Went for pre theatre drinks and had a great time. Very helpful and friendly staff - gave lots of recommendations of what to do and where to eat in Durham. Liked the seating. Great drink options. Bigger and more spacious than it looks from the outside. Great name for a pub!

Enjoyed the night over all however, the unprofessional behaviour from Josh the bar manager towards one of the girls we were with was appalling, he tried charging her twice after asking her for her Snapchat, she then had to pull up her bank statements and proved she’d paid, this in my eyes is unacceptable behaviour especially after he’s was more than happy to let her go before he asked the question.

Called in while waiting for a bus yesterday afternoon. I was the only customer so, in my limited time (buses wait for no-one!) I had a look around. Impressed, it has all the hallmarks as being a well-run stylish bar. Camden Pale at £5 OK as well. I can see now why my eldest lad and his pals like it here.

Physically thrown out and barred for confronting a racist. The racist was allowed to stay. Abhorrent doorstaff, who seem to support racism.

Great pub, we were drawn in by the sound of live music. Good zero alcohol range, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Quirky place which we really enjoyed. Nice people out having fun, no idiots.

If you have never been in the Drunken Duck before, the first thing that gets you is how big it is. From the narrow frontage it seems to grow and expand the further it goes back. Perhaps the other surprise is that although initial impressions are that it is a typical, traditional old pub, it is actually a very modern bar; and although I’m not a particular fan of modern bars, the Duck is designed in such a way that whereas it exudes space, there are enough nooks and crannies to provide little areas of relative coziness. There is also a separate area for a pool table and another for dancing (I assume?) and the whole design, which includes an innovative frame wall with flowerpots, is very well done indeed Good service and a good selection of beers etc. We liked it.

Had a tabled booked here as part of a girls afternoon. It’s a quirky little place and there was lots of people there and everyone was having a good time. However when my friend came back with our pornstar martini, I tasted it, and it was VILE, it was sour and awful, if it’s a mix they use it was definitely off!! All of my friends agreed, so I took mine back to the bar, and asked if I could replace it with a vodka and coke or orange, nothing too difficult. However the girl behind the bar said “it’s just a pornstar martini that’s what it’s meant to taste like, if you want another drink you’ll have to buy one”. I’m definitely not one for returning something, I hate complaining, however I just couldn’t stomach that drink, and to be refused an exchange I just think is terrible bad and rude bar service! We actually booked here because of a chocolate orange cocktail they’d advertised on their website which wasn’t even available on the day, it was only 4pm! This may be a nice pub, but it does terrible cocktails. I certainly won’t be returning, I can make a better pot star with my eyes closed.

The Drunken Duck on Claypath is a superb bar that offers a great range of drinks and was one of the many pub's and bar's which we visited on a day trip from Newcastle. A very smart bar with an impressive interior which looks very upmarket with a great bar area and excellent light fixtures and great seating options throughout the whole bars interior and a fantastic tree house terrace at the rear of the bar. We had already been to a few great pubs and bars and I must say this was a superb bar to go as there was a nice atmosphere in here. With a few locals playing pool and others just having a few ales and the staff who where immaculately dressed serving the customer's it was a nice change from some of the pubs and bars we have visited around the UK as this bar genuinely looked after there customers. When we went here we had a Birra Moretti brewery Pale ale an Italian Pale ale which was perfectly served and well priced for a bar of this quality. The Drunken Duck is one of many bars we visited and is well worth a visit and is very easy to find from Claypath Millennium Place bus stop it's a short walk. (This is my first review of the Drunken Duck). Opening Hours. Monday-Wednesday-14.00-23.00. Thursday-14.00-00.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-01.00. Sunday-12.00-23.00. Nearest Bus Stop. Claypath Millennium Place bus stop.

My twin brother Stephen and I were taking in the many fine tourist sites in Durham while at the same time visiting the superb pubs to be found in this gorgeous little town and while on our pub crawl we chances upon The Drunken Duck Pub. This is a fine looking pub,the interior is narrow, a long solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, nice wall art ,neon features, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside in their courtyard out back, its a really good little pub. We were here on a roasting hot Friday afternoon, greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the bar team, we ordered a pale ale from Camden Town Brewery, served in pristine condition, we settled down and took in the great pub we were in. My pale ale was so good ,nothing better than a well kept pale ale to cool you down on a hot afternoon, an amber ale, hoppy but not overpoweringly hoppy, there's hints of citrus to give it a kick,a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, a classic British pale ale, so refreshing on a hot afternoon,my twin brother Stephen also gave me a thumbs up to his pale ale. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here and our visit to this splendid pub before we went to the next pub. The Drunken Duck Pub is easy to locate along Claypath . Opening hours are; Monday to Wednesday, Open from 2pm. Thursday, Open from 1pm. Friday to Sunday, Open from Midday. A great pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

We went for an afternoon tea and a spa day at Raddison Blu Hotel, and as always, had been a great experience. They refurbished the restaurant, and it looks so great. The spa day was really nice, too.

At £28 per person from one of the top hotels in the North East I was expecting a lot better, 4 small finger sandwiches each, 4 scones and small cakes. Not a lot of effort and no selection of desserts
