Lovely location. Extremely expensive. Busy and loud. Not very cosy

Delicious food, served by lovely people in a pleasant and airy space. Our new favourite cafe. All the food we've had has been excellent (and mostly healthy), but the Lemon Meringue Pie is truly exquisite. For breakfast you can't beat a Flat White and a Morning Bun. Though their cooked dishes are delicious too.

Pricey but great food and a lovely atmosphere. Worth a visit but expect high end casual cafe and prices to match

What a little gem of a plce. Only grabbed some takeaway coffees and pastries, but want to book a table as very much want to try their breakfast/lunch menu. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no rush and it was only becuase they were so busy which is good to see. Super friendly staff and great coffee and pastries.

We were guests in this cute little café very spontaneously and felt very comfortable. From ordering with the very friendly service to the lovingly prepared cakes and the good coffee to the reasonable prices, it was a very pleasant atmosphere. We'd love to come back

An endearing place, a little gem out of nowhere along the River Thames. Service is amazing: staff always wearing a big grin. Food: staples served in a sophisticated way. Coffee: the kick you need for a good day.

What a lovely place this has been! The food is reasonably priced and it feels really organic and good on your palate. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the whole team is hospitable. If you're in the area, you must visit.

We had an excellent brunch here last Sunday. The place was very busy, so we were glad we had reservations, and we were seated upstairs after only a couple minute wait. Our food was very good - in particular the grilled banana bread. They also have some excellent and a bit out of the ordinary pastries - so glad to see something more than chocolate croissants and cinnamon rolls.

Dined here a few weeks ago and had the delicious Vietnamese pancake which was incredible! I was more pushed for time yesterday so had the roast chicken toastie which was fresh and delicious also. I really like their cinnamon buns so always take one home with me! I struggled to understand the other negative reviews on here. Just before my first visit there I messaged to check if I needed to book and Lindsay who I believe may be the owner replied direct to me. I found the staff friendly and I thought the decor and bathrooms were beautiful ❤️

Stopped in for a flat white after a walk along the Thames. What a beautiful hidden gem! Coffee hit the spot and the interior design here is very stylish (even the toilets!). Love the room towards the back with plants as well. Great service and coffee, too.

Disappointing. Salad for £15 which probably cost £1 to make and service added without being asked. Have been many times but it feels like a rip off now

What a great place this is! Thought it was just a coffee n cake shop in the early days, how wrong I was! Everything is fabulous. The food was healthy and very tasty. The kitchen was clean, as you can see in from the dining areas. Eating inside and out, in the small courtyard at the back. Another thing to consider is book in advance, especially at weekends. It's great after a walk along Chiswick Mall. Go on do it, you know you want to! l will be going back again, soon.

Found this café while out for a bracing Sunday morning walk along the Thames with friends. It looked quite small and was busy, but we were greeted by smiling staff who found us a table upstairs. The menu was complemented by a specials board. Great choice of unusual and tempting dishes, including vegetarian options. Staff were very good, the coffee was good and the full English breakfast was excellent - the egg was poached perfectly!

Lovely place to work from! They have a quiet place upstairs where you can sit with your laptop. Only downside is that there is no much air and it’s very hot in summer upstairs. Variety of food, nice lady at the entrance taking your order :) Highly recommended

A really beautiful space, the coffee is delicious and the service really good! We loved the vegan kimchi fried rice, super filling and one of the best things I have eaten recently. Highly recommended!

A delightful little cafe by the river. The oat cookie and coconut macaroon were delicious and I loved the sunny courtyard.

Lovely location and lots of nice seating. First we sat outside in a courtyard but when it started to rain there was luckily plenty of space upstairs. Lots of tempting food and drink options- any place that serves both cortados and croque madames is a winner in my book. I really liked the little touches, for example I got a cookie and it had salt baked into the top. It wasn't something I would have thought to put on it, but I loved it!

Had a really wonderful afternoon Matcha with my sisters. Gorgeous calm setting. We sat upstairs which was lovely. You can go for a walk along the river afterwards which is a real highlight.

Love this local cafe. Very much a nice community vibe. Food is always fresh. Love the brunch bowl and the Vietnamese pancake was delicious too. They also make gluten free bread and have some daily baked goods by the till. Staff were friendly and attentive. They have a nice outdoor area.

