*Edit: the food was eventually delivered with an apology a little over 2 hours late. Food was good, but won't be ordering again. The 4.0 rating is misleading. I've been ordering from them for over a year, but they've missed the mark twice within a month... First instance, I ordered online for delivery amd five minutes later got a call that kinda-almost said my order wasn't ordered... which made no sense, so I asked if she was trying to say it didn't go through. She then asked if I wanted to cancel. I said no, then she informed me my order would arrive in 10 minutes. It did, but the next day I got another call from her saying the payment didn't go through. (Come to find out she had not ran the audit that evening, but I fell for it.) So I apologized and assured her I would bring money... I called my bank ahead of time, they said the payment was still pending and that I didn't owe her money.. but I could bring her cash if she printed a receipt, so I could file fraud if she didn't take the original charge off. Easy enough, so I took cash and she said she couldn't print a receipt for a cash order...... so, I couldn't prove to my bank that she basically got 2X payments for food. I chalked it up as a misunderstanding and tried ordering again 2 weeks later on Saturday. It has so far been 2 hours and there is no delivery to be seen. I should call Dragon House to deal with this, but I'm about ready to just order elsewhere and wait until tomorrow to file a dispute as dealing with them is a headache.

Absolutely disgusting didn’t even eat it asked them to collect and they wouldn’t give a refund chucked it in the bin

Really disappointed ☹️ Sweet & sour not recommended, squid hard no chance to take a bite ☹️ We always ordered sweet and sour and was lovely, carrot and pineapples in sauce and now 🫣 look for pictures ☹️ £31 and food in bin 🚮

The worst experience ever not the same as usual sous from shop,not the same prawns absolutely disgusting I had to throw away

Been using dragon house for 10+ years and it’s just got worse and worse. Delivery is awful. Food ordered 2 hours before to call and be told it’s on its way to then call again and told ticket hasn’t been printed or started yet. Phone passed around to several people non of which know what they are doing. Awful customer service, such a shame because when food does eventually arrive it’s quite nice. Just don’t want to eat it as past point of hungry now!

Ordered 19 30. No order by 20 15.Rang up with phone eventually answered. After having to spell my name out many times which i did, to be told is that NIGEL... no far from it. I was then told the driver is on the way there as we spoke. 50 minutes later still not here. Drove down there to be constantly asked if my name is sharon. Finally got food at 21 20.... got home to no rice and cold! 😫😫

Ordered over 3hrs ago still not had the food even though I have rung several times was lied to saying was on way that was a hr ago this place has gone down hill the second time now no food we will use else where in future such a shame this used to be really good

No one even answers the phone… tried ringing for half hour and no answer, not the first time either

Ordered for delivery…over an hour later I called and was told for me to pick up it up instead they haven’t even made my food. I asked why they didn’t call me sooner. I had to call to find out my food isn’t coming and the lady said it’s not her fault she just takes the orders…wow, what a joke…no customer service whatsoever. Never order from this place ever! I just canceled my order fully, they better give my money back.

Ordered food from here for abput 5 years with no problem always been good, but had food from there a few days ago and not felt right since.( really bad stomach cramps and nausea) So will not order from there again.Very dissapointed!

I used to use this place regularly and loved it. I was passing and decided to treat myself. What a disappointment. I had three dishes and none were good and ended up in the bin. A waste of £20 and will certainly think before returning.

The worst chow mien. I’ve ever had. No taste, dry. No sauce at all. Or flavour. the only reason it has colour and some flavour is cos I had to add some soya sauce!! Even the phone experience was terrible it was like calling a random person than a takeaway. the guy didn’t even say anything.. it couldn’t have been awkward. Rather than a welcoming experience more like confused and hello? who’s this? Rather than hello dragon house . I called to try to get a refund and was told they don’t do that but I can get store credit why would I want that if the food is horrible.

