Cleethorpes kebab shop. Seen few mixed reviews. The food came lot hotter than most and we Ordered medium chicken and donner kebabs with salad with garlic sauce with chip. To much to eat definitely another meal tomorrow. My opinion fresh and tasty would definitely recommend this kebab shop

Fish and Chips arrived after it was stated they would be delivered. The fish and chips were cold, they tasted awful, and tasted like they were cooked the day before. Awful, waste of money will not be going there again!

Delivery person always plesant and polite. Food always very nice and hot too. There not tight with portions either. And i also find them to be the best priced local to me.

I have ordered a few times now to save me cooking for friends and family. Everyone loves the Pizzas and my vegan pizza is always amazing. The base has a great doughy feel with a light crisp outer and he’s generous with the toppings. 10/10 reasonably priced too!

Absolute shocking takeaway, would never eat here again. Meat on pizza would barely pass for cat food, on top of that pizza was far smaller than ordered; and was far below microwavable frozen meal standard. Cheese sauce couldn't have been worse if it came from a can. Missed out the cheesy chips on the order. In short go hungry instead of ordering here.

Food was cold and tasteless. Driver shouted at the person that opened the door and made her walk to the car to get the food.

We ordered chips from here and I could have walked the mile odd there, cooked it and walked back before they would have delivered it. When they did turn up, the chips had the texture (and taste) of Captain America's codpiece and the garlic sauce was the consistency of a wet fart. One of us had a kebab and upon being asked, it was described at passable, becoming rancid towards the end. The sausages and egg we made were nice though. 10/10 would not recommend

Definitely recommend chicken Donna and chips. Sorry forgot to take picture but it was nice. Only halal food place that was open at lunch. We were staying at Cleethorpe but there was no halal food available during lunch. Thanks mariners.

Got large fish and chips but the chips were so under cooked they were practically anemic. Took back for refund got a very negative response from whoever served me even called me a smack head for some reason. I guess he was having a bad day. I won't be back

Fish was old and like chewing gum. I threw at my window and it bounced back and I have only one eye. Smelled horrible like old socks

Whent for a fish n chips Sunday tea food was rubbish fish n chips were cold and properly left over from earlier in the day fish was like a rubber sole and if what I ordered as a large fish was right I've had bigger fish fingers .the beans n peas looked like they had been cooking for a week the chips were cold and again properly left over from earlier and the sausage was the same will never go to this place ever again they should probably stick to the pizza menu absolutely garbage binned the lot .

Ordered fish and chips, a shish kebab and a bottle of drink last night through just eat. It actually came within the time stated but it was stone cold and we had to warm it up in the microwave and we were sent the wrong drink.

Today I ordered a 12" pizza. When it was delivered it looked small so I measured it 10". I contacted them and they said it was a "platter pizza". Obviously "platter inches" are different. I think I got conned, a round pizza 10½" in diameter is only 87% the area of a 12" pizza. I was a regular customer, but no more! See photo.

Terrible delivery service, I'm sure in-store service is better, but over 3hrs wait for fish and chips to be delivered! I rang twice for an update to be told "it's good friday, what do you expect?". I expect you to ready when you know you're going to be busy and just be honest with your customers, don't tell them it's gonna be this that and the other when you know full well it isn't. Gravy was like water, chips were slightly warm and very greasy and "large" fish? What a large stickleback?! Absolutely awful place. 100% will not be using this place again. I do not usually write reviews, but you need to know how bad you are. Take notes and adapt.

i have always enjoyed your food for many years. i mainly order calzones or chargrilled kebabs as i don't like doner meat. everything has always been beautifully cooked, salad is fresh and all food is tasty. i bought a dessert the other day, a raspberry and chocolate torte, gorgeous! thank you for putting in the effort and delivering top quality food.

I’ve ordered from here three times and been absolutely disgusted everytime. The only reason I’ve tried so many times is because it’s the last place open on just eat and you just kinda hope it was just a bad day but it’s just disgusting inedible food and the owner has a terrible attitude. If the stick that you hold your car bonnet up with breaks then order the fish from mariners and use that instead. I keep one under my bed now to chase burglars away with. The mushy peas were really watery and tasted like fags and the way they talk to customers is disgusting. I really really hope they get shut down they’re an absolute embarrassment I’ll attach some pictures of their replies to customers on just eat.

