The Dog and Doublet in Wolverhampton

Dropped in here before a gig at the Halls with my sister. Excellent barmen, nice crowd, every song you love comes on like magic ;-). After party even better, dance with like minded music lovers. They take requests...i had several. Only forgot to put on World Party by World Party (next time eh)....much underrated song on an underrated album, Private Revolution. Look forward to returning guys, this is how pubs should be👏

Just been in for the first and last time! 90 minutes before kick off and it's half empty! I got served straight away as no one else at the bar. Plenty of real ale pumps but none with beer. Toilets best avoided.

Over priced compared to other bars in the town, especially considering the smell, it reminded me of REALLY bad bo but someone else we spoke too compared it to rotting mould. The lady we shared a table with found herself locked in the toilet until my wife went in and helped her out. The 12yr old looking glass collector was also a little off putting. The music was good, and bar area and tables clean and tidy BUT what was that odor? Revisited last night 10/05/24 no hint of any smell, was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up 2100-2200hrs. There was a live band on which were ok, the bar staff were efficient given how busy it was.

Great atmosphere and good selection of drinks. Only been in here a couple of times, but had a great night both times.

One of the best pubs in wolves, it's been closed for a few years but now all the new team are doing a fantastic job and couldn't do more to make you feel more welcome. Although they don't have a food menu, they are always putting on food, like hot baps on a match day and it's always fresh a delicious.

Fun night out, good live music and cracking atmosphere for such a small venue. Think the Cavern, but for the good folk of Wolverhampton.

Warning .... this place has closed down. We booked back in January 2023 and when we arrived it was boarded up. Only found out it had closed from neighbours. Not the dog and doublets fault as was booked through agency but need to warn others just incase.

Grungy Wolverhampton venue often with live bands.... Worth a visit.

Always great service. As fast service as you can expect on a match day. Good drinks. Pay by card is best as sometimes they don't take cash.

It was good the staff very friendly and the beer was spot on. The knock I have is the weirdo standing at the staring at everyone who got served by the very polite blonde lady. They might be a couple but I would tell him go home as it is a big turn off of the place seeing very jealous and inscure boy making everyone uncomfortable.

My usual haunt before Wolves games, can get busy, but always some good real ales on offer, and a great atmosphere.

The Dog & Doublet is back. New ownership and, for a beer drinker like me, 8(!) cask ales - a few of those real treasures - means I'll be coming back. The focus has shifted back to good beer and live music which were always D&D's strong points. Has also benefited from a refurbishment with new signage outside too. Walking past, it just looks so welcoming. Good work by the new team.

I always have a good night here! Staff friendly. Clean and presentable. Also live bands! What more could you want

Great bar,poor service on the night I visited,not enough staff

I love this pub. The only negative thing I can say is that something needs to be done about the double doors to the outside smoking area. The cold freexing draught through those doors is horrific. People do not close those doors after going through them . I had to cover my legs with my coat to get any kind of comfort.

Always make the effort to put a good mix of live music on . Tries to offer real/craft ales to many blonde ones. Toilets need sorting ! In recent months the venue has had money spent to improve the facilities.

Good range of spirits and the music is decent on the weekends.

Nice pub, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Never seems to be many people in other than a Friday and Saturday night though.

Probably the friendliest bar in town .. great relaxed atmosphere and the bar staff I have met there are really lovely.. you can walk in by yourself and be treated with a really warm welcome and a smile and have a chat with the bar staff without feeling awkward at all. My "go to" in wolverhampton

Aspirations of being a real ale bar but the beer is not well kept which is a shame as the venue is comfortable and quirky.

Very disappointed in this place!£5 plus for a pint and a half of real ale is too much!It was at least a pound cheaper last time we visited!! no wonder it was empty!Not impressed! Won't be back it's a shame used to love it here!

One of the best bars in Wolverhampton for atmosphere. Has a huge selection of drinks - particularly gin and whiskey if thats your thing. Had an open Mic night on Thursdays after 9 that's always entertaining and gets crazy busy on match days. Fair warning; it can be a bit quiet in the place when music isn't on.

We have performed here on a Thursday for the open mic run by Jade. Have to say, fab night and service. Would recommend all acoustic acts to come down on a Thursday night! 😊

A great night out, pretty much any day of the week. Cheap beer and good music, especially on Saturday’s which is indie rock and roll until the early hours.

A cozy old school bar featuring cocktails and live music

We don't go out so often now as we are beyond the age of passing for cool 😂 (maybe me, more than my wife). When we do go out though we often head here. Decent beer selection and cocktails outside if the weather is decent.

Quality pub. Highly recommended.

Very lively atmosphere. A good mixture of people. Has a disco on weekends, playing a good selection of music from across the decades . Live music occasionally. Good choice of drinks including real ales.

Excellent variety of beer. Friendly staff. I only tend to go in of a lunchtime, so it is quiet, but they have live music of a weekend.
