The Devil's Darling Cocktail Bar in Hackney

The bar is cute and very retro. The barman was friendly and helpful. The menu is a little confusing and needs explaining. It was early (7pm) on a Saturday when we went to it lacked a little atmosphere.

Absolutely phenomenal. No gimmicks, rather the epitome of excellent, innovative cocktails creation. Go before it gets too popular and becomes too busy. Truly might be the best cocktail bar in London right now.

I recently went to The Devil's Darling for a Martini Masterclass I received for Christmas. From start to finish the experience was perfect. Alex who took us through the masterclass was brilliant and very informative. So many great cocktails and the food board they brought out for us was brilliant and they easily adapted this for me as I cannot eat gluten. Will be recommending to everyone!

Was given a congnac masterclass for two as a present (Truly Concierge). Really enjoyed the experience in this small bar with great atmosphere. Knowledgeable masterclass with non-mainstream cognac and quality food pairings. Really enjoyed ourselves.

Great drinks, really helpful staff and intimate bar for private hire - we didn't want to leave at closing time!

Fantastic cocktails and very professional staff. I’ve been served by Paolo and Elias, very competent and prepared. I recommend this place!

I had the Absinth Jade Terminus and was the greatest I have ever tasted, we also had the Pernod but wasn’t as great. The blanco the Blanca was a great cocktail. Elias and Paulo were great bartenders, friendly and very skilful I loved it!

I found it reassuring to see a similar review below. The staff in the upstairs bar at as if they are doing you a favour in letting you onto the premises. They are completely up themselves. I asked if the seating was reserved and was told that they were seating another table instead of a simple yes or no to my very politely asked question. Every question I asked was treated with disdain and contempt. I asked about the situation with the whisky bar and was sent down to speak to the doorman. In most bars, I would expect the staff to liaise on my behalf. We ordered some croque monsieur to go with our drinks and some 30 minutes later it had not arrived. This bar had come highly recommended by friends. I do not know if there has been a change of staff but I will not be returning. I recommend that you do not bother. We went on to Two Lights restaurant on Kingsland Road to which I will be giving a five-star review. The difference in treatment from the staff was a polar opposite. I do not know why people pursue a career in the customer service industry if they do not like customers!!!!

Amazing night in this bar. 100% Definitely recommend coming with friends or family! Elias the bar tender was a great host, talking us through the drinks and offering advice and suggestions (Auld Alliance is a shout!) will defo be back!

Elias welcomed us to the bar with his colleague, and explained the best value we could get with our “Dusk” voucher. Not only was this perfect for a student lifestyle, but it made a warm environment we were happy to spend the evening in. I have certainly found a new place to regularly come to in shoreditch.

Been served by the friendly Elias who greeted us with smiles and sat us on a table of our choosing by the window. The place has the most authentic Parisian vibes. Definitely returning! Must visit if you’re in London

Really nice cocktail bar. Great drinks, amazing music, great atmosphere and Elias was an amazing waiter. He knew everything about the drinks and the history about them as well, very kind and open. Definitely recommending this place for a nice evening to enjoy.

I wasn't expecting such a wholesome evening, when I walked into this place. I felt from the beginning really comfortable. Elias was a great support when we ordered absinthe and explained everything you need to know. I recommend picking his brain. And I will definitely return. Thanks elias!

The passion of the bartender Elias is infectious and the drinks are superb. Time has been taken to create them and my taste buds appreciate it! Some of the tastiest drinks I've had! The ambiance is great: small and cosy! Great date spot or initiate get together. I'll be back.
