Nice and friendly staff and lively food at a good price.

Safe, my G — meatloaf’s basically a block of minced meat mashed up with breadcrumbs, eggs, onions, herbs, spices, and whatever else man wants to fling in there. It’s mixed, shaped like a loaf (hence the name, innit), then baked like a badman’s meat brick. Usually served sliced with some gravy or ketchup on top, maybe posted up next to mash or veg. It’s that proper home-cooked, belly-filling kinda grub. Classic in the US, but you’ll see bare versions all over the world. You tryna make some or just curious, fam?

We a party of 28 for my son's 18th. They really looked after us and the service was good and all the staff were friendly.

Fantastic visit once again. New menu, went for the special of Quesadillas with mince and cheese and Cajun fries. Omg…was amazing….special shout to Marie the server, always smiling and chatting!!! 11/10!

The pup in itself was lovely the food was adequate, the staff are very friendly, we went for mothers day the meal was 2pm and we had to wait ages for our meal we were still eating our pudding at 4.20 when the next sitting was 4.30, it was very disappointing.

We booked a table for 21 people it was my mum & dad’s 50th Wedding Anniversary. The pre order process was easy and on the day all meals were delivered to the table within a 10 minute period which I thought was really good considering how many of us there were. Everyone commented on how lovely the food was. Charlie & Ashleigh were very attentive. Great place, great price we all had the best time. Would highly recommend.

We came with family for our son's birthday, we had been bowling in the morning at superbowl and was looking for some where to eat in the local area. We called to book a table to accommodate 13 of us and they managed to squeeze us in before later reservations. Food was freshly cooked and presented, not a bad meal for anyone in our party, everybody was happy and said how nice it was. We had brought our own cake and they were more than happy to bring it to the table after our meal singing with candles lit. Thankyou to Ashleigh and Charlie who were our main servers and the rest of the team for wonderful service.

Food was cold when It eventually come

Once again a brilliant, value for money 2 course meal. It is pie week so we had fisherman's pie and mince beef and onion pie. There was plenty of filling and very tasty. The service is excellent at the bar and waiting staff. Marie always has a smile for you, always helpful and makes you feel really welcome. I cannot recommend this pub enough!! Well done team.

Went for Sunday lunch. Food was OK when it finally arrived (an hour ). Won't be returning...

A family meal for four, heard rumours that it was "under new management"and was curious if it was still the best place to eat in Kimberworth. I need not worry, the atmosphere and staff remain friendly, welcoming and appear happier than in previous months, the food was delicious, highly recommend the hunters chicken toastie from the special board. The Drop is still the no1 place to go in Rotherham

I dined with a group of five friends on the 25th. Three of us ordered the half roast chicken, and unfortunately, it was incredibly dry. 😔 We brought this to the attention of the staff, but they didn't offer a replacement. I'm a bit disappointed with the experience, especially since the rest of the meal was enjoyable. Has anyone else had similar experiences? #RoastChickenFail #DiningOut

Staff are friendly, place is welcoming, food is OK. We had Sunday lunch, opted for new potatoes got 1 tiny piece of broccoli, a couple of carrot chunks and a great big spoon full of white cabbage ( I'm not Charlie bucket) would prefer cauliflower / broccoli or nice green beans! beef was tough and had lots of gristle so would try a different meat next time ( if we choose to eat here again)

Great food as usual. Tried the gammon this time with new potatoes and salad and it was a big piece of gammon. Lovely service too.

I visited with my Sister and friend. It was a Golen Oldies afternoon 2 course meal and entertainment The singer we have seen before Aaron Wild, very talented young man Lovely personality, great voice, great song choices in view of the theme being Golden Oldies. Song choices being fron the fifties to present day Aaron is a great entertainer, his confidence, voice and entertainability have grown immensely from 1st seeing him. The pub was full, every table taken Was a fabulous afternoon, food, staff entertainment was excellent, shall be back. It's becoming a regular date

We went this afternoon to see the wonderful Aaron Wild. What an amazing performer he is. He puts 100% into his performance. We've watched him grow, into the confident young man he is today. The place was packed, he should be on more often.

food not as good as it used to be, prices have sky rocketed, and they've taken popular dishes off the Now 2 for 16! not really a local anymore. Also the desserts are rubbish, microwave or defrosted.

Out on a charity run again and needed somewhere for lunch. Found The Droppingwell by chance and was very pleased we did. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Venue offered a number of table styles, from table and chairs to bench and chairs to snug type. Menu offered something for both of us at a reasonable price. Menue has starters, mains and dessert. Has pies and fish dishes. Can cope with veggies and vegans. Also offered a 2 for £16. There is a chef's special as well. Curry was first class and wife said minced beef pie was first rate. More than she could eat. Both dishes were hot, tasty and flavoursome. As a surprise find it is a real gem. We were rather tickled by the Lincolnshire Fishcakes as we are from Lincolnshire and thought it was sausages Lincolnshire was known for. The lavatories are quite fun, apparently the ladies has a number of "messages" the gentlemen's you can see one for yourself. The is adequate free parking. One to remember for the future.

