Vibrant friendly atmosphere with wonderful staff! Great for watching the football! Parking at the back.

Arrived at 1700. Pleased with the room. Looked clean and tidy. Had a quiet drink outside in the courtyard outside the room. On arriving back at 2200 the pub was very busy, expected. But!! Very noisy patrons decided to argue loudly, foul language from somone called Chloe to somone called Ben from 1200 until 0130!! Right outside our door. Her mother must be proud of her! and my 76 year old mother wasn't impressed. Then after the pub closed at 0200 three gents decided to have a drunken conversation until asked to leave at 0300. Side note, Decaf coffee and tea would be good in the rooms, along with in date milk and cups that don't leak!! This looks like a quiet pub with nice chalets to the rear during the day but at night morphs into a young person's drunken free for all. This is not a place for people of a certain age!! Very disappointed. Waste of £78!!

Never again!!. Drove from Essex to get here after reading the reviews. We arrived at 4.30 pm and by 3.30 am was on our way back home to Essex. This is NOT a hotel but a pub with chalets at the back in the courtyard. Rooms acceptable but not rowdy noisy people drinking until all hours of the night/morning yards from where you are trying to sleep. No heating, WiFi or TV signals even to drown the noise out. Still waiting for the owner to call and apologise for lack of information.

Lovely hotel, friendly and welcoming owner and staff, always happy to go the extra mile to help. Stayed here twice now, both times great. Little chalet rooms at the back are so clean, tidy and quiet. Would definitely recommend. See you again next year!

Fantastic family room with kids games included, felt awkward as we arrived very late. But the owners met us and gave us a warm welcome. Lovely and clean good safe parking. Slept like a king in a comfortable bed. Absolute bargain. Thank you so much.

A warm, friendly welcome, even though we arrived later in the evening. We had booked a family room and were pleasantly surprised to find a double bed, two singles, a kitchenette with microwave, kettle and fridge (tea, coffee, sugar and milk supplied), board games, building blocks and colouring for the kids and a shower room and toilet fully stocked with toiletries. This was a perfect stay for us on our way to Lyme Regis.

Lovely place to stay lovely and clean and very friendly

As long as you are aware you are staying in an Inn and not a Hotel, your expectations should be met. Clean and just enough room for a young family of 4. Priced well for what it is. Friendly staff in the pub /very welcome, warm feeling. Several places to eat nearby. Only stayed one night as a stop-over. 3 years, on I feel I would return some day.

Clean and well presented rooms, warm welcome, good value for the area and season. No food but plenty of options available nearby.

The room was beautifully decorated and furnished tastefully with quality items. The beds are comfortable and the shower was amazing. The room and shower room was so clean and to our surprise was cleaned and replenished daily. We had a wonderful stay and there were local places to eat, and a Wetherspoon just opposite for breakfast. We found the owners Lillian and Rob very friendly and so kind and thoughtful. I would go definitely come back here and would love to spend more time in the area and with Lillian. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to return. It is a lovely area and so much to see and do.

Very helpful owner. I was working away from home and they made me very welcome. The chalets at the rear are very clean and comfy.

Nice comfortable self contained rooms. No food served but the room has a kettle, fridge and microwave so at a punch you can make your own snacks and there is a Witherspoons across the road. The showers are hot and powerful and the beds a comfy. The owners are friendly and helpful too.

My friend and I stayed here for a long weekend. We had everything we needed in our self contained room, including a microwave, kettle etc and we ate given cubs and cutlery.. Our hostess was lovely and made us feel very welcomed and she was so helpful. We were close to two amazing National Trust gardens and some lovely countryside. A great choice of esting places and takeaways in the village. We will definitely visit again. Most rooms are for two but there is a spacious family room too, and very reasonable prices...

What a lovely warm feeling about the place. Landlady is an amazing lady. Nice to feel as a single woman I could walk in on my own and not be judged.

If you like a small town single room sports bar (six screens) with a good selection of beer this is your Chard heaven. A mixed age group of customers who seem to get along quite respectfully. The owners are always on site and are cautiously friendly. Definate focus on Sky & BT sports.

We stayed in one of the converted stable chalets and it was lovely. Like our own little apartment.

Adequate accommodation, if a little noisy at night until the pub closes, then fine. Very reasonably priced for those on a tight budget. Very comfy beds.the staff are very friendly & helpful. Rooms are situated behind a traditional British pub. Suited us just right for a one night stop over.

Very good pub and quality hotel

Just come back from a long stay here with my boyfriend. We arrived Thursday evening the owner Lilly Anne greeted us and showed us to our room and was lovely and friendly. If we had any problems (which we didn't!) she was very approachable. We felt like we were almost family! Thank you for making our weekend memorable! Would highly recommend anyone to stay here!

Great atmosphere for watching sport

Went in on Friday night for the first time and within 2 pints there was a man on the floor unable to get up. Sunday afternoon I went in and there was lovely barmaid, nice customers and a great jukebox. Maybe Friday night was a one off.
