What a gem this place is - food was simple but truly stunning. I had never had scampi as tasty as that - tell you one thing, chef who makes the butter certainly knows his way around the kitchen. Very reasonable price is a cherry on top

I had the crab claws and prawns. The crab lacked in flavour but the prawns are delicious. Good upstairs view of planes landing. Waiters were very nice.

Had the fish and chips. Was just ok. Expected better. Sausage and mash is £17.50!! Friend got seafood chowder which was very good.

Really enjoyed my visit here. Picturesque location on the banks of belfast lough. Recommend booking in advance if seeking a table in the upstairs dining areas with the views, as peak meal times are popular. Good choice of casual dining food options. Cosy bar downstairs s.well as a large outdoor covered area with some ineffective heaters, so wrap up warm if choosing al fresco during the cooler seasons.

My girlfriend and I had our very first date at this restaurant, and now, nearly 5 years later, I decided to contact them with a special request. I wanted to propose to her in the same place where our journey began. The restaurant staff couldn't have been more wonderful, helpful, and accommodating in making this momentous occasion perfect. I cannot emphasize enough how much I recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious, the drinks are superb, and the staff is simply brilliant. Their willingness to go above and beyond to make our engagement unforgettable speaks volumes about their commitment. To the entire team, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You've created lasting memories for us, and we'll forever cherish this place and the love it has witnessed throughout our journey.

What an amazing place. Went for dinner upstairs and then drinks downstairs. The meals are phenomenal, all freshly cooked and full of flavour. The menu has an amazing selection with a great choice of starters and mains, and then deserts. The bar downstairs is cozy and comfortable with a great selection of beers and wines. Outside is a large seating area. Friendly staff and amazing atmosphere.

Such a fun spot right on the water. We enjoyed some good banter with the bartender, who also guided me on a tour of some Irish whiskeys. The food portions were large and we left satisfied and very pleased with the experience. It's an incredibly busy restaurant, so booking ahead is a must. That being said, we only waited 30min for a table.

Beautiful characterful pub overlooking the sea. When you first go in it feel Kim's walking into a cosy little boat, but the place is deceptively spacious with lots of seating upstairs. We went for lunch on a Friday and the atmosphere was brill. We had chowder (seafood and meat) and shared the chicken flatbread. Everything was full of flavour, generous portions and very fresh. Service was wonderful and friendly. Nice mix of clientele. Seating upstairs has brilliant views out of over the sea. Highly recommend!

Food looks nice. We didn't take drink there. But the beer proposal wasn't so nice, and the waitress was rushing... I moved from outside to inside and it was much better!!! Very nice place (inside) 😉

Amazing food and staff recommendations were great. We shared a starter of the crab claws and prawns. Absolutely devine. Surf and turf cooked to perfection and I had the pork belly and calamari. Omg. We have never tried dessert because we are always too full. Maybe next time.

Stopped by here for a spot of lunch while on a walk along the coast. Despite being busy and having no pre booking we were given a table fairly quickly. Enjoyed a Guinness and the Smoked Haddock with creamy Champ and seasonal vegetables was absolutely fantastic. Very reasonably priced, we shall be back.

Group of friends had lunch, all in all a great experience. However I've given this place 5 stars before and it didn't quite make it today. I always get the chicken ceaser and it was different today, the croutons were odd and there were none of the cheese crisps that it always had. I also felt the portion size was smaller than before. It was tasty enough but not what I expected. My friends enjoyed their food but one said the smoker wasn't particularly smoky and the chowder a bit powdery. The gentleman who served us was lovely and friendly but the lady who cleared our plates, quite young, not so much, she wasn't particularly patient and dropped a large knife covered in sauce on my dress with an "oops" but no apology. Its now got a greasy stain. Yes I will eat here again and have given four stars as we normally love the place but today was not 100 percent.

Very busy pub. They're lucky to have such hard-working staff. Lovely surroundings and garden. Food is pretty good bit also pretty forgettable. Toilets are way overcrowded and much too small for such a large pub. Dogs welcome

Really disappointed with this restaurant. Same boring menu that it's had for donkeys years. Standard of food was low and prices sky high. I'll never go back.

Visited the Dirty Duck last Friday afternoon for food and drinks. Was quite busy and told we couldn't sit outside and eat as too many people waiting to order ( one table had menus ) however we could go inside and eat. Basically the outside staff did not want to be any busier obviously not interested in earning additional tips. Our mistake at this stage was not going somewhere else.After a bit of going back and forth we got a table outside. Service can only be described as awful these woman should not be in hospitality. I have worked in hospitality a long time and was embarrassed by how rude one particular member of staff was. I have sent an email and had a response however again the response was very poor. Customer service is not high on their agenda the food is most definitely carrying this establishment however that will not be enough for me to return I will choose to spend my money elsewhere where customers are appreciated and welcomed.

My wife & I stopped off at the Dirty Duck on our travels for dinner, such a beautiful and sunny day we decided to eat outside. What a superb experience, the staff were super warm and friendly. The menu offered so much variety it was difficult to choose, my wife opted for the seafood pasta and I went for the traditional fish & chips. Well I can honestly say I can't remember ever tasting fish & chips so good! Mouth watering flavours of the freshest home made tarter sauce and the freshest and tastiest fish ever! and those chunky chips were absolutely crisp on the outside and so soft on the inside. I was sad I just couldn't finish the portion. My wife raved about the pasta so much too. We can highly recommend the Dirty Duck, We will be back soon

To put it simply…. ….. 🤔 …. No I can’t! We had a most delicious bounteous meal! Served by very friendly pleasant and capable staff! Did I say the food was really very very excellently good! I had the nachos to start (easily enough for two to share but thankfully my wife was “saving herself for the main course”) what a wonderful tasty dish! For mains I had the special and my wife had the monkfish and prawn curry with rice. The steak was cooked perfectly in my sandwich and the homemade chips were just the way I like them! Fortunately there was enough for me to “taste” the curry 😁so I can confirm it was superb!! Sitting looking out over Belfast Lough as the sun went down in the company of my darling wife while enjoying wondrous food was perfect! Thank you The Ugly Duck!

Excellent food and mountains of it (scampi and chips) made it super value for money. We didn’t really like sitting upstairs in the restaurant, it was noisy, cramped and crowded. The perfect lunch would be this food enjoyed outside with a beer…. Fingers crossed for some sunshine!

Was at the dirty duck yesterday for a birthday party we ordered water the waitress who has dark hair brought the water slammed toe glasses down and water I called her back shortly after and asked could we pls have some more and she snapped am doing it now and gave me a dirty look very rude no need I did ask nicely there was one guy who had a beard don't know his name but he was lovely very friendly excellent customer service but that woman was so rude I used to work in catering myself I know it's hard work but being rude is not on

A group of us ate at the Dirty Duck recently. Our visit was faultless from the moment we arrived. Friendly staff who welcomed us and got us positioned at the bar where we were thoroughly entertained by the hilarious bar staff. The food was amazing and really reasonably priced for the area. Everyone’s meal was exceptional, tasty and well presented. Thank you for an amazing experience and we’ll definitely be back again soon.

The food was lovely...the service was very poor. Waitresses were quite rude and abrupt and drinks and cutlery were practically thrown at us.
