Fish & chips were delicious, the best I’ve tasted in Newark for a long time, big white flakes of tasty fish and the batter was cooked lovely and crispy. Service was spot on, lovely staff. Will defo be coming here again! Thankyou

Seems to have gone downhill here since last I came. Chips overcooked and limp, curry sauce not mu ch flavour and a sausage that was like a sponge finger. Not great Sorry

curry was far to salty I couldn't eat it, Yorkshire fish cake was extremely greasy but the fish and potato were very dry, I ate about a 1/4, I just wasted my hard earned money, hate writing bad reviews but these are the facts

Food was very unpleasant I had a burger and it had no taste and was rather very messy. There was two staff that came up to me they said their names were destiny and ramneet and they was both very rude I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN!!!

Ordered from here a few times now and food always arrives quickly, in some cases less than 15 mins, and is always fresh and hot. Delivery driver is always friendly! - no complaints here!

ABSOULUEY DISSPOINTED WE HAD REMNEET SERVE THE FOOD FOR US AND SHE WAS SHY AND VERY RUDE NO EYE CONTACT. food was disgusting , smelling really fishy and chips were frozen in the middle im not happy got charge £25 for fish and battered sausage X2 with 1 large coke.

Ordered. Chips n curry. £4.20, so expensive anyway. Then I offered card and was told £5+ only Lost a sale of £4.20 for the sake of the cost of a transaction Their choice in that, my choice that I find somewhere else to spend my hard earned money!

Delivery is always quick. Food is good and good value for money. The large chips is a large. Lovely staff, when delivering food always takes a interest. We always order here if getting a chippy tea.

the food got delayed and i’m not satisfied with the food that came at all chips barely warm kebab dripping in grease pizza soggy. the list goes on i’m not happy with the service it looks like the driver took a long slow drive to get it here. very unhappy and would like to realise the issue

once we did receive our order, the lovely lady who delivered it had a selection of ice creams to choose from as the one we ordered was out of stock. very good service.

Arrived piping hot, fish and chips was Devine smothered in curry sauce washed down with cloudy lemonade 😁👍🏽.. delicious!

absolutely awfull the services was so rude to me the food was cold and wet i order a jacket potato and the curry was so wet and runny deffinetley not going to this place again so bad.

The meat was very fatty. I didn't like it at all. Fat was pouring out of the bun.

The chips were a bit overdone and all 3 cheeseburgers were not at all nice. The kids wouldn't eat them after taking their first bite and I had to bin them.... what a waste of money.

Have tried a few chippies in Newark and this is by far my favourite - delicious every time! Their chips are the best. Food is always fresh and hot, well packed, tasty and affordable. Lovely family that runs it too.

The savaloys were unable eatable, over cooked. Looked like they had been microwaved. Wish I could post a picture. They were dark brown. The kebab meat and chips not as nice as previous. If this was our first visit, would not return.

First and unfortunately the last time will order food from this outlet. Fish dry and overdone like it had been in the top heater for quite a while. Chips also old and tough and looked very unappealing and being slightly warm didn’t help. Hopefully this was just a one off but first impressions last.

Really lovely food that was delivered on time. Panini was super big and yummy. If I knew it will be that big I would not order so many things to go with it🤣 chips are very crunchy and nicely cooked. Cod will be left for my supper but looks amazing.

I hate leaving reviews but i feel like i have too i ordered food for me and my partner, everything came and delivery was perfect cant complain on that, i opened the food everything looked good but i started eating my chips and there was a stone in one of my chips which i chewed down on and of course hurt my tooth i then rang up the resturant and the lady on the phone just said well send a new lot of chips and that was that i got the chips i didnt even open them though because i was totally put of all the food after that

Honestly, it was awful . Kebab was OK salad fresh, but The fish and hips were worst ever had Fish and chips were overdone and brown fish inside was off colour due to oil being old Chips were like cardboard . Never again . And they were recommended. Was shocked £33 wasted

The food was very tasty (doner kebab) and we enjoyed it. However, because of the late delivery we had to reheat the food. We would order again though as I’m sure it was a one off due to Friday peak time.

Absolutely beautiful food! Arrived on time and piping hot. Chips were gorgeous and golden brown, mini fish was lovely with crispy batter. The chicken and spam burger is to die for. Cannot recommend enough, we all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Hawty Chippy! Hawty Chippy! The greatest fish and chips in history ! How you do it is a mystery But even though it was on delivery Everything was really crispy Except the peas Which were You know Just mushy.

It was the first time I ever went to a fish and chips shop, a very friendly couple runs the place. Food was fresh and hot. They sure the packaging was right as I had to travel far. Will definitely visit again if I am in the area!

I rarely leave food but left almost all my chips and battled through the small cod. Now walking to newsagents as hungry after leaving most of food. I may have just been unlucky but it was woeful at best.

Made the mistake of ordering from cas***gate 2 weeks ago and they were over 90 minutes late with no apology and the food was inedible. So ordering again from Hawtonville is a welcome relief.. Great food, hot, on time and tasty.
