Saturday 16th April 2022 I visited thistotaaly ace real ale pub in Ipswich This pub had 10 great real ales on hand pump on my visit the pub was a place of ease to drink in good local proprioters the Landlord was fanrastically helpfull and really nice rooms to drink good ales in a essential visit when in Ipswich to drink good real ales in Friday 15th November 2024 Tonight, I again came in for a drink This is a magnificent real ale pub. The pub is well run with great real ale drinkers great staff This pub has a fove brewery next to it, and it has a dove brewed ale on, which is not just cheap but tastes bloody grand tasting I will still say when in Ipswich this pub is an essential visit yo drink in for real ale drinkers

Really enjoyable pub, the sort of place where the landlady will come and say hi and get to know patrons. Great range of bevarages, craft options, local options, options from all over the world. Love the atmosphere, probably my favourite pub at the moment!

Cracking pub, great real ale and fantastic pork scratchings. Well worth the 40 minute walk from watching football at Ipswich Wanderers. Very friendly bar staff and customers.

Just popped in on the way back tomout hotel and found this amazingly friendly place. Bar staff and landlady were very attentive. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food. Definitely worth a visit if you're passing.

Although it may not be located in everyones favourite road in Ipswich, The Dove is a very safe environment and manage to keep their clientele to non trouble making peaceful folk (in fact no riff raff even try to use it). I have been using this pub for 10 years nearly and have never seen so much as even the smallest of disagreements. One of my favourite places to stop by for a few pints whenever I am in town. Management and staff all use the place socially themselves unlike many pubs/restaurant etc. Food is efficiently prepared by their capable staff. This is a decent and very clean and well run establishment that is actually a bit of a gem for Ipswich. Has different areas for people that enjoy chatting or for those that enjoy watching sport and there is also a lovely 'Olde-Worlde' back room that be closed off for functions like comedy nights etc. Outside is another very decent sized covered aree for functions and also a covered drinking and smoking area. All age groups use the Dove week in, week out, it's actually a lovely place and i have just scratched the surface with my review.

A staple of any Ipswich pub crawl. The usual superb range of ales to accommodate all tastes. Friendly ladies behind the bar and nice and quiet when I visited Saturday lunchtime. Highly recommended!

Fantastic pub, staff are always friendly and eager to offer you to recommendations on beers you may like if you want a change from your normal pint. They also offer little tasters before you buy a full pint!

Brilliant pub with a good selection of ales to choose from. The Dove Street Inn was quite spacious, with a few different rooms away from the main bar area. The pub itself was very clean and served food. Although saying that the occasion I was there with a couple of mates they had stopped serving. This wasn't an issue though as the landlord was very accommodating in letting us order and eat a takeaway inside the pub.

A proper pub. Went to Ipswich to watch football and drink some real ale. They brew their own beer and also have a great selection of other real ales. The staff and locals are very friendly. Highly recommended for a visit.

Seems to be quite roomy inside (although the party sat outside as we were quite a large group). Very nice and friendly and very close for after work drinks

Great pub if you are in the area

Following Blackburn Rovers gets me around the country a fair bit, and what is a football match without a decent pub? Pointless!! Ipswich has always been a bit hit and miss (in over forty years) BUT..... No longer! To my eternal shame, I've never been there before. Fantastic would be a sleight. The beer, the the staff, the interior and all round "good egg-ness" is something to behold. Every town (hopefully) has one. Just got to track them down. Well! I've tracked it down. Feel free to follow. Fantastic establishment and long may it thrive

Once I walked to Ipswich from the east, and ended up here. Another time from the south, and I ended up here. Likewise the north. Just seem to find my way to the Dove by accident. Must have a beer-detecting compass. Not just a real ale pub, has all sorts of beers, many you'll never have heard of. And a good crew of locals as well as friendly staff to boot. Great place on a wet day too. Commended.

As an Ipswich resident, I have been visiting the Dove for years. It has consistently been one of, if not the best pub in the town for many years. So many choices of drinks from craft can beers, kegged beer, ciders and fruit wines. Another one of our regular favourites is the Balti Shepherds Pie, not to be missed!

If I could give no stars I would... We walked in and my poor dad simply asked the blonde lady behind the bar where we order our food, to which he received a disgustingly rude look and a patronising ‘urm... at the bar?’. To feel as if you are troubling the staff is a terrible feeling. We sat down for about 1 minute before I suggested we leave to go to somewhere else that didn’t have a horrible vibe and staff weren’t rude to my dad! We ended up going to the Greyhound pub in Ipswich where the staff were lovely, atmosphere was warm, and the food was delicious!

Without a doubt, not just the best pub in Ipswich but the best pub I have been in, and I have been in a few over the years. The reason is, the Dove Inn is unique in many ways. So, what makes is so different. I love the atmosphere most of all, it really is a traditional pub, if you are a real ale person then this is where you need to drink, a wide range of traditional ales that are well cared for. They even have their own brewery. Sadly, I am more of a Moretti lager man myself but do occasionally try the ales. The staff are very polite, well trained, and new customers are treated the same as years old regulars. There is a large outside covered area, where my wife and I held our wedding reception on the 26 August this year. We had over sixty guests. We discussed our reception with Karen the co-owner, she is a professional caterer, we did not need to go into fine details of what sort of buffet we required because she knows what she is doing, so we left it to her. Everyone of our guest commented, not just on the quality and quantity of the buffet food, but the constant topping up, so nothing sat there for long, and the hot items served where hot when they were eaten. Tink our waitress was a knockout with our guests because of her natural friendly approach to everyone and everything. Service with a big natural smile. Ady co-owner was constantly seen checking that everything was going to plan. As this was the third catered for event at the Dove Inn over the past five years, we were already confident that our special day would be special, and it was. As requested, Tink relentlessly also topped up our guest’s glasses with prosecco, red and white wines which we paid for, however many of our guests preferred to pay for the real ales at the bar. Everyone with out a doubt loved the Dove Inn. If you have never been in the Dove Inn before, take my advice, give it a try, you will not regret it. They do provide a food menu, which is not too extensive, because of the challenges over the past two years and let’s face it things are not completely back to normal. We go there for lunch sometimes and the food is good and certainly not expensive.

Today the dove hosted my daughters wedding. It was perfect, fantastic barbecue and what a range of craft beers. Nothing was to much trouble for the staff. Thank you so much. Highly recommend the dove.

Will not be visiting again...apparently its OK to serve regulars at 1124pm but not me at 1126pm.and when you say you will take it further you get told to f..k off by the bar staff...think you need to get your house in order Mr landlord...Will be telling my large network of friends all about this and to choose wisely if thinking of going..an opology would be nice.....
