Booking on a Saturday lunch definitely advised. We hadn’t booked but luckily got a high table and enjoyed a lovely beer and burger. Friendly staff and a nice buzzy atmosphere. The sharing nachos looked fabulous- be back for this next time. Doggy friendly.

We have visited a few times over the last couple of weeks and each meal has been fantastic. All orders are cooked fresh which can take a little time, so we always book half an hour earlier than we’d like to eat. The service is always with a smile and very attentive, even when it’s packed. Would highly recommend.

We booked a table for 4 last minute and despite being incredibly busy the food and service were faultless. The staff were friendly, attentive and worked so hard.

Great place!! And would highly recommend to anyone! The food was exceptional, especially the beef and chicken hanging kebabs. Steak was perfectly well cooked. All 8 of us was very happy with our meals! Really friendly team also. They were amazing with my sisters rapeseed intolerance also and checked with her to make sure everything was great with her meal and offered her more if she needed. I'm looking forward to going back again soon!

Highly recommend! An amazing spot in belper. Just visited with 9 of my family and everyone was so happy with the food. I recommend the beef and chicken skewers. The nachos were great and plentiful. The first was also huge!! Great value for money, with the plates having good portion sizes. The team were great and I love the decor inside. They were great with my sisters rapeseed allergy also and made sure eveything was ok for her. I can't wait to go back for the skewers again !

Go here every time I visit belper called in today got a table for 2 we both had the butter roast turkey dinner absolutely fantastic only downside you don’t get a Yorkshire pudding apart from that as good a meal as I’ve had anywhere gorgeous

My husband and I went for a little date at lunch time and decided to try the Devonshire. What an absolutely gorgeous place. The staff were wonderful and attentive, the food was first class, a real treasure 😊 thank you all for a lovely lunchtime x (Worth noting also, despite my husband and I not being vegan or veggie- there were a number of excellent options to cater for those that are!)

Great food and exceptional service. The lighting is just a bit harsh, we really wanted to settle in and have a cosy meal but it felt like we were under spotlights. I do think it might've just been the table we were at though.

First time here today. I’ve had a lot of burgers in my time but this was next level. Best I’ve ever had. I never really leave reviews but felt like this was needed. Staff were brilliant throughout, definitely be returning.

We came tonight as my partner had never been before and I wanted to show him what a lovely pub it is. We came over from Ashbourne and I can honestly say you didn't disappoint. We will be back again very soon to try more of the menu. Thank you

Excellent Sunday lunch. The place was packed and buzzing but the manager and her team were totally professional and exceptionally amicable, nothing was a problem. The food was first class and, on request, we were brought extra roast potatoes and gravy. Yorkshire puds like small footballs Good real ales and house wines. We shall return!

Great food, lovely surroundings.

Booked a table for 7 45. On arrival told it would be 45 mins to an hour before our food would be served. I'm afraid that is unacceptable,to make matters worse a table of 4 who ordered 30 mins after us was served before us. The staff were very apologetic but I wouldn't wait that long in a Michelin starred restaurant let alone a Belper pub! The food when it eventually arrived after 1 hour and 10 mins was delicious and they did knock off some of the drinks on the bill. I would much rather have paid for everything and had a good experience. We will not be going again and will make sure to tell all our friends not to go unless they are prepared to wait at least an hour for their food.

What a lovely, cosy, dog friendly pub in Belper! We visited for a family meal this weekend and were impressed with our experience. We ordered the KFC, halloumi whitby style, vegan kerala mushroom curry, korean cauliflower wrap and a cheesy chip bucket. We loved our meals and thought the presentation and portion sizes were great. The vegan kerala mushroom curry came with pilau potatoes and potato dumplings, which tasted incredible with lots of flavour but it did feel like potato overload. If I could change anything about this meal, I would swap the pilau potatoes for rice. The cheesy chip bucket was my favourite side dish! The staff were so welcoming & friendly and bought over a water bowl and biscuit treats for our dog which he thoroughly enjoyed 🤩 We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Honestly hands down one of the best places I've ever eaten. I had the pulled pork wrap and it was just gorgeous. Hand cut chips also crispy on the outside and fluffy inside. Partner had the Roman burger which was one of the best he's had he said, which is a statement!! We then had the sticky toffee pudding which was served warm with vanilla ice cream. Absolutely beautifully baked, not too sweet and the cake was fluffy like a cloud. Service was fantastic, nice music on and warm. Dog friendly too so we had our pooch with us. Very well priced and affordable, will be coming back for sure. It was honestly one of the best meals we have had and would 100% recommend! Thanks so much.

Had a fabulous, impromptu evening in the Devonshire Arms. Went in for a quick drink and to book a tsble and ended up staying for dinner! The staff we encountered were truly awesome...thank you so much to Louise, Dylan, Daisy and Emma for making us feel so welcome, seen and genuinely cared about. The food was great and the atmosphere was buzzing yet very laid back. We loved it and we'll be back...Next week!! HIGHLY recommended!

Fab place but beware for larger parties - they don't want you! The food here is great, so would recommend if you are a small group! I tried to rebook for a family meal of 10 people and they have a crazy rule for over 8 people - you have to prebook your food and also pay a deposit of £10 per person! We unfortunately took our party elsewhere - not as good but sure they appreciated the £500 bill more than the Duke. Such a shame we couldn't come back.

