The Dinorben Arms in Denbighshire

First time visiting after a long time - they don't seem to be much improved. Order taken at about the point when we were about to walk out! Food arrived just about warm and at about the maximum possible wait time that might be reasonable. They were not busy - to the point of when asked if we had a reservation we could only say was it likely this ghost-town needed reservations? The meal might be best described as adequate pub-grub but definitely not gastro - everything close to nearing indigestion! As to offering their silly little vouchers for meal discounts - they are seriously living in the past - we offered the discount vouchers to some other diners who said they wouldn't be coming back so they would be wasted! I would really love to see this small pub chain succeed but they seem to be always overpriced and lacking in presence. It really saddens me to offer this type of criticism but some people never seem to learn.

Visiting Lleweni Parc for some excellent gliding and enjoyed some thoroughly enjoyable evenings here.

We were stopping at heron lakes retreat and fancied eating out, excellent choice in the Dinorben Arms, all four meals were superb and the waffles and ice cream for desert was stunning the wife said. Great atmosphere, service was prompt and very helpful, nothing to much trouble. Most of all the food was excellent the lamb was 5 star 🌟 food was hot and very tasty 😋 wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Dinorben Arms to anyone. Dog friendly as well

We had a lovely Sunday lunch for my Mum's 81st birthday. Both my mum and dad said they had a lovely time and the table by the fire was ideal on a cold damp day.Thanks

Myself and 7 friends visited here after our hike. It was the perfect spot for lunch. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and outside and has the most stunning views. All staff were lovely and attentive and the food was excellent. There was a fantastic range of gluten free food (two of us are coeliac) and great veggie options (two of us are veggie). I’d highly recommend and will be coming back next time I’m in wales!

Great place to eat. Visited for lunch with family recently and we all had excellent meals no matter which section of the menu we ordered from. The service couldn’t be improved and the views are exceptional. Will definitely visit again.

Another great meal at a Brunning and Price establishment with lovely sociable staff Arrived to be shown to our table and then quickly served with our drinks Food was very good - fish and chips - tasty and the right portion size - all the other meals for our group were excellent too Have been to a few of these pubs/ restaurants all over the country and staff are always on the ball

Lovely welcoming staff, in a fabulous location with great food.

Arriving at 12-15 we assumed we would get prompt service. Of 6 Starter courses 1 was frozen and inedible. We then waited 1 hour before our main courses arrived. Despite asking where our main courses were on 3 occasions we were actually told on 1 occasion 'we're busy'!! When the main courses did arrive we found 3 were inedible. When a complaint was made the duty manager became very agitated and argumentative. Clearly she was a square peg in a round hole. Her whole demeanour has made us all very doubtful about ever going to The Dinorben again and as 'locals' this is an endightment of how badly we were treated.

I have visited this pub on several occasions with family members who live in the area and the food has always been half decent. This time it was terrible and disgusting. I will not be retuning. On complaining to the manager she decided to argue back with us about how long we had waited and how much of our food we had actually eaten. We were told mashed potatoes are meant to be hard after 5 minutes and that the salad was sweet chilli which was why it was literally swimming in the sauce and inedible. You have lost loyal customers with your bad management and poor food on this occasion

Nice atmosphere but expensive. Roast turkey bland and seemed like it came out of a tin.watch your final bill. I did not check mine but on arriving home noticed I was charged for 5 and a half pints of beer when my friend had one pint (he was driving) and I had two pints of Tim Taylor’s boltmaker. Too far to return to query it, and we won’t be returning

First time visiting in many years and we had a great festive meal and received warm hospitality. Food served on hot plates, nicely presented, high quality. Great selection of beers and ales. Stunning countryside views and faultless service. The team here are a credit to themselves. We 100% return and recommend.

As a Christmas treat, my family and I booked a table for seven, none of us having visited before, and it proved to be a fantastic choice. First Impressions: The ample parking, including plenty of disabled spaces, made arriving stress-free. As we approached the entrance, the rustic aesthetic with a contemporary twist set the tone, and the enticing aroma from the kitchen immediately sparked excited conversation about our meal. Upon entering, the bar area exuded a warm and lively buzz, with diners enjoying both food and drink. It was clear this is a popular spot, even before we’d tasted anything. The Dining Experience: We were warmly shown to our festively decorated table, complete with Christmas crackers and a cozy candle, which added a lovely seasonal touch. The menu offered a tempting variety of options. For starters, we chose dishes like pâté, halloumi fries, and garlic bread—all generously portioned and absolutely delicious, setting high expectations for the main course. For mains, we opted for classic roast dinners featuring Welsh beef and Roast porchetta. Each dish was prepared to perfection: the beef was tender and flavorful, the homemade Yorkshire puddings were light and golden, and every element of the meal was clearly crafted with care. The attentive staff ensured our table was promptly cleared between courses, adding to the seamless experience. Desserts: Despite feeling full, the dessert menu was too tempting to resist. The triple chocolate brownie was the standout choice, a rich and indulgent end to an already exceptional meal. Overall Verdict: The Dinorben Arms is a gem of a restaurant. Great food & beautiful location.

