The Dining Rooms at Albion House in Thanet

We decided to have breakfast here because the place looked cozy and nice (and it was). We ordered the Albion full English breakfast and French toasts. The full English was ok, we particularly liked the sausage and were positively surprised by the spicy baked beans,... but it was expensive for the quantity that you get. We didn't like the French toasts at all, they were dry and didn't have much taste, they are made with sourdough and not brioche and were barely covered in batter, served with a little bit of cream a sour berries compote, again, way too expensive for what it was. The service was just the minimum, quite slow and no warmth at all

Simple menu, simple, clean and cozy ambiance. The food is beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. The starters came very quickly but you never felt rushed.

Dinner and breakfast were 10/10. Would highly recommend. Staff were great.

Nice location and the Dining room was nice. I had roast chicken and found it quite underwhelming. The roast potatoes were very soft and bland. The chicken was a bit too salty. I also found the vegetable portions to be very small.

Our entire experience was delightful 😊 Not only was the Royale incredible, but my Bloody Mary was the best I've ever had, and I'm a bartender! 😋

Second visit, this time 'capsule' had the Waverley House chef at the helm and on top form. But, also a fantastic support team, genuinely cared for re drinks, and perfect attention to us throughout - thQ! Relaxed, lovely atmosphere, decor, and highly recommended if you're thinking, should I - then yes. Delish!

Fantastic roast. Imposing room. Wonderful views. Attentive staff. Lovely roast (only gripe was tatties could have been a touch hotter).

Very disappointed- had the sirloin steak and it was extremely fatty. It wasn’t just mine either. At £30 a go, would have expected a much better steak. Could have got a much nicer one from Aldi’s. Service good, but when I said about the steak, and they saw the amount of fat on the two plates, did not offer a discount. Sauce and chips were lovely

Moved away from sharing platters to individual servings which is good, but food not as good as it once was. Too many dogs in the restaurant these days, and I'm a dog owner.

The Albion allowed us to have a Wedding breakfast, midweek, in a large private room. I think 18 of us sat down. The whole process was simple and made so easy by their events Manager. We chose to use their regular menu and opted for three courses. Very good choices. I had the cod cheek with pea, the chicken and the locally sourced cheeses. Everyone was impressed with the food. The room was prepared beautifully, the decor great. The staff were very attentive and performed admirably. The welcome drinks, cocktails and drink in general were great. We had arrived around 2pm, sat down at 4pm and didn’t leave till 11pm. Thank you for a most memorable occasion.

An accommodating and service oriented staff twined with an ambient sea-scape view makes for a calming late afternoon or eve at the Albion House. Their parlor provides a relaxing sitting room to rest and study while enjoying a tea. The food is thoughtful and tasteful and their cocktails are superb.

Lovely venue for either a delicious meal or a cocktail. Menu has changed from the small sharing plates back to the large plate selection, which we feel is a much better option. Food was absolutely delicious, the the dining area and atmosphere is wonderful. Lovely selection of wines and cocktails. Highly recommended a visit.

Went to Albion House for Sunday lunch. Apart from the service being painfully slow (it took 45 minutes between asking for the bill and eventually paying), the roast beef itself was poor....very overcooked and only 2 transparently thin slices. On mentioning this to the person taking the payment, I was told by her that this was not her responsibility as she worked on reception. As far as I am concerned, she either accepts responsibility or goes to get a manager; she did neither. There were 4 of us and for this 3-course meal we were charged just under £300; very expensive for what we received!! Very disappointed with the entire experience.

We had a lovely Sunday Roast again at the Dining Rooms, good wine. Beautiful quality ingredients perfectly cooked, excellent service and DJ playing perfect chilling Sunday music, look forward to next visit soon.

I've been here for coffee while it has always been excellent. On this visit, I wanted to try the food in the restaurant, so I booked for lunch on the bank holiday weekend. The service from the office was very good. Trying to book online was a little awkward for technical reasons so-called. Although my call was not answered, I received a call back shortly and was booked a table. I tried some food from the bar menu, although the main menu looked equally tasty. I had the homemade bread with anchovy butter and haddock croquettes. Both were excellent, although personally I would have liked a stronger anchovy taste, but that's my personal preference. The croquettes came with an equally delicious dipping sauce, and all tasted very fresh. My partner had the special, which was a coronation chicken sandwich , which was simply amazing. I'm keen to return to try their dinner menu. If you're in the area this place is well worth the visit. Loved the decor and general atmosphere and feel of the place too.

Food was lovely if cold and we were cold too as at a table by the door esp as front door was often open shame door to reception was not closed.

Came here for Sunday Lunch, though £19 for a roast beef, it was delicious (the best I have had in a long while) and they did not skimp on the beef, so I think good value. The mussels were delicious but a bit expensive as a starter, the service was very good and the place has a lovely ambience. My only gripe is that the drinks are expensive most cocktails are over £10 and the wine you generally looking over £30 a bottle. Still had a lovely time and compliments to the chef.

The BEST Sunday Roast I've ever eaten. The food is Exceptional and the service was superb. Highly Recommended 11/10

The best roast I have found in Ramsgate so far. Brilliant attentive service, fabulous wines and flavoursome, amazingly cooked food. Will definitely be back.

