Landlord is very very rude when I asked for his name and failed to give it the behavior reaction was like a little boy not very professional

Good beer good staff great atmosphere

Didn't have food so can not give a rating for that part but overall experience, lovely town pub.

Always have been a local to this pub and always been great people part from the new landlord that's now taken over was very very rude and horrible when I asked for his name and failed to provide it which will come under against the law as you have to serve the member of the public and when I asked for a name despite if you are security or not you have to show your ID or at least say your name which this a male new landlord has failed at his job within just a few weeks one of the security guards was very polite and done his job correctly by showing me his ID badge but yet again the landlord failed straight away

Nice little place made me welcome - was just killing a little time

Pub has not been this bustling since 2014! Landlord and lady are spot on, Thursday and Sunday karaoke are so lively and so much fun. Turned this pub around guys! Keep up the good work. 👍

Very rough pub. Had two people kick off at me in a single night. Whilst dealing with one ouside, another sucker punched me. Didn't throw a single punch myself. Then the landlady let the guy that sucker punched me go back in and leave through the side exit to flee the scene. And I get put on pubwatch for this!! Even after offering to pay for damages caused during. Also, half full of addicts. Avoid at all costs.

Visited for a cribbage match. Friendly welcome, we'll-kept beer & nice food.

It’s just had a revamp. Money wasted. Was going in but when I saw the barmaid stood out the front door smoking it kind of put me off. When I saw her then discard the half smoked cigarette on the floor next to bins full of cardboard, without even putting the lit cigarette out, I changed my mind! This was mid day !!!! The amount of smokers that stand outside the front door is horrid. If the staff are happy to litter and have no respect for the community then you don’t have my custom now nor ever again. Low standards and lack of care and respect = a very poor image.

Sammy the friendly barmaid made us feel very welcome. Will certainly be back when it’s a bit cooler🍻

Lovely pub with a fantastic team, visited on karaoke night with some friends and we all left with a smile on our faces! Not to mention extremely reasonable drinks prices

Up from London staying with my daughter, came in the dolphin a couple of times over the 15 days i was in Blandford and found it a really friendly pub with friendly locals and a landlady who came from my town Enfield in London, so old fashioned boozer!! Can't wait for my next trip to see my daughter and a pint in a welcoming pub .

Always very welcoming, nice wee pub

We popped in here and we were met with a lovely bar lady (maybe Landlady?) who was very friendly and welcoming. Locals were friendly and the prices were reasonable. Only downside was no garden as it was a hot summer's day.

The Landlady is very rude not only to staff but customers too, she skims her employees pay checks and doesn't care for the safety or well-being of anyone inside the pub doors, drinks are cheap and thats the only good thing about this pub but I would highly suggest going to any other pub in the area for a much for friendlier atmosphere

Very friendly pub, good prices. Went in not knowing anyone and was treated like I'd been going there for years by not only the bar staff but the regulars also. Will be my go to pub whenever I'm in Blandford Forum.

Stopped in as Google told me they showed the football for the champions league. They did with a big TV in the bar area and other TVs in the main seating area. However my Coke Zero tasted strange they didn’t do any food and the atmosphere wasn’t great. Had one drink and left.

Friendly staff and punters, lovely set up so are able to watch sports and so on, definetly reccomend giving it a go

drinks are very cheap so i always come here after work ..will check it out in the evenings soon as theyve some entertainment at weekends .. bar staff are nice and the barman remembered what i have to drink and ive only been in 4 or 5 times ..i will be support this place in the future ..not keen on the big tv's with sport on but thats easy enough to ignore if your not into it

went in for quick drink, but not a good experience. stood,at bar waiting to be,served, but I was,obviously invisible to the barman especially when he,started to restock the shelfs. so,we,left. unless your a,hardened drinker avoid

went here after work very soon after it had opened after lock down as i have just moved to Blandford and wanted to support local pubs ... when i walked in everyone stared at me ..which happens in these places sometimes , but the barman was rather abrupt said i needed a mask ..im actually exempt..i told him so and there was no one else wearing one .. I never went back .why would I ? .theres more friendly pubs in the area ..just pick one of those

Great local pub ! Small, welcoming, and great value. A great typical British pub in the heart of Blandford Forum. This is only an interior venue. But well worth a visit.

Popped in with our two little dogs to get out of the rain. Welcomed by friendly lady and relaxed for a while with a couple of drinks. How relaxation should be. Thanks

I've been here with work, the staff was nice and welcoming, the dj was eccentric, but most of all everyone had a good time!

Loud music. Quite staff. Warm beer. It’s a “Craft Union” pub, this has nothing to do with craft beer. Music then turned up even louder. Barmaid was vaping behind the bar, then went outside for a cigarette, came in and music turned up again. One star for having Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. One star for reasonably priced beers. Cash only? It’s 2019, get with it! Maybe I shouldn’t base my review on one night, but I’m unlikely to return for a second experience.

Great pub atmosphere, excellent pricing. Pub does get very busy when there is sport on but the rest of the time you can relax by the fire and enjoy a drink from a good range available.

Popped in for a drink to check it out since it now has new management after having been a Piddle Brewery pub previously but is now a Freehouse. Prices are very competitive and must surely be the cheapest place in Blandford for a refreshment!

