We called in for a spot of lunch after our walk and were surprised with the extensive menu and the reasonable prices. We sat in the sunshine on the patio at the back overlooking the Ribble valley and thoroughly enjoyed our chicken skewers and chicken burger accompanied by a nice salad and proper chips. The portions were large and the food was very tasty. Service was warm and friendly and we will certainly eat here again.

Total rip off owners are so arrogant especially the woman looks at you like your crap,she thinks she's better then everyone

This is a poor place. Service is horrific, and the staff make up blatant lies lol. I review food as a bit of a laugh on TIk tok and i reviwed this a 3/10 which was generous. Then one of their "supervisors" who must be about 12 becuase i saw no one there older than a teenager said i was "loud" and "homophobic" what a load of absolute waffle, i was dining with my mrs and she has a sister who is a homosexual so she'd hammer me if i said anything like that. So this is just pure deflection and proper nonsense. wouldnt usually slam a place on google but thats deserved. clowns.

Accommodation booking cancelled with no reason given and phone numbers didn't work. Evebtually told this pub has been taken over and cancellation beyond their control. Have found another place now and looking at recent reviews seems we dodged a bullet.

Really worried that something has changed for the worse, food was average to say the least, scampi & chips seemed to be fried in old burnt flavoured oil. Service was very slow...such a massive shame as we loved going here. What's changed??? Please bring back the old Dog Inn.

We had a table booked at 1pm, by which time some of their main dishes had sold out. We then waited an hour for our order to arrive and the food was terrible. The beer battered haddock was clearly fish in breadcrumbs straight from the freezer, burnt in a deep fat fryer. The burger was greasy and the steak and ale pie was more gravy than anything else. The only highlight was the number of visiting dogs!

Had a lovely lunch here, the wine was good and there was a good choice. The soup was lovely, the steak Canadian would have benefited from asking how you would like it cooked as it came medium rare, other half didn’t mind, but I wouldn’t have been able to eat it.

We came to longridge for a birthday weekend away.We we’re given a 1 bedroom apartment.Room number 3.It was amazing.Could of stayed longer.Dog inn is v close to shops and bar of longridge.Staff ever so friendly.We ate in restaurant bar.The food was cooked to a great standard.We will definitely be returning.

If I could have rated this pub Zero Stars I would have done. The most unprofessional place we have visited in over 40 years and it’s beyond the realms of possibilities how they have so many positive reviews. The restaurant side of the pub wasn’t overly busy and what we witnessed whilst waiting to be served was truly unprofessional. Staff sat slouched around a table in the restaurant on mobile phones on a food break to a member of staff who thought it was fine to hold a hot plate with the sleeve of his hoodie/jumper. We waited over a hour from our starter and still hadn’t been served our mains, when this was brought to someone’s attention they went to the kitchen to ask. When they returned we was told it was on its way out, and the manageress/owner shouted to other members of staff I’m not going back in the kitchen. The food still hadn’t arrived so we got up to leave and has we were leaving the food came out. Too late. How you think a hours wait for a Sunday roast is acceptable is beyond me to the point It’s laughable especially when they didn’t have that many covers.

Never been before and booked for a lunch whilst on a break in the area. We both ordered burgers and they were lovely - good sized portions and tasty too. The staff were friendly and the bar area certainly filled up whilst we were eating. Nice place - would recommend

I stayed here for two nights for work. The pub was well located within the village. Lovely accommodation, very comfortable. The pub was warm and welcoming and the food good quality and plentiful. Would both return and recommend.

ABSOLUTELY Amazing,, working in the area and the Dog inn pub and accommodation was recommended,,, wow, 1st arrival in our work clothes, we were greeted by the very beautiful hostess/landlady/owner, who promptly escorted us to our 2 bedroomed apartment,, my goodness, absolutely stunning,, attention to detail was 2nd to none,, fabulously clean and VERY very well decorated,, after showering etc, we went down to the restaurant/pub, again fabulously decorated, super friendly efficient staff, and the menu and choice was unbelievable, steak nite Thursday, 2 x steaks and a bottle of wine for 40pounds, fantastic value when you see the quality of the food coming out of the kitchen,, hats off to the chef 👨‍🍳, we actually went for the full monty burger, with chips, whole corn on the cobb, with coleslaw , a burgers never beaten me but this one did,, 🤦🏻‍♂️, what a super experience, all staff and especially our hostess never stopped all nite,,, this Is definitely our new port of call when in the area again,, (soon I hope),,, WELL WORTH A VISIT EVERYONE 👍👍10/10,,

