The Dog is my local pub in Bearwood and I can’t recommend it enough. The team are always very helpful, Lauren in particular. My kids enjoy it there too.

Always a lovely warm atmosphere, with lots of great food options as well as crayons and books on hands for kids to enjoy whilst they are here

Always fabulous food, wonderful service and friendly staff. The dog is dog friendly (of course 🥰) and family friendly with a little library for little ones. A amazing selection of drinks with fast service and a excellent choice of meals for everyone's taste. There are so many reasons to go to the dog so defo go and try it out for yourself 🥰🥰😘 I had the tandoori skewers today , the food was delicious and the staff were so friendly , deffo be back 🥰

My partner and I decided to pop to The Dog on Friday for curry night. It didn’t disappoint. We had the two course set menu and the food was delicious arrived within the promised wait time. Staff are very friendly and seem happy to serve! The pub was busy and had a lovely atmosphere so ended up staying later than planned due to us enjoying the evening. Thoroughly recommend.

Again a lovely evening with delicious food and fabulous staff- thankfully I didn’t need first aid as wore sensible shoes 🤣🤣🤣

Has to be prob one of the worse places I have been too .. spoilt our wedding anniversary.. oh well never return

Such a lovely lunch! The manager couldn’t have done enough for us she was so lovely! The food was excellent steak was cooked to perfection and the Cajun fries were so yummy! Definitely recommend and will be returning!

Excellent manageress she has just dealt with a very difficult guest who was swearing and shouting and being irate. Will definitely be coming back the pub has really turned a corner since she has arrived.

I recently celebrated a birthday at The Dog, and it was a delightful experience! Our group of 8 enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, quick service, and delicious food. The food was well lovely 😍 The pub is also dog friendly as we had two dogs. We had our food in the outside area when the food was brought to us they placed the food at the table and left we could ask as she didn't leave any cutlery/napkins or if we needed sauces...but didn't mind fetching them ourselves and for our kids...just thinking of the elderly and people with disabilities etc...but anyway lovely pet friendly pub as we had 2 dogs I even foned my parents to come down and a drink with us so all lovely definitely visiting again as food was lovely 😍 👌 👍

Visited the other day with my wife, and we were served and greeted by a gentleman in a yellow/mustard coloured jumper. I didn't catch his name. He was absolutely pleasant and reminded me of the younger days when gentlemen were gentlemen. The food was good, but customer service from this gentleman was great and will return again. Adding more from visit today 14th april from around 1pm. Once again the young gentleman was very pleasant. What seem like the manager, she also was very friendly, I didn't catch the gentleman name again but he got tattoos. But great service once again. Editing this from today. 29.07.2024 I visited yesterday and today, them gentlemen on the evening was running around, you can see them doing the best and the place looked short staffed. The gentleman than I placed a review on before was there last night and today, he once again was pleasant despite looking exhausted. The long hair guy was also doing he's best although you can see how fed up he was. I would recommend more staff on the evening, I feel to see staff being worked to their bones, especially when they are polite and hard workers like these. I will return again, has it a local. But I hope to return to a more staffed place on evenings has my wife made a point with how it isn't nice to see unfortunately.

Firstly they didn't have the falafel to go with the salad, then , they didn't have the drink I ordered. When the salad came out , it was ment to be a grain salad .... there were no grains . They took the salad back , 10 mins later it came back with grains . Meanwhile the person I was with finished their chicken wings and OVERCOOKED chips . We sat outside , the tables were falling apart. The patio was unkept....I could go on about how bad it was for a potentially nice looking pub on the inside ....Was also offered nothing what so ever to compensate for such bad service ... was the first time coming and will not be going again..... Edit to add... just had desert , caramel cheesecake. Described as with caramel and coconut ... tasted of neither....

Have had a previous visit that was reviewed higher as service and food was good, today was very disappointing. Party of two, One order for starter and 2 mains, starter and one main came same time, had to wait ages for the second main to arrive and it had obvious been under the heat lamp as very dry and chips tasteless. Tables very slow to be cleared. Ordered a coffee and small Desert, drinks arrived but the wait for desert was considerable, eventually had to raise with waitress, came eventually with no apology for the wait..... obviously forgot about it. Very disappointed

Beautiful scenery that emphasises the loving staff and the food. Absolutely recommend coming here for food anytime of the day whenever you feel hungry as well as your Sunday lunch❤️

Thank you to the staff at The Dog. We went for my Dad's memorial gathering.. Space to hear the lovely memories. We had our own area to gather and use of TV to show show our pictures and sound to play all the songs he liked. The food was very very good and lots of it... A table for unlimited Tea/Coffee There was food left over and the staff put it into take away boxes for people to take. What a good idea... Thank you for making this day really nice.

Popped in yesterday for a catch up with a friend. The pub was nice and busy and there was a lovely atmosphere. Great pub and even better staff, thank you!

Good food seem to start to run out of food even when had book the table and so they should have know how much food they had got in .so that was a bit disappointing but the food was good great service and atmosphere can also sit outside but the day was good and the staff made the welcome and made my birthday special thankyou to the staff

Came here for evening drinks. Large carpark at the back of the pub, accessible via the side road. Facilities nice and clean. Although didn't eat, food looked good and plenty empty plates- curry night on Friday night. Beer garden for warmer evenings. Attentive staff. Arrived at 7.30pm and was really busy and remained busy all night, just a few seat areas available.

