If you are going to have a cocktail, get the special, it’s called chambord and it’s a rum cocktail. I love rum, I loved this

Lovely food and a great seating area outside if you're with pets. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

The food was tasty and seemed to be of decent quality. I recommend the Gyros and the sharer bread with Alioli and Olives, drinks are probably slightly over priced. Overall and nice evening.

All good, shame about the closing time (9.30pm). On the other hand, the climate makes you understand why.

Had a lovely lunch here. Service was a bit on the slow side in all honesty. Food was good though.

Great food and lots of it, to be honest, first time I've ever struggled to clear my plate. Service was very good and quick. The only criticism I had, was that our table for two was very close to the bar and everyone was constantly walking past our table. In my opinion not the best of places for a table.

Great Sunday dinner. Normally stay away from beef as it can be disappointing, but my goodness me, it was incredible! The beef melted in my mouth!The whole dinner was super. I can’t wait to come again x reasonably priced and great atmosphere x

Very expensive for what you got.

I stopped off for a bite to eat whilst on a bike ride in the locality. The pub itself is located on the NCN Route 6 so ideal for cyclists and walkers alike. I found the prices to be reasonable and the food was pretty good.

Visited for lunch and right from the moment we walked in the restaurant our experience was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful making our experience enjoyable. As for the food it was delicious everyone had a very tasty meal and would certainly be happy to visit again when we are in the area.

I've literally been here two days in a row, so that says how delicious the food is!!!! The staff were fantastic with service, nothing was too much trouble. A mistake was made and rectified within minutes. The toilets are clean and checked efficiently. The outside seating area and the green views are very pleasant. Great chilled setting, we were here for 3 and a half hours....couldn't believe it. Money Well Spent!! This is absolutely the best pub in Warsop AND surrounding areas. I recommend!!!!!

Very poor customer service. Will not be returning… we called to check they served food outside and to check If they had any tables before we arrived as we wanted to take our dog, their response was yes food served outside and plenty of tables its not very busy. We turned up 10 mins later, there where plenty of tables, but when we went to order food, they said sorry you cant order food for another 30 mins as we have a table of 29 in the restaurant. So we patiently waited, went to order food at 6pm, response was no you cant order food until 6:30, i said we were told 6pm 30mins ago. Their response was theres nothing i can do (no appology)… i then asked another member of staff to check food would definately be available at 6:30 yes definately, went back at 6:30 and was told we still cant order food until later. I saw numerous people leave. (If you cant cope with a large table of guests in the restaurant dont book large tables in!) or dont offer food service outside. We will never return.

Top end prices for lower end service, used glasses not removed from the table, 100% convinced the Stilton sauce was a beef sauce (not my sauce but tasted it) beer as flat as witches chest, water either had lemon and ice, ice or just water, the steak was as ordered and the starters average but over priced, over £100 paid for 2 meals, would have been disappointed at £65-£70, you live and learn.

Only ordered a pint of Moretti and half of cider. We sat outside in the cubicles which are a brilliant idea. Everything was spot on.

Very disappointing food. Vegetables in particular were overcooked: grey broccoli and watery cauliflower. The whole dish, which could have been great, was uninspired and poorly executed. Won’t be returning.

Lively decor of the pub. Service was extremely slow to say the place wasn't busy. Food was nice.

Great place. We were a large group of adults and teenagers, and the staff could not have done more to accommodate us. They were attentive and friendly and keen to have a laugh and joke. It really does make a difference. Need to give a special mention to Kerry she was great with us. Food was really good. The sharing nachos were top notch and didn't go soggy at all like so many can. Roast chicken was nice and there waa plenty of it. Cocktails were nice and affordable. Shame it's a bit far away or would come a lot more often. Great job to all involved.

Popped in at the end of a camping weekend. The beef Sunday roast was absolutely fantastic, really tasty and a good amount too. We had to eat outside as we had the dig with us and the weather wasn't great, so wasn't the most comfortable experience out there but was worth it

First note on a positive, the Guinness I had was delicious, however after spending £30+ for a meal, drink and dessert- that was the ONLY thing that was nice. I ordered the roast beef as I don’t like mash I was able to swap for another roast pudding which was great. However on arrival I was disgusted and disappointed, my roast puddings were ROCK hard, my beef was tasteless and I wasn’t given any stuffing on plate and I had to ask for cranberry sauce which on the menu said came with my meal. I asked for replacement roast puddings and they were less burnt but still rock hard. Needless to say it was the worst roast dinner I’ve ever had. I ordered a dessert as I was starving and I couldn’t finish my in edible roast dinner, that was ok. My friends ordered the pizza and we were all starving but they couldn’t finish their meals due to the lack of taste in the food. We ordered around 5ish and I can only assume whoever was in the kitchen was not a cook. Or the roast dinner had been made around 12 and left out until it was served to me I hate being negative but I can say staff were alright and attentive. This place has a lot of good reviews but unfortunately my experience was a disappointment and a waste of money.

