Service on point Very cheerful and great atmosphere James was our server and was the best Couldn’t fault him!! Very patient and very good when recommending us drinks

Nice pub with good selection of ale and cider. Ale quality was variable - the micros in Margate are a better option if you only have time for one.

Great little bar, shame so quiet

Came upon this bar by chance, a jazz group were playing add to that some exotic cider and we had a very entertaining couple of hours. The bar is basic but friendly, won't be to everyone's taste.

Stopped off after a concert in dreamlands and had a couple of pints. Local brew was very enjoyable if you like real ale. Downside was the natural cider, or rather the dry cider, which seriously was like drinking ditch water (the kindest way to say it). Only drink it if you're too very rough dry cider. Otherwise everything else was fine.

Cocktails were a bit shady. Side car was like cold lemsip with bits. But was given a vodka sunrise instead. £12 a bit overpriced.

This was a great pub - very friendly staff and an excellent selection of beer. Really good for ultra low / low and no alcohol selections which is great to see - wish all bars had a decent selection rather than just the horrible Becks Blue!

An excellent traditional styled pub. Its a drinkers pub, with great traditional Ales and excellent atmosphere. The service is polite and friendly. Reccomend a visit if you're in the Margate area.

Last couple of times visiting Margate we avoided the Lifeboat due to a bad experience with bar staff there. We went back this time and the new staff were great, really felt welcome and always a good selection of beers ( which is why we always liked it!) 😀.

Liam guided bus on the ciders, Scott guided us on life lol. No darts on TV or food. Smash burgers or hot dogs past blue ribbon beer cider Wall is excellent . We had a laugh

Really nice inviting pub right in the centre of Margate. Supporting my favourite charity, the R.N.L.I.Went on a quiet afternoon. The person on the bar was friendly and helpful.Prices were reasonable.The only downside was the ABK lager wasn't great,I've had it elsewhere and it tasted and looked completely different,a pity since the rest of my visit was faultless.

Dropped into The Lifeboat near the end of the evening. Lovely buzz, and ended up losing badly at cards with a couple who we cheekily asked if we could share a table with. Excellent fun. Great place.

We went after seeing Sir Tom Jones, good atmosphere & guy playing guitar finished our night off nicely.

We never miss a visit to the lifeboat when we visit Ramsgate. Best beer in town. (But we're not telling anybody because then we might not get in). 🤣🤣

THe best pub in Margate for me. Went there with my family father's Day and it was a real treat. Charming, chatty bar lady serving the best beer in town. I had a pint of titsey pale ale, it was just superb. Great atmosphere and unspoiled interior.

Warm, friendly bar with a great selection of ales if that’s your thing. Don’t listen to “1 star Roger”, he seems to delight in giving bad reviews to most of the excellent businesses in town, the Karl Pilkington of Margate (without the sense of humour).

I love this place. I went last Monday and was surprised when drummer Doug Sides appeared on stage to play jazz. An epic night.

This is the place to go to finish your night. Open until 2am and always full of a friendly, happy crowd. I never not enjoyed stumbling out of here.

Not what it used to be, but good for last knockings as open later than most venues in town.

Great experience - down to earth, like the decor and stove, and the vibe felt a bit like being in apres ski bar up in the alps, or was I just imagining that! Dog friendly too.

This pub in Margate's old town hosts one of Britain's best jazz sessions Mondays 9-11pm. Whether swing, bebop, funk or free (relatively), these musicians are great. And the beer ain't bad either.

Found this pub using The Real Ale App. where you can research all local real ale pubs and what they have on offer, before you enter. What a little gem. High quality well kept ales with welcoming bar staff. For me the wood chip covering of the rough wood floor was the cherry on the cake. Recommended for the discerning drinker.

This is such a quirky little pub, and the lady who served us was lovely! BUT.....The ladies toilets are by far the most disgusting toilets I have ever been in! There is absolutely no excuse for this. It has most definitely put me off ever going back. Shame really, as the pub itself is really fun - easily resolved issue

Friendly staff and fantastic beers

I have never had a good experience at this pub & and nor has theres always one bar man who’s incredibly rude and hostile for no reason. If you don't like serving customers then don’t have a job in customer service

Size can make it feel a bit claustrophobic but its lively with good staff and a decent drinks selection. Doorman was super fair with us too.

A very old, dark and small pub in the backstreets of old Margate town. Real sawdust on the harsh floor (and probably some spit as well although I didn't notice any because it was too dark). Built for people of the size they were in the 18th & 19th centuries, so if you're six foot tall like me you may feel a bit cramped. But if you like genuine historical pubs this is a good place to visit. And they had a decent range of beers; I had an excellent pint of plum stout reasonably priced. Thanks guys.

Great little pub in the Old Town, with good atmosphere even out of season when Margate is quiet. Attracts young and old and 'cool" people.An eclectic range of beers and ciders, the friendly staff will advise you given your tastes, and will happily give you a small taster before you commit! They have live music a couple of nights a week. Nice log fire. Shame there is no food, but it is quite small.

A great quirky pub in Margate with a good beer/cider selection. The bar man from Tipperary (sorry, we didn't get his name) was extremely welcoming and made our visit. We loved the music on in the background too - great choices and just at the perfect volume so you could still talk comfortably. We look forward to returning again :)

Visited Margate for new years and we kept coming back to this pub! Nice and chilled place, dog friendly and nice staff. Felt very welcome. We decided it was out favourite place in Margate! They weren't doing food when we visited but great for a bloody mary!

Vincent behind the bar knew how to handle the pub even when it was packed. Very polite even when under pressure, and a hard worker.

Was pretty busy when we went, and they only had two people working! Vincent was super friendly and really polite, even when it was packed! Nicest bartender I’ve met in ages!

The staff are either arrogant or rude but nothing more positive. Enforcing seating only rules after the national mandate has ended. Wouldn’t be such a problem if the delivery of the rules got close to polite or kind. Got to the pub opposite with far kinder and more welcoming staff.
