Really great gluten free batter. Not ideal for coeliacs but I am gluten intolerant. Chips are chunky and cooked to perfection. Always a first choice when I am passing.

Ok, just been served the worst fish n chips ever. Fish was old, nearly mumyfied, and chips were an assortment of rock hard or grease soaked . Very dissapointed as have had food from there over the years , and where lovely.if I was local would have took back , was that bad. Wasted £23.00 ! Wondered why place was empty at 6pm 🤔 Under new ownership ? Won’t be returning.

2nd time using this chippy. A little expensive, but worth it. Extensive range of foods on offer. Large cod was huge! Curry sauce and mushy peas good quantity....yum! A large portion of chips was big enough for 4 of us. Fab portions, great taste. In comparison we ordered a small chips on our next visit which was VERY small, more of a child's portion not for one adult! A little disappointing.

I'm not from around here. I stopped here for food and the service and food was absolutely amazing . Thank you so much, it was a pleasure to come to you. If I am in the area again , I will make sure to come back. Many thanks.

Nice fish and chips good quality

Stopped at this chip shop yesterday afternoon for the kebab and chips lunchtime special...the chips were average and probably the worst kebab meat I've ever had...fatty, greasy and really not very nice.....used to be a good chippy

This place says they do gluten free but actually fry in the same oil as everything else. The risk of contamination is enormous and the owner doesn't sound concerned about the consequences as long as it doesn't kill you. Avoid for any food intolerances.

Cannot recommend this takeaway enough. Absolutely amazing customer service and the food is always fresh, hot and perfect. You get exactly what you pay for. Always talking to the owner and chef. New menu items coming soon as well. Will be doing fresh fried chicken which tasted better than KFC. Also doing jacket potatoes. Honestly it’s the best place around.

As a local I decided to pop in today for a portion of chips as Ive not been in for months. I have to say these were the worst chips I’ve ever had in my life and has totally put me right off. They were undercooked inside yet looked dark brown on the outside. (I would say the cooking oil hasn’t been replaced in a while as you can taste the burnt oil in your mouth) Probably caught them on a bad day but has defiantly put me off going again. Never had this before when going to Dunchurch chippy so highly disappointed ☹️

Unfortunately tonight was the worst chippy I’ve had, possibly ever. Really gone downhill since it’s changed hands. We kept trying to support in case it was just teething problems but the burnt, cold chips & brusque attitude have put the last nail in the coffin tonight - won’t be buying from here again.

Excellent. So far I've had Chips, Haddock and Mixed Kebab in Naan from here and I definitely recommend this shop! Friendly, Kind and Polite man managing the shop. Definitely knows how it's done. Cannot fault the service and food. Thumbs up from me.👍🏻 See you again soon. 😁

Great service. Staff showed me the difference in sizes for each item which was very helpful. Very large portions and very good quality. Kebab was very tasty and moist, and the fish and chips were good and not super greasy which was great. Have no complaints and in my opinion it’s the best chippy in Rugby.

First time here, but fantastic food.

Under new ownership the village fish and chip shop is really making an effort to re establish itself, plenty of choice on the menu, in addition to staple fish and chips, pie's, kebabs and burgers, some veggie options as well. Quality of food and portion size has been very good.

Wonderful welcome and service from the owner. Fish cooked to order, very generous size, extremely tasty. Will definitely go again next time I am passing through the area from the north. Well worth a visit.

Just passing through town saw chippy n stopped. Small fish n chips. Owner joked if i wasnt happy i could come back for refund. Firstly small portiin was more than adequate size. Secondly. No refund required was lovely meal. Will deff stop off nxt time in town Tyvm

The worst food by far. Fish tastles chips the same kidnie pie tastles i was started to think they are scared to use the salt but not my chicken burguer way to salti bad really bad.

Worse chips I’ve ever had Ordered chips and mushy peas for lunch. Chips dry and hard like they had been reheated or kept warm for some time. Certainly not freshly cooked

Worse chippy iv ever had I'm afraid chips were well over cooked to the point there were inedible curry sauce wernt bad that's the best I can say really if u like a decent chip avoid at all cost

Very good experience will use again

Whilst they were using new potatoes the chips were good, but now they are using old ones again they are not so good. Little and often is the best cooking way. Further review: My usual order was £4.60 last week but has gone up to £6 today. Won't be going there again chips weren't very nice either.

Really disappointed the mixed meat was Donner ( i thought it be shish )chicken didn't taste like chicken spent 36 quid and was really not worth it unfortunately

Don’t ever go here - it’s just been taken over . Looking forward to eating with my wife - fish and chips and doner in pitta bread and chips . Arrive and when I got home it was just doner meat with a handful of chips . I didn’t think you could ruin a doner but I was wrong - dry dry dry - I had to check I wasn’t eating the box it came in . Wife’s fish also awful . I called and the manager just said they are short staffed …. I think they don’t have anyone who can cook . Such a shame as the previous owners were really good . I’d advise all locals to avoid and go elsewhere for a while as these will not last long .

