Annaluckmi Live Restaurant in Rugby

Decided to visit as was nearby. Was "Closed" on door but Owner/Chef spotted us and let us in for a meal on the restricted menu. The food tasted superb. Full of flavour and depth. The place is under renovation and we wish the place well.

This review edited to update to May 2022. Used to be the best Indian in Rugby to dine in, when it was called Dilruba.... went there for more than thirty years..... Now changed hands and changed name to Annaluckmi Live. I've only been here once and had a delivered meal from here under new ownership and the refurbishment that's been done. The food is still excellent but the dine in restaurant experience is very different... half of the premises has now been sold so only a handful of cafe style and size tables are crammed into a much smaller space along with the bar, and the place is very bright like you'd find in a High Street chemist shop or an indoor sports hall - not a problem if you like eating in floodlit places but feels clinical rather than cosey or homely, and at odds with what to expect for a restaurant environment. The staff are very polite & friendly.

Worst meal ever. Food bland, visually unappealing and poor flavour. Chicken had clearly been sat around a while in heater as was stewed. Service not good. Amateur all round. We don't need this place in Rugby as there are allready too many better options for curry.

Recently changed management, awful food, undercooked naan breads and congealed yogurt dip. Was the same both times. Thought we would give it the benefit of the doubt the last time, as it was new owners and it used to be our favourite restaurant. It’s a shame we won’t be visiting again.

Placed an order online for collection which included a vegan dish. Once I took it home and started eating the 'vegan' dish I discovered it was in fact chicken. I was not happy having been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I called to complain and was told that they didn't have the vegan option and offered to refund the cost of the dish. I agreed but after almost 24 hours and 3 phone calls I am still waiting for the refund.

Ok meal. Service was poor. Starters plonked in front of us, main course cutlery tossed on table. It felt as though we were interrupting the waiter's sit down. Unsure whether we will he back.

We ordered a takeaway, it arrived ahead of the estimated time, the delivery guy was very friendly and the food was absolutely beautiful, and plenty of it. The nicest Indian we've had in a long time. We will definitely be ordering again. 5*****

Food is really tasty but decor, atmosphere and service need a lot of improvement. Tasty food is good starting point so do a bit more work on improving the dining experience and you will get 5* from me.

Poor food. Ordered some Fish, it was A few cubes of white Fish in a sauce of one coulor, no sign of veg, worse than curry sauce from a jar. Wasn't even hot as it started in menu. I Ate much better take aways

I had the mixed tandoori . the cubes of meat were spot on , the ckicken leg had either been picked at before hand or starved to death. The lamb was too hard to cut through, as was the kebab. But the staff were friendly and welcoming and the rest of the family seemed happy with theirs.

It's was ideal for a quick Friday night curry... Had lamb shank... Never seen that anywhere else in a curry house

Went on prime time Saturday night and ordered the option where you get 1 starter/main/rice or nan for 15 pound each. Good value for money. But that’s where the positivity sadly ends.....tandoori lamb chop has never seen a tandoori oven. It was like a boiled lamb chop with no seasoning. The 2 curry dishes (1 fish 1 lamb) tasted the same bland boring flavour with no heat at all. The best bit about the meal was the nan and if the nan bread is the best part about the meal you know they have problems. It is a shame as the ingredients were fresh and good quality. Just a shame they were put together in such a boring, tasteless way.

One of the best curry houses in Rugby. Slightly off the beaten track means it is never too crowded. Food excellent and service fantastic.

This is absolutely below a star ... the area is nice service ermm. She wasn't happy at all on that day due to some reasons. Food wasn't nice I had Guest with me that's why I was quite and didn't said anything. The price was so high. A plate of Chicken Biryaani £13.95 rip off..... No More Next Time.👎👎👎

Stayed in Rugby overnight on business. Looking for somewhere to eat but walked straight past this place at first as on nondescript street of terraced houses etc en route from the station to the town centre. Found it later via google reviews and went back - ordered one of the chefs specials which was top quality - the best curry I’ve had for ages, plus reasonably priced, nice atmosphere & friendly staff. Real hidden gem!

Ordered twice and 1st time missed items off order 2nd time went to collect half the order was missed off so had to wait another 20 mins. Won't be a third time

The quality of the food was one of the best we have tasted. That was expressed by the group of people we were entertaining. The service was warm ,quick excellent. Give it a try . You wont be dissapointed.

Oh dear, pretty much like being in someone's front room, no atmosphere, carpet from the 70's food very average. Plenty of better Indian restaurants in Rugby to go to.

Live in Rugby, this is our go to place for a ruby murry, yes they have made mistakes in the past but we keep going back, good friendly atmosphere and always good food.