I moved to a village local to Blandford in August 2018 with my husband and newborn baby. (We have no knowledge of the area of surrounding areas) It was an incredibly hot day in early August, and we parked just off of the high street as we set off to register our newborn sons birth in Blandford. Little did we know it was a fair walk to the office in the heat, being redirected by friendly locals as the address wasn’t correct online. We had him in a baby carrier and on the walk back to the car we needed to change him. We tried the local shops and no one had facilities, a local con club I think it was, wouldn’t allow children in. My husband went ahead and went into a few shops and asked if we could use their toilets. Eventually he went into this pub and asked if we could use the toilets if he made a purchase and he was told to go ahead. I came in behind and after him carrying the changing bag. There wasn’t anywhere suitable to lay his mat to chage him so we left, and my husband again went ahead as I was a lot slower than he after recently giving birth and still in pain. As I left, who I can only presume to be the landlady, came out shouting abuse telling me to “f’ing ask next time” calling me a “rude b**ch” I ran ahead to my husband and baby in tears and I have never been made to feel so low by somebody. Clearly my emotions were heightened by giving birth a couple of weeks prior and ordinarily I would have turned around and questioned why she was saying that and explain I was clearly with the man who asked! But a little kindness goes a long way, and I will never forget that awful exprience. I would never go in or near this place again, and make sure no one I know does either.

Good pub for watching sport, friendly atmosphere, good range of beers and prices are excellent compared to other pubs.

Since being turned around this pub is the best and cheapest place to drink locally.

Absolutely awful attitude of landlady Free juke box but not allowed to use it Warm beer. Not friendly attitude Will never go again until under new management.

Can't pay by card only cash. Rude staff if you don't have exact change. Was much better when Piddle brewery owned it.

The worst pub to make your family feel welcome in Weymouth shame as every other pub we visited was brilliant. Not even a hello only had one drink doesn't take a lot to say hello . Can't really say anything else about it

Decent pub on normal nights but absolutely rammed last night for Champions League final. Staff couldn't cope, took forever to get served so went elsewhere.

Lovely pub but I'm not one for a sports bar myself and with three big screens it would be a fabulous pub for the sports minded. Friendly staff and some great beer.

Friendly little pub in this small market town. Recently changed management and undergone some refurbishment. Feels very welcoming and comfortable. Great place for a pint

The last review says the customer service was poor. Well it would have been nice to have had a chance to experience it in the first place! We were part of a group of exhibitors at the Steam Fair and went out on a road run looking for a pint and some food. We were moved on before even entering the place by the very rude woman who met us on the pavement we assume is the landlady as she thought our transport smelled, don't stop on a yellow line and do not be disposing of rubbish in "her" bins outside the pub and that basically we should just clear off. Unpleasant.

On a very rare afternoon off with the Hubby we decide to pop in for a cheeky pint and a bite to eat only to be met with a sleeping barmaid/landlady, not the best first impression I must say!!!! Even after being told by someone serving behind the bar she needed to serve and needed to be in the kitchen she still refused to move. We promptly left and spent a lovely afternoon at the Greyhound. Obviously the custom of locals isn't a concern, wont be visiting again!!!

Got there about 3, few pints, then vodka and coke, say no more, thanks Ben and Tracey had a great night.

The Dolphin is a nice little country pub. It is an unpretentious and friendly place that is popular with the locals who want a quiet pint but is also welcoming to visitors. You won't find boutique ales or specialist gins but you will get an honest pint and a smile. It's a little more lively at the weekends and they have occasionally had live music (although not that I've seen recently and it is really too small anyway). I've not eaten there but I've heard good things. Recommended.

Get pub. Sunday lunch was lovely and the roast potatoes where amazing. Good honest traditional pub food.

This is a great local pub with friendly staff and dog friendly. The food is cracking and a good selection of guest beers and lagers. Lovely old building with low ceilings.

La última vez que fui a Blandford los pubs visitamos dejaba mucho que desear. Este sin embargo es fabulosa! Un par de lugareños desde fuera recomendado la comida y tenían razón ¡fue genial! Tuvimos el casero hamburguesas que eran realmente delicioso. Vinieron en bollos encantador, con las patatas fritas brioche más crujiente con la media más suaves. También crujientes aros de cebolla y una generosa ensalada.Había una buena opción para los vegetarianos - risotto de hongos, Lasaña asada con vegetales y hamburguesa vegetal son las que recuerdo haber visto.Hay una buena selección de ale y un Portero cornish que no tuve tiempo de probar, por desgracia.El pub en sí es precioso y acogedor. Mesas sólidas, pisos de madera y las mujeres 'loo era muy agradable. En los estantes de libros y juegos, así que puede servirte.Me encantó y sin duda volveremos.

Un salto por una pinta y nos quedamos para comer. No dejes que el aparentemente escaso, todo en el menú es cocinado a la perfección y bien presentada. Los dueños y el personal es encantador y los lugareños. El pub es perros y agrega a la atmósfera agradable que siempre hay algo para charlar. Hemos vuelto y amigos tomado, grub magnífico en cada ocasión. Pretendemos hacer de este un evento regular!

A very good selection of local beers. The food was also very good. This is a must pub to visit for traditionalists who like nostalgia.

Warm, friendly traditional pub; food is really good with pub favourites like cottage pie and fish and chips but done well with locally sourced ingredients - also the soup, starters and especially the puds are great.