This place is great! Returned for another visit to celebrate my son & his girlfriend passing their driving tests…. Naturally with a new chauffeur I asked the landlady for a chilled bottle of her finest Sauvignon B, this did not disappoint! Dishes hit the spot as always with a chilled, cosy atmosphere and attentive staff. A tremendous Saturday tea time. 10/10 The Dogg Inn

We went for our dinner at the Dog Inn and WOW!!!!!The food was amazing!!!so tasty, delicious and very very good quality. Staff were great and service was brilliant!! Would absolutely recommend and would visit again

Absolutely gorgeous place. Was in the area after visiting friends and decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad we did. Staff were fantastic and friendly, happy to help and give recommendations. Starters: I had Nachos which were lovely and crispy and generousl loaded with cheese, salsa, guacamole and sour cream Hubby to be had BBQ ribs which he said were some of the best he's had .. I had a bite of one and can confirm they were bloody good ribs. Mains: I had the hanging chicken skewer.. wow the chicken was so succulent it slid of the skewer with ease, seasoned beautifully and came with chips and salad that had a lovely fresh dressing on it. Hubby to be had tbone steak... It was massive, with Diane sauce. He asked for rare to medium rare and if was cooked just right. Some how I managed to fit in a dessert which was Belgian waffle with ice-cream and chocolate sauce Perfect end to a beautiful meal If you are in the area and looking for some to eat I'd highly recommend this place

Visited twice with friends in the last month, excellent food a good service from friendly attentive staff. Generous portions, good value for money. Lovely dining area with beautiful panoramic views. Very reasonably priced cask beers.

Attended recently after staying locally food was outstanding, the grilled chicken was very tasty. Best food in Longridge.

A very friendly and professional greeting after which we were lead to our tables, presented with menus and asked what drinks we would like which were then promptly served to us. Even though we only had the table for two hours we never felt rushed to order. Upon placement of order we asked for some more drinks and only waited a short while for our meals to be served. Eldest son had sirloin steak and youngest had the sausage and mash. Both my wife and I had the fish and chips which had the most crispy and light batter and cooked perfectly. All clean plates and no room for what looked like delicious desserts. Highly recommended and hope to visit again very aoon

Lovely Saturday afternoon lunch here , staff friendly , nice to see Kelvin again, tasty mains of haddock and chips and steak pudding both very nice. Well priced food and drinks compared to other places we have eaten locally, will definitely be back soon for food or even just drinks, only thing with sitting outside is you have to pay as you go with drinks and food but don’t let this put you off going, thanks very much guys.

First time at The Dog and what a lovely pub it is. We only had drinks but the staff were very helpful and friendly. Dog friendly and a lovely outlook to the rear from the beer garden. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful food, however the portions are like Tapas size. Myself & Partner both had Sunday Lunch, and it has to be the smallest Sunday roast I’ve ever seen, wouldn’t feed a mouse. Very Disappointing. The ice Cream shop opposite is amazing - which sorted is out, highly recommend that place

What promised to be a superb meal after the starters was ruined by careless preparation and service.I informed the order taker of my food allergy to bell peppers.He checked back again before service.When my meal of a burger arrived it was served with a relish containing bell peppers which I detected as soon as I tried it.I attracted the attention of one of the servers who confirmed it was so.There was a brief apology but it was done in a cavalier fashion with no concern for the repercussions.The meal if chicken caesar salad was also poor.The chicken was dry and inedible and the salad was mixed leaves rather than the traditional iceberg. The starters of pigs in blankets and the special of chilli prawns were excellent and the bottle of wine we shared was beautifully chilled.Sadly this did not compensate for what then happened.The failure to check back during main course meant that we left at best disappointed and at worst ill due to my allergy.We paid the full total bill which included the government subsidy. We did not leave a tip- for the first time ever

We won the competition to go to the Dog Inn for Sunday lunch which was advertised as they reopened. The management took the sensible decision of not allowing children in for the first couple of weeks after opening post lockdown to see how everything would work so we’ve had to wait a few weeks to claim our prize. However it was well worth the wait. Having a baby we had planned to take the pram in but the proprietor politely advised us this was against current regulations. The management had gone to real effort to make sure you felt safe, separate entrance and exit, hand sanitizer readily available, markings on the floor, table service only and disposable menus. We were shown to a quiet table in the corner with plenty of space and a view over the back terrace. The pub itself has a lovely interior with interesting bits about the pub’s history framed on the walls. For starters we had black pudding and chorizo bonbons with sriracha mayo and nachos. The bonbons were a taste sensation, if we weren’t having mains we could have filled up on a truck load of them! I opted for the roast beef for my main course whilst my husband went for the rag pudding. Both portions were ample and well presented. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and the rag pudding equally as tasty. Needless to say we were too full for a pud! Will definitely visit again soon!