Not brilliant... doubt if we will be back

I visited for a roast dinner on a Sunday with a friend, we were able to book a table the day before. When we arrived we had a lovely table by the window. The roast beef was served with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, carrots, courgette, new potatoes, red cabbage, gravy… probably more… anyway, it was delicious. Only slight comment is I needed more gravy but I asked for this and it came immediately. For desert I had the lotus biscoff brownie and this was immense. I’ll be back just for this. 10/10

Always a lovely welcome. Great personable service with a smile in an atmospheric pub close to the centre of town. Nice selection on the menu with occasional new dishes. Bonus of a local brewery's gluten free lager on draught... 🍻

Wow if you want to go out for sunday dinner and you don't want to leave your Bestist 4 legged mate at home. This is the place. Well done , but not perfect they asked our Dog Ruby if she wanted water and treats before my pint . Well Done Another Pub that loves and realises customers are important. Not Like these company syndicate that just want to rip you off. Very worth a visit and state you have your Bestist mate .

The welcome and friendliness of all the staff was amazing, it's been a long time since I've had that sort of experience walking into a pub! The service was great, and a good selection of food, and also for my sister who needs gluten free. The food was really nice and a good price too. A special mention to Dillon, who was super professional.

Came with friends whilst visiting the area. Nice selection of ales, menu was fantastic, took us ages to choose our dinner! We had starters and mains but none of us could finish the mains, the portion sizes were excellent. Wait and bar staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Will definitely revisit.

Had a fabulous lunch to celebrate a 90th birthday. We were a party of 12 and had a table in an annex just off the main bar which was perfect . The service from all the staff was impeccable and the food was delicious. Thanks to all at The Devonshire for helping to make it a wonderful day :)

As a new resident to Belper, my neighbour recommended The Devonshire and it didn’t disappoint. First class service and food in a really nice pub.

We stopped for a couple of drinks with our dog this afternoon and we were made to feel so welcome. Fab choice of beers and wines and the waitress couldn’t have been speedier to offer our pooch some water and treats. The food looked and smelt incredible too ! We will definitely be back. Dropped in for a meal, they found us a table, menu was varied with all the standard fare you'd expect. Decent selection of beers wines and spirits. Access not the best for wheelchair users so plan ahead.

Celebrated son’s 1st birthday at the Devonshire. Excellent food and drink (no complaints from 12 people - most had the Sunday roast). Staff attentive. Ample parking. Clean toilets. Excellent for pescatarian and vegetarian/vegan options. What more could you ask for.

Absolutely amazing meal, service, setting and atmosphere. We are a large family who often eat out together, but have had quite a few bad experiences at different restaurants around Derbyshire. The meal we had at the Devonshire tonight was faultless! Beautiful, tasty, fresh food chosen from an exciting menu, served on time and piping hot. All the children said their rib burgers were the best burgers they’d ever had. The noodles and KFC chicken were absolutely delicious too. Everyone at the table highly rated their meals. The chef is truly amazing! The waiting staff were so helpful and attentive too. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely become regular visitors now. Thank you so much to all at the Devonshire for a wonderful night to celebrate my Nephew’s birthday.

Lovely quaint pub just on the outskirts from the town centre of Belper. I have to say the food was excellent and reasonably priced and the staff are extremely friendly. They even had a few treats for my dog. Definitely one I would return to.

Got there at 21-40 parked up and on entering the premises was told last orders had been called and they were closed

A friend recommended this place for lunch. We were driving through Belper but decided to stop and try it for ourselves. We had a really lovely and inexpensive lunch, served by two of the friendliest waitresses, good was delicious AND they are dog friendly. It has a huge menu, we chose off the smaller lunch one. I had the crispy chilli beef noodles - spicy and oh so tasty - my husband had a Viking burger which he declared yummy! We liked it so much we are going back in August for my birthday and introducing it to friends from Nottingham.

We booked in this evening with friends we only see infrequently , the food was scrumptious as usual , unfortunately one of our friends became poorly during our stay , Emma , and all of her staff were attentive and amazing Thankyou so much so grateful to you all , see you all very soon

Love this venue with its quirky decor, friendly staff and good choice of food, but my goodness! An hour to wait from order to table! Very busy on this particular night, but clearly something went very wrong. We will return as the food was delicious, hopefully the next experience will be much better.

Had a great meal here, I have an allergy to something that's not in the top 14, I was very well looked after, manager Emma was very understanding and reassuring. Loved the jokes in the toilets - listening to Victoria Wood will definitely visit again. 🥰

Three vegan options on the whole menu? There used to be a lot more, but obviously they've decided they don't really want to/can't be bothered to cater for plant-based diets! It's disappointing, to be honest.

I was with a party of ten. We had pre-booked our order and after we had got our drinks ( Great quality real ales) ,as soon as we were seated our meals arrived. No complaints from anyone. Well done the Devonshire.

While, perhaps, not being a first choice as a drinkers' pub, The Devonshire has a lovely atmosphere and an excellent menu that transcends "pub grub" making it a great destination for lunch or dinner. There are some decent local ales on offer and a reasonably decent wine list. The staff are both friendly and patient.
