Planeta diferente.

Had a day trip to London yesterday and thought we would treat ourselves to a spot of lunch at Harrods. We chose to eat at The Disney Cafe as it looked unique, was quiet at the time and also looked very clean. I asked for a gluten free menu and was told that they didn't have one but they could make the food gluten free if I wanted. Whilst looking at the menu I decided to go for the steak and chips and the waiter came over with the allergen list and it stated that the steak and chips were gluten free however there was an asterisk by the chips which meant that it could possibly contain nuts, which wasn't a problem as I have no allergy to nuts. We both ordered the steak as medium rare and 2 minutes after placing our order a man came over who appeared to be management as he was dressed differently to the other staff. He told me that they could not guarantee that the chips would be gluten free and I thought he meant that because there was gluten in the kitchen there would be a small chance of cross contamination. I asked if the chips were cooked in a separate fryer and he replied no, they weren't and were cooked in the same fryer as the chicken nuggets which do contain gluten. I told him that I wasn't going to risk it and he offered to change the chips for seasonal veg which I was fine with. Once the meals came out, one of the steaks was medium well rather than medium rare and when I started to eat my steak, it was cold so I asked to have mine recooked. Management came out with a fresh plate after about 5 minutes.Overall we were extremely disappointed with the meals. I also found it incredibly wrong that I was told they couldn't guarantee that the chips wouldn't be gluten free even though they knew it was cooked with food that does contain gluten. They should of just been honest from the start and said no, they aren't gluten free. The allergen list also needs to be updated as when I read the list, it only stated that they might contain nuts. Then to add insult to injury, they also added on an optional service charge which we refused to pay as not only was it extremely pricey (which we knew it would be when arriving) the service was bad and my first meal wasn't up to good standards. Overall, we were both disappointed with the whole experience at The Disney Cafe which was something we weren't expecting when having lunch at Harrods. I highly doubt my partner and I will return.

I had visited last summer and, whilst a bit expensive, the experience had been a positive one. This year, however, the Harrods Disney Cafe has been re-themed with a purely Toy Story theme. Sadly this means that the Big Ben clock face with Tinkerbell which had been a focal point has been removed and the overall experience was not a positive one.We arrived at about 5.45pm. There were hardly any customers so getting a table wasn't a problem. When we were given the menu, however, I was shocked to find that there was no vegetarian main course. I asked the waiter and he confirmed that I was correct - there was fish but that's no good for a vegetarian! I was told I could have the chicken salad without the chicken - a bit pointless and, as no discount on the price was offered, I wasn't about to pay £14 for half a salad! In the end I opted for the nachos starter as my main course. My 8 year old son chose the hot dog, which was beautifully presented and, he tells me, very tasty. For dessert he ordered two scoops of lemon sorbet. The waiter brought him mango by mistake but rectified this without quibbling. The sorbet was nice but nothing special so the £7.50 price tag seemed somewhat excessive. Overall the cost for one adult starter, two soft drinks, a hot dog main course and one dessert came to over £40 - really not worth it.When I visited before the chairs had Mickey Mouse ears on their backs, the plates were Disney and I even had a Mickey Mouse silhouette made in paprika on top of my crepe but none of this was in evidence on this visit. The decor is nice so my advice is save up and drop in during the afternoon for a drink but don't bother with the food!

Visited yesterday as we were in Harrods looking for something family friendly. The appearance of the restaurant was appealing to my daughter who was very happy to run around and play with the Toy Story Wild West themed games etc. However, the service, food and price really let the place down. Took about 20 mins to get a table even though it was half empty, and then about half an hour to get the attention of someone to take our order. When the food came about 40 mins later it was Lukewarm and certainly not good value for money. A basic burger was £17.50, you'd be much better going to McDonald's where you could feed your family for the same price and the food would be much better. At McDonald's hey don't charge you £4.50 for 330ml of Coke or £5.50 for orange juice. If you're happy spending that much on lunch go to the Ritz!

Food came quickly and staff were lovely. We just had a main meal and wasn't too expensive but drinks were crazy expensive. My mum paid £5.50 for a small glass of apple juice! Service charge was added but we took that off so we could leave a tip we thought was appropriate. Not the £12 they added!

