The Elephant & Castle in Wakefield

As usual great nights stay , rooms immaculate . Staff are really nice as are the local punters . Great pint at a more than reasonable price .

Dropped in here as we had 45 mins between trains. Beautiful pub and friendly staff and regulars. Good real ale and wine consumed.

I stayed at the accommodation here and it was absolutely top notch, clean, tidy, quiet, comfortable bed and with a fantastic bar downstairs with even better pricing!

Unsafe stay at this pub overnight left me feeling panicked and vulnerable as a solo female traveller. Was attending a nearby party and on return to the pub had to negotiate a padlocked builders type security fence, a dark courtyard and an electronic keypad to my room that didn’t work. I was left stranded in the corridor at 1am with no emergency contact details and all alone. All this for £120 a night. I have stayed in so many places over the years both big and small and have never felt that scared. I raised this with the pub by signed for letter (the email address didn’t work) and I have received neither a reply nor an apology. Poor show Elephant and Castle. You could do so much better!!

Got Roofied here last Friday, glad I had family with me to look after me or it could have been a mess. Certainly not just beer, I've never been like that and soo quickly.. avoid since this was early so I hate to think what could happen to a young woman on a night out.......

Lovely little pub …especially after the refurb. Cosy Fire and Christmas Decs, Friendly staff and Very reasonably priced drinks with clean toilets that smelled lovely …what more could you want ! 😊

Newly refurbished pub in the city centre. Established for many years on the West Gate Run and popular with railway customers which I believe has been adversely affected by the relocation of the station entrance. My first visit since it opened its doors a few weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised by the refurbishment. Well furnished, bright and comfortable with a good range of beers and lagers, no food offered though. Modern clean toilets which is not always the case these days.