We had a superb meal. The food was excellent and Kerry, our server was really nice and friendly. She was very good in helping with the menu and showed a great sense of humour. It was very busy initially but was a little quieter later. We will be back soon. PS the Sea Bass was delicious.

I visited here with a large group (9 adults and 5 children) and we really enjoyed it. We booked in advance and preordered, but the food took 90 minutes to arrive which wasn't great. That said, the food and service was excellent so I'd definitely recommend a visit.

Heard a lot about the Dog & Duck so thought it was time to try this place out with the family. Looking by the menu, it seemed on the expensive side, so I was expecting quality food. Their was nothing on the starters that took any of our fancy so we opted for the while we wait nachos, Wow.. what an amazing start, not just a bowel of nachos but a huge board full, loaded with cheese and chilli beef. This was plenty for us to all dip into. What a good start. Next up was mains, 2 x beef blades, 1 x rack of sticky ribs and 1 x lamb. The plating looked beautiful and inviting for all the dishes. The beef was the biggest cut and so tender. Perfect 10 out of 10 Our daughter the fussy eater who normally has chicken nuggets 24/7 surprised us when she opted for ribs. The best meat she has ever had was her comments, she got right stuck in and licked her fingers clean. Another 10 out 10 Our other daughter chose the lamb. She is actually a chef herself so she criticises everything. The lamb cuts to be fair was small and her plate looked miniscule in comparison to everyone else. The lamb was not the greatest, slightly tough, and fatty However she still gave this 7 /10 so from a chef pretty decent I think. Surprisingly we had room for desert. We all opted for cookie dough a mix of chocolate, toffee and strawberries. Oh yes.. just what you want, something naughty and delicious and that is exactly what it was. With a few pints, a short, cocktails and soft drinks the bill came to £164 Was it worth it.. absolutely, I paid £180 leaving the rest as a tip and would have happily paid more. Will I go back... yes... I'm already planning on the next visit.

Moved here 2 years ago it used to be amazing went after work had drinks chatted to the bartenders Went a few weeks ago it's disgraceful the place is filthy the staff are rude as ever the glasses was disgusting they didn't have any ingredients to make cocktails yet still offers them we went for my bday dinner everything was stone cold and awful then again on mother's day I will NEVER be going back ever stay away if I was you you'd be better at Macdonald's than here

Amazing pub, staff, food, service made to feel at home despite being in my walking gear and pretty windswept. The highlight was the belly pork bon bon and the sweet chilli popcorn halloumi

SECOND REVIEW (nearly 2 years have gone by) This pub has gone right down hill since my last review below. There has been several new "management" and a lot of staff charges. The food has gone down in quality. You will not find the great food and friendly service you once would have at the Dog and Duck. The customer service is diabolical. The food is below a standard you would expect at a service station. The pub it's self is filthy dirty. The glasses are dirty. I came in a couple of hours after opening today and the floors were disgusting. This pub could have been a wonderful addition to our village. Unfortunately, when it is left in the hands of amateurs this is the result. FIRST REVIEW This little restaurant is a stone's throw away from my house. The food is amazing, the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. The staff are what makes this place so wonderful

Few days away in Sherwood Forest and found this little gem! Popped in for a pint at lunch time for light bite during a walk... nice selection of beers and fish platter was amazing! Second visit for dinner with friends on our last night and was fantastic food again.

Whilst the food was very tasty the choice was very poor. There was a Sunday only menu, rather than the usual one and yet, there were no pizzas available at all and no roast beef or sea bass left. The vegetarian member of our party had a choice of only fish & chips or butternut squash wellington. Certainly not of the standard we have experienced on previous visits.

Food was great. Portions are on the smaller side.

We came out for a family meal as a family of 8, six meals came out all together and we were waiting for 2, we went and asked how long the last two meals would be and the told us a 45 minute wait, even though we all ordered at the same time. the waitress Holly came over and was rude and spoke to us with attitude and then proceeded to role her eyes at us. The food eventually came out after all six of us had finished eating and one meal was missing meat after paying for it. It the came out and was very bland and had no taste whatsoever. All they said was they couldn’t do anything. They offered to cook a whole new meal that took 45 minutes to come. The portions were too small and the prices were extortionate and the food came out cold. We all left hungry. Won’t be returning

Really lovely food, we came here twice whilst staying at sherwood Forest holidays. Both times, the food was perfect.

