Does not deserve to be in business. Refused to serve our party of 8 including my father, aged 90. We only wanted coffee and cake. Told we should have booked even though there were lots of spare tables. Unfriendly, unwelcoming, rude, avoid.

A fab all day breakfast, eaten around lunchtime. Freshly cooked, plenty of optional extras and reasonably priced. Dog friendly, and spacious enough that our dogs asleep didn't get in anyone's way. What a great community food place with residents and public eating together.

Great vegan options - just ask! The breakfasts are superb, especially with a derbyshire oatcake. possibly the best in the dales. Coffee is also spot on.

My wife and I had breakfast there. Both meals were ok, but they were not served hot. Everything was Luke warm at best. The bacon was not cooked properly. Further, I mentioned this to the man in the spirit of constructive comments and he responded with sarcasm and facetiousnesses. It was expensive too.

Staying in Wirksworth for the week end. My sister and brother in law popped over today so we could take the dogs on a walk, loads of fabulous walks around the area. Once we had returned to Wirksworth we wanted a hit drink and something to eat. The cafes are often tiny and difficult to fit in four people and 2 small dogs, I had a peek in The Dining Room yesterday and thought it would be ideal. We ordered coffees which came quickly. Had been told the food would be a while as all fresh cooked. We had a full English, Rarebit, mushroom & stilton oatcake and Parkin. Not a long wait at all and the food was fabulous. Would definitely recommend, we will be back 😊

Popped in for a coffee, which is very well priced, especially compared to the big coffee chains. Great tasting latte, I noticed other customers enjoying the full English breakfast, which looked fantastic, and they do a gluten-free version too at very good price also! Lovely relaxing atmosphere on the big sofas available to guests to enjoy also. Go and enjoy the drinks and food and support local.

The Man serving was really rude . There were 10 of us wanting coffee and tea cake/cake we went to the counter to place the order and we were told we should have rang up and preordered before we entered the establishment . How absolutely ridiculous it’s only like a cafe it wax nog busy at all.Reluctantly he let us place the order. We should have walked out

The very best breakfasts in Wirksworth. I have lived in the area for over 25 years, trust a local. The dining room cannot be beaten.

Well what can I say about this place and Colin the owner? Colin is the Jack Dee of Wirksworth and invariably leaves us in stitches, whilst the breakfast is high quality and great value.

Fell upon The Dining Room after being unable to get a hot drink with a locally purchased bacon butty. Such a shame I didn't see this first. It appears to be associated with a care home located adjacent to it. A nice quiet atmpsphere making it easy to talk, well spaced tables, reasonable prices, good quality coffee - what maore could you ask for? The staff were helpful and it was service with a smile. Lovely. Would definitely return.

Found the Dining Room by chance while spending time in Wirksworth during visit to Ecclesbourne Valley railway. Spacious and comfortable with a good and varied menu. We both had paninis , which were delicious and well presented with side salad. Lunch and drinks were served promptly and very good value. So glad we found this place. We'll be back again.

I highly recommend the Dining Room at Wirksworth. I have visited several times over the last year either on my own or with friends. I have always received a warm friendly welcome from Colin, Fiona and team. It is a very comfortable place to have a coffee, a cake, breakfast or lunch. It is in an old historic building which is spacious and clean. It has a fully accessible side entrance. The food is good quality, good value, tasty and beautifully presented. All day breakfasts are also served on Sundays, generous portions too. My particular favourites are the filled Derbyshire oatcakes but I am working my way through the extensive menu which includes items such as Canadian pancakes with maple syrup and bacon. The Dining room also stocks locally made ice cream; this and other takeout items can be purchased from the window/hatch which faces onto the road. I don't have dog myself but have observed them being welcomed in. If you are in Wirksworth do try The Dining room, you won't be disappointed.

Visited today with two small Children. We were greeted by a lovely man who was so accommodating and pleasant. Lots of space and big tables. Food was great and excellent value. No kids menu but the man explained that they could adapt as we wanted. He even gave us free milkshakes and apologised for having to wait longer than usual when infact i didn’t think it was a long wait and was quite a pleasant wait in a lovely atmosphere. 5 stars for customer service! Will def it rly revisit.

We went to the Dining room Community restaurant for breakfast on our last day in Wirksworth and found this gem on the high street. Wish we had found it on our first day! The breakfast was lovely with decent portions, the prices were very reasonable and the staff were so helpful and friendly. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a good breakfast/lunch while visiting/ staying in Wirksworth.

I visited these tearooms with my daughters on Friday 24th May. I have been to other tea shops in Bakewell, but Toscas is by far the best. We had afternoon tea for three of us, we sat outside in the court yard. The afternoon tea arrived and there was lots of lovely cake and sandwiches, beautifully presented, and our host friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We really enjoyed our afternoon tea, very civilised, we will defiantly be visiting again. In fact we will have a day out to bakewell just to visit Toscas .

Great choice for lunch out. After a pleasant walk through the beautiful countryside of Derbyshire, we stopped for lunch and so glad we did. A wide choice of dishes hot and cold from salads to mezes to traditional burgers, plus lots, lots more including suitable choices of gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options. I opted for the delicious chicken with tagliatelle. A generous helping. Good range of drinks from typical traditional ales to cocktails and wines, plus many non-alcoholic alternatives. Or simply coffee or tea. Overall, a pleasant lunch in a beautiful Derbyshire village.
