Christchurch Park Cafe in Ipswich

A pleasant atmosphere with polite staff and the ice cream is delicious

A diamond find in Christchurch Park! Run by a very lovely lady this is now an ice cream parlour and cafe. She is so friendly and ice creams delicious. I go most Sundays with my Mum (walking from her care home) and lady always says hi to Mum. Always the same cheery welcome and smile! A must visit!

Check for opening hours (they shut up at 3:30pm on the Thursday we visited) but its fantastic when it's open. The staff couldn't be more friendly, chatty and polite. There was a good range of pre-packed icecream (including Magnum Billionaires!) and the whippy was flavourful and a good consistency. Best of all, the 99 flake is served in a waffle cone, so you get loads! The location is peaceful and has good views over the middle of the park, close to the public boules area, not far from the toilets and public table tennis area. Plus, the building itself, with its canopy and 1920's architecture is worth seeing, even if the cafe is shut.

great value for money. and as a toast we can still enjoy our coffee contemplating the most beautiful image of nature.
