I visited with a small group of friends. On arrival, noticing that we were a group, a staff member quickly put tables together for us. It was a busy Friday lunchtime, we were advised that it could be a wait for food. I had schnitzel with chips. Other members of the group had sandwiches and fish and chips. All meals were sizeable portions and nicely served. We needed to leave at a certain time, and the waitress was very helpful in bringing the bill promptly. The pub is clean, as are the toilets. There are seats outside on the (pedestrianised) street too, or in a courtyard.

A group of us are often working in the Twickenham area on Monday/Tuesday and we are always looking for somewhere for supper. Tried a few pubs now (The White Swan, Barmy arms, Cabbage Patch, The Fox). The Eel Pie is one of the more recent ones and has a certain attraction on Monday evenings as 30% off food!! Anyway we like the atmosphere there and food good (typical pub food) along with good beers. Perhaps bar staff need to just up their game a little bit in terms of promptness but nevertheless really nice people. We will no doubt keep coming back especially with the Monday evening discount !

Late lunch. Very disappointing. Food was OK, but service was not good. Had to ask for menus and had to go to the bar as no-one came to take an order. When it came, we were not offered any condiments, ie ketchup. No-one came to check on us and nothing said as we left. An incredibly unprofessional performance, only out shadowed by the disabled loo which was disgraceful. Taps had yuk around them and the loo was badly stained.

Ordered 2 small red wines, charged for 2 medium wines. When we questioned this the bar man said we only serve medium or large. Would have been nice to be told this before the drinks were poured and card machine presented for payment. When we mentioned this bar man was rude and said read the menu then walked off. Obviously they don’t care about customer service in this pub. Won’t be going back

Came here before a match at Twickenham after a recommendation and it didn’t disappoint! Lovely atmosphere in the pub and very comfortable seats. Obviously it was going to be busy on a match day but the service for drinks and food was quick and the staff were friendly. The match day food offerings were great and lots of choice despite it being a limited menu, from burgers to sausage and mash there was something for everyone.

A great venue down the iconic Church Street, Twickenham. Outdoor space at back and seats at the front. There was even some amazing live music. Sadly the food was awful. My friend ordered the cauliflower wings, which arrived overcooked, and were not at all like the pictures on the website. I had the chicken burger which was also overcooked, not fresh and couldn’t even get a ripe tomato slice right. If you sort out your food, this could be an amazing venue.

The Eel Pie Pub in Church Street, Twickenham is highly recommended. There is an area around the fireplace that has comfortable leather club chairs. Above the fireplace is a mirror that can also be a TV. There is a good selection of beers served by friendly staff. The menu is adequate and the food is good. However on Rugby Match days they only serve burgers cooked on an outdoor bbq. These burgers are to be avoided as they are tough and tasteless. Definitely the worst I have ever had.

I only came in here because it looked so quaint lit up at night in gorgeous, olde-worldy Church St. Then was in heaven when I saw the row of Badgers beer pumps smiling up at me. Now, not everyone likes Badgers beers--my friend thinks they taste like cheesy old slippers gone off. But I love that unique Badgers taste, so I drank along the line. The pub was showing football, but discreetly towards the side and back. It is a nice old joint with efficient staff and a good mix of clientele, judging by my visit. The Eel Pie and the Fox on this street gave me a very good evening on my one night in Twickenham.

Classic traditional pub, dominated by a huge amount of rugby memorabilia linked to its proximity to Twickenham Stadium, which is about 15 minutes walk from the ground. I was there on the morning of an international match against Australia, so the atmosphere was great. It has a good selection of real ales and craft lagers, but it’s worth visiting just for the memorabilia, which is mainly about rugby. But one room is also dedicated to the nearby Eel Pie Island and its history as the location of a celebrated music venue. Even the ceiling is covered with reproductions of playbills from the Eel Pie club. This is a big pub with some additional outdoor seating for good weather.

