Best chips and mushy peas ever. It was perfect in every way and I am very happy. I just wish that I didn't live 50 miles away.

If you need the best takeaway for Chinese or Fish & Chips you won’t find better on the Wirral , little gem of a place with first class staff and very very reasonable prices . Visit it , you will not be disappointed

Been eating from here ever since I was a child, the quality and cleanliness has never changed. This is a proper family run business and the best chippy in hoylake and I would highly recommend here. Best to phone your order through as it can get busy

Fish and chips freshly cooked, great food, perfectly cooked and great value. Add in that it is a short drive to the beach to enjoy them watching the sun go down, what's not to like. Fabulous chippy will try the spring rolls next time after reading the great reviews of them.

The chips had the odd old chip that the fat was stale and inedible, we drove back to return our vegetarian vermicelli as it was acidic (stale noodles) the second replacement vermicelli was terrible! I’ve never wanted to eat there as I do not condone the huge fish in a tiny tank, that can’t turn around but thought I would give it a go..... utter disappointment!

The Dolphin has been my go-to take-away for over half a century. 'course, it was always as it is just now - but the food has always been great.Nowadays, all the English and Chinese dishes are prepared quickly and to the highest standards by the friendly owners who serve you. The chips are always crispy - my top tip is put the vinegar on at home so steam isn't generated to diminish the crispiness on the way back to your house.The portions are always plentiful, compared to other take-aways where you may be wondering why you're still feeling hungry! This is not a thought that strikes you with food from the Dolphin!I can highly recommend this place to everyone.

Been using this establishment for years and years and years. The quality of the food never alters, always first class. The family are great, very friendly and will happily do variations on a theme with regard to their menu. Have never had a bad meal. Highly recommended

Great chippy. Hot and sour soup is a favourite of mine. Along with the char siu spring rolls. They are amazing! A+++++

This is sadly a quite unique establishment. NOT your modern variant with sneaky microwaves in the back but the real deal with properly cooked food to order. The fish and the chips are good to. Special Spring Rolls are marvellous. Chinese curry superb and the Special Chow Mein brilliant. These people work hard to please. Faultless.

Called in for a quick chippy lunch. The service and portions were excellent. Got fish and chips for two. In honesty unless you were starving one portion would have served two. Excellent value.

Hoylake hidden gem! Best fresh crispy fish at £3.40 highly recommended along with the other great value food on the menu. Small family business over 40 years cooking experience which they have certainly nurtured to offer fresh food at great value.The staff are super friendly and provided everything we needed to eat at the seafront in the summer sunset. Definitely worth a visit for a traditional fish, chips, peas and curry! Well done Dolphin... never stop!

OMG their Lemon chicken is to dye for. Just perfect. I wouldn't trust anywhere else for this dish and to have boiled sticky rice included is fab, great price.

The most amazing chip shop ever. Consistently good, I’ve been going here for over 30 years. The best home made spring rolls I’ve ever tasted. Fantastic chicken fried rice. Just everything they do is wonderful. Best gravy on the Wirral. Can’t fault it. I am at a loss when they close every year for Chinese New Year for a few weeks!

The chips were nice and the staff pleasant but it was very sad to see the live carp and goldfish. They were in a tank which was about three times as long as the two biggest fish, far too small for them and yet they had to share it with several smaller fish. All swimming frantically around and gulping. It doesn't improve the enjoyment of a meal to see fish suffer like this. Please consider either getting a much bigger tank or rehoming them.

Good choice of food at reasonable prices.

The dolphins food is always amazing. I always order from here and never have I once had a problem. The fish and chips are incredible and the special fried rice! I would highly recommend ordering from here.

A friendly Chip Shop/Chinese cuisine, very quick and very tasty food, you must try their spring rolls which are made in the shop. Somewhat off the main road but well worth a visit.