Really enjoyed my short visit here to meet a friend for brunch. I had the banana bread and it was beautiful! And absolutely delicious! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, toilets were clean and spacious - all round lovely visit.

Aside from one 40+ old italian barista/front staff, I love everything about this place, if it wasn’t for him, I’d go there every day.

Went there quite spontaneously for a quick coffee and it was a great shot! I don’t know how but they made the oat milk taste so sweet and creamy, and the coffee itself was of a high quality. The atmosphere is cute and welcoming, and their brunch hot menu as well as sweet treats look delicious, definitely will grab something next time!

I was very excited to visit the Elderpress Cafe having followed their instagram for a while. I made a morning of it and walked along the river. We arrived and I was impressed by the bright and spacious layout and artwork. We stood at the door for a prolonged period of time. I recognised that they were busy and I caught a member of staffs attention to ask if there was space to be seated. I was told there was and to wait further up. We stood for a further 10 minutes before a delightful older blonde lady at the till asked what we were waiting for. I advised that we had been told to wait here to be seated. This lady asked her colleague if there was a free table to which she responded yes, (brunette women) and she left us with her as I assume this was her section. The table sat empty along with others, but again we were not seated for a further 10 minutes - in fact this lady barely acknowledged us again until I asked if it would be a long wait for the already empty table we were told we could have. We were sat at the table and told that final brunch orders were in 10 minutes. We understood, although it took us asking to order for our order to be taken. At this stage my partner wanted to leave, but having spent the time walking here I asked that we stay for the food and see the experience through. I ordered the orange juice and a special of the croque monsieur. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and delicious, although the sides had not been wiped down and caused a lot of stickiness. The croque monsieur was enjoyable. We had to ask for water twice, we had to ask for napkins and when the time came we had to ask for the bill as well. I understand being busy, but it was poorly managed with little to no communication with the customers and I felt stressed observing how overwhelmed the staff were - which made for an unpleasant experience. I truly believe this place has the potential to be one of the best, and the blonde lady at the till was very warm and welcoming.

A nice, quiet cafe very close to the river. A very good cinnamon bun masquerades as a morning bun with lovely orange zest for the morning part.

The ‘morning bun’ is one of the best baked goods I’ve tasted in a London bakery. It blows anything you can get from Gail’s out of the water. Honestly, so so tasty! I would visit for the ‘morning bun’ alone. But other than that, you’ll find really friendly staff, great service, a lovely large cafe with lots of seating, a great menu, and deliciously cooked food. I love this as a place to catch up with friends and for the odd ‘work from home’ session.

Busy and popular, has a great menu.

I found this place by chance when I was on the road with Brompton. The cafe was so cosy, the food delicious and the staff very friendly. You can see it in the pictures. When I'm in Loden again soon, I'll definitely stop by.

LOVE this place. Food tastes amazing, every ingredient carefully thought out. Coffee great too and all the staff are super friendly. Also, great location, a minute from a beautiful river walk.

During the pandemic I had no money and desperately needed a cup of water went in there asked for some tap was denied since the excuse was it’s the pandemic you can’t give water you have to buy.

It was a warm sunny February and the cafe was heaving. There were no tables available online, so living nearby I popped in and asked for a table later, which was no problem. I had a delightful single estate coffee and a muffin that was still warm from the oven and amazingly tasty. My companions has the mushrooms on toast with an extra egg, which is one of my favourites, and was very much enjoyed, and a couple of daily specials, also bursting with flavour. The front of house lady was terrific and the owner was rushing around clearing the tables!

Wow! What a find. Stunning interior, super tasty food and incredible service. You must visit this place but be sure to book. Mushrooms on toast - yum! And the cakes were so good I had two.

Been here a few times. It’s nearly tucked away just back from the river. Fantastic if you want a pit stop and out for a long walk along the river. The food was tasty and decent coffee. Would come back again

It's rare for a cafe to get everything right but the brunch was delicious and innovative, not your standard eggs Benne. The coffee was really good and so are the pastries. To top it off the service was great as well.