Had a lovely visit the other day very tasty food! Would recommend and be back to try more. Service brilliant too and felt safe.

Stayed here for one night while visiting friends. Accommodation was very nicely decorated and carpets lovely and thick. Bed and bed linen were also very comfortable. Only criticisms would be there was no hand wash or hand sanitiser in our bathroom which we would have expected during the coronavirus. Also no floor mat. Fresh milk instead of UHT and maybe a biscuit would have been nice too. Small details but would have been nice touches especially when they advertise at £140 per night. We also had a drink in the bar down stairs and ppe and social distancing were non existent.

Came in for lunch at 2:10pm, there were two workmen at the bar drinking with the manager. However, we were told that 'we aren't opening till 3pm' so got turned away and the only reason the door was open was due to 'a delivery coming'... not impressed by clear half-arsed attitude; so shall not be returning. No evidence of PPE worn by staff either.

Dog friendly, had a quick drink but very expensive, nice pub though, friendly helpful staff. Free parking round the back.

We ate here on Saturday and had a great experience all round. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so hospitable and friendly and they remained like this throughout the night. The food was fantastic- hot,tasty served in a good time. We had 3 courses and loved all three- I recommend the duck! We would definitely eat here again.

We booked last minute for a party of 14 and they accommodated us brilliantly. Friendly staff and great service. The food was excellent, we all enjoyed our meals. A friend said it’s the best fish and chips he’s had and he’s had a lot :-) really fresh! Def worth a visit, lovely pub!

Absolutely fantastic meal!!! Staff really friendly and interior top spec..A pub meal that you could literally not fault at all. Quality of ingredients, way it was cooked, served and by staff who were courteous throughout.. Quality was top spec without a doubt. U park the car at the back and the place looks ok from outside and u walk in n it starts from there. Food is competitively priced n the menu is comprehensive. I will be bringing the family back again, even if the location is a 40 min drive from home.. I admit I only write reviews when places are either fantastic in this case or well below parr. The Dog Inn is a great choice for a family meal, u will not be disappointed. We all had the Sunday Roast today. Thanks for making our trip out one to remember. Dog friendly which made it easy taking the family puppy....Cheers guys!!!!!!!!!

My wife and I took our daughter and two granddaughters for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was busy with the bar and eating area being in one large space. We had roast salmon on crushed potato which was done to a turn and very tasty. The atmosphere was very friendly. Two portions of haddock and chips were consumed by my daughter and eldest granddaughter. The portions were very large but the quality absolutely first class. The 9 yr old ate a cheese omelette from the kiddies menu and said that it was very nice. Starters included scrumptious black pudding sausage rolls with mayo. Sweets were equally as good especially the sticky toffee pudding. All in all a super evening enjoyed by all with first class service to match.

Been a few times for a meal and never disappointed. Visited last night for a meal, two of us had curry and one had a steak, all cooked to perfection. Kelvin and all staff very helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit.

We stayed overnight at the beautiful Dog Inn. The room was of excellent quality. I would highly recommend a visit. The food was also very good.The whole place has a very welcoming atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. I will definitely be returning when next in the area!

Recommended to The Dog Inn, by the landlord of The Alston (on a Tuesday when The Alston is closed at lunchtime) I visited this co-owned establishment for a (business) lunch.

Nearly the first in, it’s a nice pub, dog friendly and the staff are excellent. We just had small fish and fries with the trimmings. It was nicely cooked, batter golden and crisp, fish lacked a little taste, but everything else first class. Premium lager is what we really like and it’s always in good order. Staff I couldn’t fault. It’s a nice pub with good pub grub. We will be back.

Haven’t been here before & booked last minute after cancelling another restaurant as their menu was disappointing. We were not disappointed with the menu here! There was plenty of choice & the prices reasonable, even better for the men was the beer they chose was on offer at about £2 a pint! It went down well. We were made to feel welcome when we arrived with friendly staff & a good atmosphere.

Luxury apartments they are ! Best of everything! Twin beds , tv in bedroom, beds really comfortable. Sitting room , tv , sofa bed , all top quality! Kitchen off , everything you need , all the best equipment, washing machine , cooker , fridge freezer ect. . We would definitely stay again ! Well done to the Dog Inn ! Fantastic stay.