I placed an order via JUST EAT but it got declined as they banned me for no reason for placing an order from my supported living home as they thought that I was someone else (who left before I came to the supported living house that it was going to be delivered to) I had to have a dispute with their staff so was allowed but had to text my order in to the delivery driver. Never again will I use the takeaway

Worse customer service ever - raw chicken and burned donner meat; called and told them and was told we were lying, all puddings were FROZEN - like biting into a choc ice that had been in the freezer since 1996.

Definitely not ordering again I think the chicken was still running round the box onion rings lookd like shreks foreskin get better food in prison fuming as well cos I had a magnum in the freezer for afters but had to use it as a meal replacement

Just been in and ordered food, shop assistant was rude from us walking in the door. She snapped at us and didnt listen to what I ordered. She barked as me was there anything else I wanted from the back of the shop as it would save her legs. When I politely said that masks made it difficult to hear she snapped that her mask didnt cover ears! The chips didnt look appetizing and the fish didnt look worth the hassle so I walked out and told her I didnt like her attitude! Dont touch it folks

a human hair in my farmhouse pizza. On complaining it was apparently one of my family members fault. how they embedded the hair in the pizza while in the sealed box is beyond me. Wont be using mariners again

I should of checked the reviews before ordering. Never in my life have I had food from a takeaway like the one I received tonight. I ordered 3 x chicken and chips twice, onion rings and pizza magahrita. Easy You would of though but no!!!!! Only 2 x pieces received in each box firstly, the chips well you wouldn’t of fed them to the dog, cold, greasy some undercooked and looked bloody disgusting, chicken!! Well if you could call it that more like well done bone carvasd , hardly any chicken on them and again very very greasy and looked unimaginable. The onion rings were cold greasy and you could tell they were a cheap product maybe Tesco value or Asda price items. The pizza was again so greasy cold and rubbery. I have never ever left a bad comment on any website but felt people need to know what they are getting. This place really needs closing down. I would of rang the takeaway back up if it would of been a local of mine but as we are only down here at cleethorpes for the weekend I can’t be bothered making a fuss but people need Know this takeaway is the worst ever by far. It really needs a toxic sign putting on the front of the shop. KEEP WELL AWAY. BE WARNED.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTINGOrdered food from here with the mistake of not checking trip advisor first! where do i start!!!Placed my order on the phone, i was told someone would call me back with the price.. No one did! the price was also more than i had added up..and hour and half later, still no food, called them back and was told to meet them in 10 mins, they was late so i was hanging about for a while.. The food was cold, chips was disgusting , rock hard! the fish i think they had forgot to put in the batter!!! overcooked chewy and dry.. the pizza was soggy! and didn't send something i ordered . Called them to tell them i wasn't happy, they was rude! i asked for part refund they said no and that a manager would ring back, 15 min later, no phone call.. Basically ordered regular kebab, and i felt like there missing meat. Went to this shop and showed my delivered kebab., and owner showed me and explained how they cooking and serving meat. Actually i was surprised how they dong it, i liked it.They are serving a little of meal on regular, so you want go on large. And i got double meat on my kebab after visiting shop anyways. So you can do probably the same. He was Very helpful, taste was also good. But my chicken was a little overcooked, chips better fro kfc or definitely makkies. So will rate experience 4 stars,!

Absolutely disgusting. Found a black hair in my food, not ours as we are all blonde. Order a Cod and get a small haddock. Peas and curry where like water. Fish is meant to be white but its brown.