Dog & Duck Clipstone ordered the homemade steak & ale pie , creamy mash and mushy peas ,wow hit them taste buds did this the young lady that served us ,what a breath of fresh air, absolutely brilliant 5 stars all round thank you

Love the D& D. Food gorgeous, always, and staff lovely, always. I always feel for the staff because there is never enough of them; running round, long queues, and I just feel when it's busy they need more staff. It's not an isolated incident. It's also not great fun to wait 20 mins to be served in a massive queue around Seated tables trying to eat Sunday.dinner with their families. I don't normally leave a poor review but this happens all the time when its sunny. Will defo avoid in future on nice days.

Update 20/3/22 Food good and service very good.

The dog and duck is one of my locals. Love popping in with the kids and always enjoy the food/atmosphere. Although we called yesterday and took a seat outside so the children could play. I asked inside to order some food for our children to my disgust was told “we are prioritising people inside who have booked.” This was absolutely fine so we waited another hour. I asked again, still not serving outside. It then got to two hours we had waited and to my disgust I seen other people being served outside. Discussed this with the management (I’m assuming) on that day and he couldn’t give me a reason as to why this had happened. What annoyed me the most is we met friends there as it was my birthday. So we spent over £150 on drinks and ice cream but was refused food. Extremely disappointed.

Was ok no crackling on Sunday pork only 4 pigs in blanket, not that warm dinner just ok gravy not very thick running..

Absolutely 👌 was recommended this place by someone. The place is set in a very nice building and the Sunday roasts were amazing. Can’t wait to go back for a midweek dinner.

We turned up for lunch as this was shown as 'dogfriendly' on the Google search. The notice at the door said dogs were only allowed outside. We are now inside the more dog friendly Rose Cottage instead.

Called in here with the family after a trip to sherewood pines. Nice place with outdoor seating and decent size car park. Nice selection of drinks and the fresh cooked pizzas are great 👍

Update April24.. Another totally enjoyable meal. Spot on! Dec22.. I feel guilty that I've not been here for a long time. Visited for my Birthday lunch and loved the ambiance with wood smoke you can just ignore as it just draws you in. We got a seat by the fire which warmed your back.. Staff were happy to help and chat too. Clearly in control and relaxed. (it was early). The menu choice was nice and you are free to choose from the Christmas or main menus, we nixed it up. Korean wings were brilliant, the salmon prawn cocktail looked great and the calamari is just brilliant! Mains... Blade of beef was as soft as... Awesome. We also went for the turkey roulade which was complimented by the usual Christmas dinner additions.. Full full full, didn't get to the sweet menu. Pricing... For the quality, it's worth it. Consider it a treat if you normally don't spend £18-£25 on a main. In my opinion, it's a treat worth going for. Oh, I'm going back for sweet!!

The food was amazing. It was fabulous when we came last time but this time it was even better. Each separate item on the plate was cooked to perfection. The sweets were delicious too. Excellent value for money for the standard of food we were served.

Just had a Sunday dinner here. I must say been trying local sunday dinners around the local area for some time. This dinner has just gone straight to the top of my list absolutely beautiful. Will definitely be back.

2024 - wow, really gone down hill hasn't it. If I wanted McDonald's chips I'd drive down the road, how much rocket are you putting on top of the meal? Real dissapointment. Edit 2022 2 steaks 2 puddings and 2 cocktails for £80 well worth it, cooked perfectly and the honeycomb cheese cake WOW you can tell its homemade. 2019- 3 2 course meals and 3 drinks all for £60 amazing food, friendly staff.

We dropped in just on our way through from Edwinstowe, the food was amazing especially the beef shoulder which just fell apart and was tender. Nothing was too much trouble for the very friendly staff, speedy service as well, we will be returning

Went here for Mothers day for 12:15 booking. Staff were not accommodating. Some food had hair in it, was given wrong food, roast dinners were cold, menus not clear and some other food did not even materialise despite being ordered. Refused to eat the food that arrived and left paying a £100+ bill for a terrible experience. Was not even busy at that time Will not recommend or ever go back.

Had Mothers Day menu. Roast beef dinner exceptional. Staff helpful and friendly. I’ve not been here for a while but will be returning and recommending to friends.

First visit, welcoming staff, good service and food at a competitive price. Altogether a good experience in good Surroundings.

The food that was brought out wasn't as listed on the menu. My wife's seabass was swimming in what seemed like tinned tomatoes. My dessert was chocolate torte which was supposed to be warm but was frozen on the bottom and should have had a blackberry compote, but when I asked the waiter where it was, he brought some mixed berries which wasn't a compote. Wife's desert was missing passion fruit part. Not good at all!!!

