Met up for a family get-together, and the drinks were good. Bar rooms were clean and comfortable.

Lovely place never been before and hadn't booked untill 1pm for a 6pm booking, I have a small appetite and was able to have a child's portion all four of us were happy and satisfied with our meals, staff were attentive and it was reasonably priced.

I didn't stay, so I cant comment about the rooms. Stopped for a Guinness after viewing the Meader sculpture over the road by Pat Walls. Loved the outside seating area. It's huge, with a great view up and down the Front. Hardly any traffic passing is so lovely and peaceful. Nice pint of Guinness and service was fantastic from the young man behind the bar as we swapped a bit of banter about rubber ducks and sweet shops. (don't ask) Hahaha

Beautifully appointed hotel with outdoor seating. Menu is a bit pricey compared to some but the service was excellent.

Simply amazing, the accommodation, the excellent food and the friendly service. Situated in a quiet village. I've stayed on a few occasions for work and everything about The Devonport is 'spot on', above all else the staff are so attentive and helpful. Returned in August 2024 to find the same high level of service, amazing food and very comfortable rooms.

Lovely old pub/restaurant/hotel. Full of character, good food, quiet/scenic location! This is a really nice traditional place, with cosy decor, plenty of space, and good character. The food menu has a mix of classics and specialities- a.good variety (nice to see a few more fish options other than the standard fish and chips which we had!). Food and drinks are varied and prices are fair. The fish we had tsated very fresh too! The staff were great, attentive and friendly which is always welcome. The location, very tranquil and quiet. The village is set along a road which follows the river (down a bank), so provides a decent view from the terrace outside (and gets the sun), and also makes for a nice walk before or after your visit. Thoroughly recommended by me and the 5 people I visited with. Thanks to the Devonport!

Iv stayed here about 10/15 times and every single time the food is incredible, set menu dishes and options each week are amazing and always taste so nice. Will always keep coming back for the food it’s in my opinion the best in the area.

First time there for food. I was not overly impressed. The fish was very wet the batter which made it very sloppy. I removed the batter to eat the fish. It also layed heavy on me so I don't think I would fo there again.

Came here for a birthday lunch, we sat outside as the weather was lovely and due to covid measures. Service was excellent, staff very attentive and helpful. Food was excellent and a very generous portion, looking forward to returning when we can sit inside. Came here again for a early valentines Sunday lunch. We rang up and got a table no problem. Menu was excellent with plenty of choice. The ambience was very relaxing and staff very attentive. I had the roast belly pork which was scrumptious 😋 and had a white chocolate roulade for sweet equally as scrumptious. Great treat for a special occasion

I hadn't been to the Devonport for years, but I decided to pop for lunch. Really nice friendly pub with a good atmosphere. Good food, good beer good service. What's not to like.

We had a terrible meal and poor service and posted a poor review on open table. Interesting that you reply to all good reviews on there and ignored ours.

Service was very poor and there were a lot of baldy behaved dogs barking throughout our meal. Not what you want.

Sunday lunch . Service excellent ,young staff friendly and helpful. My wife has a serious allergy which the staff noted and advised on choices. Well done. Location brilliant in summer overlooking the river. Food so good ,we had all three courses. We'll go again .No prob.

Great hidden gem, great value, lovely staff and very good food 😀 We was on a trip with friends and we set off from home only using a yes/ no app for when to go left, right or straight, we ended up here but we all said we would make the effort to go again, we are two hour drive away, taxi ride to the airport also or a 15 minute walk.

Lovely pub in lovely countryside. Understandably busy for Sunday lunch. Food is on the gastro/bistro side and very good for it.

Great food, been there a few times including birthday celebrations. Always good service. Don’t know about the rooms as I haven’t stayed. Parking can be difficult sometimes but plenty of parking in the village and then a couple of minutes walk, no hassle really.

This is a great place on a Friday - the Fish & Chips were crispy, non-oily/fatty and a great view from the window table we had. Staff were cheery, friendly and helpful.

Really great pub, a very nice menu, and food was beautiful. Its definitely more of a gastropub which is exactly what I wanted. Service was really nice and the staff were lovely with my two children, nice to have colouring pencils and an activity sheet which kept them entertained, the children also really enjoyed their meal.

Excellent food and service, beautiful location, great value. We tried lunch, and then breakfast both were fantastic. Would highly recommend The Davenport Any time of the day for coffee, cake, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Enjoyed lunch. Didn’t stay here, hence rooms not rated, and views not as they were years ago but was told the view to river is blocked by trees as a safety measure. Beef pie was tasty, and all other meals looked good. £30 a head was okay as some drinks were purchased - young serving staff did a good job.

Great place, nice friendly staff would have given 5 stars but I really it dislike when restaurants put service charges on the bill by default. If I want to tip then I will ask it to be added or leave change.