I had a very good experience at the Dog. From start to finish, Sam the manager was very understanding and helped me arrange my husbands wake, nothing was too much trouble, even Sam's surggestion of the photo slide show was a great addition to the day. The service was very efficient, food was lovely and special diatry needs were catered for. Even the Dog Box (for left over food to take home) was appreciated by family and friends. I can't thank 'The Dog' team enough for making a sad occasion into a pleasant experience for me and my family.

I would like to give a big shout out to Sarah and Ian, who were absolutely brilliant today. Ian gave a lovely warm welcome when I arrived to bring my grandad out for his 95th birthday. We also had my new 9 week old puppy with us. He kindly directed us to the dog friendly area and I was really pleased she could sit inside with us. Then we ordered our food, (which was lovely by the way) and mentioned to the staff it was my grandads birthday. Honestly, was so touched that they brought him a brownie and ice cream out and even sang happy birthday to him. It was a lovely gesture and made my grandads day (mine too). I really would like to recognise them for what they did and for making our lunch so memorable. I will absolutely be back again and I'll bring Willow again too....she had a great time too. Thank you Ian and Sarah, the world needs more of you xx

I went last week Thursday and ordered the Hunters chicken, recommended by my waitress Sarah. The food was absolutely delicious and our waitress was very kind and hospitable. Would recommend.

Can never fault the service or the food. Staff are always busy, but always happy to serve. Food is always hot when it comes to the table.

Me, my wife and our friend came on what has become a fairly regular monthly visit. It was unusually quiet, which took us a little by surprise. Two of us started with the panko-coated butterfly prawns and the other with calamari, which arrived in good time, were hot and perfectly tasty. For mains we had chicken tikka masala, with samosas and poppadoms, sea bass and steak. These took slightly longer to arrive than we've become used to, but not a ridiculously long time. We did have to remind our waiter that there should be mango chutney and tzatziki with the samosas and poppadoms, but he returned with both of these items quickly and with no fuss. All of our meals were up to snuff and temperature, the staff were friendly and attentive and we had a pleasant evening.

The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were a good size and the dessert was divine. Sam was an excellent host to us and I would highly recommend eating here

Slow service and average food. Not great when you take a party of nine. Starters took 50 minutes to come out and the place was quiet. Not enough staff throughout. Waiter was totally inexperienced and just placed the food at the end of the table for us to distribute. Also brought mains out with the starters so had to send them back. Not great.

We arrived at the Dog to find fully booked & no walkins but went in anyway & was greeted by Sarah who asked Sam if could fit us in well we had brilliant meal all 4 of us our friend had.never been before they realy liked the atmosphere very friendy wiill deffo be coming again soon warm & friendly place

The only pub that i have been to in the area that cooks a medium rare steak and it actually comes out medium rare, my steak was lovely and juicy, I would highly recommend the dog to anyone who likes friendly and welcoming pubs with beautifully cooked comfort food.

A first time visit to this restaurant ( and the last!) on a Thursday afternoon.Ordered Gammon steak and chips with peas. Food arrived, cold gammon steak and chips and garden peas that were dried up and hard to eat. Would not recommend it to friends..The restaurant looks lovely but the cold dinner plates and meal was very disappointing Mrs Helen Daly

Dog friendly pub, food was amazing but I think they were having a few issues today with service and uncooked roast potatoes but the management were all over it, amazing customer service so can't complain but was a shame this let the experience down. Has not put us off as the food was out of this world as was the customer service...dog met a new friend and also had the best time! Great doggy menu available and free treats too. We will be back soon (breakfast is also amazing as had before) x

The recent renovations, tidying up of the outdoor area and revamped menu has really lifted what was already a firm favourite in Bearwood. The staff at The Dog are always so friendly and happy to help, stoked to call this my local!

Staff are no help at all we was waiting to be told where we could go as we had a dog with us staff looked and stared not once asking if we needed help then when we finally managed to ask one of them he sighed and then just pointed and said to to that section only if you have a dog, we felt so unwelcome that we got up and just left and went elsewhere cant say we will ever be going back to this place terrible service

Michael was a fantastic waiter, food was served with a smile and very quick. Shame the guy with the ponytail was obsessed with our dog being in the way even after we moved the their table a metre out of the way and kept making sure our doggie was as tight to our table as possible!

Very disappointed last night. Table was booked for 715. Went to order food at 8.05. Only to be told the kitchen was closed. I asked the man behind the bar why wasn't we informed of this on arrival and he just shrugged his shoulders and said there is a technical fault.

First time here today. Met friend for lunch. The lunch 3 course menu is excellent value for money. Food arrived hot, well presented and was very tasty. The battered halloumi was lovely! The nachos were the best I've had in ages, lots of dippy sauces over them. Puddings devine! Fruit roulade was special today. Lovely atmosphere, quite busy for mid week, lots of walkers from the park. Pet friendly for you dog owners.

Always a nice place to visit, this time I was treated to lunch by my daughter and her partner. I've go to say you have to try the battered sea bass fillets, they were a delight. Thin and crispy batter, the fish was cooked perfectly. Thanks to Sam and the rest of team the at the Dog.

Great pub peroni isnt very good some days but staff are great taylor and luke sarah are great always very helpful! My local pub great friendly place to go and dog friendly

The staff were very accommodating for allergies that we had within the group. Sam served us, she was very bubbly and helpful. Whilst away on holiday we sometimes find it difficult to find places for the dog but she was allowed to join us and there was even a dog menu as well as treats from the bar staff.

This pub is the best in sandwell by far! Amazing food and service, Sarah looked after us from the moment we arrived to the moment we left, definitely recommend to anyone who wants 5 star service in a five star establishment, thank you Sarah we can't wait to come back and see you again your a star