The quality of food is very high, how they serve each plate is special, coffee tastes great, pastries are freshly backed in house and the variety and freshness is so appealing. The kitchen is full of staff who are professional and you can see they love what they are doing! Most importantly, you will always get a smile at the till even at busiest times:) Highly recommend!

My sisters & I had lunch in this beautiful café yesterday. 2 of us had the fresh & delicious Vietnamese pancake. One of us the brunch mushrooms & poached egg on toast. Equally good. Quality coffee. Efficient staff. Clean & attractive decor. Spotless loos. Nice little courtyard. Wished i'd had room for cake. Only thing i wasn't keen on was all the dogs, but many people would find that a plus. Anyway, I'll be back!

The best cafe in Chiswick, possibly in London altogether. The food is impeccable, with fresh flavours and creative menu choices. As good as it gets.

Quite a nice café with very tasty food & friendly staff. It’s much bigger than it looks on the outside. There’s an outdoors seating area for sunny days, a buzzy ground floor area (both dog friendly) & a more quiet floor upstairs for people who ‘work from home’. Definitely worth a try! The photos are from dishes I’ve ordered on different occasions: mushroom on toast, salmon pancake, chicken toastie & banana bread. All delicious, but I found the chicken toastie a bit too rich/oily.

I used to go and recommend anyone that enjoys going for cafe this place until today. Last Sunday, I went to there for breakfast with my friends and my daughter, we're 4. And majority of the seating which is along the ground floor was reserved (really dont know who would reserve them ) it was obviously questionable and the guy who was a kind of manager did not let us to sit one of them even if I told him that we dont wanna go upstairs with my toddler but they were really busy so that i didnt bother me so much and we went to upstairs. The size of Flat White could be criticised compare to their competitors within the area. Well, this morning i took my pc to grab a coffee and work a while and reason was going there because Artisan Cafe was full and there were no table to work, actually The Elders Cafe was my second choose which will not be even last choose from now on. The seating was almost full but was lucky to find an empty seating and after order my coffee opened my PC as well. And received the most irrelevant question from a coffee shop, they asked how long I was planning to work with my PC there because this place is for dining not for working, shocked because this is not a restaurant its a cafe and never seen any place which cant work with a PC. really disappointed while I used to recommend this place for many people, I think they are really busy but if they will continue like that they would start to lose their current and potential customers.

I had the most lovely book club meet at this cafe and the scenery was beautiful and the location was amazing. In addition to this, we had the most AMAZING waitress, her name was Yasmin and she made sure we had everything we needed and she was so friendly and lovely. I’d go back just because the service was so amazing, the food was a bonus too! The chocolate coffee cake is to DIE for.

Food was outstanding and there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Would recommend everyone to go

Lovely cafe with the most beautiful interior design. All the colors and objects will make you feel happy and calm. I think the coffee was good, not excellent but I enjoyed being here so much that I hice it 5 stars. We shared a chocolate & beet cake, which was delicious. It’s worth stopping by if you are in the area.

A lovely place tucked away next to the river, with plenty of seating spaces (make sure you explore the back area and the small patio), great cakes and pastries and delicious coffee.

Nice pastries, coffee very bitter . I had tip added to bill without even shown the bill breakdown. Not very nice.

Nice little cafe near the river. Clearly someone there cares about what they are doing. It’s not always perfect but the care is enough for me so worth a visit.

The service was very poor! We sat on a table waiting for a long time. Nobody came to clean the table from whatever was left from the previous client. So, we did it ourselves. Then we decided to move to another table as the sun came out and we had to move inside. Same story. Nobody was there to clean. Coffee was ok, nothing special. The place is very narrow and the tables are in rather odd locations. Plus, there is no view to anything. Overall, we wasted our time! Not recommended at all!

Dog friendly and always fabulous. Great coffee, amazing baked goods and one of the best sandwiches in West London (the Chipotle chicken). Really popular in the morning, opens at 8am. If you haven't been while you are walking down the river, this place is a "must" pop in!

Lovely place and atmosphere. You have space to lock bikes too,also there is back garden and a fantastic room full of plants and books. Staff friendly and food delicious. Many flavours combined really well together. I could see they really cared about what they were cooking, which nowadays it's rare to find. Well done!