Went to the dog in this evening for tapas was very pleasantly surprised food was very tasty compliments to the chef! Lovely new owners, Kelvin and Sam where more than happy to help! Will definitely visit again.

We visited here on Friday evening, all three courses were delicious! Would definitely recommend the Thai mussel broth for starter and the chicken balti for main, beautiful! Great service from Kelvin and the rest of the team. Lovely to see familiar faces I’m sure they will have every success here! Would definitely recommend and will be returning. Lovely to see the place doing well under the new owners.

We have been here lots of time over the last year. Mostly good experiences, always good service from friendly staff.

I visited over the bank holiday weekend with my sister and stayed for 4 nights. There was some mix up with our room when we arrived, my sister had booked a room with beds for 2 people (a double bed and a bed-settee) but our room had been allocated to someone else so we just had a double bed. Simon, the new manager was really apologetic he went out of his way to make amends and provided an inflatable mattress for us (which proved to be unsuitable) so we ended up having to share a bed for the 4 nights. To compensate, we were given a free 3-course dinner and a bottle of wine on our first night which was excellent, the food was first class and the staff were extremely pleasant. The accommodation is very modern, light and airy and had everything we needed but there are a couple of things that I think need to be addressed by the management:

Stunning views. Country chic style decor. Friendly staff despite being run off their feet. Delicious food. Cod goujons - fish so light and fresh. Steak and ale pie - tasty, plentiful and really good proper chips. Twice baked cheese soufflé- light in texture but very tasty. Desserts a delight. All for extremely reasonable prices!

What a great night, never been to the dog inn before but will visit again. Excellent food, great Greek entertainment, superb caring and attentive staff. All in all a wonderful night. We will be back

Went with some friends from nr Leicester for a meal yesterday.

Lovely lunch. So much, I saved some to take home with me. Also went for an evening meal with family, and they enjoyed it too.

Well have not been to the restaurant before but some friends have recently moved to the area so let’s give it a try.

We’d just been to the cinema and our newborn needed feeding so we came into the nearest pub. And what a treat it was! We ended up having a 2 course Sunday meal and it was excellent. Melt in the mouth rare roast beef with all the trimmings and chicken liver parfait to start. Very happy to have stumbled across this pub with super friendly staff too. We will definitely be coming again.

Visited lunch time today. Absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food they served up was beautiful. Good veggie options so will be back with one's husband. Keep up the good work and see you soon. Might even give the Greek night a go ...

Spent a weekend in Longridge to participate in Create Longridge and stayed in the Luxury apartments that this pub offers. Lovely apartment, with everything catered for, including a washing machine, was a treat. Lovely and quiet, the apartment was clean and comfortable. Sunday morning the pub does ‘breakfast’ - lovely fresh ingredients and huge portions! Would recommend this place highly and the staff are so friendly and obliging.

How unusual to find veggie paella on the menu. It was outstanding and beautifully presented. I wish I'd taken a photograph. My husband and our friend had the fish and both said it was perfect. Her husband was well satisfied with his gammon and egg. For such quality food the prices are very reasonable.

Me and my wife visited the Dog Inn after visiting family at a nearby campsite. The place was packed and we hadn't booked a table but the staff made an extra effort to fit us in. The food took a little while to arrive due to the amount of people in there but once it did we were not disappointed. The food was superb! well presented with subtle flavors, and meat supplied by local farms. The range of beers on offer was good and my wife also enjoyed the extensive choice of gin! We would definitely revisit if we were in the area again. Great atmosphere, great food and drinks and very friendly helpful staff!

We moved here earlier in the year and are lucky enough to be able to walk over to The Dog Inn - have to say it’s the best pub around and the food never disappoints. I love the building, the history is on the wall to the left - and we love the openness and casual dining atmosphere.

This is our second visit, the last being in the middle of winter with the log fire burning. Today was a lovely sunny day so we took the opportunity of sitting on the terrace after we had finished our lunch. The food was very good and reasonably priced with good service. They also allow dogs. Car parking is at the rear and is not so obvious from the road. We will definitely return.

We have been to The Dog Inn on a number of occasions for Sunday lunch and the food and service has been first rate. Had a Greek style pulled lamb starter with feta and pomegranate on a pitta which was delicious. The roast beef is simply divine, served pink and is so tender it melts in your mouth. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Will certainly be back soon.

We have just had our first visit to the Dog Inn and we can't believe what we have been missing. The pub itself is so tastefully done, everything is so clean and well presented. We opted for the Sunday lunch and it was delicious. Tender roast beef and lovely fresh vegetables. The Yorkshire pudding and the roast potatoes were to die for. I had a passion fruit cheesecake for dessert and it was really good. The staff are all lovely and friendly. We will definitely be adding this to our list of places to eat.

