The food here is excellent, as is the friendly service. Worth popping in for a meal or a drink - you won't be disappointed.

Sunday roast was a big let down, had a better meal at Toby Carvery.

The food was delicious, especially the haggis.

Picked the bar for food based on location and previous reviews. It did not disappoint! The food was excellent and the servers attentive and polite. If there was a down side, it was the unknown, unpleasant odour on entry. As more people filled the place, the odour disappeared. Despite this, I would thoroughly recommend the Dukes Umbrella and I would return. Perhaps when it’s busy to disguise whatever the foosty odour was.

A friend and i nipped in here for a quick bite to eat. We hadnt booked a table and it was very busy. The staff were excellent and accommodated us. I'll definitely be visiting again.

A lovely restaurant but sadly very unimpressed with the food. Frankly over priced for what is put in front of you and if like me you can't eat fish you're extremely limited in choice as they put lobster or anchovies everywhere. Some of the fusions are simply ghastly. Guinness panacotta? Revolting. Such a shame as this could be a gem.

Saturday afternoon lunch was superb. The food is astoundingly good. Burger was probably one of, if not the best, I've ever eaten. My partner was very happy with his pie and mash, venison and haggis was the pie of the day. The service is fab, friendly and attentive but in no way obtrusive, we were even trusted to pour our (very nice) primitivo ourselves, which I really appreciate. Even a slight hiccup with our food order didn't flap anyone.

Overall very satisfied with the staff and service. But the food was overpriced and menu description sets expectations that are not delivered eg lobster bisque sauce with fish and chips was not apparent in the tartar sauce - nor was the rose harissa oven baked beetroot salad. It was so similar to vacuum packed beetroot a la Sainsburys that it doesn’t matter if they did do what the description said - it just wasn’t very nice.

Ate here a couple of times, was very good, bit pricey but quality, 1 star review is down to another visit just for a coffee, place appeared open as a gentleman was at the door, however upon entering wecwere very abruptly stopped, told " we don't open till 12 " and door slammed, appalling behaviour for any industry let alone hospitality.

It was ok. Had the Sunday lunch - not worth £35 for the two courses.

Little pricey, but everywhere is these days. Enjoyed our meal a lot though. Very good.

I've been here a couple times for food and drinks and the place is great. Nice cosy and romantic vibes if you just want to have a chat. Music isn't too loud, staff is lovely and the food was great.

Been here a few times, however I wasn't impressed with my most recent visit on 31/12/23 where we had a table booked for 9 people for Hogmanay. I feel it really depends on what you order, as I've had nice meals a few years ago, however more recently I wasn't impressed with the fish & chips, the spiced haggis quesadilla starter I thought was stodgy and didn't have a nice texture or flavour (now £10), and didn't find the smoked mackerel rillette pleasant when I had it. The prices are now pretty wild - fish & chips £20, burger £19.5, grilled venison £27 along with expensive starters. Also £7 for a pint of Beaver Town. In my opinion the quality doesn't fit with the high prices here and I won't be returning.

Busy bustle restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. Was here for a works night out. Dinner was preordered, with menu choices associated to name making service smooth and attentive.

Was on our way to our hotel and was looking for a place for lunch. Couldn’t have dreamt of a better place. Great food and charming atmosphere. Would highly recommend dining here for any tourists visiting Glasgow and unsure where to go.

Attended two times, without booking for early dinner and Sunday lunch. Food tasty and well presented. Sunday roast was the stand-out for me.

Visited for dinner and the bone marrow starter was absolutely divine. The cocktails were also very tasty.

Have been for evening meals before but this was my first time having the Sunday roast. It was delicious. Highly recommend and would definitely go again.

Lovely cocktails and a varied and delicious menu. Highlight for me was the laphroaig ice cream. I also thought the service was excellent and the atmosphere epitomised its nature as a well loved local boozer.

Had 50 minutes to kill before we had to be somewhere else so we popped in for a quick drink. Laughable! After being ignored at the bar for ten solid minutes whilst a barman made cocktails, I was then asked what I wanted and, very curtly, told it would be brought to me. It was a pint and a spirit - an order that would have taken around one minute to pour. After twenty minutes, still no drinks had arrived. In that time we had been approached by two members of staff who said they'd go check on our order - neither returned. Eventually I went to the bar where someone who arrived after me was having their drinks poured. When I tried to explain that we had been waiting a while and were time-limited, the barman snapped at me, telling me he was doing his best. That may have been the case but his best, very obviously, wasn't good enough. In the background to all this, was a very drunk patron who, before being removed, harassed my partner. This was witnessed by staff who, in fairness, did apologise. You would have thought they might have prioritised getting out drinks to us, given our experience but, alas, not. We left without having a drink. Not a pleasant start to our evening.

Terribles, not vry nyc Waited to get our drinks but no Jack daniels, no Jim beam....ordered what the lady said she had but after an age came back to say none of that either...left in disgust. None wonder it was so quiet 🤫

popped in to try it for drinks prior to our early dinner elsewhere...nice comfortable bar , sat at window watching the world go by! Had a look at menu and bar menu and we will definitely return to try the food ...would score it higher but only had drinks so I'm sure I,LL increase this on our return..

Great Sunday roast, the meat was cooked beautifully and served by lovely staff. Great decor, my friend kept saying “I feel like I’m in london” and also only a 2 minute walk from central station.

The best food I had on my trip to UK. So delicious smoked beef rib. Omg. It worth every penny.