Great menu, ambience and friendly staff with good service!

One of my best meals ever! Wasn't sure what to expect on our first visit. Very warm welcome, great vibe in the dining room, looking out over the channel. Sharing dish of lamb, family style was incredible. Flavours and quality of the food was outstanding. Little details too, like being asked if I wanted the glass warming up for my calvados!

Absolutely first class food and service. The staff and newly posted restaurant manager paid real care and attention to us.

I had the best fish and chips here I’ve ever had in my entire life. The fish itself was fresh, flaky, and perfectly juicy, and the batter was light, airy, and despite me covering it in lemon and vinegar, managed to remain completely crispy throughout the course of eating it. The triple cooked chips were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the fresh tartar sauce was also extremely high quality. The entire meal fantastic. 9.5 for the fish and chips, I’m not sure what you can actually do to better such a perfectly simple plate of food. One little touch I loved seeing was the chef came out onto the floor and spent a solid ten minutes talking to a couple about the food - taking extra time to entertain their six year old, too. Really nice! Service was great, and the overall ambience of the dining area was lovely - we also had drinks in the area where you wait before you are seated, and that in and of itself could be considered as a separate experience - very nice chairs, views out of the window, and just a nice overall calmness. If I had to make one criticism, it’s that the food comes out perhaps a little too fast, and the service seemed to drop off rapidly after the main was brought out, but it’s barely enough to even bother mentioning. Oh actually, one other criticism is that they need to update the menus - some things weren’t available and were no longer made - easily fixed! Overall, a solid 9/10 eating experience. Beautiful food and exceptionally well priced.

The sirloin steak was absolutely amazing!! I never had a better steak. The cocktail also, Negroni, was perfect. Service amd atmosphere were spot on. I will definitely be back!! 👍👍👍

One of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had!

Great cocktails, friendly helpful staff, and good food. However vegetarian options are limited (1 main dish only) and nothing vegan. Fine if you're a carnivore!

We enjoyed a fabulous evening meal here, followed by a great breakfast. The dinner especially didn’t put a foot wrong, highly recommend and shall return.

I always enjoy lunch, or tea and cake here. The lounge has great style and comfort for relaxing, conversation, and taking in the beautiful views across the harbour. Always friendly, helpful staff.

My score reflects my comments and not the quality of the food. We arrived for a breakfast and was greeted lovely by the hostess on the front dest and showed us to our table, we had two Albion English breakfast and two lattes and I ordered 1 extra bacon. The quality of the food we received was great, lovely and hot the eggs were tasty .....but the problem we had was we only got half a mushroom ......each. For a £12.50 breakfast ( to add that 1 slice of bacon was a shocking £2.50 ) £35.05 total cost one would of thought a whole mushroom would of made the plate for a premium breakfast in a fine establishment. Very disappointing.

Very quiet when we visited. Friendly staff and efficient service. Food was nice but options were a little more limited than the menu online suggested.

Came here to end our visit in Ramsgate and we couldn't have picked a better place. The decor is stunning and the service was excellent. Very friendly staff and accommodating! For food I had their avocado and hummus on sourdough which was delicious. They also had alternative milk which was perfect. Also we fancied a cheeky mimosa in the morning and they were happy to serve which was an added bonus. Only wish I'd seen it at the beginning of my trip as I would have definitely come back!

Food was great, however the menu options were greatly limited due to covid-19. The reason for 3 stars was because of the fire alarm that went off 9 times, with the longest lasting 3 minutes. (We could've just walked out and not paid!). The female lavatory was dirty too, and this is a hotel, which is not acceptable.

Lovely food, restricted menu choices. A sad incident when one of the group needed to leave to catch a taxi for a train. The much enjoyed dessert was extremely hot and couldn't be finished. We had waited over 20mins despite being assured it would be served within 10 mins. We had to ask for the cost to be removed from the bill. We would go again. Excellent toilets.

Lunch - Poor service, seemingly uninterested and slow. Literally can't even poach an egg properly. However, food tasted good when it eventually arrived but sat with empty plates in front of us for 15 mins and had to pay at the bar, as no service. Nice venue and decor.

Food was good. However, there was no cake or dessert apart from a brownie.

Nice meal nothing to write home about

We found this place completely at random (first the town, then this restaurant) on our way back to the continent. It's lovely and delicious! The food was really tasty, the children loved it too and the waiter's were children friendly. It was a nice moment quite out of time in a nice decor.

Beautiful Regency building, with a lovely restaurant and bar inside. Attentive, friendly staff. Very good food (I had the sea bass- order a side if you’re hungry). The greens were beautifully garlicky and the chips hand cut and crispy. Good wine list, with some Kent offerings. It’s dog friendly. The room is gorgeous and the music was great, although maybe not fitting the grandeur of the building (bizarrely seventies disco on this occasion, which I love!). Queen Victoria stayed here as a princess, and I’ll be booking the Little Victoria Room next time we visit.

Had a very enjoyable breakfast here, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and open really early for a sunday - 7.30 for continental style, 8am for cooked dishes. high up and can see the sea from the windows. there is a lift just nearby if you wanted to get the lift from the seafront - not open all the time though!