Visited today with family for breakfast with Santa and I must say we had a lovely time it’s nice to see all the staff and management working together the atmosphere was great and the staff dressed in their elf outfits made it all the more special for the children. We have been for the last couple of years and I must say that this year was the best by for. The gifts and goodies the kids got and the addition of the mimosas for the adults made it a lovely morning all round and well worth the money. Keep up the good work all of you.

Went there the other night with the family and had the set Christmas Dinner the starter was fine but the main course was poor the sprouts and beans were both under cooked and hard. A couple of us had the apple pie for sweet again the apples were hard and under cooked..Very disappointing.

Went for Christmas meal with work friends 14 in total the first course all came out at the same time (prawn cocktail) and very nice it was some other's had soup also very nice and tasty, we all had Christmas dinner for main I have never had a meal that was still red hot when you received it to the table very tasty and a plate full and last of all I had Christmas pudding also red hot with the tastiest custard also hot, we wasn't rushed at all and it was very busy crackers on the table very well set out the staff very pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommend the droppingwell.

Very nice and friendly good food and a great Heineken non alcoholic on draught.They have tribute singers special nights it pays to go early to get a seat as tribute nights are extremely popular.i really do recommend this place for a great time.

Went for food and a few drinks. The pub is very warm and welcoming the staff are very friendly a lovely younge gentleman called Charlie served us he was very polite. We will return again and definitely recommend to family and friends

Gorgeous beef yourkshire pudding wrap with roasties and veg! A fine dinner for the price. I ate every bit! Will definitely visit again ☺️

when we were leaving the restaurant the girl behind the bar asked who was the birthday girl. I said me and Thankyou for calling me a girl. She then said wait a minute I have something for you. Ooo, I thought, cake. But no, it was a business type card. So I thought ooooo a voucher…..but no. She said please review us on trip advisor. Details on the card. My name is meghan!!!! So here we go… The hostelry was inviting, staff very friendly, menu ok but a bit limited for vegan/vegetarian. Prices reflect the quality and variety of food.

Usually have lunch there once a week. Yesterday 10/12/23 we had a family celebration for our Diamond Wedding Anniversary! The food was great as usual, service very good and a great welcome . Love this pub !!!👍

We had a celebration meal for a 90th birthday. Service was so smooth, 34 of us and all our meals were served together (pre ordered) and hot. The staff were great, we had a designated lead server and the team worked so well together to give us the best time. Thanks a million.

Beautiful place for a family dinner.

We called in by chance on the way home from a family visit for some lunch and drinks. What a lovely place! We felt welcome immediately and were met at the Bar by Megan, who explained that we could eat at any of the tables. She explained that if a table had a "Reserved" placard on it, we could still use it up to 15 minutes before the reserved time - what a great idea and one that we had not seen before. We enjoyed great food at a great price and were served by very motivated, friendly and knowledgeable staff. As our family visit involved our first grandson, we'll be travelling regularly to West Yorkshire and this will now be our chosen pit-stop. Well done to the Manager for running such a great establishment and obviously taking good care of your staff.

5* Never disappoints. Nice ambiance, clean and well set out. Food is always great and reasonably priced. Some good specials too. Attentive and courteous staff. Plenty of car parking.

Had a reservation midweek for 6 adults, accommodated us with no issues and were reasonable that part of the group were running 10/20 minutes late due to long-distance travel. Facilities were good and the baby changing facilities are clean and unisex. Food was better than expected for regular pub food and was both quick to be served and good value for money. Staff were friendly and more than happy to wave at the baby that spent most of the night trying to stare them down. One thing to note is that we went at about 7 on a Wednesday night and got the last parking space as the pub was completely packed.

Wish I could give more to be honest. The staff on duty couldn't do enough for us yesterday when my dad took ill outside and needed a ambulance. Huge shout out to Luke for taking my 12yr old out of the way stopping her seeing what was happening, this makes a change to them annoying each other like they normally do 🤣. "Tiny terror" says she will see you soon Luke x

After basically growing up in the pub i cant really say a bad word about it, food fantastic for price, the drink more than average the staff look busy when they need to the only criticism is that it isnt children friendly in the slightest and that really shows

Food standard. Portions not huge. Reasonable but nothing special. Kids pizza meal was a ping pizza and like rubber. Chips were nice. Dessert decent portion with lots of ice cream

Another lovely meal at Droppingwell . There were nine of us tonight . Seven adults and 3 children the food was really nice well cooked and served very nicely. A lovely meal all round.

