Barnacles - Thorley Taverns in Thanet

Was there in 2022 with my family we watched our team play football right in the middle of a parade but they was very welcoming to my family and we appreciated them letting us watch the football even though we lost 4-0 to Brentford in the end.

What a fantastic little pub this is really friendly owner and staff great range of drinks as well worth a visit.

I never leave reviews, but this is an exception. We went today for the England game as a first time visitor from Bedfordshire. I couldn't fault Nigel and the team. Nigel was constantly touring the pub and making sure everyone was watered and had a seat, collecting glasses and bringing beers round, the staff at the bar were super attentive and were keeping an eye at who was at the bar first waiting. The atmosphere was incredible!! The pub itself was super clean including the toilets. No complaints on any of the that front. The only sad thing was two double gins was over £18. But for a one off for an incredible night it's not the end! Not sure why they have food options on here as they don't do food. Thank you Nigel and team for your great service and hospitality! When we visit again we will be back!

Came here a few weeks back to meet up with a mate, lovely pub and good choice of drinks, will definitely return for sure & would like to try the food next time

Friendly staff who always remember what your favourite drink is even if you don't go in for several weeks. Fabulous location, exceptionally clean toilets, quieter rooms at the back and lots of outdoor seating facing the sea. No food served but they allow their customers to eat food bought from nearby businesses at their outside tables.

Nice bar lovely view, but I'm local I see it all the time. I've not been out for years but £20 for 3 pints of beer, dunno I will either be looking at a brick wall or staying home next time I want to go out.

Called in with friends for a drink. Ended up watching England Rugby game. Great pub with well kept beers, friendly landlord and staff. Although we did not eat there. Many folk around us did. Looking forward to returning to this gem of a pub next time we visit our friends.

A proper pub, carpeted floors and friendly service! We went in to have a quick drink and watch the football and had a great time, with music on the jukebox and a fun atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Nice place to hang out, is a little bit more expensive but does also allow you to have some chips from the local with a drink at their pub also staff is always friendly and are always up for a chat.

Large group of us went in there today (well outside) on our way to Folkestone v Margate. Proper old school place and staff absolutely brilliant. Place was busy but still got served very quickly. Much rather spend my money in these sorts of places than in Wetherspoons.

The manager literally couldn't do enough for us when we visited. Its a nice touch that you are allowed to eat your fish and chips from the local chippie at the pub.

This is one of those great traditional pubs, were the bar people are super friendly and they make you feel at home right away, l had a lovely evening here plus they play nice background music.

Had a few drinks, great service were quick. although the measurements of the spirits I am not sure they give you the full amount - I paid £4.50 for Hendrix shot and there was not 25ml of it.

Traditional local’s pub in Margate Old Town. Much bigger than it appears from the outside with large back rooms. Very friendly, welcoming staff. Well kept ales but doesn’t sell food (apart from snacks). Definitely worth a visit.

It states this pub opens at 11 am but infactbit opens at 12 very friendly pub clean and they will always go that extra mile for their customers. Staff are amazing too very worthwhile visit you have to go there mitch is a star