This place was recommended and did not disappoint. Proper gastro pub vibe, cosy interior, tunes, good bar and drinks selection, plenty options on the two-course lunch menu and a la carte. To top it off all of the staff were friendly and attentive with good recommendations and menu knowledge. We will definitely be back 👍🏻 we tucked in and loved it before any photos were thought about.

We got olives as nibbles which were the best olives I’ve ever had. Main course was a chicken supreme which tasted great also. Our starters were prawns and bone marrow that although were presented beautifully didn’t really taste amazing. But it didn’t spoil our evening. Service great, very attentive staff, dog friendly.

Nice pub and local to our work office which is handy. Downside was that we went in as a group of ~12 and were told we were unable to be seated as we weren't having food, the place was not busy!

The Dukes was recommended by people we met at our hotel that actually dined in this restaurant. When a restaurant has great food, great service and atmosphere! THERE IS NO NEED FOR LOCAL GUIDES reviews. I’m my opinion their reviews are useless and are out of desperation to increase 5 star reviews. In my opinion if a place has more reviews by local guides etc, I stroke the off my list. In the case of The Dukes Umbrella the food service and atmosphere is top notch. We had the Buttermilk Chicken Caesar and the Charcoal Fried Hake. 5 stars. Stop using the the local guides for your reviews, you are a restaurant pub with excellent food and service. THE BEST STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING.

The average pimped up Gastro Pub, fancy prices for not such fancy food. Maybe we ordered the wrong food, possibly? Fish and chips were over cooked and Sausage & Mash was average. Fed up with the usual, new places with the dark and smouldering decor without someone checking off the food in the back. Won't be back unfortunately after hearing so much about it. This was a Friday night for dinner.

Made it into Glasgow City Centre after a long day of travel. Walked a short distance from hotel. Great traditional menu with some modern twists and deliciously prepared. Attentive staff, clean, great ambiance and music volume just right. Do not miss dessert. ,

Vom Teller meiner Freundin den leckeren Wirsing genascht. Hidden gem! Enjoyed the 2 course meals at lunchtime with a Capri Spritz. Ambience super cool pub feel and service was spot on.

Really nice modern and hip themed bar. Walking distance from central station. Away from the hustle and bustle of Glasgow City center. Barmen were really good and made us cocktails that were not on the menu.

This is a scotish restaurant exactly as i would imagine. Super good food at a fair price. Rally friendly service. All in all an amazing experience. Thank you and full recommendation!

Really beautiful place, decor was lovely and there was someone playing piano which was really nice! Was offered veggie/vegan menu on arrival which I appreciated however a number of things weren't actually available and it seemed the menu was outdated. The staff member was incredibly nice and accommodating/apologetic about it so I don't fault the service one bit but it was disappointing to find out that two desserts I asked for weren't actually available and had to get something else. Also, oddly, a number of the dishes on the veggie menu weren't listed on the full menu? Non veggies may also want to eat veggie options but maybe that's due to the main menu being more up to date. I ordered the jackfruit curry which was quite nice but I'd have preferred the jackfruit to be cut up or "pulled" as it's often served. The pieces were really large and hard to cut up smaller in the bowl it was served in. Overall, nice place I would return to. I can imagine it would be even nicer in the evening for a date. Great ambiance!

Only popped in for somewhere to stop whilst we had time to kill waiting for the last bus home. Noticed they had Weihanstephan ear Weiss on tap! Lovely, had a half each. Can't rate the food as we didn't try, atmosphere is aimed a little more upmarket than we like, but still comfortable, good music playing, interesting decor. Would return, may try their food menu sometime.

We were keen to try this spot for one of our last nights in Scotland as they had a nice looking veg menu. Food and atmosphere was very good. Although our main server was very nice and attentive, we had a couple of odd experiences that seemed to be unrelated to our main server as she didn't deliver the drinks. We received a partially full and flat bottle of ginger ale, which was replaced when pointed out and then when ordering a 1/2 pint after dinner it was completely forgotten about but added to our bill which was promptly rectified (removed from bill) but not offered again as an option...... disappointing as I still would have liked it! Also maybe we are just naive Canadian tourists but £5 for a bottle of still water seems pretty excessive! The last place we were at did not charge us for it at all... lesson learned, take the tap water! Unfortunately it all left us feeling sad and disappointed after initially looking forward to a nice dinner out. 😟

Very traditional old looking pub

Great pub only a block from the train station. I had a pot pie with beef tips and haggis, served with a side of mashed potatoes and greens that was delicious. The beer menu offered a light Beavertown IPA that paired well with the pie.

Fantastic food and drink. The pork vindaloo croquette was an absolute treat and a great alternative to a full starter. Venison was fantastic as was the neeps and tatties. The gravy and jus with each was very rich and served on top so if you are not a fan of so rich food maybe ask for it on the side. Pistachio cake to finish was delightful. Cocktails were excellent! Recommendations from servers and service was on point. Nil negative to note and prices in line with what I would expect to pay for this standard of service and food. Can't wait to return for the Sunday Roast!!

So nice I had to go twice. I love this place. Their starters, mains and even bar snacks are all really good. You can't really go wrong with what you choose, everything on the menu is good. I was particularly impressed at how authentic the fish tasted. The inside is nice and unique and although not actually small, gives a very cosy and warm feeling. Service was great from all the staff. It is on the pricier side but I would say well worth what you pay for. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

Hands down the best Caesar Salad I’ve ever eaten. Staff was super fun to be around and decor was gorgeous.