Went as a summer holiday treat. Harrods itself is wonderful, so we thought we would spoil ourselves and eat in the Disney restaurant. The mains for kids are £7.50 - which is fine for quality but what came out was a cheap pizza badly cooked, processed sides and the worst chips I have ever had anywhere. Described as "Chunky Chips" and at 5.95 for a small bucket they were absolutely revolting. Thin, cheap, greasy and limp. As far away from a potato as I have ever seen. The adults Disney burger at whopping £17.95 must have used just 50p of ingredients and a microwave. Truly nasty.Any with a charge of over £4 for a small bottle of coke and 12.5% service charge this is a restaurant to be avoided. Decor is child like although not well put together and staff polite but does not compensate for how bad this restaurant is. Honestly I wish I had read Trip Advisor before I went and saved myself £100.

I have visited this cafe numerous times before and we've always really enjoyed the food and the fun features. When we arrived for this visit the whole place has changed to a toy story cafe rather than Disney this did not bother us as it still looked like great fun.We were seated quickly and my daughter and her friend went off to have a look around me and my mum were very disappointed in the new menu. The old one had lots more variety like sandwiches etc this one has burgers, ribs, hot dogs, nachos My daughter wanted pasta like she always has when we go there and I was surprised there was not one pasta dish on the children's (or adults) menu any more. For a restaurant based on children this is ridiculous as most children I know all have pasta when we go out.The children's hot dogs are £10Plus £5.95 for chips and another £5 for a small apple juice!!! Me and my mum had a burger each I had a coke and she had a bottle of sparkling waterThe kids had 1 scoop of ice cream each at the end.The bill came to £130!!!!! Listen we are not mean and I know this is Harrods but for what we had this was outrageous!!! I do not know where they get off thinking they can charge that money for 2 burgers and 2 children's hot dogs!I have been to top west end restaurant has alcohol to and it's not come to that! Any way it's safe to say we would be visiting again, I understand things have to change but they really need to re think the menu and it's prices!! The staff were attentive and very (if too) polite. That's the one star coveredNow the bad bitI wasn't shocked by the prices on the menu as we were in Harrods, however Harrods is a marque of quality which was missing from the very basic food, but at least basic food can be cooked well - this wasn't. No flavours, no obvious care and highly unsatisfactory. The bill for 1 course of 3 adults and 1 child was over £100 and that was with 4 soft drinks and a water. I am giving this café a 2 star only because of the perfect service you'd expect from Harrods. The food was probably the worst I've ever had. We were a family of 4 (2 children) and a family friend. The "Cesar Salad" came without the signature dressing (or any dressing) you'd expect from the Cesar Salad. There were huge chanks of boilt chicken didn't do it for me. My husband had a rib-eye stake, which was flat as a pancake and also cold. The children got the fish-fingers, which were horribly strongly smelling of garlic, probably to disguise the smell of a not very fresh fish. What a disappointment! We paid around 80 quid and left hungry and had to go and get something else to eat. We were vising London and expected so much from this lunch, but alas!

Family is a big fan Disney & the Toy Story brand.Sat down at the table to order our meal and was horrified to see the pricing on the menu. How can they justify soft drinks ( out of the bottles ) charged at double the price of any other outlet. Upon closer inspection it would appear that everything on the menu was a minimum 100% mark up on other capital pricing. I could accept you'd be paying little more for its location within Harrods and the Disney brand but this is ridiculous. To add insult when you are presented with your bill they automatically add 12.5% service ( for what in our case was taking opening 3 bottles of pop ) - Needless to say we asked for this to be removed ( which they did with out question )

My wife, son and I had essentially a glorified fish finger butty a bowl of chips with a bit of simple salad each with a drink and it cost us £78. In fairness it probably was the best fish finger sandwich I have ever had but that is all that it was - a brioche bun with 3 fish goujons and a bit of tartare sauce and some roquette leaves. The menu is very limited and the cafe is quite noisy although my son was given a small gift which was a nice touch. The waiter was a little over attentive though which was a bit irritating. We looked at the adults menu and was kind of disappointed that nothing was Mickey shaped, so we asked if it was possible to order a few things from the children's menu. The waitress told us she was unsure and had to ask the manager, she came back and said it was not possible. I would understand if it's a normal restaurant but this is a disney one, disney is known for going the extra mile to make your experience magical. The restaurant wasn't too busy but we ended up waiting a long time to be served and also to get are bill. I took my two sons last Sunday and whilst the café is decorated really nicely that's about where the Disney feeling ends. Having been to Florida last year and staying on Disney property I assumed that this would follow a similar suit. TOTALLY WRONG!!!! I ordered two mickey pizzas for the boys and assumed that they would be Mickey Mouse shaped, wrong again. To be honest they were just small unshapen roundish pizzas that looked like they had been thrown on the floor. I had the Fish Goujons and whilst this was nice considering we were the second group of people in there when they opened at lunch time I wouldn't expect it to be semi warm (bordering on cold). The staff were friendly enough but you could tell that these were Harrods employees and not Disney. Money wasn't an issue but spending 50.00 on lunch for two children and myself including the 12.5% I would expect better. All in all I think if someone from Disney went and actually experienced what it is like they would pull the endorsement as it represents the brand really badly.

