Didn't stay in rooms so can't comment on those. Quite a large, free car park, with disabled spaces. Lovely building, very cosy feel. Beautiful courtyard with large fountain if you want to dine al fresco. Staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. Food was amazing! Very reasonably priced. Highly recommended!

I have never in my life come across such a poorly run establishment. Closing for food at 9pm and was told at 7.45 that they were not serving food. Staff are unbelievably rude incompetent and clueless. No customer service whatsoever. I used to eat here regularly and I could probably serve myself and cook my own dinner in your kitchen before the staff are even aware that someone would like serving. Absolutely abysmal. It's such a shame. It used to be lovely here. The problem is not the food. It's the service and the staff. Laughing stock.

Mediocre food. 3 meals ordered. 1 came out cold. Sent back for remake, and they left the sauce, so we ended up with hot steak and cold sauce. Chicken and pancetta pie had no or almost no pancetta. Vegetables looked like they had been sat warming for a while. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

Aa requested, pre ordered meals for a group of nine people at 18:30. Took approximately 2hrs for the starters to arrive, and 3hrs for the mains. We were told it was because they were very busy. Clearly they had oversold tables. Would not return, despite service charge being removed, and £50 good will gesture being applied to the table.

This is without a doubt, one of the best hotels I have stayed at in the country. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the next time I need a hotel anywhere in Warwickshire, I would be willing to travel the extra distance to stay here again even if there were closer hotels to where I’m working.

Beer was in good condition, starters were tasty and large. The chicken in the katsu curry was cremated! Not good at all. As it was a stop over before carrying on our journey we didn’t have time to moan. I’ve been to a lot of puns in the group and they tend to be better than this.

I booked a table for my Wifes birthday and recieved a text to confirm the booking for 7.30. I arrived at 7.30. Spent 5 minutes parking the car. Went in and waited 5 minutes for somebody to approach us. The place was rammed. I was then told that my booking had been cancelled as we were not there for 7.30. I was then told that there was no table available anyway and that they were already behind on serving tables by at least 45 minutes. So,even if we had arrived at 7.30,there would not have been a table available, despite booking one!! What a poor way to run a restaurant. My advice, don't bother booking a table as it is a waste of time as the booking is meaningless. In fact don't waste your time booking at all. Go elsewhere. This restaurant will let you down and obviously does not care for it's customers.

From the moment I arrived at The Dun Cow Inn, I knew I’d stumbled upon something special. Tucked away in the heart of Rugby, this place is more than just a pub with rooms, it’s a genuine home away from home. I stayed for a couple of nights and honestly didn’t want to leave. The accommodation was spotless, cozy, and full of character, exactly what you’d hope for in a historic inn. My room was peaceful, well-appointed, and had one of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in while travelling. Every little detail had clearly been thought through. But what truly sets The Dun Cow apart is the people. The staff were incredible, warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive without ever feeling overbearing. From the bar team to the servers in the restaurant, everyone had a smile and a moment for a chat, which really made all the difference. And then there’s the manager! What an absolute credit to the place. Friendly, approachable, and clearly passionate about what they do. They made the rounds checking in on guests, always ensuring everything was up to standard. It’s rare to see that level of personal touch these days, and it didn’t go unnoticed. The food? Outstanding. I had dinner both nights and was blown away. The steak was cooked to perfection, and the sticky toffee pudding should be famous it’s that good. Breakfast was equally impressive, with generous portions and top-notch quality. All in all, The Dun Cow Inn offers the full package: excellent food, comfortable lodging, and a team that genuinely cares. I left feeling well-rested, well-fed, and thoroughly looked after. I can’t recommend it enough and will absolutely be back.

Argumentative and rude staff on the bar. Firstly refused to offer a lady before us help to her table with her drinks or even bother to ask the other 5 staff members stood around chatting, so I had to step in and help carry them out for her. Poured the wrong drink for myself and tried to correct us that we ordered something different. What happened to hospitality? Shameful.