Just had crispy sweet chilli chicken and its nothing like I used to have 👎 Soggy not crispy and sauce is runny blaaahhh Won't be going back again and I do not recommend 😐

I ordered for the first time and for me it wasn’t good. The sweet and sour king prawn balls were fried so hard it cut both the top and bottom of my mouth. The king prawn foo yang was just scrambled eggs with prawns with some kind of liquid in it. I was pretty disappointed. It was delivered fast and still hot so I thought that was cool.

FRAUD! Parents ordered a meal here as they usually do, realised couple days later they had been charged £70 for a meal which should have been £13, manager refused to refund as apparently problem with their tills that night! ABSOLUTE SCAMMERS! used to be good before ownership changed!

Twice we placed an order for delivery and both times were more than an hour after estimated delivery times. Both times they claimed the system was down and they received our order late. They did offer a discount on the next order, but there just won't be a next order.

Very friendly staff, and they make great food. I have never had a bad meal in the 7+ years that I have been going. It can get busy though.

Ordered online, 1hr30mins passed, still no food. Called them and they didnt recieve my order (find this hard to believe as i had an email confirmation of my order and the staff sounded very panicky). Has to reorder on the phone with her. She took delivery charge off. I ordered my food 5.15pm it arrive 7.15pm. If i hadnt called id have just sat there waiting. Never ordering from here again!

Ordered on Wednesday night The food turned up an hour late. Will not be ordering again as by Thursday, I was very poorly.

Placed an order at 5.20pm - at 7.20pm, after several phone calls telling us our order was out for deliver; my husband went to the takeaway. They hadn’t even started to cook!! Ours was going to be a celebration meal. My husband got a refund and we had to go elsewhere, needless to say we won’t be using them again. We had been using them for 30 years before- not now!! Very poor indeed.

Food ordered at 17:45 (45 minutes after they opened) and it is now 19:47 and food is still not here. Called them and was told they are very busy. Not acceptable for an order placed not long after opening time.

Placed an order at 6pm, estimated to be here at 7.12pm. Waited till 7.30pm before we started contact site, we called 16 times for 25 minutes before getting through when we got told they were really busy and had not even started cooking our food yet... Told them to cancel the order, won't be going back If you are too busy with orders and can't fulfill them, then I recommend you turn off online ordering/phone orders Not just leave people without food who have already paid.

I have been to this place for over 25 years. twenty five. It has, over the past few years changed hands in terms of ownership and customer service has gone down hill, I called this evening sept 2022 and just rude responses, what you get in terms of ordered versus delivered are two different things, if you order from the website you get something totally different than ordering over the phone, total disconnect. It is a real shame, was a very decent place to order from

1st time using The Dragon House & NEVER again. I do not know where to begin £40.90 for the worse food I have ever experienced.

The Chinese we preferred in mildenhall!! My husband and I love spicy food and often alter up our dishes with that request. You get 2 types of places when it comes to making the dish spicier.... one, they just add chilli flakes or fresh chillies at the end. So the dish doesn't feel like spicier, it's only spicier when you bite into those chillies...... and two, they actually COOK it spicier so it's spicier every bite. And dragon house is the latter! I don't know what they do to it, but I can assure you it's yummmmmmm. It is somewhat catered for Americans due to the area, but double check before you order because we did find a few "american" dishes only had the name, but not the taste that the typical Americans would be going for. Otherwise, everything else we normally order from the menu is just lush haha. Will follow up with pictures the next time we have it.q

Being from the states I am not used to the difference of the menus. I went is asking for an egg roll and learned here they have spring rolls. Wow! What a great taste and price. I am missing the Pepper steak with pork fried rice I normally eat but the spring rolls are hitting the spot!

As I have a young daughter, all our takeaway on weekend is only places that deliver. Once again, our drink was left out. So annoying as I was in sainsbury earlier that day. Food is nice and decent. My only advice is to check your order before driver leaves. We wasn't offered an apology or refund. This has happened twice. Imagine if this happened on every order, they're pocketing in. It's disappointing as it seems so silly and easy corrected. We always spent min of £20 each time too. Sadly won't be getting a delivery again.

