Lovely food, very busy day and took a while for our drinks to be delivered to the table. Pub could use some better air conditioning as it was very stuffy.

I ordered Sunday roast shoulder lamb, and it was so delicious that I ordered another beef. Among the side dishes, broccoli was delicious and the soup was also delicious. It is located where the Thames River becomes thinner, so it is a great place to see various birds and beautiful sunsets! Additionally, I was very grateful to the friendly staff. thank you! A corner full of history and charm The Dove is not just a pub, it is an immersion in the living history of London. Sitting by the fire or on the terrace by the river is like traveling back in time. This tavern has stood since the 17th century and has seen legendary figures such as the poet James Thomson, who wrote part of "Rule Britannia" here, and King Charles II, who dined with his lover Nell Gwynne. It even appears in the novel "The Water Gypsies" by AP Herbert, under the amusing pseudonym "The Pigeons." Beyond its historical legacy, the atmosphere is warm and authentic, perfect for enjoying a pint and good food. A classic English pub well worth a visit.

My sister had booked The Dove for Sunday luncheon. I ordered the roast beef and my sister just had the vegetables that came with the roast. The service was both fast and friendly. The beef was cooked just right, as were the roast potatoes. I could have done with a bit more cheese sauce on the Cauliflower, but that was my sole complaint. I had a nice glass of the Chile house red. Will be back soon at The Dove.

I originally chose the Dove due to the good reviews and location. I was looking for something tucked away that did not feel "touristy" - and the Dove seemed to fit the bill. When we arrived, the pub was a little under half full. Stuart greeted us and provided a choice of seats. His service was prompt and he made our visit quite enjoyable. My wife and I both had several beers from the hand pump taps, which were excellent. We started our meal with the cheese plate, which had a good selection of cheeses and was an excellent starter. For dinner I had the South coast rump of lamb, which was cooked to perfection. MY wife had the beef cottage pie which she thoroughly enjoyed as well. Overall, I recommend the Dove without hesitation. I will probably be back when we visit again next year.

I went to the Pub on Sunday the 2nd of March, lucky to have a table for 3 people, the service was good but the food was not, two of my friends had Sunday roast with chicken that was white and tasteless, the cabbage boiled in water and the cauliflower overcooked. It looked like a Hospital Sunday roast for their patients. The dish looked microwave. What a disappointment and expensive I live locally and was chocked to the standard. Yesterday went to the Rutland Arms, what a difference!!!

They have purchased a table and stools from IKEA to pack a few more people in. Hides the fireplace but that added character and the Dove doesn’t do character anymore. Some Irish guy behind the bar thinks he is ‘God’s gift’ but he has room temperature IQ. It gets busy with tourists, never locals. They are all in the better pubs that surround this one.

The Dove is a beautiful little venue on the river. Unfortunately the staff are over it.. Probably worn down by all the entitled privileged people who come in and bark at them. We are not those people but the staff didn't notice or care. The passive aggressive, silent resentment oozing from their pores is too obvious. Pint of ale my husband ordered wasn’t drinkable and cloudy. How often are lines cleaned? Nothing was asked when they cleared the half drunk pint glass as to why? Not bothered. Starter of katsu aubergine really nice. Sadly, the halibut- priced at £36 pretty flavourless and overcooked. The risotto didn’t have any flavour to it and was undercooked and not creamy as you would wish.Took an age for them to clear our starters. Clearly they don’t care- don’t blame them - probably aren’t paid very well or incentivised but still it’s a shame. I had to walk up to the bar to order our desserts as we were forgotten about again. Poor service and average food. Wouldn’t mind if this was a wee local out in the country but they profess to be something special and sadly at £100 a head lunch- they really weren’t.

Staff were lovely and friendly. Lovely inside and great atmosphere. Starters good - camembert and octopus. Mains were very underwhelming which is a shame as we had been looking forward to a delicious lunch! We ordered a crab and mussle linguine. Mussles were rubbery like they had been microwaved and the crab was only in the sauce (so no actual crab meat). This arrived much later than all other meals, and tasted dry. Not a very tasty meal. The pies were very light on meat and pretty tastless. Would not return for food. But would for drinks and nibbles.

Another "pub" that doesn't want to be a pub, but wants to be a restaurant. Popped in here during a walk along the Thames path, and expected to be able to (as I have done several times before) chose a table outside (as it was a nice day), then go up to the bar and order some food. Only to be informed by a staff member when I queried it (I got asked if I had a reservation when I entered, which I thought was odd, and the tables were laid out like it was a restuarant) the whole place is now table service only, which I hate. I swiftly left and headed back to the Rutland Arms, which is a pub which is still a pub. What a shame as it used to be a nice pub......when it was actually a pub. No wonder the place was empty.

Three of us visited The Dove one Monday evening, in September. It was warm and sunny, and we were not expecting to sit on the terrace as this is an incredibly popular pub. I would highly recommend pre-booking as it gets extremely busy. The Dove has different seating levels. The entrance - via a narrow walkway - incorporates the bar and a cosy seating area. Climb a few steps to lead into the main restaurant. Continue into the enclosed conservatory and then onto the 2 outside terraces one above the other, that have fabulous views over the River Thames, Hammersmith Bridge, etc. The staff are friendly and welcoming, providing an excellent service. Dogs on leads are permitted. There's limited street parking nearby, but most visitors walk. We had a range of drinks, 1 starter, 3 mains including seafood linguine, plaice and spatchcock chicken, plus 2 desserts. The total was £141. The food was hot and delicious. My only criticism would be that the ladies loo should have a decency blind to cover the 'frosted' window to minimise embarrassment! It was a great place to visit.

The best pub on the Thames. Very beautiful, authentic, and great friendly service

Lovely pub on the river. Outdoor area is a little tight for space but overall great. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Sunday roast was spot on.

I go in here pretty regularly. Service is patchy if not sometimes rude. Under poured pints have started happening regularly. The food is extortionate with pretty small portions, though always very tasty. Booze very expensive, too (£11 for a large glass of wine). Little things like “forgetting” to call last orders (against the law and was also a blatant lie) so, a fun night, with friends I hadn’t seen for ages, that would have otherwise been excellent and totally fulfilled was cut short. I would never stay past closing, I hasten to add, but I would stay till closing. Just a general disregard for customers, and a complacency about their position in the market has led to an increasingly unpleasant experience. As such, I won’t be back.

Typical high quality London chic. Excellent food not much nod to allergens though for dairy and pulse free. Knowledgeable about wines with an expectation that people will take time to enjoy the meal. A very pleasant experience.

Really like this place for a few drinks, it's very cosy, has a real open fire and it's great to have a few pints or a glass of wine, however i wasn't blown away by the menu and actual food.