Well from what looked like a promising find it turned to total disappointment. Lack of service - waited over 5 minutes to be seated and there were only 8 people already seated. To staff walking past totally ignoring us. The smell of burnt fat and unclean grills filled the air but still we persevered and stayed for brunch. Different to say the least and definitely not worth the money we’d have been better served at a roadside cafe for the wait. And who knew toast came toasted one side but the untoward side was harder! Oh and not to mention did I want bread with nuts and grains. Never again so disappointed and certainly need a review of staff and their manners/customer service and maybe a clean of the kitchen filters and fans

I called the Dun Cow and used the automated call machine to make a booking. I got the confirmations as seen below, I booked for 9pm and got the confirmation at 8:30pm. We arrived at the Dun Cow at 8:53pm where we mentioned we had a booking for 9pm, the young brunette girl behind the bar said “oh I dont think anything has come through” and said “the kitchen was now closed”, which wasn’t great but that’s fine. She went to double check with her manager who was INCREDIBLY rude and went “well it hasnt come through and the kitchen is closed so…”. I understand these automated machines often don’t work but a kind “sorry it didn’t come through and our kitchen is now closed” would have been enough, she didnt ask to check our booking or anything, not even to rectify so that this mix up wouldn’t happen to future customers. We were just thrown out in an accusatory tone. Unsure what the attitude was about but it sets a tone for the service I assume you will receive. Hope you can look into your automated booking service on the phone as it obviously isn’t working right now but I am disappointed and am not interested in visiting anymore

Dear Duncow Management, I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent dining experience at your restaurant. Unfortunately, we faced several issues that affected our overall enjoyment. Firstly, the food served to us was lukewarm at best, which was quite disappointing as we were looking forward to a hot and delicious meal. Additionally, the salad we ordered was missing the dressing which not only affected its flavor but also left us unsatisfied. When the salad was brought to our table, we were informed that this had been mentioned before we placed our order, but we certainly weren't made aware of that. As a side note, the ciabatta that was meant to accompany my meal was also missing, which further detracted from my overall experience. Moreover, we were informed that there were no baked beans available for my child's meal, which was a letdown, especially since it is a standard component. We also noticed that the katsu curry item listed on your menu was unavailable when we were placing our order, and when I inquired about the chicken panang curry on your specials board, the staff was unsure whether it was an option. Finally, the wait time between our meals arriving to the table was excessively long, leaving us feeling frustrated and neglected. The delays detracted from our dining experience and made us feel as if our concerns were not adequately addressed. Given these issues, we truly felt that we did not receive value for money, especially with our bill totaling £151. We had hoped for a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, it fell short due to the slow service and various menu discrepancies. I understand that busy lunchtimes can pose challenges, but I believe it’s essential for restaurants to communicate effectively with their guests and ensure that orders are fulfilled accurately.

We had starters that were flavourless with no seasoning. 2 hours in to this ordeal our meals arrived that were dry, overcooked and again had no seasoning and pretty much inedible! Whilst the new manager deducted the food from the bill and apologised the food was disgraceful and the service very poor. I for one won’t be returning

There is great camaraderie between the staff here, everyone pulls together to make the guests experience that little more special. -------- Photos show this building has a lot of characteristic features but the many bedrooms are also very nice.... I arrived Sunday around 3.30pm. No dedicated area for check in so i waited for the extremely busy staff to serve me. The restaurant was packed full of punters & so i summised that thw food was probably decent. I was given instructions on how to find my room & duly found it. Room decor was OK but mould in the shower cubicle & the tv remote didnt work. I unpacked & went to meet friends. I returned to a lousy nights sleep as my room overlooked the traffic lights at the cross junction on the busy A45. Had i known this before I booked, i would probably have booked elsewhere. I decided to not make a fuss as my trip was already fraught enough as I had travelled to attend a funeral. I had booked a brunch breakfast at 9.30am as the website said this was served between 9 & 12 on Mondays. Not much coffee available & then all the hot drinks & juices were cleared away at 9.45. I had the full English breakfast which was pretty good & tasty though the hash browns were a bit soggy in oil. All in all not a very enjoyable experience I'm afraid.

We stayed here for one night on our way to a family reunion. Location is excellent in regards links to motorway etc. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and the pub attached was good for drinks and an evening meal at reasonable prices.

Just had 2 large fish n chips and mushy peas, £27 no problem. Turned out it was 1 large and 1 half size in soggy batter and smelled a bit , chips quite a few rotten ends too! Had to dump it in lay-by bin as it was not good . Feel like we were had over . No dinner tonight thanks Dunchurch chippy .

Decided to visit as was nearby. Was "Closed" on door but Owner/Chef spotted us and let us in for a meal on the restricted menu. The food tasted superb. Full of flavour and depth. The place is under renovation and we wish the place well.

Popped in for a quick pint on a Saturday afternoon. It was my local about 35 years ago. It still has two rooms, lounge and bar style. It modernised, but still retains it's local pub cosy charm. The bar staff were very nice and friendly. It has a big screen for sports in the lounge, with dart boards. I didn't go in the bar side. It used to have skittles, pool, jukebox etc Prices were good too. Will be back at Christmas 👍🏻
