Full of character, very quaint & quirky & maybe needs a little updating here and there but clean & comfortable so a very enjoyable stay, hosts very welcoming & friendly, beware of glass front door my husband walked straight into it!.Some rooms could perhaps be noisy as beside main road.

Bien equipado, encantadora casa. Habitaciones espaciosas y confortables.

We popped in here on an afternoon for a drink with a view of looking at the menu to potential eat there later that evening whilst stopping at Cedar House. When ordering at the bar I asked what local ale's they had and was informed they had Tetleys on draught and a number of locally bottled ales. So far so good. I asked for one of the local beers and noticed four bottles of ale on the side. The barman checked the fridge and informed me that he had none chilled and did I want one of the bottles at room temperature (which left me sarcastically thinking "No its OK why don't you stick it in the microwave") We returned later that evening and was told this time that they had nothing bottled. Considering this pub is situated in an area producing good local Ale's they were not advertising any. If you cant stick bottles in the fridge for customers then what hope is there.

not a lot to say but we have eaten here a few times in the past but our meal was terrible and the staff who i think was the owner seemed very uninterested.

We had been here several times before but it has gone downhill. The "diningroom" is now a lean-to at the back of the bar rather than the characterful room with the inglenook fireplace which appears to have been purloined for overnight guests. When we went on the 13th August we were told that there was "no ice left" to go with the gin and tonic, "real ale" was available only by the bottle and we were "waited" on by the bar man. The menu was limited, the food served (steak) was good but the ambience now totally gone.

We pulled over here on the way to Butlins as our son who is 8 today needed to go to toilet. The signs say its open to non residents. My husband asked politely to use the toilet for our son, a man closed the toilet door and said no! You state you provide good customer service as a national judge myself of customer experience and customer service (believe me I have judged over 1000 organisations over the last 10 years!) you should be ashamed of yourselves! An 8 yr old boy needed to use the toilet. I would highly recommend not using this hotel as their approach and attitude is clearly not kind, helpful or willing!

We were recommended to try this restuarant, but found it very disappointing. The food was expensive and not good. We would not go again unless we heard they had made changes.

We stayed at the hotel recently for a birthday week away and had a great time in wisteria cottage (well recommended) and decided to try some other local pubs for food rather than eat in, if nothing else than for a change of scenery. How wrong could we be. So many of the pubs nearby just didn't cut it when it came to the food.. Standard pub grub at restaurant prices. So we booked to eat in and it was the best food of the trip. All three courses were delicious and went away full and without having spent any more money than we paid the previous nights. Only complaint is that the restaurant lacks any atmosphere. Could do with candles and slightly louder music. Otherwise great. Would highly recommend to anyone in the minehead out dunster area.

Had to book table early as resto only takes orders til 2030hrs.The food was well presented and there was sufficient choice for most palates. One dish slightly overcooked but still very tasty. Meal complimented with good house wine - inexpensive! As the area tends to cater for the less adventurous, this is a great find

Never any complaints with the Dragon House Hotel food, they source from local suppliers and have an interesting menu with lots of variety. Cooked breakfasts are really worth staying the night for

Had a wonderful meal and received excellent service. We didn't book a table and none were available when we arrived. We ordered some drinks and were led into a very comfortable lounge. An extra chair was brought over to us and we ( family of 4 ) were able to sit in comfort around the fireplace while we waited for a table. We were given restaurant and bar menus and our order was taken ( 2 meals from each menu ). After about 20 minutes we were led through to the small restaurant area. The food was excellent. I had the duck which was cooked to perfection. My wife and son had battered fish and my daughter had the steak. Four very happy customers left The Dragon House looking forward to the next time we visit this area, when this place will be the top of our list to visit again.

We used to live in Billbrook so you were our nearest pub - since moving we haven't been back in a while but must make the effort. Always friendly staff and great food.

Two of us had Sunday dinner there and it was fabulous! I had Bream, with Tagliatelle on a bed of smoked salmon and I am still wanting more. The traditional roast dinner my partner had was superb with root vegetables including baby turnip. The setting is pretty and close to many Exmoor places of great beauty. I live locally so have eaten at many local restaurants and consider this consistently the best. Very good value too as although it is more expensive than some other local hotels and restaurants it is definitely worth every penny. Cosy little bar too, and it was warm and very comfortable.

Not tried the 9 rooms but the overall hotel impression was very good. The restaurant however was excellent not too big nice atmosphere and great food. The steak was perefectly cooked in several ways for various tastes. Service was efficient and very charming. Book in advance to avoid disappointment or clash with larger parties there at the sdame time as you.

Visited for supper on Jubilee Sunday evening, having failed to get a booking anywhere in Dunster on short notice. Very pleasantly surprised by quality of food which was delicious. Especially recommend vegetarian butternut squash ravioli which was full of flavour . Restaurant was quiet with only the landlord serving but service was prompt & courteous .

My wife and I recently made our first visit to The Dragon House and were encouraged by the evening menu to take our evening meal at the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our meal was most definitely prepared by an experienced and very competent chef. Although obviously very busy for early season, service was quite prompt and politely delivered. The hotel / restaurant has an excellent old fashioned feel but is clean and tidy which we think should put it's patrons at ease. Having previously struggled to locate good quality dining in this area and now having experienced The Dragon House, we are amazed to find that it has such a modest local ranking???Perhaps local rankings have become distorted by very occasional and inexperienced Butlins visitors (yes we may now be snobs but we come from humble origins!)?To further reassure potential customers of this establishment we can indicate that we will probably stay at the hotel and definitely dine here again.

On a quiet evening, the service was friendly and swift. There were two menus to choose from - the bar menu, with items such as fish and chips, ham, egg and chips etc., or the restaurant menu; we chose the latter. There are three eating areas - the conservatory (best in Summer), the restaurant and a cosy small dining room, which we chose. There was a gas 'log' fire, so it was warm. Ther were about five choices per course. I had the tagliatelli with a taleggio cream sauce, pesto and tomato chutney. The portion looked a little on the small size, but the flavour was so extraordinary rich and complex, that more would have been too much. Friends had the ballotine of chicken in a madeira and wild mushroom sauce on spinach - that too was flavoursome and delicious. For dessert, I had white chocolate ganache with a raspeberry coulis - it was incredible! So tasty and rich. Bailey's cheesecake with ginger ice-cream was also appreciated. The total per head, with a bottle of wine and a tip was £25.00, which I thought was excellent value for money considering the quality of the food.

We had stayed at the Dragon House previously, so returned for an evening meal whilst staying nearby. The bar service was poor and the food overpriced. The dining area lacked atmosphere and it wasn't a pleasing experience.

We booked to have lunch here with an elderly relative - thoroughly enjoyable; then having been severely let down by a B&B in Minehead rang to ask if they had a room for the night. They couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating and we stayed in a superb room with a very yummy breakfast the next morning. Only problem was the very noisy plumbing in our room which sounded like a road drill when the cold tap was opened!! Would definitely come back...

We have been to the Dragon House in Billbrook a few times, and never have had a bad meal yet. They do deliceous local produced food at very reasonable prices. You can choose from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Both are beautiful and not much different in price. All three courses are beautiful and the restaurant is comfy and the service is very good. It is well worth a trip from Minehead.