Best chips I've had South of the Yorkshire border!! Fish was as good as you get in the Midlands, nice thick crispy batter. Service was polite and cheerful. Front of house kept very clean. Parking around the corner if you can't Street park right outside.

Purchased a battered sausage it was inediable .the batter was awful the chips ok . Will never return.

Rearranged interior thoughtful to keep customers safe in these Covid times- so no longer queue in a straight line all together. Counter and staff are across the end and customers stand on designated footprints inside. Does mean that at busy times can be waiting outside so if raining take an umbrella! Fish and chips as good as ever, do quite a variety of food nowadays.

Not the cheapest, but not overly expensive and you get what you pay for. Always clean (not greasy) and high quality. Best kebabs around. Recently found out they deliver too, bonus!

Me and my friend use this as our starting point for an evening walk around Draycote. Twice before we've had the genetic fish & chips/batter sausage & chips. Both times have been delicious and the staff very friendly. Last night, decided to go for a change and ordered Kofta from the wall menu. I was given a choice of sauces and asked whether I wanted salad. I went with mint yoghurt and decided against the salad. Kofta was truly delicious. Freshly made to order (which we hadn't grasped at the time, so we were wondering why on earth it was taking so long) Will definitely order it again, but, maybe see if we can call ahead to order next time to alleviate the waiting time. The photo isn't the best as it was dark outside but hopefully you can gauge the portion size. HUGE! Just a word of advice, it would be useful to advise customers at the point of ordering that there is a wait on it as it's cooked to order.

No customer is ever happy with the prices of things but in this case you get good food with a good portion size....that is important. I recommend this chip shop to all who enjoy a good chippy.

Over priced, each time I go it gets more expensive, £5.05 for pie and chips

Fantastic good quality chippy, have got just about every combination and type of chip shop food you can think of, and some you havnt! "Lemon pepper fish"!? very nice change.

The fish was light and not greasy. The Kebob, both chicken and lamb were delish! I never had lamb kebob before so it was a real treat.

Our chips were stale and had obviously been kept in the warmer for ages (yet sold as fresh) one battered cod was reasonable however the other cod was grey in colour and very dry and again clearly kept in the warmer for longer than should have been. I can quite honestly say that this was the worst fish and chips that I have ever tasted. My first and last visit unfortunately. I am sure that the fish and chips would be fine if/when they are cooked and served fresh but I cannot forgive them for allowing food to be sold knowing how long it had been since being cooked

nice chicken kebab but expensive

Lovely young lady greeted me as I walked in, very friendly and chatty. Ordered a kebab, waited around 5 mins. Kebab was tasty with loads of meat and salad. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

Great food a little pricey. Fair portions. Does not sell deep fried cream eggs or elephant ears would still return.

Just moved back to the area, only popped in for a small chips, gaffer added a sausage and a scallop to save me breaking a note, was top notch! Quality food and service. Went back later for kebab and chips, great portion and great quality, all served with a smile! Couldn't rate higher, keep it up boss!! 😁 👍

Recently taken over by a gentleman whose been in the business a long time, my favourite chips in the whole of Rugby.

Waited 45 minutes for 3 kebabs, absolutely terrible service.

Polite, friendly, clean and great fish & chips

Under new management they said. I thought I would try it. TBH, the chips were really good, but that is where it ends. The woman serving behind the counter was touching cooked food with her bare hands. I almost pulled out then, I wish I had. The next day my partner who had fish and chips there was vomiting and had diarrhoea, badly. She said that the fish was repeating on her. OK, the other food, all I will say is that the doner meat they use is tasteless. I ended up throwing mine in the bin and having a sandwich instead.

The old guy serving was extremely rude, and refused to serve me and my partner, as apparently they don't do small chips,but they do do a cone, well how big is your cone?

Am a local resident.. Went in tonight at 21.00....dont do scallops can't o a small portion of anything so ordered the smallest portion of kebab meat at £3.60.... Go home to find the most overcooked and greasy shreds of meat I've ever seen.... About time they changed the management

The food is lovely. However when I phoned in the order dthe guy on the end of the phone was rude and didnt get the order correct. May as well just go in. Also they only accept cash.

When I questioned the owner if the chips were refried he got very angry and told me the potatoes at this time of year are poor and make bad chips, this may be true but why isn't my regular chip shop affected. Is it because you only buy the cheapest potatoes? Also your batter is soft like cake mix. Overall fairly poor and the owner is too arrogant to accept any criticism.
