Paid for Scampi. Given Chicken Nuggets! Thieves! Waited ages for our food, and somehow they completely messed it up!

Use this place all the time best fish and chips on the island. Great menu great prices lovely owners and you can phone and pre order would highly recommend

Fish n chips as they should be crispy batter fresh flaky fish nice big chips not woody. Ordered by phone ready in ten mins , good service very polite family run chippy not the closest chippy to us but the one we prefer.

We've just moved to Hayling Island and, after days of sorting out stuff around the new place, find and chips has become a necessity.Roll up the Dolphin Fish bar. Two excellent haddock, superb chips and scrummy mushy peas, bathed in curry sauce.The haddock was perfectly cooked, and the batter light and crisp all over.The chips were prepped only once we were inside. Second time we’ve tried them. First time excellent, second time even better. At last a really good quality Fish & chips bar. The first time was also a Doner Kebab. So, the batter is light and crunchy, the fish (Haddock) very fresh. Chips are good old fashioned proper chips. The owners are friendly and efficient too.

If you want crisp chips that break your teeth with every bite these are not for you. These chips are tasty sweet and dare I say it juicy. The fish is fresh, well cooked and coated in the lightest, crispest batter you can imagine. All in all a highly enjoyable meal. Not to be confused with any reviews from years ago.

Having frequented this Chippy since childhood, I couldn't be more disappointed.Visted on Easter Friday evening. As usual the place was as expected a little busy. Order directly after my mate and then we waited. Eventually my mates order was ready but I then had to wait a further 30 mins + for mine. Bearing in mind that we both ordered Fish and Chips this is ridiculous. The main cause for the wait was the fact that people had orders meals for collection. These were prioritised over waiting customers. I had to ask for my order three times and clearly explained the situation. I was ignored by the owners who left their young front of house person to speak with me. As you can imagine the place filled up rapidly and I could see the situation getting worse. If you are going to have collection orders you need to staff and organise to ensure that you can fulfill these alongside take away. As for the food, disappointing and nowhere near the previous quality. Also I paid for sauces that aren't included and the place had a run down and slightly unclean feel. Such a shame to see this place go downhill. I hope the owners take the reviews to heart and turn things around.

Stayed 4 nights at Eastoke and had 3 evening meals here. Every one cooked to perfection. Great quality fish, nice batter and chips just right, not hard or re-fried! Had to wait for it to be fried but then you know its fresh. Wouldn't go anywhere else when staying up this end of island! Plenty of choice on menu. Great staff. 10/10

So disappointing. I arrived there before 12.30 pm on a Wednesday, when it was quiet. I ordered a take-away comprising a large cod, a haddock, and a small chips. This came to £10.50. The cod and haddock were over cooked and we left most of the batter. The chips were like leather. That is the first time - ever - that we had to leave a chip butty because it was so dry and tasteless. Needless to say, I shall not be going back there again, even though it’s the nearest chippy to our home and the parking is easy. Gutted!

Freshly cooked fish and chips , certainly the best on the Island We had haddock and cod between our group and were all again very pleased

There are five fish and chip shops on Hayling Island, and I have tried them all, the Dolphin is the best one serving lovely portions of fish and their small portion of chips is bigger than there rivals large portions.. Also if you purchase a large order, they give you a large bottle of pop.

Tend to use this for take away about once per week during summer Fish and chips always well cooked and generous portions. Very good service but very busy at times.- very well organised.

Impromptu decision with family to have take away from here and glad we did.

The Dolphin fish bar serves the best fish and chips on Hayling Island, their Haddock is beautiful,as is their cod and rock. Friendly staff and good prices

been coming here for a while, great food and service top notch, a great choice of things.nice friendly people. eat in or take away...same service. try the kebabs....mouth watering. take away and enjoy the meal

We were hungry and called in here for some fish and chips. The fish had the look and taste of frozen, bought in fish, the chips were a mix of refries and new ones. It was very poor, would not use again.

I visited a couple of weeks ago and was most impressed with the quality of the fish. The chips were chunky and not greasy. I was a little apprehensive as my last visit, some time ago, the food was appalling, absolutely swimming in grease! But the new owners are cooking everything to order. I had the huss, it was the best I'd had for some time. Can't wait to go back!!!

Ok so the place doesn't look great but the service is friendly, the prices are good, and the cod and chips out of this world. Lovely thin and crisp batter that doesn't give you indigestion !

Visited this chip shop this evening to buy a cod and chips, two portions of chips and two battered sausages....how is it possible to wrap all of this (excepting the two portions of chips) together? The resultant photo of the "cod and chips" speaks for itself. A totally ridiculous attempt to scrimp on wrapping resulting in customers being short changed. Sometimes attempts to support local businesses are not worth the effort. Won't be back...and would recommend no-one else does either.

3 words can sum this place.....DIGUSTING, GREASY & VILE.Used this place a couple of times as I was prepared to overlook the muck that they tried to pass for fish & chips the first time I used it.The chips were soggy and the box the fish was served in was swimming in grease. Okay, so one should not judge on one bad experience, but it was the same the second time.The hygiene of this place leaves a lot to be desired as I noted on my second and final visit staff taking out rubbish to the bins then returning to serve their customers. No attempt was made to wash their hands. The place is not that cheap for the rubbish they serve and I have happily just discovered Whistlers at the other end of the island. What a difference, freshly cooked fish in crispy batter with good old fashioned chip shop chips and at a good price.Every time we visit friends on the island and drive past this dive, it is either closed or devoid of customers. May I make a suggestion...DOLPHIN, PLEASE DO US ALL A FAVOUR AND CLOSE FOR GOOD.

We regularly visit Hayling every week to visit my parents and very often get food from the dolphin. The fish is by far the best to any I've ever had. The menu is larger than a lot of fish and chip shops and we have never been disappointed with the quality of food we have had. Well recommended

THIS IS A GREAT FOR TAKE A WAYS or sit in, very good value with good portions the batter is very light and crispy the way fish and chips should be. Nothing is to much trouble for the owner.WELL DONE THE DOLPHIN.

The Dolphin is great value for money fresh chips all the time lovely fish, all in all The Dolphin is my regular with polite and helpful staff and certainly puts other chippies to shame on Hayling.

Nice staff and friendly service with food cooked to order upon request. Devinder the owner is charming and friendly and always keen to please patrons. The establishment could do with freshening up but it doesn't affect the quality of the food cooked there.

Fast service, high quality fish and generous portions. We use the Dolphin regularly and have never been disappointed.

Dont be put off by the decor the food more than makes up for it great food and very cheap large portions cooked fresh helpfull starff if our stay in the area was longer I would revisit

Good quality, cooked to order, friendly service, and Pukka pies, what's not to enjoy? If it was wrapped in yesterday's copy of The Daily Sketch, drenched in vinegar, and cost ninepence you could be back in 1959!

This is my favourite fish and chip shop. Batter is always nice and thin and the portions generous. Also cheaper than others on the island.