Having eaten at the Dinorbin many times and always had exceptional food and service was very disappointed with the Christmas turkey meal this year. It seemed that the food had been prepared hours before and left just plated up until time for service. It was barely warm, and vegetables were not up to usual standard. Turkey was bland. Such a shame. The service as usual was excellent.

First class food, beer and service....would highly recommend!!

This has been one of my favourite eateries since it opened. A big thanks to John yesterday (Sunday 3/11) for help with our booking. Great friendly service and lovely food.

Had a table booked for 5pm, it was really busy. Great atmosphere and lovely surroundings, been here quite a few times before as the food is really good and reasonable prices, I think the service was a little compromised by the fact that they were so busy, but all in all another really enjoyable meal and a great time we had. Looking forward to our next visit..

Chicken was dry, cabbage was raw, gnocchi was like rubber and the entire dish was bland. I have enjoyed meals here in the past and hope it was just an off day. It would also have been nice to be asked if I enjoyed my food.

Very good pub dinner! Sunday roasts are fabulous and a HUGE portion. Service is friendly to the mix of locals and tourists. Nice warm environment with a mix of antique and modern furnishings and decor and a wood burning fireplace!

On holiday. Easy to book a table online. Pub was busy but table was ready, staff were very friendly as were the locals. Food was superb.

Unfortunately the truffle gnocchi was burnt and crispy, and there were only three individual pieces, not what I’d expect for almost £19. We sent the meal back and they agreed to replace it however the replacement wasn’t much better. I think they are over cooking it every time. The sea bass was also over cooked and greasy. When we got the bill there were no deductions for the inconvenience. Overall not a great experience when we were celebrating an 80th birthday.

Lovely food but when stating on menu the beef is served pink, it would be nice if it actually was when served.

Visited on both a Wednesday and Thursday evening on wet days in late September and on both nights it was pretty busy, reflecting what a good pub this is. Food is good, nice selection of beers and drinks and staff are very efficient and friendly. Even when busy the food arrived in good time. Would highly recommend and definitely return if in the area.

I cannot praise this place enough! I have visited a few times with my hubby and always had an amazing experience. Welcoming staff, lovely warm ambiance, gorgeous food and excellent service. Last Sunday I visited for Sunday lunch with the family. There were 11 of us in total including two toddlers (one of who has a wheat allergy) From the moment we arrived we had the most amazing time. We were out in the private dining room and the staff coped so well with all our demands despite the fact it was very busy. Nothing was too much trouble, every order and request was brought out quickly. All the food was hot and do tasty. Also the menu for my grandson with the wheat allergy was amazing. We’ve never been anywhere that has handled that so well, we were blown away. A massive thank you to all th staff who worked do hard that day!

Went here specifically for gluten free options on the menu - a good choice and excellent food - the boar, pork and parsnip pie was wonderful. A real treat to have so much gluten free choice - would definitely recommend and will return!

Staff polite and helpful in catering for dietary needs

Great place to eat with views to match. It’s a stop on the Offa’s dyke pass and dog friendly so plenty of tired feet and sleeping dogs. We’ve been here a couple of times before with the dogs, but this was our first time eating! The first thing to say about this place is the views are spectacular, there’s numerous seating areas across 3 levels to enjoy the views and they are not to be missed! The people working here are all so friendly and professional. Now let’s get on to the food, I had the braised shoulder of lamb with dauphinois and rosemary gravy, the bone easily pulled away from the meat and was so tender and tasty, portion size was spot on and the vegetables lovely, my better half had the black bomber cheddar quiche with crème fraiche new potatoes, alongside a side of onion rings. The quiche was served warm and was really tasty, the side salad included grapes, pea shoots and apples, a dressing would have topped it all off, but it was still delicious. The onion rings were light and crispy. Would highly recommend and we will be regular visitors

Steak, very chewy and not tasty Fish and Bombay potatoes not great and portion was tiny. This is the second time iv been here and both times did not enjoy the food and it’s expensive so you expect better. Probably won’t return.

My son is coeliac, but the options for children and adults were phenomenal. The waiter and kitchen staff were so reassuring that I didn’t even get to ask my usual questions because they answered them before I asked. They went out of their way to ensure everything he had had been checked, without me asking. A very comprehensive list of all the allergens in their allergen book and QR code. To top it off, we had coffee to finish and they all come with a GF flapjack. The pub is set looking over Welsh hills, 2 gardens, and one balcony seating area. An absolute gem if you’re in the area!

Lovely brunning and price pub. Probably the best one I’ve been to. Several well kept ales on. Has the original pub at the (old) front with couple of snugs (even retains the original well inside the modern part ) and a good modern extension with cracking views. Allows stopovers with prior agreement. Some interesting chatty locals too. Highly recommended.. 🍻

We had the most amazing meal on Saturday 10th August, Zak did a brilliant job of looking after us and was very attentive with ensuring drinks were replaced when running low etc.This was my 1st visit and I loved it, would highly recommend to everyone as I think the prices are great for the exceptional service.

I’ve been here a few times now, I work away from home and find this place lovely. Such a nice atmosphere and very warm and welcoming, the staff can’t do enough to help. The food is amazing and my last visit I took my partner who came to visit and she was really impressed