There is plenty of parking. The pub itself is nice with lots of room between the tables. The staff were very friendly and couldn't fault the service. There is a wide menu with plenty of choice. Prices offer good value for money. The food was nice, presented well and reasonable portions.

I ordered breaded place. It was totally inedible. As though the 1mm deep fish was set on concrete. Once the casing was broken, it exposed watery, uncooked bits of fish. I sent it back....asked for some soup of the day instead. I thought this would be quick and easy to do. I LEFT IT - it was watery and tasted like nothing I've had before. Certainly nothing like brocoli .....quite disgusting. So, while some of the meals may be good, STAY AWAY FROM THE PLACE & BROCOLI SOUP

Haven't visited for over a year. We used to take my Mum for lunch. Still the same friendly atmosphere. One area was quite full with a group of ladies. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was just as good as I remember. As wide selection of good quality food at very reasonable prices. Ample parking with wheelchair/pushchair access to almost all areas. A pity we don't have the need to be in this area on a regular basis anymore but will continue to visit when we are.

Nice main course. Lovely staff. Ten desserts on the menu, and a fridge full of 'specials' but the only egg/dairy-free option was a piece of apple pie. No ice cream or custard. Very disappointing in 2024. Definitely need to catch up to most other chains.

Had a great evening with friends. Food was all delicious, staff were friendly and welcoming. Pub was spotless. Large outdoor area for when weather is better.

Booked a table for 6 for a birthday celebration. Pub was super busy but a really lovely atmosphere. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We liked the football on the screens and we had a fab table by the kitchen. Really comfy. Cool toilets with themed doors - nice and clean. Food was great. Plenty of parking. Can’t fault anything.

We’ve been to the Droppingwell many times over the last 10 years and unfortunately last night was the worst food we’ve ever had there. Although the food arrived piping hot (almost too hot), the taste was not good. My boyfriend had a mixed grill. Most of the meat on the plate was dry and he needed ketchup to make the meat edible and add some moisture. I had the chicken trio burger. The coated chicken pieces were really nice but it was let down by the plain chicken which was again dry. The chips are tasteless. To be honest we’ve had better quality meals in Wetherspoons which is known for being a cheap eat. My boyfriend said this was the worst mixed grill he’s had in a long time. He does have his steak well done but this one was beyond well done. Apple pie was good. The chocolate fondant is not a chocolate fondant, there was no liquid, gooey centre. It was basically a chocolate sponge. I was also disappointed they’d run out of the Bailey’s & toffee cheesecake when it’s a main menu item. When you have The Barley and The Mill Dam near by taking the time to cook food fresh and doing home cooked chips, The Droppingwell falls really short. I’d rather wait longer for a good quality meal. There is no comparison against the other pubs in the local area and we probably won’t eat here again which is really disappointing. Staff, service, and the atmosphere were brilliant. The Taylor Swift/Katy Perry tribute was amazing. I would happily go back for a drink and the entertainment but not for the food.

Terrible experience for my birthday meal We firstly purchased drinks starters and main course thinking we'd stay for the full experience Unfortunately not The food was awful had to be sent back Came back just as awful So litteraly left it intact as the waitress Was less than helpful or concerned enough to help To the fact I even went and told her we were leaving and that my meal was still on the plate intact apart from 2 small bites She just smiled What on earth a kind of response that was is beyond me Add to the fact we were sat in the most uninviting area ever behind a huge block wall on a tiny table wedged against another wooden partition In a very empty restaurant So disappointed to say the very least Such a shame as this did use to be the place to go Patrons will only accept so much before they start to go to a different place When receiving this lack of welcome and food experience

Hi my experience with the Dropping well is staff friendly and polite, food not so good for me but this is my opinion, food is cooked OK but low quality food, I always say that you get what you pay for, that's why it's cheap but cheap isn't always the best, my opinion.

I have no recollection of giving the one-star recommendation. The "Dropping Well" has always provided us with excellent service and delicious food. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a five-star experience.

Lovely pub went in for early tea Lovely clean and modern will visit again, they also do entertainment at certain times of the month looked like a good night out.

A very popular local pub. On entering the pub has a welcoming feel, it's very clean and fresh. The bar staff are friendly and efficient. There was a good selection of beers and Lagers. I had a few cracking pints of Farmers Blonde. I really must return here and have a meal. They have live tribute bands and acts for all ages and tastes and even some that might appeal to the wrinkles.

All the ladies seem lovely but there's 1 fat guy that needs sacking iv known 3 people have to put up with him being rude and very inconsiderate. Everything would go up a star if he wasn't a prick good look at Christmas time hope all the other staff members are well