Words fail meOn arrival the place was heaving being Christmas EveAfter seeing a terrible Father Christmas we were hopeful of dinner at Disney well the seating arrangements were no short of terrible and and the manager seating us could not have openly hatted his job anymore than he showed felt extremely unwelcome,The food was awful dried and a roast turkey but no roast potatoes? No cranberry sauce? No gravy? I mean was awful.... Puddings again awful just chocolate and when I asked if they had cream was told no just custard?.... I will do everything I can next year to make sure no one else wastes money going here...

Such a let down..table booked for 7pm so came straight after the harrods Christmas grotto..First had to ask for buggy to come through as baby was going to have milk then go sleep..we ended up moving table as manager (not waiter) purposely put us on one near where people were sitting and would of had to move their table out of way to get us through ! Had to go 5mins away to wash our hands as no toilets near by (this is a kids restaurant!!) drinks for adults are small and come in plastic glasses..food was ok but felt we were being watched over as the manager and most staff obviously wanted to finish their working day ! It's meant to be a buffet but we felt rushed for the hour..Also saw people being turned down because they didn't have a reservation, the place was empty ! Had to ask if my children could have the Minnie /Mickey headband ears that the other kids were wearing but least they could keep these..So not worth the price this place..A huge disappointment after a beautiful time at the grotto

Last year, my siblings, our children and the grandparents visited The Disney Cafe after taking the children to see Santa in Harrods. It was fabulous. Slightly pricey, but everyone could order off the menu and the staff were very welcoming and being a party of 10, we were lucky to get a seat at all the place was so busy.We returned yesterday with expectations of another good visit, only this time the cafe was largely empty. When we went to go in, we were advised that the menu had been replaced with a Christmas buffet menu costing Adults (including glass of wine or soft drink): £37.50 & Children’s (including unlimited fruit squash): £25. Ouch!!!! That would have been £365 + any additional drinks (gratuity was included in the price) for our party. Such a shame, given the number of empty tables we saw, looks like most people agree that this is pretty steep. Hopefully you'll be back to your regular menu in 2016 Disney Cafe and back to a busy Cafe. As for us, we found an exceptional Italian over the road, great food, great value, exceptional customer service and amazing with children - Zia Teresa.

The Food this time was buffett style, the girls absolutely loved it and so did we, it was expensive but worth it just for the experience, £125 for four to eat at a disney restaurant is a bit high price wise when two are children, but as i said well worth it for the experience, the food is all fresh cooked in there own kitchens and the food was fantastic, none of this microwave tat you get at many other places, everything was done to make the children feel special, my only criticism is that they should allow the grown ups bigger drinks or at least an additional one as the adult soft drinks are very small, and that the deserts were rather limited compared to everything else they had, so ended up spending another £40 on dessert in the ice-cream bar.

One of the worst dining experiences ever, we visited on New Years Day and can honestly say that the staff could not have been less interested. Food was terrible and they forgot half the order, when prompted the waitress had an argument with the chef over the open plan kitchen area and then the preheated ravioli was dumped on the plate with no care whatsoever. When we tried to raise a complaint we were told the manager would be sent over but he never appeared. Price is astronomical for food that could quite easily be bought in a tin from the local supermarket - avoid at all costs!

I was expecting a lot more from this cafe, given it's a Disney cafe inside Harrods. The cafe has none of the magic that Disney like to project, in fact it was quite lackluster. The food is average cafe fare at a high price, as are the drinks. The staff were not interested when customers arrived and we felt like an annoyance when we were ready to order. This made the experience unpleasant and we couldn't wait to leave. This place could be so much more than it is but sadly, I don't see that happening.