China House was closed so unfortunately chose Dragon House as a substitute. Complete disappointment. Not enjoyable in the slightest and will definitely not be back.

I spent about £36 on our meal tonight and was very disappointed… the low mien was absolutely tasteless, the fried dumplings were over cooked and has like a teaspoon of sauce, the appetizer sampler was dry and so small for £7, the prawn fried rice was just white rice and shrimp with a few carrots, the ribs barely had meat on them… overall pretty disappointed…

Just had dragon house. It was good.

Tried for the first time via delivery , which was fast, however the chow mein comes with a weird sauce on the noodles and just loads of slabs of meat laid on top of it. I mean 2-3 inch pieces. I've eaten Chinese from a lot of places and this was the strangest tasting and looking one I've had. Suggest the owners order from Wong's or sunrise and try and align their food with what's around them. Picture attached is supposed to be a roast pork chow mein. No pink around the pork and the noodles were like plain but with some sort of liquid on them, odd

Pretty good food. We've had take away here rice and the food was really good the first time with a decrease in quality the second time. The beef was chewy and the egg fried rice had no egg the second time - letdown.

chips were like yesterday's reheated, plain chow mein stodgy and tasteless, chilli beef was pure batter, omelette barely edible. The only decent thing was the beansprouts Cant see the current owners lasting with this. Binned the whole thing.

Chow mein bland and tasteless, lemon chicken tasted like dish water, bbq sauce wasn’t even bbq and was lumpy on top, chips dry. The only good thing was the sweet and sour chicken and the fortune cookies

Really disappointed, used to be the best! Ordered online to pay cash on door, waited 1h40m then charged an extra £5 than was told on online! Felt so terrible for the delivery driver who must have been getting all the slack from others who ordered in the same night. Definitely won’t be ordering from there again!

Food was very nice & as ordered. Website rubbish & I gave up trying to log in as I was unable to reset password, also no way I could find to contact the web masters to get my account sorted out so placed order by phone (eventually). The man who took order was very business like with no small talk which is sort of ok as he probably very busy as a Friday but attitude doesn’t cultivate customer loyalty as previous owner (David) did. Delivery ordered for 18:30 to 19:00 but turned up 19:40 although delivery driver did call me to say running late which in it self was good service. Just to warn you, going by my own past order experience & other reviews don’t expect your order to arrive on time. I hope the owner reads this post & sorts out the website & the accuracy of his delivery promises as I’m sure he is loosing sales & repeat customers. Apart from this we enjoyed the meal.

I don’t understand the reviews lately. We have had takeaway from here for nearly 30 years, and even though it has new owners we find the food to be just as good as it’s always been. Really enjoyed my meal tonight...Thank you!

had a meal from Dragon House last night and OMG it was so tasteful. The best chinese takeaway i have ever had. each dish was a taste sensation. highly recommend. Top quality

Ordered on the website and it said will be here at 7:15pm but when I rang up was told it would be an hour later then stated so never order on website all details are wrong usually no problem but this is first time I had problem but food is always good

Since dave left this place has gone down hill so badly. Someone said oh its improved, how wrong they were, unfriendly staff and shambolic food. Flavourless, stodgy goo thats the beat I can give.

Great Chinese restaurant. Eat in or take out, delicious crispy duck, prawn toast to die for, lemon chicken is fabulous, Szechuan prawns and chilli beef are fantastic, beef with black pepper yum.

We ordered a few different items off the menu all were horrible. Kung po chicken and general tsao chicken, both tasted like gravy poured over boiled chicken. Then prawn fried rice.. which was white rice with egg and shrimp. It was so bland and not fried rice at all. I took one bit of everything and just threw the food away. It was the worst food I have ever ordered.

The food was very good! The cooks are from Hong Kong. If you have a chance to have Jo as you weightier embrace his heckling.

