No hot water, very noisy, and too hot. So fed up, didn’t even stay for breakfast.

Spent the evening in a comfy room, it was quiet and peaceful and a all you can eat breakfast in the morning.

Lovely warm room on a night it was hurling it down with rain. I dont know if there was a leak in the roof, but I was woken at 3am by a tapping, or dripping noise in the room. Not sure if it was a leak, or the heating pipes. So I went to reception, there was no one there. There wasn't a way of letting anyone know at that time.

OK, I'm scoring this inn 2 stars only because the property is in desperate need of modernisation and soon! When I arrived, there was an issue with my booking that the lady in reception helped me with and had sorted very quickly. All the staff are great. They're polite, kind, and very helpful, but sadly, that's where the positive review ends. The rooms are like something from 1985. There was an overall musty smell, which lingered throughout my stay. The shower heavily leaked, and the pressure was extremely uneven, with the temperature going from warm to hot to cold periodically. The carpet looks like something from the Overlook Hotel in The Shining, as does the brown mahogany style wood furniture that time travelled from the 1970s. My room was right next to the reception, so therefore, I heard EVERYONE coming and going throughout my stay. So, other than the staff, this place is awful.

Gorgeous room with jacuzzi bath/shower. Only downside towel heater in bathroom did not work, which meant floor & bathroom was freezing. Great hosts lovely & friendly

I remember when it was hard to get into the Webb Ellis for Sunday lunch. The pub was always busy and full of life. Not today. The place was virtually empty at 1pm. No- one was behind the bar and we had to wait a couple of minutes for a member of staff to come out of the kitchen. This happened on subsequent visits to the bar as well. When we were served, they had no ice and not all the desserts were available. This is what turned up as a kid's Sunday roast. Eventually, after arguing the point that it said sausage(s) plural on the menu, a second veggie sausage was brought out. The gravy came in tiny jugs and when we asked for more gravy were told we would have to pay more for extra gravy. The quality of everything on our plates was poor. Very sad when you think of the plentiful, well-cooked, value for money meals you used to get at the Webb, and the atmosphere there.

Ale choice has improved greatly. Currently on London Pride + Hobgoblin Gold, both are well kept & cheapest in town👌Always a good atmosphere✔️ Hidden garden has heated area, rain & windproof👍 Very good place to meet for quiet (or not) sup, TV sports, pool table. Pizza takeaway next door does deliver to eat in pub or garden😋