Where's the real life size characters to add some fun for the kids ?!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

The Disney cafe sounds better than what it is. The cafe is a large rectangular cubicle inside Harrods - there are no windows, and it feels a little claustrophobic and is very echoing and noisy. Imagine the family section right at the windowless back of a Wetherspoon and you're almost there, now imagine that so loud that you can't have an easy conversation. There are three screens on the wall furthest from the door which show three different Disney films. That seems a little crude. Compare that with the family section in a Hungry Horse pub where there are TV screens at most tables. There is somewhat less Disney decoration around the room than you might expect. So the ambiance wasn't as good as we had hoped for. But our six year old was happy enough. Though the games on the kids menu are not appropriate - the word searches are too hard, and there's little colouring opportunity. The service was excellent. Faultless. After a short wait by the door after they established the size of our party we were led to a clean table. Every contact by the serving staff was impeccable. They waited just the right amount of time before coming for our order. They adjusted perfectly to one of our party having to leave temporarily, and made sensible suggestions. The food was good quality (as one would expect from Harrods), and quite adventurous. The prices for the food were very good - pretty much what you'd expect in most pubs these days, and given the quality of the food, and the generous portions, this was excellent value for money. The drinks, however, are very expensive. £7 for a beer, and £6 for water. The drinks prices are not listed outside, so it's as well to be aware of this before going inside. The drinks can nearly double the price of the meal. We paid over £100 for a single course lunch for a party of six, and our six year old drank her own water. About half way through the meal our six year old was given a free pair of Minnie Mouse ears. She loved that. It was fairly random, so I'm not sure if this is a regular thing. I noted that around the room some other children also had the ears, as did some adults. But not everyone. There are plus and negative points about the cafe. The food and service are excellent and good value. The drinks are expensive. The ambiance is limited. It's a swings and roundabouts thing.

We visited the Disney Cafe whilst enjoying a 3 day break in London. The staff were miserable & clearly didn't want to be there, not at all what you would expect for a cafe in Harrods. As the waitress brought out my chicken sandwich she mumbled, "sorry about the bread bun". The bun was burnt in one corner & had pieces of cod on the bottom. I sent the sandwich back & they brought me another one. Upon leaving we told the manager how disappointed we were with the whole experience to which he just shrugged his shoulders & said "sorry", he didn't look a bit bothered! I would definitely not recommend this place as it is very overpriced for what you get.

It makes sense having this Disney-themed restaurant in this shopping mecca. Our kids loved being there. The unexplainable thing is that it closes at 7pm! So after a day of sightseeing, we went to Harrod's for a little shopping but figured we should eat first. We arrived at 6:35, only to find out they closed at 7pm! I will say that the waiter was gracious and said it would not be a problem to seat us and serve us, but we still felt rushed. He asked us to place our orders right away before the food staff left. Our orders were taken, but some were messed up, and when an incorrect pizza was brought (close to 7pm) for one of the kids, the waiter said it could not be changed because the kitchen was closed. So yes, we chose to sit down knowing they were closing soon, but the restaurant was still full of parties experiencing the same thing. Seems they should adjust their hours. The food was just ok, and very overpriced for the quality and options. That does come with the address though. Overall the kids liked it because it was Disney-themed and they could sit in the corner and watch Disney movies. I would not eat here again. I guess it would work if it were lunch time and you had to get food in the middle of a marathon shopping session (though I'm not sure who can afford more than a few minutes in Harrod's!), but not so great for a proper dinner.

Ok, it is very expensive for what you get, but this cafe is in Harrods and is Disney branded, so what do people expect?? We went there yesterday for my daughter's 4th birthday and she had a great time. We went into the Disney store in Harrods first and took pictures with all the characters etc. which she loved. The staff in the cafe could not be more attentive. Our daughter had a cheese & ham toasty cut into the shape of Mickey Mouse, which she thought was really cool. She also got given a lovely Cinderella book and a princess tiara. The meal came with crudités. I had the mini hamburgers, my husband had a chicken sandwich. We shared chips. The food was only snack lunch food but it was well made and tasty. With soft drinks the bill was £53, which is an awful lot for lunch but for a birthday lunch it was worth it. You can go to normal cafes in London and pay that for lunch. We enjoyed the experience. Our waitress was so lovely. She even took us to the toilets when we couldn't find them and was so friendly.