Very unwelcome.... Didn't even try to accommodate the group I was with. Very Very disappointed with their menu and service.... We even offered to sit outside and that seemed like an obstacle. Not friendly towards people of colour AT ALL!!!!

If you want quality food, then this is the place to go. We have been several times recently and really like it. Our recent visit was on Valentines Day. Unfortunately, we went slightly too early for the Valentines menu. However, the menu is very varied. The fillet steak and stilton sauce were amazing and perfectly cooked. I don't usually have a starter as the meals are ample. Their bread starter is delicious, though, but I wanted the Berry Eton mess, which was fantastic. The waitress, Anya, was very attentive and made sure our evening was excellent. She made sure that the chef and other staff were informed of my severe allergies at every level throughout the evening and were even stated on the receipt. The Dog and Duck is a lovely place to go for food and refreshments (both soft and alcohol). It's ideal for all occasions with family, friends, and children as all ages are catered for. There's an ample car park with steps and a ramp ,enabling wheelchair users and people with buggies easy access. There are double doors at the entrance and various areas to sit inside (including sheltered seating outside. There are paths that you can go for walks along them return for refreshments or/food.

On the 28th January 2024 I was treated to a surprise 80th birthday party arranged by my family at the dog & Duck the food and service received was excellent and made my birthday surprise even more special.highly recommended

Beautiful place, The service was great very quick and friendly, and the food was amazing so many flavours and large portions only criticism was that I didn't have room for desert 😊

Right from the start the orders were wrong. 2 of us ordered still water but it was sparkling none had lemon slice and straw as requested. The starters were nice when the finally arrived. The main course was awful. Three of us ordered the rump steak strips with salt and pepper chips and salad. We had to ask how much longer we'd got to wait. It finally arrived, everything was cold, the steak was nowhere near pink as requested and the flat bread was inedible. They did knock the main course down by half. We ordered tea and coffee which didn't arrive so we told another waiter to forget it, the comment he made clearly showed the drinks hadn't even been ordered. We were very disappointed to say the least. We won't be back.

Good friendly staff and excellent food.

Lovely place to go and have a meal. The food was reall really well cooked and the presentation was fantastic. The atmosphere was great and we had a cosy table next to the fire place. Lovely

Excellent food and service. Prices are higher than other places but we all agreed that it's worth it for the quality. I had the best Steak and Ale pie, mash vegetables and gravy I have had for many years. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

We booked a table Saturday at 7pm we were shown to our table on arrival, drinks were served and the wine list produced. Within 10 minutes we had chosen our menu. The starters were king prawn, mussels and were copious and hot deliciousness. The mains were served after a short wait they looked and tasted beautiful. All in all gorgeous food cooked perfect by a professional not ,microwaved fast food. Staff were polite, nonintrusive and quick. Great little gem, been here a few tines over 2023 a day the food/ service hasn't disappointed.

Waited1hour &30 mins for order, paid £18 for one small dry over cooked sea bass with sauce that was just a tin of tomatoes had to ask why desserts were taking so long, my granddaughter had to cut the sticky toffee pudding with a knife it was hard & dry...... The only excuse I could give them was, it was new years day.

Food was very well cooked and served with a smile. We hadn't been to the Dog and Duck in ages and everything was much better than the last time. If it's this good every time, we won't leave it so long until our next visit.

Food really is good here, but it’s so slow to come out. Nearly 2 hours before our food came out. We were early getting there, so accepted it might be a while, but didn’t expect it to be so long. Staff are lovely, food is amazing - just be prepared not to be in and out very fast!

It’s a shame, that the Dog and Duck have lost the love to provide the value of the cost that they charge. 6 months ago the blade of beef came with a rich red wine gravy, not a serving of bookers basic pre mix gravy, it takes a 8/10 meal to a 4/10 meal. By no means am I a snob, nor a food critic, but there’s a difference between gastro pub and pub grub, and the Dog and Duck have definitely lost the love for decent dining in the last few months.

Very busy, took long time for food to arrive but it was good food and worth the wait. Lovely atmosphere. Dogs not allowed inside. Would go again.

What a wonderful pub! Went here with my family on a very busy Sunday and the member of staff on the entrance tried so hard to find us a table for which we were truly thankful as we were on a trip an hour away from home. The atmosphere was welcoming, cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. All the staff were helpful, pleasant and polite. And the food was fantastic (great selection on the menu as well) with very reasonable prices! It was such a delightful experience eating here and a fantastic vibe. I would most certainly recommend and hope to visit again soon ☺️