Visit Mildenhall approx 3 times a year. Used to eat elsewhere, but have now found The Dragon House. Food and staff are excellent. Will use it on future visits

Their General Tso's chicken is easily the worst I've had. I've been there before and I feel like I must have gotten another dish because I don't remember it being this bad. The taste was completely off and the chicken itself tasted as if it might have been over cooked. I write this begrudgingly, but this had to be documented. Perhaps they've changed the recipe. I'm not sure, but just go without.

We love ordering takeaway from the dragon house. It’s usually on time and nice and hot. Every once in a while, the food is not great - almost a little stale. I understand that it is now under new ownership. I noticed a change in some of the recipes but it’s still tasty. Overall, the dragon house can be counted on for a good meal.

Great food and good delivery times - would recommend

I’ve ranted and raved how wonderful this Chinese is since early 1990s, sadly I now don’t have a Chinese takeaway to use. Food today was dry and tasteless. We always order more to have the next day, we didn’t clear our plates today so definitely not interested in second helpings tomorrow, total waste of money.

Bought a 4 item take away this evening. After opening and tasting binned the whole lot. Fatty, tasteless luke warm, The duck dish was mainly duck fat. The beef dish was tough and under cooked, the special fried rice was very poor quality. Never again !

Absolutely amazing! The portions are always more than adequate, amazing delivery times 99% of the time, friendly staff and beautiful food. Best place in town!

I've been visiting and eating at the Dragon House in Mildenhall for so long I can't remember when I first went there, got to know the previous owner David really well very nice guy,anyway myself and my wife ordered a beef and a prawn curry this evening delivered very quickly I have to say,we've had a couple of meals since the new people have taken over, and ,I have to say it has been going downhillbut this evening we ordered a beef and a prawn curry and it was absolutely disgusting the only flavour was red hot curry that burn your mouth couldn't taste the beef the only use the character anything it just burning hot,to me that's the last straw I would never ever use the Dragon House in Mildenhall again,the quality of the food is dropped so much it's ridiculous,Mildenhall is a very small town with a lot of eating places, giving people a good variety of food,putting out rubbish food and getting complaints they will soon be out of business, and to be totally honest with you with the quality of the food this evening that would be a good thing,please don't think for one minute I've written this review to get free meals on my money back this is an honest review on the food that was delivered to us this eveningI really feel that if the Dragon House keeps

Easily the best Chinese in Mildenhall with great food and service.

Since we moved into Beck Row last summer we have been getting all our Chinese takeaways from here and have been really happy with the quality and value for money.

Back again, best Chinese food in the area...

Having been to the dragon house many times before with excellent food and superb service by Joe. This time it felt different. Food was incredible as always but the service had dropped significantly. Our waiter/server was really rude and surly, which was the polar opposite to our usual experience. The waitress was nice and polite but the waiter, whose name we never did find out, was awful. Hopefully next time Joe will be back or someone with better manners is serving. Such a shame for a usually fantastic meal out.

Came here with my family for a meal. Pre-booking was really easy. Food looked and tasted absolutely incredible. Was probably one of the best Chinese’s I have had! Service by Joe was brilliant. Will definitely be coming back!!!

Four of us called here after originally going to Wongs but Wongs only accept cash so called here instead. Waitress was really nice in taking our orders and starters and mains were good and Dave the owner/manager was sound with us ordering another round of drinks even though it was past closing time. Reasonably priced food and drinks.

As soon as I walked in I was greeted by the manager who was also my server - a very friendly gent who then took my order for crispy roast duck and boiled rice. The food and decor was sexy and I will be going back very soon.

I’ve just had my first takeaway from The Dragon House. Without doubt the best I have ever had. This place is a hidden gem and I cannot recommendation them highly enough.

Take away chicken curry far too much onion not very spicy !! Is there a new chef ? however the sweet and sour chicken were good .RIce with curry is minimal and a bit sticky.

Everyone said it’s the best in area, hate to see what the rest are like, the food was perfectly fine but no better than that, nothing overly spectacular but very nice