Having booked and it being a sunny day, we asked if we might sit outside in the courtyard area - to be told they didn't serve food there. Strange then that the waitress was continually carrying food outside to diners.SERVICE was very slow, despite the restaurant area being very quiet.MENU one of our guests has slight eating problems so had viewed the menu online and wanted sausages and mash. To be told, "The online menu is out of date and it's no longer served." (Note: Still on the online menu today...) So she opted for Scotch Egg. Sorry, we're out of that. So all she could eat were some overpriced sweet potato fries.Another guest wanted Parmesan Chicken, to be told "Sorry, we're out of that." How do you run out of chicken?!DRINK: Pint of Peroni £5.15 Am I buying the glass as well?So in summary, slow service, poor menu choice, overpriced, food nothing special.

Walking down the lane to this cosy pub is like stepping back in time. It has loads of character from the huge log fire, old rugby memorabilia and quaint charm. A proper pint too!

Went to the Eel Pie for Father's Day lunch and was overwhelmed by the incredible service in this pub. The pub was busy and the beer garden almost full. They also had tables outside the front as part of the 'Church Street Goes Green' event taking place today. The staff were friendly, efficient and very helpful, giving great advice on the menu and beers on offer. The food came out quickly, was all delicious and was very good value for money. We had a selection of platters to share including mezze & meat (best pork pie i've had in a long time!) which we were delighted with. We saw the table next to us receive huge, fresh fish & chips, which looked great too, so that may sway me next time! The children's menu is the best value I have seen in a long time, with decent portion sizes & ice cream included. For those with pets, the pub also offers 'doggy ice cream!' A fabulous experience and the perfect choice for the relaxed, stress free Sunday lunch we were looking for.And it also happens to be in the quaintest street in Twickenham!

Popped in for beer as we passing by, the pub itself is quite nice, but there were a couple of guys by the bar who were drunk and using foul language and the bar staff didn't ask them to keep it down, so the atmosphere was unpleasant, had one beer which wasn't that good and left.

We used to order often food from Batterfly, delivered at home. This time we went to have lunch at the place with my wife (disabled) and our westie. The owner (he was alone) refused us because of our little dog. The room was empty, and our dog under the table could not have done any dammage. However this is not indicated anywhere on the door or restaurant window. No compromise, no kindness, no apologies for the absence of warning. It was clear the guy (the boss, because he said "I decide") did not want us, nor maybe any client today. We won't order anything from him anymore. The food is generally acceptable, but not better than elsewhere.

We really appreciated the welcome , preparation, care and attententiveness shown to our family and guests by Jackson and his staff for my family wake. Jackson was kind, sensitive and thoughtful from the planning right through to the hosting on the day which was reflected by his team too. Many people commented on the welcome , tasty food , and thoughtful service. A special thank you for helping with the music too. We would highly recommend Jackson and the Tapestry to others .

Well, we were here today for a Mothers Day lunch. We’d been a couple of years ago and it’s been decorated since then. It looks much better. We looked at some of the meals been served nearby and they all looked decidedly underwhelming and a bit “ greasy spoon cafe”. So, undeterred we thought we’d play it safe. We just ordered mains. One daughter had the mussels and my wife, myself and our other daughter had the roast chicken. The chicken was really nice but the vegetables were overdone, the Yorkshire pudding was a limp sponge and my roast potatoes looked like boiled ones. Having said all that I did polish everything off and it was quite tasty. Jess said her mussel sauce was a bit bland and the portion was small for a main course. As for the positives: the wine was good, my gluten free beers were great, our cocktails (quite a few of them) were very good and so was my coffee. But everything took an age to come out of the kitchen and one of the blokes bringing it out looked like he’d been sleeping in a duvet in the nearest bus shelter. Our waiter, the only English chap, was excellent but he had to keep apologising for the slow service. For Richmond, the prices were not bad and we actually had a very nice time - but then we are a family that gets on and pretty much always have a good time when we are out. In essence, it’s a good place in some ways but a gastro pub it is not.