Last night we all thoroughly enjoyed the food, attentive service and atmosphere. Andy the chef is a credit to the business our food was gorgeous !

We visited lately before a trip to the palace cinema near by. What an absolute gem this place was, wish it was my local. Very dog friendly, lovely decor, clean, good menu, fresh cooked food. I had the fish and chips, couldn't fault it. Service was spot on too, well done guys a great pub.

First visit to this pub following a recommendation. Surprised but delighted by the modern ambiance inside the pub, which has been tastefully done whilst retaining the old personality of the pub with many historic pictures on the walls. The view over the rear car park of the Longridge reservoir and Ribble valley, is worth a visit in its own right. The sun terrace at the back is also nice addition. Food and drink were very good and the service was friendly and welcoming. Would recommend especially on a bright summers day.

Took our friend here for an early dinner. A very friendly atmosphere and beautiful decor.

Visited here over the weekend with our dog and the staff were more than accommodating. The food was delicious and came in good time (we were told when we ordered that the pie was going to be 20 minutes and asked if we were ok to wait). I thought this was a really good touch as we weren't forced to wait longer than anticipated so 10/10 for that. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area, especially if you have a dog you don't like to leave at home, like us!

When you need somewhere to stay in Longridge you MUST give this a try. AMAZING apartments, super clean, very tastefully furbished, extremely comfortable and the hospitality throughout the whole place, in the bar, dining and accommodation, is second to none. Really can't praise this place enough.

Loved the interior design; stylish, retro, classy and cosy. Lots of atmosphere, great service by our lovely friendly waitress and excellent food. Would have been 5 stars only the main course was quite small.

The staff were great, took time to go through the menu with us, pointing out specials, the food was lovely and great value for money. The décor was very tasteful and the loos were spotless, loved the quirky hand mirror on the backs of the doors and the use of old gin bottles as soap pumps.

Good ambience, fabulous view, nice decor and cheerful staff -a good start on a cold wet and windy lunchtime. My friend and I hadn't been before and we will be returning.

I don't normally go for Roast Beef dinner but weirdly had a craving for one and it absolutely blew me away. It was completely to die for. My fish starter and choc torte dessert was also absolutely divine. 100% recommend.

We were in Longridge on Friday 8th February just browsing around the shops, at 1pm we came across "The Dog Inn" so we dropped in for some lunch, I ordered the Moules Marinieres with a piece of ciabatta bread my Wife ordered the Caesar Salad with Chicken, mine was ok, the Caesar was disappointing as rather than using Chicken Breast the chef used Chicken Thigh which meant the Chicken was "chewy" overall a poorly made and presented dish! The reason for a three star rating was due to the good service otherwise it would have been a two representing "poor"

We have been here numerous times now and have always found the food amazing and tasty! We always have the fish and chips and have not been disappointed so far. The staff are excellent and very attentive which makes such a difference. Would highly recommend!!

A BRILLIANT NIGHT A really good, well thoughtout menu also some really good different vegetarian choices, I ordered the celeriac soup with lancashire cheese crouton and the Hake for mains both were superb! Not been here for years so we went with friends? It was booked weeks prior upon arriving we was seated at the front on a table for 6 people passing to toilet and as there was only 4 of us couldn’t hear any form of conversation as we was so far apart? On the food? Chose the pie it was ok but the puff pastry lid was so flat it disappeared when I cut into it? No veg in the price which is rare more so at £12.50 a few chips ! WAs going to have prawn curry but at £17.50 a pop no way it was a noisy busy pub! There was a big party and a singer on? Wish they had told us this as would have gone somewhere else!

Had a lovely meal at the Dog Inn food very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff were also most hospitabal and very friendly and professional the two staff being Steph and Liv thank you for making our meal special.

Called in for lunch as they are dog friendly. We were not disappointed, they welcomed our dog with water and treats and we could sit anywhere as it was a flagged floor.The pub is warm and welcoming with lovely fires alight and a big Christmas tree. The front of the pub overlooks the high street but the back has fabulous views of the Ribble valley with large windows and an outside seating area for warmer days. The menu is varied and all home cooked and delicious although you do have to wait. Reasonably priced too. The service was excellent and friendly. Will definitely call back when in the area.

We had a very enjoyable meal on Saturday night. Food was good but what made it great was the staff.I Would like to say a special thank you to Steph who attended to our every need during the meal and drinks afterwards, even though they were clearly very busy. Looking forward to next booking.
