Really nice place, friendly staff and great food, cheese burger was proper good.

A decent diner serving good size portions at breakfast at reasonable prices. Service was friendly and food was tasty and plenty of it. If you’re visiting the island it’s the perfect breakfast spot before hopping on the ferry just across the street.

Food was average. Chips were a bit hard. 1 decent meal out of 4. Felt rushed, although there was an hour till it closed

Nice friendly welcome for the 7 of us for lunch. I had a Coronation chicken toastie which was tasty but a bit runny. There was items for kids if they wanted it. Chips were skinny ones which are good for cooking but not my favourite for eating. Prices were reasonable. Food was plain fair.

Great food.. excellent price... friendly staff and dog friendly... Good portion sizes and decor American diner... loads of space between table also.. if ever in Rothesay and looking for somewhere to eat I would 100% recommend...

We had lovely lunchtime snacks sitting on the barstools next to the juke box. Grandson's choice! Staff are lovely and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. Great for a quick coffee or leisurely lumch 😋😋

We had a trip to Rothesay while we were on holiday in Glasgow. The Diner is a popular, busy place, which is always a good sign. We both chose Lorne sausage, as they are impossible to buy at home and we both love them. The Lorne was served in a bread roll, and we topped it with brown sauce. The food was lovely, and it was a good price. Staff were friendly and we would definitely return next time we are in Rothesay.

One of those places that you feel there's nothing specifically wrong with it but at the same time it lacks something that would make it special and make you want to give it 5 stars. The decor is nice, the food is nice, the service was fine, but somehow it wasn't special, just nice.

Popped in here for breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The food was lovely, and the service was quick. Lovely decor and relaxing atmosphere.

Didn't have food only drinks, i.e Fanta, hot chocolate etc but waited over 20 mins then I had to ask for my Fanta after all the other drinks had arrived, this was my first and last time here and my friends thought the same, avoid.

Worst burgers ever! I would take a McDonalds any other day. Pricey for a plain cheese burger with no salad. You can hear them microwave your food. I am not sure how this place has stayed in business for so long.

Ate here had big breakfast not much on the plate.they put out Heinz tomato ketchup it is definitely not Heinz it's a refilled bottle this is false advertising just get other bottles and fill them up if you are going to be cheap skates

Great place to eat. We were on Waverley trip. Lunch was excellent, great portion size and fantastic prices. Highly recommend

It's lovely place it has so much space for lots of people. It's American setting and the food there was lovely. Loads of food come in the one dish you get. Will be going back to it again

Popped in for a quick snack to take away. Ordered a tuna salad sandwich. Good amount of filing with soft white bread. The kids with us had chips and ice creams which they liked.

Had a quick and delicious breakfast here. The breakfast rolls were fast to come out. Simple food with a fun American diner theme. Would return for a quick bite if I'm ever back in Rothesay!

A very convivial, popular place, and the service was excellent – but the food falls well short. Possibly the worst hamburger I've ever had. And oddly, though macaroni cheese comes with chips, burgers do not – nor do they come with tomato, lettuce, pickle... just a dry bun and a patty full of rusk and filler. No.

Really disappointed by the coffee and how you make a toasty greasy is beyond me. It came with a tiny portion or salt and vinegar crisps ... no choice on flavours... . Its just the sort of place that tries to be functional and that's great if the fod was OK. I was not expecting fine dining lol but miserable staff and food that is below average will not have me going back

Very basic food, bit over priced for what it was. And just a very rude colleague who "told me off" for having the dog on my lap. Not sure as too why this would make any difference to her, just struck me as a very miserable jobsworth. I think they are used to never seeing their customers again as its mostly tourists. Personally I would say give this place a miss there is much better on the island with polite and friendly staff.

Fantastic Diner. The full breakfast is amazing. The staff are welcoming and all-around wonderful. This is a great place to have a hot, filling breakfast.

Who knew that such a small island would have such a cool American dinner? Reasonably priced food served in authentic surroundings and presentated in a fun authentic way Mahe this a great fun stop for lunch.

first of all i would like to say the prices for what you get in here is shocking, i payed 9 pound for possibly the worst macaroni i could even tel it was the packet sauce with only a handful of chips, my friend nathan got a burger for 5.50 the cheese looked plastic i don’t have a photo of the burger as nathan was desperately starving after the gym so he forced himself to eat it

Can't comment on the food as we didn't eat here. Lovely welcome when we went in for drinks. Very unusual place to find anywhere ouside of a large city, far less on the outskirts of Rothesay on the island of Bute.