Superb as usual. The only Indian restaurant and take away we us when passing through Rugby. Food always piping hot, including the take away, freshly prepared and delicious to eat. The staff always friendly, polite and helpful and the presentation of the restaurant immaculately laid out and clean. Would highly recommend to anyone that enjoys Indian food.

Sadly, I live 3 hours away. If it was closer, I'd be there regularly. Some slightly different dishes from the normal Indian restaurant. The one I had was excellent plus a superb starter. Good value. Attentive staff.

Having ordered and walked 25 minutes from canal side expecting to open an enjoyable indian takeaway once I got back to boat, then finding stale soft popadom and dry chapati it didn't start well! Felt quite disappointed indeed.maybe takeaways have a 2nd rate care,as if I was in the restaurant the popadom would be fresh and crispy if not then I would have sent it back!! Sorry chaps not an amazing meal today.

Food is good and the waiter is always incredibly friendly. Definitely would recommend to anybody in the area looking for good quality and reasonably priced Indian food. A good upgrade and alternative to an indian takeaway although they also do delivery service I believe.

As good as any other in rugby but not outstanding used to be better !!!.madras is so hot flavours are absent. Tikka isn't defined enough.indian takeaways are all fairly mediocre now. Guess they are struggling with margins.

I can honestly say it's the nicest curry I have ever had. I had the chicken tikka bhuna and special rice. It's a must try for sure.

Set meal for a works Christmas meal. I rarely eat indian food as I am not overly keen but everything we were served was absolutely delicious. Has opened my eyes a little. Perhaps I've tried the wrong places in the past. Would certainly like to come back again.

This place is ok but I found it too rushed to be pleasant almost like they just wanted your money. Meals were ok but I've had better . Also no music playing in the background!! We won't be eating here again , but its ok if you want to just eat and go.

Best indian i've had.great choice on menu and very friendly staff.

We have eaten here regularly and have never had a bad experience. The food is freshly prepared and well presented, the price reasonable. The service is polite and and unobtrusive. This must be one of the best and most authentic Indian restaurants in the area.

Best Indian Restaurant in Rugby

It was a reasonable meal, but I've had better elsewhere. The starter was a little dried out, and the main course was nothing special. I also noticed after we'd left that we were charged for food that we'd never ordered or eaten.

Excellent food will definitely be going there again when I next come to rugby the service was spot on as well

Great no nonsense restaurant, generous portions at good prices, plenty of dishes to choose from and everything we've tried has been really well cooked. Only 5 minutes from railway station.

Loved the food and service. We hadn't been for quite a while but recent thought we'd give it a go. Really pleased we did.. Really lovely quality, friendly service and not badly priced.

Have been coming to Dilruba for years, and it's always fantastic. Service is friendly, food is always hot and really tasty - very authentic Indian dining! Always would recommend to anyone looking for Indian food in Rugby - nowhere better!

This was one of the best curries for flavour, cooking and quality I've ever had. The mix of spices was perfect. I've taken photos of the menu to try my self. Well done.

I've tried a few other more local Indian Restaurants - but always regret it. I always go back here although it's in the other side of town. It's clear why this family business has been going for almost as long as I have. Good is great. Staff are genuine. Could do with modernising - but that actually adds to the charm in a way. Very Recommended ... ;)

Best Indian in Rugby for vegetarian food... absolutely love it!! :)

We ordered a takeaway and I rang them straight away advising that we didn't want the dish to hot (as we had it from there before and was super hot) and that we wanted more potato in the saag aloo as last time there was only a couple of bits. When the food arrived the food was so hot (in spice) and there were only a couple of bits of potato in the saag aloo. Also poppadoms missing dispute having to pay for them here. I rang and advised what the issues were and was told it wasn't his fault as he wrote it on the order and what did I want him to do. I said I wanted the dish again not as hot, the saag aloo with potato in and the missing poppadoms. I was sighed at and told "well it will be a while to wait" so I asked what about the rest of the food we couldn't eat as it would go cold. I was told "there is nothing I can do about that is there". On the replacement arriving I was told they wanted the dishes they were replacing back. I advised they had been put in the bin as they weren't what we wanted and i was told to get them out. Not happy with them, we have had similar issues before but enough is now enough. Very rude and unfriendly staff despite you ringing and asking!

Probably Rugby's most authentic Indian restaurant. You'll be disappointed if you're looking for plain, common currys, Dilruba offer an authentic (and hot!) taste of Asia. The interior is a little dated and the staff are quite quiet, but the food is fantastic.

The Dilruba is by far the best Indian restaurant in the Rugby area. The service is always friendly and professional, but most important is the freshness of the food. Old favourites never fail to hit the spot and there are many new items on the menu to interest the more adventurous diner. Carnivores and veggies will not be disappointed. Whenever friends visit they insist on me taking them to the Dilruba. Try it out. I'm sure you'll love it as much as we do.