Stopped here on way home after nice day at beach 7pm ish ... regret not being prepared to queue a while on seafront and most other fish and chip shops were closed or closing, so this was our ‘hobson’s choice’.Entered an empty shop with an adult and two older children behind counter, was not even acknowledged for a few minutes until another lady appeared from the back and she finally asked me what I wanted. I was bewildered by the menu (huge selection) but ordered small sausage and chip meals each for 2 kids plus haddock fish meal and extra chips for us parents. (We usually order this much at home) I went to pay with card but was told ‘we only take cash’ - slight surprise given the very visible direct posters and signs about COVID and face masks etc - but luckily I had cash and said it was no problem). During the order ... wearing prerequisite mask ... I was snappily told “I can’t hear you” to which I apologised and spoke a little louder ... but the lady was just generally abrupt and rude. (Note: I am always incredibly polite as a customer and am more likely to apologise for my sometimes ditsy behaviour than be rude or even comment about poor service)Was told (after paying) that chips had ‘only just’ been put in so would be 5mins or so. Said this was ‘ok’ and was told (before I’d had chance to complete transaction) “you’ll have to stand outside though!” Which I had every intention of doing anyway.I waited 15 minutes whilst others (I assume ‘regulars’ and one delivery driver wearing mask under his nose!) entered, chatted and then waited outside too. When the lady (who had been joined by a man who I now assume is the owner) finally pointed at me, I entered and she repeated my order incorrectly. She couldn’t properly remember the other orders either and had a fish cake on its own ready wrapped and thought it was with my order ... it sat on side whilst they completed mine. She started with kids meals ... sausages were very small and battered - which is not what I ordered but decided to go with it as we were very hungry and I was by now a bit reticent to mention as everything else had been a problem.I asked for sauce and if they were included or extra (I saw bottles) she said extra (I already had some money ready to pay so was prepared topay) so I asked for tomato sauce on sausage meals. She grumbled that they were satchets and how many I wanted (she didn’t show me what kind of satchet so I didn’t know how large they were not the price each) so I was trying to work it out in head as to who wanted what. I ordered 4 and 2 mayo and was told “we don’t do mayo in satchets!” So I’d need a small or large tub. I said “small please” (given I’d asked for two satchets) but I got a small mushy peas size tub FULL of mayo (total waste and risky in the car) so she charged me £1 for sauce. When the open-ish sausage meals were in a small tray and the lady said “Are these for kids? Be careful as they are very hot” (the only ‘nice’ bit of service) so I realised my mistake in not getting them wrapped and asked politely if I could just have a bit of paper underneath for them. She huffed and gave me a half greaseproof sheet each for them. I also said “I’m going to need some 2 more tomato sauce please” and left 30p on counter while I took the two kids meals to the car in order to return for the adult meals. My husband in the car said “don’t be silly we’re not going to sit and eat here!” so I realised my error in not getting fully wrapped and he went in to ask for the rest to be wrapped. He returned to the car with the adult meals wrapped and utterly fuming as the lady had huffed at him too and said “are you joking?!” then said to him it would be 30p extra for paper. He was outraged and didn’t know I’d already left that much on the side for extra tomato sauce but returned to the car saying how rude she was ... I then told him they had given bad service generally so he was going to return to the shop and ‘inform them’ but I told him to leave it and we drove off to find somewhere nicer to eat it. When we stopped... the fish was very greasy, chewy batter and not very nice flesh, chips were under fried (despite the long wait) and the sausages were gross but kids ate them as we had no other choice. Made a mental note not to go anywhere to eat in a place we’re visiting without checking reviews .... checked next day and google has plenty of similar reviews (seems only locals are happy with service due to it being so close and open late - what other city’s fast food shops mostly close at 7pm??!!) and worse ... but I’m not a google account holder so thought I’d post here instead! I understand cost of packaging and waste etc ... but nothing was explained to me nor clearly visible about it, so I just assume this is included in their prices (isn’t this what all takeaways do?!) plus I HAD actually left 30p on the counter and DIDN’T get my extra 2 sauce sachets ... so there was NO need to speak to us like that - when we weren’t even complaining. However, according to other reviews ... even if you do complain you get the same or worse service response.

Absolutely disgusting, having placed an order for myself and my two daughters to find a maggot on one of my chips. No words for it, I'm pregnant too and my kids was distraught. Wouldn't recommend. Have contacted environmental health. Also do have pictures.

My daughter bought herself & 2 children a chippy meal 27th may 2020 .started eating it to find a maggot on her chip ..shes pregnant so what risk is this eating filthy food also when she rang they put the phone down on her .

We ordered take away with them using food hub a week ago!. It stated that are order was delivered however it wasn’t! Spoke to some idiot of a girl on the phone who had the most disgusting attitude. Saying they will not refund as we had the food!. Yet the same night we had a phone call saying so we still want our food at like 10am at night! When we ordered three hours prior .