We stayed here for the weekend and the staff made us feel very welcome on arrival. The rooms were clean and spacious with all the facilities you need. We had dinner on our first night and it was delicious, the staff were attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend this pub.

We have just had lunch from the specials menu and it was the best meal my wife and I have had in a long time. The location is super, the building is smart, modern and welcoming. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food has never been anything other than superb on any of the several visits we have made to the Devonport.

Incredible restaurant. We live local and come here once a month. Incredible food and great service. I love that they offer a classic menu, seasonal menu and specials so plenty of choice. We will continue to come and would highly recommend!

Went on July 19th recently refurbished, the service was great lovely pleasant staff, food was delicious, we had fish finger sandwich and served with homemade chips and salad followed by a delicious cake and tea, we sat outside there is a lovely river across the road, also it's a hotel

Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Good range of interesting food on the restaurant menu - a popular place to eat so worth booking a table beforehand (which can be done online). High quality breakfasts with local produce.

Was really looking forward to this meal, but was really disappointed. Portions are tiny for the price. Nothing was homemade on the meze platter. Four tiny triangles of bread. A teaspoon each of tzatziki, hummus and an aubergine relish. Four single slices of a red onion, that wouldn’t have created a whole ring of onion if put all together and about 6 pretty tasteless, tiny green olives. Really disappointed to be honest. The fish in the fish finger sandwich was over-cooked and dry. The chips were alright. Cheesecake was pleasant but nothing to write home about. Not a cheap meal, and one that will not make me recommend this place, nor would I go back in a hurry.

Family just spent 16 nights in two of the new beautiful apartments. The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. We were all very well looked after by all the very friendly staff. I highly recommend The Devonport Inn and will definitely be visiting again.

Only called for a drink, nice ambiance, tentative staff, and great location. Especially as the sun was shining and we sat on the front decking.

Lovely country hotel with fascinating history.

What a great place! We checked into a lovely room. My wife asked if a room with a bath was available and they moved us no muss no fuss. The staff were great, super friendly and the service spot on. The quality of the food was spectacular (see below); the menu is clearly set up for quality not quantity. Finally, at breakfast there is a range of freshly cooked options along with fruit etc. Overall, possibly our new fave place!

We had Sunday lunch 3x adult's and 2x children the two course meal was absolutely awesome 👌 would highly recommend for any occasion. We didn't stay over so can't comment on the rooms the restaurant was spotless and welcoming.

Better and better every time we go. Usually cycle there from Stockton and have a beer and something to eat. Always really accommodating and welcoming and the food is excellent.

Was just ok. Wasn't bad but wasn't good. Was just alright. Service was the same. There was 8 of us and all of us felt the same unfortunately. Much better places to eat instead across teesside, and so can't see us coming back here for a while.

Clean, modern, great set menu that will have something for everyone, generous portions. it's the small gestures that shows this place cares for customers and has standards. The effort taken to make a nice and presentable cup of cappuccino says it all.

First visit for a drink after a walk around the river, this is very local to me but we seem to forget about our surroundings area. We'll worth the visit, warm and friendly atmosphere - will be back

Great location. In line with their other eateries The Devonport serves very good quality food in nice surroundings by competent staff. Sadly the policy of all their restaurants "optional" service charge being automatically added to the bill without asking you is still an irritant. But we take a deep breath, ask for it to be removed and then leave a cash tip for the actual member who served us.

Beautifully impressive! My wife and I stayed for the night, in the beautiful apartment next door to the restaurant. Such a warm welcome from the staff, the pub/ restaurant is so warm and welcoming and beautifully decorated in a country chic style. The menu is fantastic and the food was exceptionally nice. It's such a relaxing atmosphere and the staff cannot do enough for you. We had our dog Luke with us. The pub is dog friendly and so too, are the apartments. The apartments are impressive and every inch, is tastefully done to a high specification. They were faultless. Ours over looked the village green at the front. It had an open plan living room and kitchen with TV and sash windows. A corridor leading to a lovely bathroom with bath and shower. A twin bedroom and a main double bedroom which leads out on to a courtyard area, with water feature and seating. Simply lovely 😍 Highly, highly recommended.

Just had Sunday dinner from the Barman who was welcoming and chatty to the ladies waiting on and then to the excellent food it was fantastic!! Love the atmosphere which is relaxing but also buzzing Definitely recommend keep up the excellent work guys

An elegant and smart establishment that offers accommodation of a good standard, as well as bar and restaurant. Location is very scenic, looking down onto River Tees, all set within an attractive village location. The establishment is up-market and is priced accordingly. Hotel is currently being extended although does not impact on existing business.

It's my local, a place I can also take my dogsl A great venue to socialise with friends. Staff are very friendly and helpful and I've recently found out it's going to be better still as Lee has returned 😁.

Went for Teesside restaurant week. Food was absolutely outstanding. 3 courses for £20. Very good value too. Love this place. Hopefully be back for next wine night. 🍷