This is a good, moderately priced diner, great for lunch. Diner style food, great for kids and teenagers.

Food was ok. Place was very busy and staff were overwhelmed so service was pretty much non existent. I'm sure it would be a nice place to go if not busy but avoid if busy or your in any sort of hurry

We had lunch here on a day trip to Bute. Nicely decorated in American diner style and very clean, it has an attractive interior with plenty of space. Staff were all friendly and there is a good choice of lighter and hot foods for lunch. We both had the soup of the day - chicken and rice - which was very good and clearly home made, with large pieces of chicken, although as is so often the case in Scotland it was a bit salty for our taste. Sensibly priced too. Would go again.

Unusual to find an American-style diner here. The bacon sandwich was excellent with cripsy bacon. Worth a visit!

Lovely cafe that caters to eating in and take out. Comfy seats, plenty to choose from which look out across the water. Dogs permitted in one section. Food (full breakfast) was well cooked with plentiful portions, and waiting times were very reasonable. Great friendly staff 👍 If I'm ever back on the island, it's a definite revisiting from me 😃

A great wee caff. Fried chicken is a speciality here and excellent. The all day breakfast leaves a bit to be desired, the sausage is of very poor quality and puts me off ordering again. The breakfast burger with egg and bacon on it, is a real winner. The coffee is strong and hot and the chips are good. I prefer a plate to a meal in a basket but that's just my preference. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and the bathrooms are excellent.

Day on Bute and dropped in for a latish lunch... advised I might have z Limited choice BUT had everything I needed plus they serve a mean floater... ice cream in fizzy pop to the uninitiated... not much from outside but well worth a visit!

We visited here for lunch during a family trip to Rothesay. We were a party of 7 adults and six children, two of whom required high chairs. The staff were so accommodating and kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was hot, quick and value for money. Thank you so much!

Visited from Liverpool and my kids loved it! They were especially excited with the pancakes and having a chip butty for breakfast!

Used the Diner twice for breakfast .The staff are very helpful ,the food &choice really good and the place is exceptionally clean & cheerful.

Popped in here in order to get a drink and get out of the rain . Had a vanilla latte and a chocolate milkshake and both were good. Millionaire shortbread was also good. Nice clean ladies toilets too. It was very busy though, we managed to sit in the booths which felt very American diner orientated.

Brilliant restaurant. Food was great and dog friendly too, which was a bonus as it's hard to find somewhere decent to eat when you have a dog. Service is excellent too. Will definitely be back when we next visit Rothesay, which I'm hoping will be in the not too distant future.

Clean but not great quality. I guess it is what it says on the tin. A diner- Cheap. I had Fish goujon's but there was no batter which I was expecting, instead overcooked breadcrumbs. Staff were friendly and attentive but didn't enjoy .

Call in for lunch and the food was lovely. We were seated and served quickly. Lovely dinner.

We both had a panini and a filled roll along with a couple of hot drinks and thought that what they charged was a bit steep. Left the cafe and heard a voice calling me saying she had overcharged me. Went back into the cafe and got paid back the balance. Any other place would have probably left it at it was but 100% kudos to the honesty of the waitress.

First time here & we pleasantly surprised with food & drink. The prices are reasonable, but on our visit the service was a bit slow.

We love the Diner!! Pancake stack is gorgeous, and full breakfast leaves you full all day!! Lovely staff, very friendly and the Diner itself is just lovely to look at with all the memorabelia, a regular stop for us. Great positioning too right on the front with easy access to parking and the ferry.

Chips fab , staff very friendly , burgars came plain , had to ask for onions , very reasonable

Got off the ferry and stepped straight onto this lovely little establishment. Served quickly, order taken quickly, and food delivered in great time. I enjoyed my meal, and will probably go back for breakfast before the return ferry trip.

Service was really poor. Our hot drink was finished for about 15 mins before we got our ham and cheese panini. Overall a 35 min wait for our lunch

In for lunch 4 ppl nice food and milkshakes not one complaint girls serving were cheerie and very hard working ,had between us chips ,cheese and onion paninis , chicken strips curry sauce,chicken nuggets, tea and 4 large milkshakes 2 strawberry and 2 chocolate which are very filling , nice and enjoyable .

This is an American style diner, with friendly staff. I had a delicious and generous slice of cake, with a coffee. The pancake stack with fruit is highly recommended.
